Jade awoke and looked around, he couldn't remember were he was.

"Ooh my hewd" Jade said, holding a paw on his forehead, he looked at his paw.

"Blood!" Jade exclaimed in fear where an I? He wondered, he looked around he was in a dark alley leaning against a giant mattress.

Then it hit him like a train all the things.

Jade walked down the street headed to a friend's house when someone grabbed him and pulled him into the alley.

"Hello, you wouldn't be Jade would you?" a venomous voice asked.

"y-yeah I a-am." Jade responded, stammering in fear, he recognized that voice it was Brutus's bully, the name wouldn't come tho.

"Let's go for a climb, shall we?" Jade was carried up the alley stairs on the side of a building, when they reached the top the bully set Jade on the railing.

"Hey I bet you could make that jump." He pointed across the alley to the lower roof.

"Please don't make me jump!" Jade cried, in fear "I I please."

"Do it or I'll drop you to the alley floor and trust me you won't survive." the bully said menacingly.

"O-ok I'll d-do it" Jade replied, he looked out and jumped he watched as he closed in on the ledge then he was falling, he slammed his face into the wall and slid down to where he'd woken up.

Jade looked around, it was getting dark and Jade was scared. He scampered down the alley, the way home forgotten in his panic, and tripped on a cord, Jade landed with a thump.

"Owie!" Jade said as he got to his paws, he looked up and saw a figure rise, two antlers and a cloak.

"Ahhh!" Jade screamed before dashing away, he soon made it to his house and ran in panting.

"Hey buddy what's wrong?" Archer asked.

"M-monster!!" Jade stammered in fear.

"I really doubt that." Archer replied, come on it's bedtime.

"But there was a monster in the alley!" Jade said in protest

"Don't worry it can't get you you'll be fine here." Archer reassured him with a warm smile.

"Fine" Jade gave up Archer went to give have a hug and noticed the blood. He stiffened in alarm

"What happened" Archer asked leading Jade to a sink.

"I fell while running from da monster." Jade replied, knowing full well what really happened.

"Well let's get you cleaned up" Archer replied.

The next morning Archer too the Alley.

"See no monster. . ." Archer noticed a young jackalope. "Hey little guy, what's your name."

"Jackie!" he replied, smiling.

"What are you doing here, Jackie?" Archer asked, concern lined his words.

"I'm alone, no parents" Jackie replied, crawling from the alley.

"Well Jackie, I'm heading home and you look hungry- " Archer began.

"Can I come with you?" Jackie asked, blushing as his response.

"Sure, I couldn't turn you away" Archer replied, he led the young jackalope too his home he carried him into the house and set him on the sofa, "what would you like to eat?"

"Mac and cheese!" Jackie replied, "and do you have grape juice?" Jade watched from the hall as Archer made the jackalope lunch.

"What's up with him?" Jackie asked, glancing at Jade. "Why's he being shy?"

"Not shy, suspicious!" Jade replied, crossing his arms.

"I think it's adorable." Jackie replied smiling.

"humf not cute, not adorable no." Jade said as he stomped his. foot "Come on Jade done be like that." Archer said, looking at him sternly. Jade looked startled "I-I ugh." Jade stammered before he disappeared down the hall.

"Jade's actually pretty trusting, he'll come around, here." Archer said setting the bowl of mean and cheese on the table.

"Did I do something wrong?" Jackie asked as he began to cry.

"No, he's just," Archer sighed as he began, "he's alone in a group if you know what I mean."

"I understand." Jackie replied as he played with his antlers.

"I know what it's like to be different." Jackie said, sniffling. He sat down and started messily eating the Mac and cheese as if he hadn't eaten in a while.

"Hey you done, already?" Archer asked, seeing the empty bowl.

"Yeah, it was good"Jackie replied, licking his lips.

"Come on I'll introduce you to Jade" Archer told him before carrying the young jackalope upstairs.

"Ok." Jackie replied, going happily.

"Jade's actually pretty trusting, he'll come around eventually." Archer said.

Jackie grabbed hold of Archer's shirt. "Ok I hope so he seems nice."

"Jade, come on out." Archer called, carrying Jackie into the nursery.

"Hi Jade I'm Jackie." Jackie called keeping one arm on Archer as he waved towards Jade

"Hi" Jade replied coming out of hiding.

"Hi I'm Jackie the "monster" you were scared of but I'm a kind nice jackalope and I won't hurt you grabs hold of Archer's shirt with both hands." Jackie said.

Jackie walked up to Jade "Hi how are you doing?"

"G-good." Jade replied

"You want to play?" Jackie asked.

"N-no no I don't." Jade told him before he sits down

"Do you like cartoons." Jackie smiled

ears perked up "no."

"Don't lie Jade." Archer said before he began to walk away.

Jade's eyes sparkled, those were his favorites. "Well I don't wanna watch cartoons." He replied, crawling away.

"Before my mom and pa passed they gave me a DVD of season 5 of Tom and Jerry." Jackie said, holding up the disc.

"Ok," Jade said, sounding uninterested, "I've seen that one."

"Well I've seen it too but it won't hurt to watch it again." Jackie countered and Jade crossed his arms. "why are you trying so hard, I don't want to." Jade asked

"Because I want to be your friend," Jackie said, "Your too cute to not wanna be friends with."

"No no no," Jade said, stomping his foot, "your not aloud to call me cute."

