#4 of Dragons Lair

Myra woke up first. She looked at a sleeping Michael and kissed him. She got out of bed and prepared for another day of work. Michael woke up as she was getting ready, "Going somewhere Scales?"

Myra turned around and put her hands on her hips. She smirked and dropped them again and continued getting ready, packing a small bag with her research. "Yes. Unlike you I have to work today."

"I have to work too you know. I have to learn your language."

Myra realised that she had been speaking to Michael in Draconian since he had the armband on. She felt so guilty for being so insensitive to him, talking an alien language in front of someone she only met a day ago. "I am so sorry for not speaking English to you." She said in English, "I forgot you had it on and I expected you to understand me."

Michael could see she was upset and went up to her and looked into her eyes.

"Look. It's ok for you to talk Dragon -"

"Draconian"

"Sorry. It's ok for you to talk your native tongue. I understand it while I have the armband on. Now for more pressing matters, do you have anything to eat on this ship Scales?"

Myra stopped looking, realising that Michael needed food at least twice a day, whereas she had one huge meal every 2 days. She said, "Let's go to the mess hall and see what I can get you. I'm afraid you will have to settle for a carnivorous diet. We don't eat fruit or vegetables."

"I'll live. My body has a good ability to take what it's given without too much fuss."

"Do all Humans have that ability?"

"No, only a few percent."

"Interesting."

Myra and Michael went outside, both wearing nothing, Michael carrying Myra's bag. She led him to a large hall filled with long tables and benches. There were a few Dragons that were isolated in conversation. Some stared at Michael but he didn't care.

"There's one thing that's been bugging me all night and I have to ask you."

"What is it Michael?"

"Can you really breathe fire?"

Myra chuckled then looked away from Michael. She opened her mouth and 2 streams of liquid shot out from the sides of her mouth. They met about a foot away and ignited when they met. The fire length depended on how long Myra sustained it. She looked back at Michael, who was in shock, and smiled.

"Does that answer your question?"

"Yeah. I didn't expect it to be that long though."

"I have powerful lungs."

"I bloody noticed."

"We can also do spit balls."

"Spit balls."

"Balls of spit that are on fire, for aerial to ground combat."

"Interesting."

They went to the serving window and the Dragon behind the counter said,

"Regular for 2?"

"No. Large for one please."

"None for your friend?" The Dragon said while gesturing to Michael

"He's sharing with me. It's quite a stupid flaw in their physiology really." Myra replied

"I can understand what you are saying, you know?" Michael said with his arms crossed. The Dragon cook could understand, due to the armband translating for everyone within earshot. Myra looked down and said, "Sorry Michael."

"It's ok Myra"

When Myra had their food they sat down on an empty table and they both dug in. Saiu saw them and walked over to sit with them. He sat opposite Michael.

"Hey Saiu" Michael said.

"Hey Michael." The green Dragon responded. He looked at Myra. "Myra, have you completed all the tests necessary on the Humans?"

"Almost, but I am unsure if my data is complete."

"How so?"

"Well they have something called the internet. I have searched all over the planet for it but I am not able find it"

"That's easy." Michael started, "Just get me to a satellite and give me a computer and I'll give you all the internet you want."

Myra and Saiu both looked at each other and then at Michael, who was eating away at Myra's meal.

"You say you can do it? Are you lying?"

"I can do it. Its basic computer skills, but I need a computer to access it."

"We have no computer."

"I thought so. I have one, but I need to go back to Earth to get it."

"Myra, give him what he needs."

"I will warn you though. Some of the material on the internet I won't think you'll like."

"Yes sir. Why not Michael?" Myra asked

"It has pictures of animals mating. People drew most but there is a section devoted to male Dragon intercourse."

"How do you know that?" Saiu asked

"Because I downloaded it to keep on my personal hard drive." Michael responded without looking up at either Dragon once. On hearing it Myra was taken aback and Saiu was in shock. "You will be surprised at how sexually driven Humans are when I get the internet connected from here."

"Myra, get him to his planet and get his computer. Michael, you will accompany her. Use distortion fields. Teleport outside his house. I want everything you possibly have on Dragons Michael."

"Let me put on my pants. See you guys in a minute" Michael said before hurrying off to get his clothes.

"Pants?" Saiu queried

"Items of clothing. I know, it's stupid, but it's what they do."

Saiu thought for a couple of minutes, "But why -"

Saiu was interrupted by Michael running back into the mess hall with his trousers on. He sat back in his original seat.

"We ready?"

"Let me finish my meal, and then we can go." Myra said

Michael looked though his pockets and found his house keys and his phone. He put them on the table and looked at them.

"What are they?" Saiu said

"This." Michael said while holding up his phone, "This is a phone. You communicate with it from 2 different locations. These are my house keys, they will get me in the house if I locked the door."

"Interesting, did you get these decontaminated?"

"No idea. Myra?"

"Let's go." Myra said as she stood up. Michael was waiting by the doorway, and followed as Myra went to the teleportation room.

"This is a distortion field generator" She said, holing up another armband. "It will render you completely undetectable. Take everything you need. Signal to me when you are finished."

