The Trip

All I hear are the birds chirping, the wind rushing against my red Ford GT. The view is perfect out here in Sedona, while everyone is on summer vacation hitting the warm beaches catching the waves, I prefer to do the thing I've never done before, camp. Whether I will like it or hate it depends on these five days of surviving in the forest. I have given my information to the park ranger incase I go missing during my stay. He advised me to stay away from the mountains since people have reported bears sightings and even attacks to gather food. I didn't pay much attention to that, if I run into problems, I'll always have my iPhone on me in case of emergency or my girlfriend worrying about me. It's a shame most of my friends are in California catching the waves or being on the warm beaches having fun and being social. But I made it my goal I would camp this summer which I did. After an hour worth of driving from the ranger post, I park my car off to the side and gather my supplies. Some things I carried, Phone, charger, battery pack, Tent, sleeping bag, and a propane stove for cooking as well as food. With this, I set up a spot by a river, although it may not have been the smartest place to set camp, it had such a view. I didn't waste time and got my tent set up and prepare myself for the first night, I text my girlfriend everything's fine and try to sleep. When I awake, I couldn't find my backpack with my car keys and food supply. There's no point heading towards the car if I can't open it. I searched everywhere then decided a racoon probably raided my stash overnight. As I head out into the forest I notice some footprints in the ground, too large to be a racoons, so I wondered what it was. It must have been a really large bear. I run towards my tent to text the ranger, only to find the tent raided. I started to freak out whether some people followed me here and are planning to jump me, or if there's a wild bear who has my scent. Either way, I knew staying to long is a dumb idea. I search through the wreckage and find my phone at 67% which is good, the downside is I have one bar left. Recalling on the way here there was no service but maybe if I climbed a mountain then I might be lucky. I start my hike to the nearest mountain which is probably half a mile away but that would mean crossing a river and risking getting the phone wet, or the smarter idea is to take the longer route into a steeper mountain which is from where I was currently at three and a half miles. Not wasting time, I grab my sleeping mag and use one of the tents metal rods as a spear to defend myself from harm. Halfway through the trail and I started feeling sick to the stomach, last night I didn't eat nothing, as well as this morning. If there was no food source for me by the end of the day, my chances of making it through this are slim to none. I go close to the river to see if I could catch anything to eat, as I reach into my pockets, I feel a container, its my matches I would have used to light the stove. Glad I didn't jump in to the water with that, I set the phone and matches off to the side and go in slowly, at first nothing, then a few carp. The current is Strong and I fear of being swept away. Not wanting to run out of energy, I throw the rod to see if it'll hit anything. It missed, mad at myself I go to retrieve the rod and that's when I heard footsteps behind me. Readying the spear, I will defend myself from whats behind me, I turn around and only to see a huge brown bear. At first I thought it was a tree stump, but then to my realization it was the biggest bear I would ever lay my eyes upon. Too scared to move, I watch it stomp on my phone, well there's my last chance of survival I thought to myself. Trying to be intimidating I wave my arms and shout, "HEY, get away from there!" The bear just looked at me and decided I wasn't worthy of his time, he just wandered off at that instance. I then hurry to see if my phone works, with a screen cracked and buttons not working, there's no point. My last resort is surviving four more days. Being stupid as I am, I thought to myself, what if there's a cave on top of the mountain where the bear couldn't reach me, knowing the sleeping bag is still useful, it's not enough warmth for the night. By nightfall, I'm tired, hungry, and desperate for help. The temperature started to drop and I needed shelter, I then decided to hide myself in a cave and block the entrance with rocks and branches. I then dozed off for a while, having a nice dream about this nightmare being over, I awoke to the sound of sucking, by my feet, there it was, the big bear I saw before, the one that raided my camp. I was frozen in shock and could do nothing. I probably deserved this for not taking extra precautions. Although I didn't want to die, not like this. The bear sees me awake and swallows my legs. I felt the warmth of his breath just covering my foot as well as his saliva. I try to pull my feet out but they were stuck. The bear's throat muscles were strong being able to pull me in with a small amount of force. I cry help to see if there were any other campers nearby, there was none. The bear continued to swallow while tearing my pants and shirt. I punch it in the face which only seems to aggravate it more making the bear put his giant paws over my hands. There was nothing I could do. By the time the rangers find me, I'll be a pile of shit. I start to tear up have tears running down my cheek. The bear wasting no time proceeds to swallow and engulf my body. I could feel my toes enter his wet and gooey stomach, not even minutes away from my new prison, I think of all the things that could make this worse. Finally my head is in his mouth and I could smell the scent of hot dogs, beef jerky, and Marshmallows. All a foul smell mixed into one stench. The bear taking its time, I know he is enjoying every moment of this. He then proceeds to send me into his stomach as a whole, i passed the the small gullet which was tight around my waist. My final destination, his belly. It was a dark, small, damp, and humid place to bee with such a powerful stench it almost passed me out. I accept my fate and decide to rest and conserve my energy for hitting it from the inside would only increase the digestive process. The bear lays down of the cold stone ground for his slumber.

Will the character survive?? Part 2 coming soon.
