Who Am I? Part 05

The young ringtail clung to the pine branch watching as a silver rabbit moved about on the ground. Ordinarily he wouldn't go for prey as large as himself but he hadn't had any luck foraging for two nights. It was as if every last mouse, grub, nut, and fruit had vanished from the entire forest. The rabbit stood on its back legs and surveyed its surroundings but it didn't look up.

Everything was perfect and the ringtail dropped right onto the rabbit's back. He sunk his teeth into the back of the rabbit's neck as he wrapped his forelegs around his prey. The rabbit screamed in terror and the ringtail tried to clamp down harder in an attempt to break its neck but for some reason he couldn't tighten his jaws.

The rabbit continued to struggle, as the ringtail became frustrated. He had his prey but he couldn't kill it. If he let go or tried to get a better grip the rabbit would have a chance to use its teeth or claws. The rabbit continued to cry and thrash about making the ringtail all too aware that he was riding the rabbit as though they were mating. Suddenly the rabbit froze as he felt the ringtails member rub across his tail hole. The ringtail gripped the rabbit's neck tighter and drove his stiff member into him.

The rabbit screamed in pain once again as the ringtail violently mated him. As the ringtail climaxed he collapsed from the exertion and lack of food. The last things his mind registered were the smell of rabbit seed and the sight of the rabbit's teeth nearing his face.

Dirk screamed and pulled free of Buck's arms as he woke up. A cool breeze was blowing and it ruffled Dirk's fur. Buck sat up and wrapped his arms back around the ringtail fur.

"Bad dreams again?"

"Y-yeah, the one where I-I tried to kill you and instead I-I . . ."

"Sh, it's all right."

"But I-I . . ."

"You mated with me it is as simple as that. I admit I was surprised and in more pain then I usually like but you didn't do anything wrong. We've been together for nearly two years now so you should know that if I hadn't been willing then I could have easily stopped you." Buck said as he gently rubbed Dirk's chest fur.

Dirk murred and leaned back resting his head on Buck's shoulder, "I know, but that isn't the way it happens in my dreams." Dirk said as he licked the back of Buck's floppy ear. Buck giggled at the attention and gently pinched Dirk's nipples causing him to groan in pleasure, "Unfortunately you're going to have to come to terms with that memory. There is always one memory that remains with you for the rest of your life from your First Shift."

Dirk tilted his body slightly and Buck slid his hands lower as their muzzles met. Their tongues struggled for an instant before they began to explore each other's mouth. Dirk ran his tongue over the small blunt canines that Buck possessed in his median form. As they continued the kiss they both lay back and Dirk pulled Buck closer trapping Buck's hands between them as he slowly ran his own hands through the fur at the small of Buck's back.

Buck moaned into the kiss as Dirk fondled his tail and then moved lower, "Try looking on the bright side, very few of us have a memory that enjoyable." Buck said as he broke their kiss and rolled on top, straddling Dirk's chest. He leaned down rubbing his muzzle along the side of Dirk's.

"I have to live with the memory of my guide, a bobcat, biting off the end of my ear and then dangling me like a chew toy as he batted at me. Just to teach me that my clan was inferior to the predator clans." Buck whispered into Dirk's ear.

Dirk hissed and nuzzled Buck's neck; "I dare anyone to say that about you while I'm around."

"Mmmmmmm, my protector." Buck hummed as he licked Dirk's jaw.

Buck slid down slightly and nibbled on his nipple. Dirk moaned as is sheath was forced down and Buck's soft fur rubbed against his exposed member. His hips jerked up as Buck's exposed cock slid alongside his own.

"Oh Gods." Dirk groaned as Buck continued to slide downward one agonizing inch at a time.

Buck licked the fur around Dirk's navel, "Are you praying for release or for me to continue?" He asked as he sat up and looked down into Dirk's golden eyes.

"Both!" Dirk gasped.

