Finding Peace 2 Chapter 2

Iris had just made it back to her home and was about to step inside, pour herself a glass of wine and have a nap when she heard the scream. Her eyes widened in pure horror. Her bag hit the floor and she feared the worst immediately. She didn't even close the door to her hut. Her feet carried her towards the sound as fast as they could go, crashing through the brush. Her heart felt cold, she couldn't handle another loss. She just couldn't.

She reached the spot and found Feugen helping Lily sit up. The wolfess collapsed beside them "What happened?! Is she alright? Is it a snake bite?"

"Relax" Feugen said calmly "just a fall. I think her wrist is broken."

"A fall? From where?!" Iris growled. Feugen looked up and Iris saw the broken branch. It had looked thick enough but had a crack in it already, resulting in the little vixen taking a tumble. Iris looked at Feugen "what on Earth was she doing up there?!"

"I was getting the feather..." Lily whined softly "isn't it pretty?" She held it up for Iris to see with her good hand. Tears welled in her eyes but she was refusing to cry.

"A feather?!" Iris growled at Feugen "are you... OH!" she didn't have words anymore. She smacked him on the head. "Of all the stupid... idiotic... YOU!!!" she smacked him again and again.

"Hey hey hey!" he growled "knock it off!"

"She could've been killed!" Iris growled, smacking him again. "So help me be glad I don't have my sword!"

"Aunt Iris!" Lily whined. The wolfess turned back to her and she said "stop hitting Papa... you'll just hurt your wrist too... his head is too thick..." She meant it genuinely, because her papa had always had a hard head. Whenever someone bumped heads with him he felt nothing and the other person always ended up hurt. It had always been a joke with them. But Iris just looked at her and started giggling.

"Yes I suppose you're right..." she said "your Papa is pretty thick headed isn't he?" She looked at Feugen who scowled at her.

"Uh huh..." Lilly replied. Iris laughed and shook her head. She grabbed a few sticks and quickly whittled them clean before wrapping them and some bandages around the vixen's wrist. She then made a sling that she could rest her arm in and Lily wiped her face with her other hand.

"Now you rest that wrist young lady. No bows, no running around. Not until I say so is that clear?" she warned.

"Yes ma'am..." Lily sniffled.

"Make her some tea with these, it'll help the pain" Iris said, handing Feugen a pouch of herbs. "And Feugen..." she warned "If I ever hear her scream like that again and it's your fault? You'd better run."

"Yes ma'am..." Feugen murmured. The lesson had gone well at least but... he hadn't meant to scare Iris like that. He bit his lip and smiled "it's a pretty feather though..."

Lily nodded and said "can you weave it into a hair tie for me Papa? Or do I have to do that myself too?"

Feugen chuckled and said "I think I can do that for you. Come on Water Lily." He scooped her up very carefully in his arms and looked at Iris. "Thank you. I'm sorry we scared you" he said gently.

"It's alright..." she replied "just... no more for today? I've got a bottle of wine and a bed with my name on them."

"No more for today" Feugen replied and turned, setting off back for home. Iris watched them return to their home and disappear inside. Feugen laid Lily down on her bed gently, made her some supper, and set to work on weaving her a nice hair band with her new feather.

Iris rubbed her face to try and shake off the nerves and then headed for home. Once inside she shut the door behind her, grabbed the bottle of wine, skipped the glass and took a long drink. She looked at herself in the mirror as she wiped her maw and just stared. She could still see it now... the armor she used to wear. She was once a proud member of the Royal Guard. She served a very particular role, one that was exclusive only to her. She was the Princess' Guardian. Her one and only job... was keeping her alive.

And she failed...

She had replayed that night over and over again in her mind. That moment when she chose to trust River's judgement about the King. The moment she left the room, found it locked. Why... why had it taken her so long to sense it? Why had she left at all?! She could've... She screamed as these thoughts rampaged through her mind again for the untold time. For years they hounded her. Never a moment of peace. Only when...

"Iris..." a soft voice whispered.

"No!" she growled softly, refusing to look up "no you... you're not real. If you were real... you'd be here. You wouldn't be dead. And I wouldn't be alone!"

"But you're not..." the voice whispered again "you're never alone."

