#12 of Mesozoic Park

We had a little party for Matt the next day, nothing too crazy until the end when I told him that they will be coming to Mesozoic Park with me, he danced and sung, he was so excited to see the dinosaurs and be with his dad, and a little something for the guests was a rather generous discount on a trip to the park.

After arriving on the island, Matt wanted to run in and see everything for himself, it took a while, but I convinced him to slow down and walk with us.

At the end of the tour, he turned to me and asked "Daddy, what one is your favorite dinosaur in the park?"

I thought for a moment before saying "I can't pick, that would be like trying to make me pick between you and your mom, I love you both so much"

Matt smiled.

"We have one last stop" I said "would you like to see some cute baby dinosaurs?"

Matt nodded excitedly and I lead him and Gena to the Lab where the dinosaurs grow up.

Upon arriving at the lab, a young biped dinosaur started jumping at the side of it's pen excitedly, growling and peeping as it did. I had Gena hold Matt still as I approached, I gently pat the animal on the long snout as it calmed down. I began to pet the scaly Spinosaurid as Gena and Matt approached.

"interesting, is this our first featherless addition?" Gena questioned.

I gave a little nod "yes, all of the others have at least a few feathers"

"What is it?" Matt asked a little nervous.

"we aren't totally sure yet, all we know it it's some Spinosaurid" I explained.

Matt tried to reach in, only for the long, croc-like snout of the dinosaur to take a quick nip a him, Matt pulling his arm away just in time with a gasp before tightly hugging Gena.

I gave it a little slap on it's snout before turning to Matt "sorry, he just doesn't know you" I said.

"a-are they all like this?" Matt questioned.

"When they are young they only trust each other and me" I began to explain "When they grow up is when it gets tough, because very few recognize me as their parent after so long"

...

Over the next two years, we continued cloning, including dino-birds, we had 18 species before, now we have 30. The Unknown Spinosaurid turned out to be an Ichthyovenator, which is what I was willing to bet it was.

We found that it enjoyed an exhibit with the river mouth, sea and beach in it. It was very difficult to build an exhibit that allowed the river to flow through and allow fish of a certain size in and out, but we found reinforced concrete pillars supporting a thick metal mesh with one and a half foot gaps underwater and regular metal fence for land will do nicely.

Many of the remaining species where herbivores, including Parasaurolophus, Edmontosaurus and Einiosaurus.

Matt is now five years old and about a month after his fifth birthday, I was called into a meting with my investors.

After introductions, we went straight to business, one investor simply stated "we need more dinosaurs and I think it's time for genetic modification"

I sighed "let me guess... Bigger, louder, more teeth?" I said "I'm guessing your a fan of the Jurassic park slash world series"

A few investors nodded.

I nodded back "If anyone anywhere would be able to do it, it would be my team lead by Dr. Marks Karingson in my park"

"So you'll do it, you'll recreate the Indominus Rex?" someone questioned.

I nodded again "Of course I'll do it" I replied before saying "recreate a hyper intelligent, hyper aggressive movie monster?... What could go wrong..."