Buck laughed before he leaned back down between Dirk's legs. He rested Dirk's balls on his short muzzle as he licked the sensitive fur below them. He took first one and then the other orb in his mouth and gently massaged them with his tongue, causing Dirk to pant. He released his appetizer and moved up toward his prize.

Dirk shuddered as Buck ran his cold nose along the bottom of his cock. He shuddered again as Buck began to clean the pre from the exposed flesh.

"Mmmmm, you taste good enough to eat." Buck said an instant before plunging his muzzle down on Dirk's cock, sliding the length deep into his throat.

Dirk moaned loudly and tried to buck his hips only to discover that Buck was holding him securely to the ground. As Buck pulled back off he carefully drug his teeth across the tip.

"Demon bunny!" Dirk choked in shock

"Hah, that's right my little toy." He replied as he once again began to run his tongue around the sensitive head.

Dirk was surprised as the warmth of Buck's mouth vanished. He opened his eyes just as Buck once again sat on his chest. He groaned as the fur of Buck's tail barely grazed his over sensitive member. Buck smiled and kissed Dirk sharing the pre, he had only moments before milked from Dirk. Dirk's tongue worked feverishly to collect every hint of the potent substance from Buck's mouth.

"Now my ring tailed toy I'm going to make you suffer like never before." Buck said as he placed both hands on Dirk's hips. He lifted up and slowly lowered himself.

Dirk howled in pleasure as his head started to penetrate Buck's tight tail hole. Again he tried to jerk upward but Buck wouldn't allow that. He continued the slow decent seconds seemed to pass like hours and all Dirk could do was vocalize the agony that Buck was causing.

Once he had taken Dirk's entire length he released the hold he had on Dirk's hips and allowed him to buck several times expertly riding him so that there was very little actual friction between them. Dirk growled as Buck once again pushed down on his hips holding him in place as he started to lift himself back off at a fractionally faster pace. When only Dirk's head was still in him Buck dropped impaling himself causing Dirk to howl in pleasure. He rose just as quickly and then began the agonizingly slow decent.

In frustration Dirk did the only thing he could he reached out and ran his paw along Buck's cock at the same slow pace. Buck only murred with pleasure. Dirk gritted his teeth he needed release and at the slow pace Buck had set he was sure he'd be dead or at least unconscious long before that could happen. He narrowed his eyes at his tormentor who only smiled back. Suddenly Dirk changed tactics pawing up and down Buck's cock as fast as he could.

Buck gasped as the combined sensation of slow penetration and rapid pawing pushed him near to bursting. Dirk smirked as he felt the rabbit clench his muscles in an attempt to hold back the explosion. Buck increased his pace but it wasn't enough his seed burst forth, covering Dirk's chest and muzzle in sticky white seed. Dirk howled in pleasure as Buck's orgasm pushed him over the edge and he shot his own seed deep into Buck.

Dirk opened his eyes only to discover that though his fur was coated in cum it was his own. He groaned as he realized that it was all only a dream. Buck was still in his own bed. Dirk sighed as he got up and stumbled toward the locker room. He needed a shower to clean his fur. It wasn't until he caught sight of himself in the mirror that he realized he had shifted into his median form. It took several more minutes before the realization that he hadn't forgotten his dream sunk in. When it did he forgot about getting cleaned up instead he turned and dashed back out the door. He had to tell Buck that he remembered everything. First Shift, the two years they had been together in the virtual reality simulation and most important of all the love they shared.

* * *

Buck shuddered as he looked around the room. Its walls seemed composed of solid darkness. Inky black shadows seemed to dart about just at the edge of his vision.

"Computer, why has the chamber reverted to standby!" He yelled. An instant before he had been mating with Dirk; now he was standing in an empty virtual reality chamber.

"Who are you and what do you want!" He yelled again when he noticed an animal, surrounded by a purple glow, sitting beside two sleeping humans.

"They can't hear yuh. Yuh gotta realize that, this is just a dream after all."

Buck jumped sideways and landed in a fighting stance. The creature that had spoken was an exact duplicate of the one speaking to the sleeping humans.