"Yes I AM!" she growled and rounded on the voice. She glared at the figure of the silvery wolfess standing in her room. "I am alone!" she shouted "I'm alone because I failed the ONE thing I was supposed to do with my life. The ONE person I was supposed to take care of! And I'm alone because even after that... I fucked up my second chance! And I lost you too!" She collapsed onto the bed and lifted the wine bottle again.

This time Silver stepped forward and lowered it before she could drink. Iris scowled at her and just set the bottle down. Not realizing the impact of what had just occurred. Like many times, she spoke with Silver. Though more often then not she always doubted if it was really her. Or her own desperate mind trying to salvage what was left of her fragile sanity. "You know there was no other way..." she whispered gently.

"But why?" she growled "why did it have to be ME who suffered most?! Feugen lost a wife and gained a daughter. I lost..." Her voice trailed off and she looked away "I lost everything..."

"Do you really think I meant nothing to him?" Silver asked. She knew the answer but she still needed the wolfess to admit it.

"No..." Iris murmured softly. She turned and looked back at her and whispered "but you meant more to me... And he got to know you for a lifetime... I..."

"I know..." she whispered softly "but it's okay..."

"How?" Iris whimpered "how is it okay when you're... I can't even touch..." she blinked as Silver reached out and touched her cheek. Iris' looked at her hand and then back at the silvery beauty before her. A tremble started in her hand and ran through the rest of her as she reached up and felt the hand upon her cheek. It felt... soft... warm... it felt real... Silver just smiled at her, letting the darker wolfess piece it together. That night in the storm, when Silver had saved Lily. Her magic passed from herself to Lily. Today by the creek, that magic awakened for the first time in Lily's life. For the first time, that whisper of Silver was brought forth again. Iris shook even more "is this..."

"It's only real to you..." Silver said gently "you're sleeping... I told you I would visit you in your dreams." With that she leaned forward slowly, and pressed her lips to Iris'. The black wolfess was so stunned, so lost, it took her a moment to kiss back. But then she was returning the kiss passionately. How she had missed her beautiful silver beauty. Tears rolled down her cheeks and Silver eased back and wiped them away.

"It took you long enough!" Iris growled softly.

"I'm sorry" Silver giggled "I truly am."

"But how do I know that... that this isn't just a dream? A normal dream..." she said quietly. "How do I know it's really you?"

"Even if this is just a dream..." Silver whispered, easing closer to her and sliding a soft hand along the wolfess' belly, down under her waistwrap. "Are you going to waste it worrying?" she asked, that playful gleam in her eyes. Iris was torn between growling, crying, and whimpering with desire. But when that hand slipped around her sheath and started to stroke and massage gently, coaxing her amber shaft from hiding. She quickly decided.

"Silver..." she breathed out. The wolfess licked gently at her muzzle and neck, working that thick shaft free of it's furry prison before removing the waistwrap that covered it. Iris' cock sprang free to the open air as Silver's paw pumped it steadily up and down.

"Oh how I've missed this..." she whispered softly, moaning against the Amber-eyed wolfess' neck.

"Please... don't stop" Iris whined.

"Stop?" Silver giggled softly "Oh darling. I couldn't stop... not with how badly I need this... Let me show you." She turned on the bed, shifting sideways so she could face the beautiful cock before her. Without hesitation she leaned down and engulfed it into her maw, drawing her hair back behind her ears and suckling it to the base. Iris gasped in pure bliss as the warmth of what felt like a real maw encompassed her length. She could feel it, her tongue, her throat, all of it. She stopped worrying about whether it was real and just lost herself in the sensation as Silver bobbed her head eagerly in her lover's lap. Her soft lips rolled to the base with every pass, swallowing down the hard flesh she kept trapped within. She looked sideways up at her lover and pulled off slowly, making a show of swirling her tongue around her trembling tip a few times before she fully eased off, stroking her tenderly with her hand. "Aren't you going to feel?..." she whined softly "I've missed you too..."

