Ursa minan physiology: The ursa minans are a type of small anthromorphic dragons. The males grow to be over six feet tall on average, and the females usually about five feet. They are covered in tough alligator-like scales that have color changing ability's. The colors of their scales indicate the health of the ursa minan although they can also control what color they are, the natural color is green. Ursa minans are bipedal but are comfortable walking and running on all fours. They have digitigrade legs and three large toes ending with sharp curved claws. Ursa minans have tails that are as long as they are tall and used for balance. The ursa minan torso and arms are very much like a human, and they even have four fingers and one thumb on each hand. However, the ursa minans fingers and thumbs have sharp curved and venomous claws. This venom is a highly concentrated fast acting omni-toxin. It works by dissolving the nerves and blood vessels, it also attacks connective tissue. Ursa minan venom rivals or exceeds the deadliest venom of any earth creature. Without the antidote the fatality rate for a human is one hundred percent, and death can occur in less then five minutes. The ursa minans are immune to their own venom, and it can be found in their blood, muscles and organs, thus the ursa minans can be considered poison dragons. The ursa minans have only small venom glands in their hands, the main venom glands are in the mouth. Ursa minans heads are rather like a raptor although not any specific species. Their eyes are more forward then a raptor, but more to the sides then a human. They also have individual ridges on their heads that can vary greatly. They have snake like noses and simple small holes for ears. The eyes are almond shaped, with a vertical pupil. They can also change their iris color at will, and to much more vivid colors then their scales. The iris colors can indicate their emotional state, in a relaxed state it is gold colored. Ursa minans have less acute hearing then humans do to the much simpler ear structure, and they also have less sense of touch because of their armored scales. However, ursa minans have a far superior sense of smell then humans. They can track animals and people in the same way a bloodhound can, and they also recognize each other by scent. Ursa minans also have the Jacobs organ and forked tongue like a snake. Ursa minan eyesight is significantly greater than humans as they can see into the ultra violet and infrared enabling them to see colors that humans cannot, and superior night vision. The ursa minans have dark colored flexible spines running from the tip of their nose to the tip of their tail. The spines start small on the nose and become larger as they go over the head, then get smaller on the neck, and become largest on the upper back before steadily shrinking as they go down the lower back and tail. The spines can lay flat or be raised at will or as a reaction to surprise and alertness. The number of spines varies between individuals. The females only have spines on their heads. Ursa minans are omnivores, although they do favor meat eating. They have canine teeth and molars. They also feature four venomous fangs that are larger then their other teeth. Ursa minans can spit jets of venom from venom glands in their mouths, they have accuracy up to about two yards. Ursa minan muscles, tissues and bones are significantly denser then humans, and ursa minan muscles grow twice as long as strictly necessary. Although the ursa minan brain is about the same size as a human, it is much more complex as it has many more folds. Also, the ursa minan brain naturally forms neural connections even when not stimulated. This causes such things as eidetic memory, true photographic memory, enhanced problem solving and great creativity to be universal among ursa minans. Ursa minans also have natural empathy, telepathy and telekinesis. Ursa minan empathy only works with each other, and on a subconscious level all ursa minans are aware of the emotional state of the entire species. This gave rise to a strong cultural theme of ursa minans loving each other and commonly being semi-intimate with complete strangers. Ursa minan telepathy is very strong and they use it to share ideas that are too difficult for words. They also use it to strengthen family bonds. Ursa minans can easily enter the minds of humans unnoticed and search memories and even alter them. Ursa minans can learn the language of an alien simply by "scanning" their mind. Only another telepath can block access to their mind from an ursa minan. Ursa minan telekinesis is strong enough to move objects of several tons and can also project destructive force. Ursa minans can fine tune their telekinesis to the point where they can manipulate things on the molecular level. However, the telekinesis has a range of about one mile, unlike the empathy and telepathy that allows closely related ursa minans to communicate over seemingly unlimited distance. With training ursa minans can channel their own telekinesis into their bodies to enhance their strength and endurance by many multiples. A fully mature and trained ursa minan female can easily become one hundred times stronger then even the finest human athletes, with the male ursa minan being even stronger. The ursa minan heart is four chambered, although they are ectothermic and have low cold tolerance. Ursa minans have more then twice as many chromosomes as a human. Ursa minans have a great many more anti-ageing and anti-mutation genes then humans. Ursa minans have superior resistance to disease and parasites as their venom destroys bacteria and viruses on contact. Because they are a type of dragon they have the extreme longevity of dragons, as such the life expectancy of a ursa minan is five thousand years. This life span can be extended indefinitely with hyper advanced ursa minan technology. They also have superior healing abilities then humans. For example, if an ursa minan got a cut the healing would not be over when a scar is formed, their body would rebuild the original tissue. They can also regrow limbs and organs. The ursa minan females are fertile for only one month of the year. The males are fertile for the full year. Because of this their population is lower then earth. During the mating season, the females become colorful and friendlier. Both the male and female genitals are internal when not in use. The male has a single penis that is fleshy pink colored, thickly muscled and one foot long on average. It has ridges along the shaft, a foreskin for extra sensitivity since ursa minans lack sensitivity over the rest of their body, and a glans like a human has. The ursa minans do not urinate through the penis, instead they excrete solid urea from the anus like lizards do. When not aroused, the penis is hidden inside the body like an alligator. The testicles are completely internal. The female has a scaled vulva and a vagina with internal ridges. The vagina is very stretchable and egg laying is easy. The female will lay between one and four eggs during the breeding season. The eggs take about three months to hatch, and the hatchling will be about two pounds.