"Sure thing, Scales." Michael said as he took it and put it on. He stood next to Myra and they disappeared in a flash of white light.

It was a sunny afternoon in London. Michael wasn't interested. He saw that his house had been broken into, and said to Myra, "Did you do that?"

"No. I didn't take you up."

Michael entered, followed by Myra. He went up the stairs that led to his flat and saw police everywhere, with his mum and dad crying while sitting on his bed.. "What are they doing?"

"Trying to find me."

"I thought you said they didn't care about you?"

"They don't." Michael said before moving on to his study. It was a small room with 2 monitors and a TV. A tablet PC was in its docking station."

"Do I just pick it up Scales?" Michael asked

"You can interact with things outside the field, but they can't interact with things inside the field. I'm a little concerned though. If we leave now we would attract the attention of everyone. We need to get everyone out of the house."

"Leave it to me." Michael said. He found a lighter and went into the kitchen. He opened the cupboard and took out some lighter fluid for a barbecue and sprayed it all over the cooker. He lit the lighter and took the rest of the fluid away from it. He lit the fluid and set the smoke alarm off. He took the fluid can and the lighter and went back to Myra.

"It's working" she said, "They are evacuating the building, but your parents are staying behind."

"Why?"

"I don't know, but we must get out soon or we will die."

Michael put the tablet in a big bag and disconnected his PC. He took one of the monitors and all the cables and accessories. He took the charging cable for the laptop and a whole drawer of various cables and put them in the bag. He saw his parents sit on his bed from the study.

"We must go." Myra said. He hurried and took everything he needed, as well as his external hard drive.

"Ready?"

"Almost."

Smoke was now thick at the top of the room. There were fire engines outside and a fireman had come in to rescue his parents. Michael shouted, "Ready!"

"Let's go."

The fireman had thrown Michaels parents over his shoulders and turned to leave. His parents watched a white light in the study appear then disappear after a few seconds.

Saiu was in the teleporter room when Michael and Myra teleported in.

"Did you get everything?" He asked eagerly

"Yes but brace yourself for a big shock."

"I have set up the briefing room for you Michael."

"Thanks." Michael replied. He tried to pick up the bag but it was too heavy. Myra picked it up after seeing Michael struggle. She made her way to the briefing room with Michael and Saiu following her.

"That tail is so sexy." Michael said to himself, unfortunately Saiu heard.

"What?"

"I love that tail"

"She is beautiful isn't she?"

"Yup. I love her and she knows it."

"More than I ever got."

"Sorry I'm not interested in you Saiu" the Dragon said, looking down. Michael put an arm around Saiu. "I now have a mate and 3 hatchlings so I'm not interested in her anymore." Myra walked into the briefing room and put the bag on the table. Michael walked in and saw the council sitting there.

"I have studied your planet carefully and built this for power conversion." Myra said as she held up a box which had 4 standard 3 pin plugs on it.

"Thanks." Michael said as he plugged it in to the wall. He took out of the bag his monitor and base unit and started to wire them up correctly.

"The Human knows something moderately complex." The same Dragon that insulted him before said. Michael threw down the cables he had in his hand and walked out of the room, to the shock of the whole room. Myra glared at the Dragon before following Michael out. She found him at the end of the corridor sitting down, knees below his chin. Myra sat down next to him, "I know how you feel."

"No you don't" Michael snapped back

"Yes I do, because I felt so angry I wanted to kill that Dragon next time I saw him."

"What did he do to you?"

"He raped me. From then on I hated Sam for the rest of life." Myra said with tears in her eyes. Michael looked at her and saw she was deeply distressed. He wrapped his arms around her, making sure he didn't hurt her wings, and said, "Ok you do know."

He pulled her closer and kissed her with more passion than ever before. She was surprised that Michael was this good. They released and Myra said, "Why didn't you do that before?"

Michael replied, "That was my little surprise for you."

They got up and went back into the briefing room. Michael sat down and Myra sat next to him, trying to learn what Michael was doing with the computer.

After a few minutes and an 8 way extension lead Michael turned on the computer. The Windows XP logo appeared and Myra had hooked it into the large screen so they could all see that the computer was doing. He logged in and the Dragons were amazed by what they saw next. There was a folder marked Dragons and Michael had a Dragon as his background. He was a true fanatic. The armband on Michael's arm was translating it for everyone in the room and Saiu, who was sitting down until then, stood up as the Dragon on Michaels background was a green very similar to Saiu's colour. He sat back down again when Michael went into the settings and covered up the Dragon. He found the satellite on the connections and connected to it. He opened up his browser and went to a site filled with pictures of Dragons. Myra grabbed his arm and said, "Who did these?"

Michael smiled, "I did. Every Dragon you see on this website was drawn by me on my tablet." He took the tablet and turned it on. "Let me show you one I had in progress. Oh yes. Do you want to download the whole of the internet?" Saiu nodded without taking his eyes off the Dragon on the screen.

"Right. Let me just build something to do that" Michael said

"I'm good at building. Can I help?" a male Dragon said

"Sorry. It's not that type of building." Michael said as he fired up a scripter and started working on a program to download the whole of the internet.