Iris blinked but saw the wolfess hips wiggling back and forth, her tail lifting some. Iris flushed but she reached out slowly, almost afraid to try. Her hand settled on the wolfess' lower back and she blushed feeling that familiar arch as she slid it down and over that gorgeous smooth curve she called a rump. She gave it a playful squeeze and then dipped her hand forward to slide her fingers between those beautiful soft thighs. She felt that familiar heat... familiar warmth rolling over the fur on her knuckles before she felt the soft lips she loved so much. Silver shuddered and dipped her head back down, suckling the amber shaft deep into her maw again. Iris didn't hesitate, it was still reflex for her. She slid her fingers between those lovely wet folds and started to pump them back and forth, searching out that sweet spot just behind the lovely lady's pleasure button. Silver squirmed and moaned before her, bobbing even more on her lap as she arched back against those wonderful fingers.

Iris removed her breastwrap as she watched her cock disappear again and again in Silver's maw, unable to take her eyes off of the sight of it. She pumped her fingers steadily faster and faster but Silver could feel her pleasure rising. Both in the way her beautiful shaft throbbed as her hand twisted and turned around it before her lips, and in the way her fingers trembled inside her whenever she suckled hard on the tip. She pulled off again and looked up at Iris whispering softly "are you going to cum?"

Iris nodded with a soft whimper, trying to contain herself. Even Silver's hand slowly working up and down her slickened length was almost too much. "P... Please Silver..." she whined softly.

"If I let you..." Silver whispered, kissing her tip again and swirling her tongue over it "will you have enough left for me?" She looked at her with that needy gaze again, panting softly. Iris loved that look... when she threw shame to the wind and was open and honest about how much she wanted to feel that cock pounding inside of her.

"I always... have more for you..." Iris whispered shakily "Please!" she whined again, her hips struggling to not hump into that warm hand. Silver smiled and then dove right back down onto her cock. She shifted one hand down to cup the poor wolfess' furry sac and massage the swollen, churning orbs within as she bobbed up and down faster and faster. "S... Silver... Silver I... AHHH!" Iris cried out as the sudden burst of sensation overwhelmed her quickly. Her knot started to swell and Silver didn't hesitate to wrap her hand around it and squeeze. Iris' hips bucked uncontrollably as she arched up and came, flooding the wolfess' maw with thick ropes of her spicy cum. Every spurt was immediately swallowed down with a loving moan from the silver female.

Iris finally sank back and watched as Silver slowly drew back, suckling every bit of remaining seed from that thick amber shaft until she pulled free. She looked at Iris, panting heavily and just whined. She pulled free of Iris' fingers and instead shifted to her hands and knees facing away from her and lifting her tail. "Please..." she whispered shakily as she looked back at her "I missed you so much Iris... Please love me..."

Iris didn't need to be told twice. With renewed vigor she sat up and shifted to her knees behind her lover. Silver reached back between her thighs, stroking her soft drooling lips and spread them open so Iris could easily slip inside. Once her tip was secured she took a firm grip of the silver female's hips and eased herself into her, shuddering as she sheathed herself in the velvet heat of a desiring female's cunny. "Ohhh Silver" Iris shuddered. The sensation was so much and not only because she was extra sensitive having just cum so recently. She doubled over as she hilted and panted against her neck. Her hands slid from her hips up her sides and around to those full beautiful breasts. Every inch of her body felt so perfectly familiar. Every curve, every strand of fur, the way she trembled under her touch. The way her nipples hardened under her fingertips and she gasped when she closed her fingers over them. Even that sweet scent was so rich as she buried her nose against her neck.

"Mnnnn Iris..." Silver whispered, leaning her head back "make me yours..." Iris growled softly and bit down gently on the scruff of her neck. Silver gasped and Iris felt her cunny clench and flutter around her length as she drew it back and then slammed into her again, falling into a rhythm she knew would hit all the right spots at just the right space. Every stroke of that thick cock in and out of her lover's tunnel was met with a soft slap of her hips against that beautiful ass as she bred her. "Yes... Yes oh gods..." Silver groaned out, pushing back into every thrust "harder Iris... Please... Ahhh!"

She cried out again as Iris tugged sharply on her scruff, tugging her up so they were both kneeling and raised up. Silver raised her arm and hooked it around Iris' neck as her breasts were squeezed and rolled in the wolfess' grasp, their hips grinding together in pure blissful passion. "Silver..." Iris whined softly into her neck "I missed you... you feel so good."