It laughed, stood up, and started walking toward the other group. "If yuh wan' answers yuh should follow me. I'm Coyote, by the way. Yuh know, the Kah-Har Trickster God. Course that's just a load uh crap."

"I'm dreaming. That's all this is all I have to do is wake up and this insanity will end. I'll be back in the park security office listening to Dirk snoring. I just have to wake up." Buck said as he tightly closed and opened his eyes several times.

"Tha' isn't gonna do yuh any good. This may be yer mind but I'm the one in control right now."

When Buck opened his eyes again he was standing next the humans. He only had to look at them for an instant to realize who they were, Dirk and himself in their human forms.

"Agent Briarspike, you and yer mate are in danger. Yuh must wake up and escape before the Imperiam arrives." The first coyote image was saying to the human Buck.

The first coyote then disappeared as the human Buck rolled over and groaned as he sat up. "What is going on? Computer, why has the V.R. Chamber switched to standby mode? We still require a week to return to normal time flow otherwise we risk suffering from V.R. Lag."

Suddenly the shadows and inky black walls vanished leaving a harsh white light and military gray walls lined with small blue projector strips. Both Bucks gasped at the change.

"Finder! You've got to get out of here now!" A wolf fur yelled as he ran into the room, "The Imperiam has found out we've been running a V.R. chamber."

"I recognize him." Buck said as the wolf ran right through him, "He was the wolf that escorted Dirk and myself back to our rooms."

"Yeh, he's also one of Shendria's children. An agent, like yerself, sent here to investigate why such a wide variety of rare shifters are from Big Hub."

"Listen, I'll take care of the ship. I need you to get Dirk to a medical facility. He's completed First Shift but with the way you just shut down the chamber I'm not sure if he'll remember any of it. Keep an eye on him just in case. If I don't make it out of here make sure he gets my belongings. Oh and mail this back to my room." The Human Buck said as he gave the wolf a small key, "I don't want the Imperiam finding that if I'm caught. Now go!"

The wolf grimaced and took the key. He then shifted into a human form, and slung the unconscious Dirk over his shoulder, "You'd better get through this because you're going to owe me big time." He snarled as he trudged out the door.

Buck gasped as everything suddenly shifted. He was standing in the corner of the ships living cabin with Coyote next to him. Two men were holding the human Buck while another was beating him.

"He's completely wiped the computer cores and burned most of the wiring. The only thing this crate would be good for now is if we wanted to scrap it out for the metal." A fourth man said as he entered the room.

"No, there's another use. We can make an example of it." The torturer said as he hit Buck over the head. The human went limp and they dropped him on the floor, "Suit up, we're going to cut her loose and let the destroyer blow it to bits."

"So this isn't just a memory that you're showing me?"

"No, I'm showing you what actually happened. Normally I don't directly interfere this way. However I made a promise tuh the kid's teacher that I'd look after him. And seen' as yer his mate, fer now, after you as well. Sides I need yuh tuh do somethin' fur me. But first yuh gotta have yer memory back." Coyote said as his double once again appeared next to the human Buck.

"AGENT BRIARSPIKE WAKE UP! Yuh gotta get outta here!" The coyote double shook his head and seemed to sigh before placing his nose against the back of Buck's neck.

Buck jerked and shifted to his median form he groaned and got to his hands and knees and crawled to the side of the room and pushed one of the wall panels. A hatch in the floor slid open and Buck lowered himself into a large space suit.

Buck, the dreamer, stretched his shoulders, "Well I know that I escape otherwise I wouldn't be here but I didn't look that bad off. At least not bad enough to be in a coma for so long."

The scene shifted again and Buck nearly choked as he stood in open space. He could see the V.R. ship slowly drifting away from Big Hub and toward a large Imperiam Destroyer.