"Why not?" Jackie asked

"Only Awcher can becawse that's what he called me as my pawents walked out the dow, for the wast time." Jade said before he crawled away.

"I'm going to put on the cartoon if you want to watch you're welcome to." Jackie said as he puts the dvd in the player and plays it in order. Jade Watched from the other side of the room. "I'm not leaving this spot."

"Are you sure you don't want to watch" Jackie asked as he stared at the television.

"Fine." Jade said, finally giving in here crossed the room and sat in front of the TV, he began to shivers from the cold

"you look cold." Jackie said as he grabs and wraps a blanket around Jade.

"Not cold." Jade said as he threw the blanket side, but continued to shiver.

"you are cold." Jackie said as he hugged Jade, and Jade returned the hug.

"your warm." Jade told him as he began to purr.

"Would you like a blanket wrap around us." Jackie asked as he moved to grab a blanket.

"Nuu, I wanna cuddle." Jade protested pulling him back into a hug.

"Ok." Jackie replied as he hugged Jade and began to cuddle.

"Fank wu." Jade said, purring happily.

"Um do you mind me asking what's your story you're a kitten living with foxes?"

Jade looked away, squeezing his eyes shut to keep from crying "I'm adopted and that's all I'll say."

"It's ok," Jackie said giving him a hug, "I understand."

"Fank wu." Jade said as he settled down beside the jackalope.

"My parents are dead, when they died I went to foster home after foster home so I ran away."

"That's terrible." Jade exclaimed, tearing up a little.

"Yeah." Jackie replied, beginning to cry, Jade wiped Jackie's tears with his tail. "you seem nice." He said, smiling.

"you too." Jackie replied, sniffling.

"I-I don't know w-what Archer will s-say but, I'd w-wike you to be m-my brova." Jade stammered, the statement made him nervous.

"I would love to be your brother." Jackie said, his smile reassured Jade.

"Yay!" Jade exclaimed hugging Jackie, and he returns the hug.

"Awcher!" Jade called, winking at Jackie, and a few moments later Archer walked in. "What is it?" The older fox asked.

"Umm can y-you adopt me J-Jackie?" Jade asked, nervously.

"Sure." Archer replied.

"Yay!" Jackie exclaimed in excitement and hugged Archer. "Umm bad time to tell you this but I'm not potty trained."

"I don't mind, I have one already that isn't potty trained." Archer replied with a smile.Jade giggled as he was referred to and Jackie blushed.

"Do you really mean it?" Jackie asked in happiness, "You want to adopt me?"

"Me and my mom already talked it out," Archer replied, crouching down too Jackie's level. "We had no intention to put you back on the streets"

"Thank you!" Jackie exclaimed as she began to cry tears of joy.

"How old are you buddy?" Archer asked, ruffling Jackie's headfur.

"Two and a half, I think." Jackie replied, not really sure of himself.

"Ok your about the same age as Jade." Archer replied.

"How old is jade?" Jackie asked, glancing at the black kitten, who was currently doing the happy dance.

"About two and a half, a little before," Archer replied, looking over at a spare crib, "You'll meet Justin eventually, he's not here right now so you can sleep in his crib."

"Ok um can I get a diaper change?" Jackie asked, yawning.

"Sure." Archer replied as he picked up Jackie and set him on the changing table and started un-taping his diaper, he cleaned him up before powdering him and taping a clean diaper on him.

"Smells nice." Jackie said suddenly, looking up at Archer.

"It's Jade's favorite." Archer replied with a grin.

"I can see why." Jackie replied, giggling, then Archer lifted him off the table and back to the floor.

"I think you and Jade will get along well." Archer said, but Jackie's only reply was giggles

"Don't worry I'm sure you'll meet Justin eventually." Archer said, as Jackie looked up at him.

"I can't wait to meet him." Jackie replied

"I'm hungwy." Jade said, his belly growling.

"I already ate so I'm not hungry." Jackie said as he smiled at Jade.

"Can wu make me some fwood?" Jade asked Archer, plopping down with a crinkle.

Archer smiled. "sure." he said getting up.

"Can I get some formula?" Jackie asked, yawning.

"Sure." Archer replied heading downstairs.

"Jade we're going to be fast friends." Jackie said as he smiled at Jade who giggled happily. Archer returned with a bottle of formula and a bowl of macaroni and cheese

"Here", hands bottle to Jackie and gives bowl and spoon to Jade.

"Um can you feed me?" Jackie asked, blushing.

"Sure", Archer replied picking up Jackie and laying him in his lap before feeding him.

Jackie closed his eyes and let his body take over as he heard the faint sucking sound of the bottle. Archer smiled warmly at the sight.

"You enjoyed that," Archer said as he finished, "I have a few sleepers, pick one." He held up three different colored sleepers, one being pink.

Jade finish his Mac and cheese "yum!" He said, running his tummy as he rolled onto his back, "I'm tiwad."

Jackie looks at the pink sleeper it reminded him of his mother. "Pink please." He said, yawning.

"Ok." Archer replied as he helped him into it Jackie rubbed the sleeper. "It's so comfy."

"You look comfy, tired?" Archer asked, Jackie rubbed his eyes as Archer lifted him into his arms. "Yes Archer." He replied as Archer carried him to a crib and laid him inside, and soon he drifted away into sleep.