"I missed you too... mnnn keep going... don't stop" Silver whispered, bucking back against Iris as she drew her hips back and started rutting harder and faster. Their bodies began colliding with louder slaps of flesh pounding against flesh. "Yes... like that... mnn Gods just like that!" Silver whimpered. Her fingers closed over Iris' hair and she gave a sharp tug, spurring the wolfess to hump harder and harder into her. She could already feel that partially swollen knot kissing and nuzzling at her lips, threatening her with that tie she wanted so bad. "Do you want to knot me?..." Silver whispered huskily, looking back at Iris as she panted out her euphoric bliss.

"I'm going to..." Iris growled "whether you like it... nnnf... or not..." she slammed her hips even harder as she prepared to lock the other wolfess to her in the most intimate way for their species.

"Ohhh my Alpha Bitch..." Silver growled softly in return. Iris snarled and bit at her scruff again as she pounded into her harder and harder. Silver's cries grew louder and louder as she struggled to contain herself. Iris' grip slid to her hips again, tugging them back into her jackhammering thrusts. Silver could only fall forward on the bed and bite the furs as she felt that knot shove inside. She screamed into the mawful of furs and came hard, clenching around Iris' throbbing cock as it flooded her with thick ropes of cream.

Iris collapsed over Silver as her whole body rocked and shuddered with bliss until she was spent. She fell over to her side, tugging Silver with her and just lay panting heavily, still spurting small drools of cum into her lover's beautiful cunny. She licked gently at Silver's scruff where she'd bitten her, hoping she hadn't been too rough. It all... felt so real. She almost forgot...

"That was beautiful..." Silver whispered softly "mnnnn I missed that so much..." she reached down and took Iris' hands, bringing them up to her chest and lips so she could kiss them, hold them. She nestled back against her and looked back over her shoulder with a smile. It faltered some when she saw Iris looking away though. "What's wrong?..." she whispered gently.

"I don't want to wake up..." Iris whispered "I don't want to wake up and start wondering if this was all real or not... or... what this was... I just... I don't." She hugged Silver closer and then whispered "I want to sleep forever... so I can be with you..."

"Don't say that..." Silver whispered softly "I know it's hard but you have to hold on... For Lily."

"Why?" she replied "she doesn't need me she..." She blinked and looked at Silver who's ears folded back. Silver looked at her and leaned back, kissing her tenderly.

"I know you see it..." Silver whispered gently "I promise... with her magic awakened... I'll be here for you more..."

Iris hesitated as she gazed at her and then nodded and kissed her back. She growled playfully to her "I'd better wake up in one hell of a mess missy..."

"Mnnnn I think that... nnf" Silver replied, pulling herself free of Iris' knot "can be arranged..." She turned and suddenly pinned the black furred wolfess to her back, climbing on top of her and sinking herself onto that still rigid length.

When the wolfess did finally wake, she regretted that threat immensely. For a brief moment she pondered burning the fur that she used as a blanket that was now absolutely soaked in her seed. The worst of it was... it had dried. Peeling it off of her lap was brutal on her fur but she finally managed to get free and get herself (and the fur) cleaned up. While she was in the bath though, she reached up and touched her cheek. She could still feel it... her hand... her touch. And for the first time in several years she smiled and felt it reach more then just her lips. She felt... warm. Things were going to be hard, she knew that much. But it was comforting knowing Silver would keep her promise. That she wouldn't be alone... and in the end. She would be with her again...

After dinner Feugen carried a tired Lily upstairs and tucked her into her bed with a smile. "Now you be good and do what Iris says okay? Rest your arm" he said quietly.

"I will Papa, I promise" she said with a yawn.

"That's my girl" he said softly, leaning down to kiss her brow.

"Papa?" Lily asked quietly as he turned for the door.

"Yes Lily Pad?" he asked with a smile.

"Are you... going to look for a new mate?" she asked. Feugen blinked in surprise and tilted his head.

"A new mate?" he asked "why would I do that?" He slowly sat down on her bed watching her.

"I see the other girls with both their Mamas and Papas and... they seem really happy" she said softly "I just... want you to be happy."

"I am happy sweetheart" he said gently "I promise. I don't..." his voice trailed off some and he thought for a long moment before he said "I don't want a new mate sweetie. I loved your mother very much and I just... I don't think I could ever love anyone else the same way. And I wouldn't want them to feel... like they weren't good enough."