"Citizens of Big Hub Station, the ship you see on your screens contained an illegal V.R. chamber. The owner of this craft has been using it to scam honest citizens. Even now his latest victim is in the medical facility receiving treatment. In order to protect you from such evil people we have arranged a demonstration to dissuade others from attempting such things. The owner of this vessel, Mr. Thorne White, is at this moment aboard the vessel trying to escape from justice. However no one can escape the justice of the Imperiam."

Buck's view suddenly zoomed in on the ship. He could see the other Buck standing on the hull. That Buck propelled himself back toward Big Hub as the destroyer fired on the ship. The explosion propelled large metal fragments in all directions. Several of them impacted the suit one ripped a gash across the back. The gash quickly resealed but Buck had to turn away at the sight of a large piece of metal protruding from the back of the helmet.

"Yah, a nasty sight indeed. Even I was surprised that yuh survived that'n." Coyote said as the scene shifted to the inside of a scrap-collecting barge.

"Boss, I've got a body on the scope." A tiger called into his headset.

"Leave it. There's no money in dead bodies."

"Sure boss, but it looks like it's one of those self sealing suits. The helmet looks shot but..."

"Bring it in! Even if it isn't complete I'll make more off selling that suit then off all the metal scrap we've collected!"

"Imagine their surprise when they discovered yuh were still breathin. I'd show yuh how they took you around to several medical units and I adjusted things to make sure yuh ended up with Dirk. As well as how he used his special gifts and the power of the others to heal yuh but time grows short." Coyote grinned at buck and then grew to enormous proportions.

Buck screamed as Coyote suddenly gulped him down in one bite.

* * *

Dirk slid to an abrupt stop and the fur on his back stood on end as Buck suddenly sat up and screamed in terror.

Buck panted as his mind slowly awoke to reality. "God damned dog! If you weren't already dead I'd find a way to kill you myself. Then again maybe I'll just flush what's left of you through the stations sewage system." Buck said as he got to his feet and headed toward the door.

"Um, Buck, who are you talking to?" Dirk asked in a trembling voice.

"That damned, damned Kah-Har dog of yours who just spent the night screwing with my mind!" Buck yelled as he spun around.

Dirk sprinted across the room as Buck screamed again and started to fall. "You've spoken with Coyote too?"

"Yeah, just before he decided to use my mind as a chew toy. Daca! My head is shocking killing me. What in Lightstripe's name did he do to . . . me?" Buck whimpered the last word as the pain suddenly vanished. He looked into Dirk's golden eyes and pulled him into a passionate kiss.

"I can't tell you how happy I am to see that you've found your inner self." Buck said, finally breaking the kiss after several minutes.

"You may not have the word but that is a very good start on showing me how you feel."

"Mmmm, as much as I'd love that to be a start it'll have to wait. It seems that your ... guardian has filled my head with things that I'd rather not know." Buck said as he got to his feat and began to pull on his combat clothing.

"Such as?" Buck asked as looked at his human sized clothing.

"Things like an Imperiam Fleet is approaching and there is no way the station is going to be able to..."

"Citizens of Big Hub Station please return to your living pods and prepare yourselves for emergency acceleration." A voice echoed throughout the station.

"Yeah, anyway there is no way we'll be able to out run them. So The Dog filled my head with knowledge on how to out gun them." Buck looked up at Dirk who was doing a fairly good job of covering himself with only his tail. "Oh please tell me you aren't form restricted."

"Form restricted?" Dirk whimpered.

"Let's hope not. Close your eyes, that's right, now imagine a mirror, can you see yourself?"

"Yes."

"Good now concentrate and change the image in the mirror into your human form."

Dirk concentrated on the image staring back at him. At first he couldn't even get a whisker to twitch but slowly the fur faded away and he found that he was looking at his human face.

"See that wasn't so hard. With a little practice you'll be able to shift back and forth with just a thought." Buck said as he finished getting dressed, "Here, considering what we're about to get ourselves into you'd better wear the combat gear I keep for my human form." He said as he started pulling clothing out of one of the bags.

"But it isn't going to fit." Dirk said as he pulled on his boxers.

