Males: Males of this species look like the Hollywood werewolves, bipedal wolves with clawed hands and pointed ears. They have digitigrade legs and typical of most canines a sheathed penis with a knot that swells during copulation to ensure impregnation of their mate. Males are aggressive and antisocial towards non-packmates, the exception to this is an unmated male in rut.* These males will seek out human males which they will then attempt to "court." Pheromones produced by a male in rut are difficult to resist and thus frequently the chosen male, regardless of sexuality, will likely reciprocate the Dogman's advances.**

Females: Females of the species are indistinguishable from human males at a glance, this is because they once were human males that under go a metamorphosis when a male dogman in rut copulates with them. The male dogman's semen has both an addictive quality to untransformed humans, this combined with the pheromones emitted by a male in rut make most mating bonds successful. Stage one females are indistinguishable from human males entirely.

Stage two is the beginnings of the transformation, the male genitalia shrinks, canines become more pronounced, pseudo-mammaries develop, hips widen slightly, ears move upwards become pointed and develop a fine coating of fur, lastly the tail bone lengthens into a small brush-like tail. Internal changes are much more extreme, the spine reinforces, a womb begins forming along with ovaries, these changes cause intense cramps, nausea, and fatigue, combined with an increased appetite.

Stage three or complete females are the final form of a male dogman's mate. The male's hips widen to accommodate the development of a birth canal. Ears become fully canine at the top of the head. Tail fully forms, and the female's sense of smell increases. The male genitalia becomes little more than an enlarged clitoris that is similar to a pseudo-penis, this structure ranges from one to three and a half inches in length does still produce seminal fluid as the subject continues to possess a prostate, this is likely to increase the pleasure of copulation. However, as the testes completely disappear no sperm is produced, instead the new female undergoes a canine like heat. Teats ranging from six to ten develop on a milk line down the female's torso, during pregnancy these enlarge like all mammalian breasts. Interviewed females also seem to be slightly more docile or timid to their formerly male selves, though whether this change is due to brain chemistry changes, social perceptions of their newly female status, or due to the psychological strain of transformation is unknown.

Majority of births result in wolves indistinguishable from local species save slightly larger stature and higher intelligence displays. Approximately one in fifty will produce a female, that is to say a human male, likelihood of this male going unmated is low. One in one hundred births results in a fully male dogman, at puberty they develop the bipedal structure that separates them from normal wolves. In times of pressure though male birth rate increase, or possibly the male wolf children undergo the metamorphosis, whichever is unknown.

Dogmen mate for life and interviews with females and observations show that males are frequently extremely protective of females who are considered full packmates. Additionally males frequently display nurturing and comforting behaviors towards their mates, frequently grooming them."