"Okay..." she said quietly "Promise you're happy?"

"I promise" he said with a chuckle. He took her hand and squeezed it gently "how could I not be? I have the sweetest, cutest, and strongest daughter any Chief could ask for." He leaned over her and suddenly growled "with the most infectious laugh!" He lunched and started nuzzling into and nibbling at her shoulder and neck with a soft growl.

Lily squealed and pawed at him "stop it! Daddy noooo!" She laughed as he tickled her mercilessly. Finally he released her and she flopped back and giggled up at him. She smiled and said gently "I love you Papa."

"I love you too Water Lily" he replied gently. He kissed her cheek and purred softly "good night."

"Good night" she purred back and watched him go. She curled up carefully and closed her eyes to get some sleep. It didn't take long for her to start dreaming again. She dreamed she was back in the cavern, in the nest. But the dragons were alive. All shapes and colors flying and crawling about. But she didn't feel afraid. Even the massive one that could've killed her with a sneeze. She just giggled as she watched them. And then... she felt it.

She turned and felt a thread. The dream started to fade into a white light as she touched the thread. It was a brilliant shade of blue. One that she really liked. She followed the thread without question, curiously stepping out of the cave as it faded away to just... white light. And then she blinked, and she was back at the willow tree. It was strange this time. In the cave she had been completely normal. But now her arm was stuck in it's sling again. She could even feel it was still rather tender. But she was happy to be back in this beautiful place. She looked around again and giggled softly as she felt the grass tickling her toes again. She covered her maw though as she giggled but she already heard the gasp from inside the tree.

"Wait!" she cried out quickly "D... don't go... please?" She took a step towards the weeping willow. She could see the beautiful blue between it's swaying branches but she didn't want to scare them away again. "I'm not scary, I promise. I'm just a girl" she giggled softly.

"A... A girl?" a soft voice answered. It sounded like a boy. And they sounded scared that she was a girl.

"Uh huh!" she replied "I'm a Princess."

"Wow..." the voice replied "I've... never met a Princess before."

"Would you like to?" she asked softly, taking another step closer.

The voice hesitated and then said quietly "okay but... promise you won't laugh?"

"Why would I laugh?" she asked softly.

"Cuz... I look kinda funny" he replied "I have... weird marks."

"That's okay" she giggled "I have wings."

"...what?" he replied "No way!"

"Let me in and I'll show you" Lily giggled. She jumped a little as the branches suddenly parted right in front of her. Her ears folded back and she almost stepped back but there he was...

He was a young canine, about her age. He wasn't a wolf or a fox, so she could only imagine he was a jackal based on his size. But he looked so different then anyone else like him she'd ever seen before. His skin was blue, somewhere between sky blue and midnight blue. It was a deep and beautiful color. But his eyes and his air were brilliantly bright. They almost reminded her of her father's hair, how much it stood out against his darker fur. His hands were marked with crescent moons and star markings. He was also wearing clothes she didn't recognize from the tribe. He definitely wasn't wearing wraps. It looked like a half gown on top and some of Iris' leggings though made for a boy. He bit his lip as she stared at him and then he spoke quietly "staring isn't nice either you know..."

"Sorry!" she said quietly "I just... I've never seen anyone so..."

"Weird?" he offered glumly.

"I was going to say blue" she giggled softly.

"Oh..." his tail actually wagged a little bit. "So ummm..." he said quietly "you have wings?"

"Oh! Right" she smiled and stepped in and then turned so he could see them. She wiggled them a bit so he could see.

"Oh wow!" he said, standing up some "Can you fly?"

"Not yet" she said, turning back "but my Papa says when I get older they'll get bigger and I'll be able to. He has wings too and he can fly!"

"Wow..." he replied softly "I wish I could fly... I can't... really do anything cool."

"I don't know" she replied "isn't this place yours?" She asked, turning around and looking at the tree.

"Well yea I guess..." he murmured and shrugged, his cheeks tinting purple "It's really not anything special..."

"I think it's pretty cool" she said with a smile. She turned back to him and said "I'm Lily."

He blushed but he smiled at her, his tail wagging even more. "I'm Sirius" he replied and then blinked some "Oh! It's... It's very nice to meet you Miss Lily" he bowed before her quite gracefully. Almost like he'd been trained to give a proper greeting to a Lady.