"Don't worry, as long as you're human the clothing will fit. After all it was designed not only to be effective in combat but also to adjust to the wearer if he has to shift."

"So Coyote imparted information about how to operate the station's defense cannons? I'm not sure what good that will do after all, by now they're all manned and ready to fire."

"Take the spare shoulder harness and pistols as well." Buck said as he secured his own harness.

"But I don't ... Oh, I guess I do know how to use them. Man, I didn't realize how much training I'd lost because of the V.R. lag until now." Dirk said as he secured the weapons. He quickly grabbed the medicine pouch and tucked it into a pocket of the combat vest.

Buck cocked his head slightly and then shrugged.

"Hey if we're going to get into a fight I want to be able to patch up any wounds we receive."

"I didn't say a thing. I was just thinking that when this is over I'm going to have to tell you a story about the origin of some of the stuff you've got in that pouch. Now come on were going to surprise the Imperiam with the true purpose of the Big Hub Battle Station a.k.a. Nanxu'rilt, Jahar Kre'dah Kah-Har." Buck nearly choked as he realized that he had spoken in the ancient language of the Kah-Har and it was the same as Shendrin the old language of his home world.

* * *

"So where are we going?" Dirk panted as he tried to keep up. He wanted to laugh at the fact that before he'd met Buck he considered himself to be in good physical shape.

"To wake the devil."

"All right enough with the metaphors. Just tell me already!"

"We're going to bring this station's primary weapon on line, destroy the Imperiam battle group that is approaching the station, and then likely be executed for our actions. Or if we are very, very lucky escape and find a deserted world were know one can ever find us." Buck said as he slowed to a fast walk to allow Dirk to catch his breath.

"You make it sound like we're going to be using one of the forbidden Kah-Har weapons. However there is no such weapon on the station otherwise it would have been found by now." Dirk said as they stopped in front of a door clearly marked "Cleaning Supplies".

Buck opened the door, and sure enough the room was filled with assorted cleansers, brooms, mops, and cleaning robots. He grabbed Dirk's arm and pulled him inside and the door slammed shut.

"You're just screwing with my mind now, aren't you?" Dirk asked.

"Ares rilt'onah!"

"Fine, I'll open the door just as soon as I can find the latch. Oh, never mind." Dirk said as a portion of the back wall slid into the floor.

"You know ancient Shendrin?" Buck asked as they entered the small room.

"No, but I do know the Fox Clan language and that it is based on the original Kah-Har tongue."

"Well that's good to know because from the looks of things everything in here is written in the Kah-Har language." Buck said as he slid into what was obviously the gunner's chair. "All right you take the technician's seat."

"Right, according to the manual the first step is to raise the control turret by pressing button A3 on panel C2." Dirk said as he flipped the switch.

"Where did you get a manual?" Buck asked, as he quickly belted into his seat to keep from shaking onto the floor as the room started to rise.

"It was just sitting here on the technician's seat. Oh and according to the instructions we need to put on these space suits since the control room has to be a vacuum before the weapon can be used." Dirk said as he carefully walked across the room to a locker. He pulled out two rather bulky suits and then fell to the floor as the control pod stopped moving.

"Does the manual say why the room has to be depressurized?" Buck asked as he removed his seat belt, walked over and helped Dirk to his feet.

"Probably but that's on the next page and I figured it would be better to get the suits on as quickly as possible. Just in case everything is automatic after flipping the first switch." Dirk replied as he pulled on the space suit.

Buck didn't waste any time following his example. Once the suit was sealed the material contracted until it was a perfect fit for the occupant. He stepped back toward the gunner's chair only to discover that the artificial gravity had shut down. He grabbed the back of the chair to stop him self and then buckled himself back into position.

"Oh, there was nothing to worry about, the cabin can only depressurize once the sensors confirm that the gunner and technician are properly protected. The reason is because..." Dirk went silent.

Buck tapped the side of his helmet thinking that his communications system had stopped but then he noticed that he could hear Dirk breathing. "And the reason is?"

