It was a very muggy summer evening in Palmont City. As families and loved ones were heading home to the cool of air conditioning, the crews around Palmont were stirring for the night. And the predators of the downtown district were in their garage they lived at tuning up for the night. One of the local crews, the Miracle Mile had challenged the Predators to a turf race. The Lost Diablos Kings would host the race on their turf, San Juan, one of the district boroughs of Palmont CIty, as they had no dealings with either crew. This was going to be a 2 vs 2 Team match. A sprint from point A to Point B. Akhet Riley, also known as Snowball, and his sister, his mate, and his best friend Ace headed up the Predators. They were a team of rejects who made a name for themselves in the Palmont/Rockport area. And for the last couple years, a race like this was nothing new to them. But as they drove to the territory where this would all go down, Snowball was feeling a bit nervous. Normally he'd pop some pills to calm his nerves, but his sister flushed them. She had refused to let him go down his drug induced path again. And now he was worried that she might be in harms way. He's never really had her run on turf challenges or crew take downs before. But his buddy Ace was right about the fact that she had to learn. She was the second in command of the team. All three of them could see the start line. Ace broke off and headed towards the finish while the other two began their approach to the starting line. It was hot alright, and the siblings stepped up to the plate tonight as the Eclipse and Tigra-A they drove were getting into position next to a classic 50's Mercury and Bel-Arie. Miracle Mile were a group of 50's owners who were out to prove that the classics were as good as the newer cars. Nothing is OEM on these cherry cars. That was for sure. It was going to be a rough one but they were ready. A black panther was standing to the side, RJ. He coordinated not ony the crew races in the two cities but the blacklists as well. The Black list was the best drivers in both cities. Snowball was at number 4. But this wasn't a blacklist challenge. RJ Approached to the two lead cars, the Bel Aire and Snowball's Eclipse, "Okay listen up. Los Diablos Kings are hosting this challenge. Miracle Mile is challenging for the Predators Territory. The Kings will be blocking thes streets off and acting as my eyes out there. Predators, you cheat, you surrender your territory. Miracle mile, you cheat, you forfeit your right to challenge for the month. This is a one way sprint. T Here is no pinks and no cash on the line. A Team must have BOTH of their members across the line first. Are we good?" All 4 drivers nodded at RJ. "Alright Boys and girls, heat 'em up!" All four cars revved to life as the nights fateful event was about to begin.........

Meanwhile else where in Palmont.

"Charlie VIctor-1 This is Palmont Dispatch, we've got a report of potential street racing activity in the downtown district, I have ground units clear a call see if you can scout out a head, Over." "Copy that Dispatch, We are 2 minutes out of that location, we'll report in when we have something, 10-4." The Chopper whirred overhead as it thundered across the city using it's FLIR cameras to detect their targets. It wasn't long before the chopper had spotted the racers over at North San Juan, just over the bridge from Fortuna District. "Dispatch, Four suspects spotted, Two Imports, 2 Classics, One an be easily identified as a Bel Aire. Can't miss thta design. Requesting support to the areas, Over. "Copy that Charlie Victor-1, rerouting all available units to the location, maintain visual contact with them but do not spook them. I repeat, do not spook them. Over." The pilot nodded, "Copy that dispatch Charlie Victor-1 Out." Captain Kanock had sat back in his chair after listening to the conversation as he looked over at the young detective standing before him, "Kriss, you think you can make this happen? Rockport hasn't been bothered to work with us, this is a small matter as they put it, but I want these racers off the streets." Detective Kriss nodded, "We'll get 'em. And if we don't, I have a backup plan, Captain. Although it would be a bit unorthadox in normal eyes." Kanock raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Taking lessons from your father are you?" Kriss laughed, "He wasn't wrong, about having a backup plan." "Alright," Kanock said, "Lets hear it." Kriss crossed his arms, "Full infiltration of the Black List. Rockport City Police along with Rosemont Police haven't been bothered to keep us in the loop, so why not do it ourselves. We send a skilled driver in to act as someone battling up the black list. We know that the top 5 drivers are the ones who have the best knowledge of how they operate in the cities. If we can get to them, from their side of the coin, we should have no problem taking down the street racing crews. Plus there's the added bonus that one of them may lead us to where the Deywu Cartel is operating from. They have to have good drivers right? Black List. All I'm saying...sir." Kanock looked very impressed albeit a bit concerned, "Excellant, but who do you propose to do the infiltration work?" Kriss had pointed to himself and the captain almost choked on his coffee, "You? You've never done this kind of work, you have no idea how...." Kriss had interrupted him, "No but there isn't anyone on this entire department who can drive like I can. I'm the perfect match for this." The sly fox got a look on his face as he grinned at the old grizled Bulldog behind the desk. "Don't make me regret this or I'll have more than just your badge, Kriss. You hear me?" "Yes sir, I'll have the boys at R&D make sre that any tracking devise used on my 240sx can't be detected by any of them." And with that, he departed the office and walked away feeling pleased about himself.