"It's nice to meet you too Sirius" Lily giggled softly. "So ummm... where are we exactly?"

"I... I don't know" he replied "I come here sometimes when I sleep. I think I'm just dreaming."

"Oh... well you can't be dreaming cuz... well what if I'm dreaming?" she replied.

"But... how can you be in my dream?" he asked.

"What if it's my dream?" she shot back.

"My head hurts..." he whined, trying to think about it too much. "I just call it the White Willow... it's a nice place"

"It sure is..." she whispered softly "Have you... ever met anyone else here before?"

He shook his head and bit his lip "you're the first. That's why I got scared the other time..."

"That was you? So that wasn't a dream either..." she said quietly "I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to frighten you. I had no idea I wasn't alone. It's just so nice and cozy under here." She turned and sat down against the trunk of the tree, watching the branches sway above.

Sirius hesitated and then slowly sat down beside her. He watched her for a moment and finally asked "you're... you're one of the savages... aren't you?"

She blinked and looked at him with a frown "the what?..."

"The savages" he replied "you know... the people that live in the Forest? The monster people?"

Lily's eyes widened and she sat up suddenly. "How dare you!" she growled "we... we are not MONSTERS. We are not SAVAGES! WE*"

"I'm sorry!" he said quickly and covered his head like she was going to hit him.

She blinked and her ears drew back some. She tilted her head after a moment and said "Jeez I'm not gonna whip you or anything."

"Sorry..." he said again and slowly uncurled "That's... what everyone calls you. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."

"It's okay..." she said with a huff and sat back down "we're Tribals. Not savages."

"Tribals..." he said and nodded "okay... but then... why do you eat people?" She looked at him like his head just turned upside down. He swallowed and said "you don't... eat... people? You don't... okay ummm... maybe... maybe you could... tell me about yourself?" He offered, trying to take the path of 'least likely to be hit'. Lily rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"You really don't know anything huh?" she sighed "don't worry. I'll teach you." She turned and sat cross legged in front of him and waited. "You have to sit like this though..." she said "it's how we sit when we're trying to learn or concentrate."

"Oh!" he yelped and quickly set up and then set back down "sorry..." he murmured quietly.

"Stop saying sorry all the time!" she grumbled.

"I'm sorry!" he said quickly "I mean... I... apologize?"

"That's not the point!" she growled "it's not the word dummy. You just don't have to apologize for everything."

"Okay okay!" he said quickly "I'm s... Okay..." he stopped himself and waited, biting his lip.

"Better" she said with a smile. She took a breathe and started to tell him all about her people. She told him about their homes, their people, their Chief, their mountain. She told him everything. After all, she couldn't just leave him to wander around his life believing them to be savages! That was just silly! So she told him about Gaia, about how she made everything, and about how the forest was their home and they were at war with the Kingdom. When she got to that part his ears flattened back sharply and he looked down. He plucked at the grass beneath them and suddenly got very quiet. "What's wrong?..." she asked softly.

"M... My father fights the war..." he replied softly "he said the S... Tribals... killed my mother..."

"Oh..." she said quietly. She couldn't tell if it was true or not. She didn't think... that her papa would kill a mother. But... if he had to. She swallowed and then said very quietly "a man in the Kingdom killed my mom..."

Sirius looked up and his ears lowered softly "I'm sorry..." he said. This time he didn't feel bad for it either and he was glad that she didn't get upset.

"Me too..." she replied gently and then added "I hate the war..."

"Me too..." he replied, still tugging at the grass.

"So... what about you?" she asked, biting her lip and trying to change the subject. They couldn't really argue over who was right and wrong about either side. They'd both lost people to the violence but they could at least agree the violence itself was dumb.

"What do you mean?" he asked, tilting his head.

"What about you? Silly" she giggled softly "what do you do? What is your family like?"

"Oh I ummm..." he blushed some "I train. My father wants me to be a soldier but I... I don't know I don't think I'm right for one. Kinda... small."

"Yea you are" she giggled. He shrank down even more but she added "but that's okay! I mean... my wings are small but they can grow." He perked back up a little bit.