"This is ... we're not ... you can't be serious! This is a shocking Exp. 39 super cannon! We can't ... do you know what happened the one time a cannon like this was used!" Dirk screamed into his helmet's microphone.

"Actually yes, I know exactly what happened. Lord Lightstripe, he would be the hereditary leader of all shifters by the way, fired the super cannon and destroyed his target."

"Oh sure he destroyed his target. But the blast also destroyed his ship, crew, and reduced an uninhabited planet in the outer Accordan system to little more than gravel!"

"Ah, but that cannon was built by humans. This one was built by the Kah-Har. Now what is the next step to bringing this bad boy online!"

"The concussion and noise from the blast would kill us." Dirk said as he began to work the foot pedals and two levers.

"What? Oh I get it. So what are you doing now?"

"I'm moving the control station around the ring. Luckily we're running away from the Imperiam otherwise this insane plan wouldn't work. Or hadn't you noticed that the outer ring is in your line of fire? Anyway you should still be able to get a clear shot over the stations primary engines."

"Listen, I know you're not happy about this and truth be told I'm not exactly excited about it either but it is either this or we let the Imperiam destroy the station and us with it. And now that I have my memory back I refuse to loose you again." Buck said as he started checking the systems.

"Damn." Dirk said as he tried to wipe away the tears.

"What is it?"

"We're now in position but now I've got to rotate the cannon magazine into position." Dirk said as he blinked the tears away.

"What do you mean? According to my panel the Exp. 39 is already in place."

"Of course it is. Each shot only requires a few grams of the element. However it seems that the cannon barrels can only be used for a single shot."

"You mean I'll only have one shot at this?"

"No according to my board there are six barrels in the magazine giving us a total of three shots. But that isn't the real problem." Dirk replied as the cannon magazine finished its rotation.

"I hate to ask this but what is the real problem?" Buck asked as he engaged the barrel locks and began rotating the super cannon to point at the advancing fleet.

"If I'm reading this correctly without the exp. 39 this is just a giant water cannon. To use it as it was intended both elements are needed for the explosive reaction."

"Well that explains why I have a gauge showing the stations water reservoirs. Nothing to worry about, we're at ninety percent." Buck said as he aimed for the Imperiam fleet. Suddenly an image flashed across his helmet face plate showing a close up of where he was aiming followed by a zoom out to the point where the energy of the shot would dissipate enough to no longer be harmful, "My God! With this cannon we could easily target anything within two light years. The energy from the blast travels faster than light."

"That is interesting but as I was saying you only have two shots due to the fact that only the primary water conduits have been connected to the ice hub. In other words don't miss."

"I won't." Buck said as he once again lined up his shot. He took a deep breath let it half out and began to squeeze the trigger.

"This is Combat Control to unknown gunner please respond."

Buck bit his lip, "What do you want? In case you haven't noticed I'm a bit busy at the moment."

"Hold your fire. I say again, hold your fire. The Imperiam ships have signaled us that they are only here to evacuate their personnel."

"Right, and I'm the shocking Easter Bunny."

"Say again?"

"You wouldn't get the reference even if I did." Buck said as he turned and looked back at Dirk. He pointed to his helmet and then waived his finger between them.

Dirk nodded and turned back to his console, "All right, we're on a private frequency but I can't guarantee they won't break in again."

"Like I said if we do this we're not going to be seen as heroes. So are we going to do this?"

Dirk stared at the image of the Imperiam fleet on the monitor; "It seems what it comes down to is whether I trust Coyote or the word of the Imperiam. It doesn't take a full battle fleet to evacuate a few agents. I pray the Gods take pity on any innocent souls aboard those ships."

"And may God have mercy on our souls." Buck said as he squeezed the trigger.

The station lurched as the energy discharge pushed it up to jump speed automatically engaging it's Freem engines and taking it toward the coordinates last entered in it's navigational computer. As for the Imperiam fleet all that remained was a cloud of metal fragments ranging in size from a grain of sand up to a human fist.