WHAM! The sound of an Eclipse and a Bel-Arie trading paint was unmistakable as they teams raced through San Juan to the bridge that would take them to Fortuna. The route was to terminate in the downtown distract outside their garage where the streetcars ran. But these old classics were no senior citizens, they had been fully beefed up and even the mighty Mitsubishi 4G63 engine of Snowballs was falling behind. And it wouldn't take long before Be Aire took the lead. "Bro! I remember looking at a map of this place, follow me!" And before he could say anything, Dekota initiated her nitrous system and was leaving the mercury and Eclipse in the dust as she rode along side the Bel Aire. The driver tried to take a swipe at her but she weaved hard to the right with her brother in tow as the tuners raced up some stairs and onto a pedestrian bridge that was no wider than their cars. They smashed and crashed through benches and sidewalk cafe tables, weaving over the road below that the Mirical Mile crew as on befor taking a turn to the right. This is where the pedestrian footbridge had angled sharp to the left with no railing. It was going to be tight.

Dekota and Snowball were scouts. What that meant is during races they looked for shortcuts that they could utilize to shave time and position off their runs. Having grown up in Palmont and Rockport gave them an edge in knowing, and hey a GPS system in their cars didn't hurt either. Just as they rounded the corner on the footbridge above they saw the straightaway and the part where the unrailed stairs down to the left were.. At this point they were running parallel to the road. "Alright Bro, ready! Set! ARM!" The siblings activated their switch panels, remote valves opening as they prepared for the jump. Dekota and Snowball both burned biofuel and to prevent engine knocking they layered it with Methanol Injection. But only they were daring enough to mix tht with Nitrous Oxide into the engine. Snowball's other sneaky trick was that the second bottle in his trunk that was painted to match his nitrous bottle, was actually a Cry2O bottle. It was liquified cold air he sprayed in junction with the Meth/Nitrous combination over his intercooler. When they were ready they synced themseves and than slammed the purge buttons on their steering wheels as the sound of mixtures could be heard shooting through the tubes running under them and into the engines. The Tigra and the Eclipse roared as they both lurched forwards and as Dekota got to the edge she lept off it with her brother's Eclipse behind her.

He had gotten more lift than her tigra did and he was jumping over his sister as they landed onto the road which had begon to turn left slowly. Both of them landed in front of the Mercury and Bel Aire with a loud thud as they kept their speed and their momentum up, both accelerator pedals to the floor as they each shifted into fifth ger and screamed across the bridge. But they weren't alone, the classic cars had initiated their own nitrous burst and were keeping pace. Right out of the bridge and into Fortuna, Snowball pulsed his e-brake and tapped his brake with the back of his leg, holding his paw down on the accelerator as he forced his all wheel drive car to drift around the corner, his stabilization system in his shocks compensating and keeping him upgrade as his sister let her fwd do the braking and fishtailing for her as she kept her paw off the brake and let the steering wheel brake for her. The night was calm, being broken ony by the racers. But the Police were ready as the chopper had stayed overhead and the first spike strip was about to be deployed.