"Yea I guess..." he said softly "I guess I just don't really want to fight. There's other things I want to do to try and help instead..."

"Like what?" she asked.

"Well I could help the sick" he said softly "the poor... there's a lot of hungry people in the Kingdom. I... I ask my father why and he says it's because wars are expensive. But I feel like, if you can't feed everyone then why bother with the war?"

"Yea..." she said quietly "what do you like to do when you're not training?"

"I like to read" he said with a smile "I go to the library all the time and read all kinds of stories. About knights and dragons and magic! I also sometimes practice magic when I can..."

"You have magic?" she asked suddenly. He blinked and looked very nervous. He glanced around like he might try and run. "What?..." Lily asked, tilting his head.

"I'm not... supposed to tell people..." he said quietly "Father says I have to keep it a secret."

"Oh! Don't worry" she giggled and zipped her lips "my lips are sealed. Besides, I'm magic too!"

"You are?" he asked looking excited.

"Uh huh! Look!" she smiled. She turned and pulled her hair up off her shoulders. On the back of her right shoulder was a silvery white pentagram. "See?"

"Wow..." he said softly "it's so... small..."

"What?" she growled, rounding on him.

"Sorry! I just... mines way bigger" he said.

She huffed "Show me" she demanded.

"What?..." he asked, suddenly looking worried again.

"You heard me" she replied "I showed you mine you show me yours. It's only fair."

He hesitated a bit and then finally nodded "okay. It's fair I guess." He stood up and he tugged off his shirt. She blinked in surprise seeing more markings along his chest and down to his lower stomach. But he turned around and her eyes widened. His entire back was covered with a large brilliant blue pentagram symbol. She actually stood up slowly so she could look at it closer.

"Wow..." she whispered out "You're right, it's really big... How on earth do you hide it?"

"I don't... go out much" he murmured softly and pulled his shirt back on.

"Oh... well that stinks..." she replied. He just shrugged and sat back down. She sat with him and asked "so what kind of magic do you do?"

"Oh ummm... different kinds" he said quietly "I really want to help people so I try to learn... how to help them not hurt. Like heal them?"

"Oh wow" she said quietly. She looked down at her arm still in a sling.

"How... did that happen?" he asked

"Fell out of a tree" she replied "but it was worth it. I got a really pretty blue feather. I wish I could show you but..." she blinked and she looked around. "I guess... it's not here?" she said, tilting her head some and seeming puzzled.

"Do... you want some help with that?" he asked, nodding to her arm.

"What this? It'll be fine a few days" she said "but... I mean... If you could make it faster that'd be cool."

"I can try" he said and sat up. He knelt in front of her and she carefully took the sling off so he could see her wrist. It was still pretty swollen. "Wow that looks like it hurts..." he said quietly.

"Yea it does, so don't make it worse Blue Butt" she warned.

"Right..." he said quietly. He took a breathe and held his hand over her wrist. He closed his eyes and took several deep breathes. At first nothing happened... and then she felt the thread start to hum, like it was vibrating. A warmth and tingling began to creep up along her arm slowly. It felt so weird, but it didn't hurt. She could see a glow starting along the markings on the back of his hand. Suddenly the glow became brighter and brighter. The tingling got worse and worse. It still didn't hurt but it was very uncomfortable.

"S... Sirius stop!" she whined and reached up to push him away. But there was an angry barking voice from all around them.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Sirius' eyes snapped open and then Lily fell back with a soft cry. She tried to grab onto Sirius to keep from falling but missed and grabbed a fistful of grass instead.

She landed in her bed, staring up at her ceiling and panting softly. It was the middle of the night, a few hours before dawn. Moments later she heard her father call "Lillian? You okay up there?"

Thinking quickly she called back "Yes Papa... just... bumped my wrist in my sleep."

"Alright do you need more tea?" he called up.

"No I'll be okay. Thank you Papa" she added a yawn for better dramatic effect and Feugen quieted and let her get back to sleep. Slowly, very slowly, Lily climbed out of bed and headed for the mirror. She wondered if it was all a dream. It couldn't have been! It felt so real. Sirius had been real, and very nice. She had always thought people from the Kingdom would just be angry with her and hate her but he seemed... curious. A lot like she was. She blinked after a few moments and looked down, feeling two very strange sensations.

The first, was a tickle in the palm of her unhurt hand. She slowly turned her hand over and opened it, finding a few blades of grass clutched between her fingers. The second... was her wrist... it didn't hurt anymore. With her heart racing a mile a minute she reached up and unslung her arm, letting it fall to the floor. She touched her wrist through the splint and then carefully tore it off completely. She didn't feel a single ounce of pain. She twisted it this way and that, turning it over and around. Nothing... she even looked closely and saw that the scar she had from being bitten by a pig when she was 4 was gone. There was not a thing wrong with her entire forearm.

She felt dizzy suddenly as she sat down on the bed, rubbing her face. Should she tell Papa? Would he believe her? He'd probably panic about her talking to a boy... Iris too. Especially one from the Kingdom! She didn't want them to stop her from seeing him. I mean... how could they? But she still didn't want to risk it. She liked Sirius, he was nice to talk to. So she put the bandages back on as best as she could and tucked her arm back into the sling. She'd just give it a few days just to be safe. With that decided she settled back into her bed and gazed up at the ceiling. She didn't like the sound of that voice that had yelled at them. She hoped Sirius was alright. After a few moments she closed her eyes and drifted off back to sleep... but she didn't dream of her little blue jackal friend again that night.

Downstairs Feugen returned to his bed to find it's occupant already up and dressing. "Heading home?" he asked gently.

"Mhm" she replied "thanks though."

"Sure, of course" he said quietly, glancing away.

"Feugen..." the female said. Her name was Ember. She had been part of the tribe for many years, before River, even before Silver. She smiled at him gently and said "this doesn't have to be anything. I'm not looking for your love. I know what River meant to you and I wouldn't dare hurt that. I know what Lily means to you too and..." She looked down at her scarred stomach, one... a blade wound... ran particularly deep. "Well I can't interfere with that even if I tried..." she said quietly. "I was mated too. And it may have been longer ago that I lost Rail but... That doesn't mean I love him any less. This is just... a mutual need. Can't have you leading the front lines if you're knocking people out with that log of yours" she teased.

Feugen smiled and said "I appreciate that Ember. But that's not... what I was thinking about at all. I know what this is and I'm okay with it."

"Oh?" she asked, tilting her head "then what's with the awkward..." she paused and looked at him and narrowed her eyes. "Seriously?..." she muttered.

"Well since we're awake..." he shrugged. She hesitated and then sighed "alright alright but quick. I still need sleep and so do you..." She moved back to his bed and bent over, not even bothering to remove her wrap this time. Instead she merely lifted it for him. She bit her lip and groaned as she felt that now familiar shaft slide between her still wet folds and start to pump in and out of her with urgency. She reached back between their thighs though and took a hold of his sac with a growl "hey! Not that fast... this isn't a one sided deal..."

"You sure are bossy" he huffed as he slowed down some, savoring the sensation a bit more.

"And you're like a damn teenager" she muttered, biting her lip to keep from moaning too loudly. Feugen reached between her thighs and suddenly pressed on her hooded pearl, causing his spines to strum extra strongly against her sensitive nub. "Ah! Bastard!" she growled "How did she stand you?"

"No idea" he growled as he felt her shudder underneath him in climax. A moment later he pulled out of her. She quickly spun and took him into her maw, letting him cum in a warm and inviting place without too much intimacy.

She pulled back as he finished and then smiled up at him. He blinked and she leaned up to kiss him on the cheek and promptly licked him from chin to ear, leaving a rather... sticky... trail along the way. He winced and jerked back but she just smirked and said "see you around Chieftain."

He growled softly at her as she left and then flopped back onto his bed with a sigh, cleaning his face some. He bit his lip and then curled up on his side, imagining River laying there with him... imagining it was her he could be with. His mind wandered to Lily's words. She wanted him to be happy. And truthfully... he was. He missed River terribly. And Ember would never be a replacement, not even close... to the love that he lost. But that didn't mean they couldn't be a little closer as friends. They both knew who their true loves were... and when they died and passed on to the next world... they would be reunited. Part of him looked forward to that day. But with Lily... he had a role to fulfill before he earned the right to see River again. He curled up on his bed and drifted off to sleep. His dreams were filled with his love... and Ember's filled with her's.