From the distance, Kriss leaned on his 240sx as he could see the race in progress from his location, Purple than Pink than Yellow, than Red underbody lights all shown. "Number four.....Interesting." Kriss had familiarized himself with the top twenty on the Black List. "All Units Four suspects headed your way, Purple, Pink, Red and Yellow lights under their cars, can't miss them. Botch this one up and I'll have all of you scrubbing the latrines for the rest of your careers." Kriss got into his 240sx and prepared to initiate the first part of his undercover plan. There wasn't an officer there tonight that knew about his 240sx as he normally took bus to work . He sped off heading towrads the roadblock. And a roadblock it was, 3 Rhinos, aka Ford Explorer SUV's, 4 Dodge Chargers lined up in front of them and a pair of high speed C7 Corvettes on the sides ready for pursuit as the cops ran throwing the spike strips down. "SHIT! Dekota Swerve, We're going to have to go around." "WHAT!? I Just got this bumper!" "I'll buy you a new one, unless you'd like to spend the next 25 to life in prison!" they swerved opposite sides towards the Corvettes. But so did the Bel Aire and the Mercury each slamming into the siblings bumpers to try and help them break the barricades. Rivals? Yes. But out here, racing was a community, a brotherhood, and the respect the racers had for each other was a bond that would alwys be there. And Miracle Mile had no intention of leaving their opponents to get busted. Some how, THey managed to slam the fiberglass C7's into the chargers which slowly grinded up against the explorers out of the way but damage ws done to all cars involved including side mirrors, but they kept running. "This race isn't over yet, Predators, We'll reconfigure the finish line if that's okay with you." Snowball nodded, "Where did you have in mind and think quick." "Kempton," The Bel-Arie's driver said, "That spot where Rising Sun hangs out." "It's the closest one from here bro, and we got our own set of problems." "Alright lets do it, watch for any and all Police interception."

Once again the race was on as they all slid around the corner that would take them to the Kempton District while the police lights flashed in their rearview mirrors as they screamed down the road. Bt they were ahead of the roadblocks, swerving and dodging around every turn to avoid them. As they approached, however, the Palmont City police department had one more trick up their sleeves as 3 choppers chased them in the air. Just as they crossing the line in Kempton there were 20 Rhino SUVs sat there with riot officers out front, The race waas tight and as Snowball and the Bel Aire again jockeyed for position Snowball crossed and drifted to a sidewats stop while the Bel-Aire went up and over onto the sidewalk nearly taking out a couple pedestrians to get away down the back alley. Dekota and the Mercury were almost neck and neck. Dekota put her paw down hard to the floor as she pulled her shifter back for fifthand it seemed they were tied if not for the fact that the Merury had dropped a tailpipe and was being drug down in speed. They both slammed to a hult. But here in lied the problem. The cops were behind them t a distance stopped, the sirens blaring. And here was this army of riot polie in front of them. They had no where to go except for one opening whih was blocked. A Rhino was charging at them as Snowball tried to spin around to get away. It was a back alley that diagonally connected to the road that the Bel-Arie and swerved down where a red blur came out of no where. And before the Rhino could nail Snowball to the guard rail, the rhino got t-boned and hard. It spun around but eventually fell over on it's side from the weight of the vehicle. "Go! Get outta here now!" was all that was heard on the radio. Snowball, Dekota and the Mercury took off down the side street with the red 240sx following them. But by the time the police could initiate, they were gone, lost in Kempton.

About thirty or so minutes later, they met up with the Bel-Arie back at Predators Territory, downtown at the garage. "Well, Predators, despite the incident, I think I have to give that one to you. Well Played." "You know," The Mercury's Owner said, "If my tailpipe hadn't dropped, I'd have had you." Dekota laughed, it was true though. And snowball said, "Before you guys take off let me fix that pipe temporarily so it won't drag." and before anyone could object, he was duct taping it back on. He turned to the Fox in the red 240sx, "Hey, thanks, man. You have impeccable timing." "I was just out at the right place at the right time is all. Names Kriss." he extended his hand and Snowball shook it, "Snowball. That's Dekota. Ace is probobly somewhere around here and these guys are......gone...." The Miracle Mile had taken off in case the cops decided to come snooping around their rivals. "So what brang you that far out, Don't ge tto many people from Rockport showing up to a crew race." he pointed at the plate on the Nissan. "I recently had a Skyline engine brought in and swapped over. Was out giving her a break in run." "Skyline?" Dekota said inquisitively, "Twin Turbo RB26DETT?" Kriss nodded, "Those," Snowball said, "Are very difficult to get over here legally. Might I inquire HoW you got yours?" The sly fox smiled, "Paid a junkyard man to pull it from an illegal skyline that was about to be crushed." "Good Deal. Thanks again for the backup, now if you don't mind, I need to tend to my baby's wounds."It was at that point that the wounded Eclipse and Tigra were driven into the garage bays as both the siblings went to inspect the damage. Snowball's voice could be heaard as he got hsi cell phone out, "Yeah it's me, yous till go those mirrors? Yeah I need four of them, and another one of those Tigra vumpers....." It was a amazing how Dekota's bbumper was smashed up but still bolted from the top.

"Ouch." was all Kriss could muster. But he waved goodbye and got in his car as he qietly said on his radio, "Phase 1 success, beginning Phase 2."

End.
