Chapter 10

The entire crowd of furs on the bleachers and on the field stopped their cheering and applauding for their winners as they watched them kiss each other. Some gasped, some just stood there in complete disbelief. All eyes were now on Ace and Luke as they finished with their quick but powerful smooch and they looked at each other, Ace with a surprise and worried look, Luke with just a worried look.

The whole area was as quiet as the night itself usually is. No one wanted to say anything, but everyone wanted to scream out there response to what just happened.

"WHHOOOOOO!! GO ACE AND LUKE!! CHAMPIONSHIP WINNERS!!! WHOO!!!" Alice started screaming from her bleacher seat, waving and clapping her white bunny hands.

Ace and Luke both turned to find her, interested in their first approval.

She was one in a million for about 5 seconds, just screaming her head off to get the attention away from what just happened.

"WHOOO! YEA, ACE AND LUKE!!!! CHAMPS ALL THE WAY!!" Suddenly, another cheer came from Thomas, the kangaroo Luke and Ace had befriended.

There were now two cheers going on for them, but then, there became three. Then four.

"YEA!!! GO LUKE!!"

"ACE!!! THAT SHOT WAS AMAZING!!"

"YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!"

Ace and Luke couldn't tell who was cheering for them because the crowd was so large, but it was in fact kids from their English class, who had once saw them kiss each other before, and figured it wasn't just an act they did for Mr. Cross after what they had witnessed tonight.

Many of the classmate's fellow peers saw their friends clap for the two furs, and it got them to join too. Most of the soccer team had already accompanied the other applauders; even some of the opposing players thought the two deserved it.

"YOU BOTH WERE AMAZING!!"

"YEAH!!"

"GO GET 'EM, LUKE AND ACE!!"

"I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!"

The last comment came from Alice again, as she was smiling that almost half the audience was clapping now, most of it being the student body. Though a good amount of it also came from the parents, too. This was high school, they figured, and things like this were probably bound to happen. They might as well hop on the band wagon and clap too.

Eventually, the whole crowd was clapping once again. Luke and Ace figured two things: Either the audience just accepted them, or they chose to forget what they just saw and disregard it as a mirage. Whichever one it was, they were just happy that no one seemed to be bothered by what happened, and they both raised their fists in glory.

They crowd went wild for this, and in droves they all huddled off the bleachers and on to the field to meet and greet both of them. The soccer players got to them first, as they were already on the field.

Luke was hugged by Tails (the ferret) when he got there, and Flake gave him a pat on the back.

"Never imagined this, huh Flake?" Tails said.

"Psshh, I was the first one to think it I bet!!" Flake countered.

Luke just giggled as he saw his partner get hugged by some of the other players. Luke then looked over and saw the heard of furs coming to greet them and give them their own complimentary good jobs and nice games. While looking, he hadn't noticed Coach anywhere in the crowd.

Then suddenly, Luke's left side was grabbed from behind him, and pulled him to the right.

It was Coach. He had gotten behind him and in doing so got all of Luke's body, along with Ace's, and hugged them as big as he ever had.

"HAHA!!! I would've never imagined THIS being how we win champs, but hey, works for me! You guys did awesome!!" Coach exclaimed, as he constricted both Ace's and Luke's body.

"Okay Coach.....that's...too much..." Luke said through gritted teeth.

"Oh! Sorry boys!" And he let go of them gently. "I'm just so happy that..."

SPLASH.

Coach was soon drenched in water from a large container that was thrown on him by one of the team's players, Kaun (a panther).

The whole team laughed, and just for that, Coach made them all get in a big hug together.

It didn't take long for the crowd to get down to the field, and when they did, Luke and Ace were trampled by handshakes and hugs. Many claimed they knew what was going on between them, some people were shocked, but okay with it, and some just ignored it completely and congratulated them on their big win. Luke didn't mind how someone phrased it, as long as they didn't have a problem with what happened he took whatever he got as a compliment. To his surprise, no one actually said anything bad about it.

In all the hustle and bustle Luke eventually lost his vision of Ace. He didn't figure it was a problem though. They were both getting praised for their win, and he would be able to see him after the bunch dispersed.

Alice was struggling to get through the crowd to see either Ace or Luke. She had allowed people to pass her on the bleachers since she didn't want to be rude, but now she was regretting it, because she was unable to get through even four furs. Eventually, she decided it was no use and thought she would just meet up with Ace and Luke after everyone left the field.

But as she suddenly got out of the crowd (it wasn't hard since she wasn't deep in it), she was grabbed by someone, their heavy left arm around her body and their right hand over her mouth and eyes, so she couldn't see....or scream.

Luke was so happy about the win; he didn't really worry about any of his past thoughts, like how his dad was going to take all of this. Suddenly, Luke remembered his dad had been in the crowd at the beginning of the game; chances were that he was also there when he kissed Ace.

Then, out of nowhere, someone grabbed Luke's right arm from the crowd.

The hold was strong, and firm. And it was pulling Luke out of the crowd of people. Luke tried to pull the paw off of him, but was unsuccessful; his culprit was strong, and through the crowd of furs Luke was also unable to see its face.

While he was being pulled out, some furs looked at Luke, wondering what was happening. But when they saw the fur pulling him, they didn't seem to do anything. Luke tried to talk to them as they passed, but they did not respond, and continued onward with the crowd headed for Ace and the rest of the team.

Luke and the fur pulling him finally got out of the crowd; Luke was able to see his culprit.

It was his dad, Mr. Swift.

"Dad, what the hell are you doing?" Luke asked. He knew what he was doing, and he knew his reasoning, but he still didn't like it, and at this point, he figured: How much more trouble can I get into? I might as well talk back and try to change his mind.

Despite his comment, Mr. Swift just pulled harder while his feet walked faster. Luke hadn't noticed her in the crowd, but Mrs. Swift had been right next to his dad the whole time, just not saying anything.

As his dad trudged to the parking lot with Luke trying to resist, Mrs. Swift did not once look at Luke. Luke remembered they had had a discussion about Ace and him, but he figured that she was most likely following his dad's orders now, and didn't want to make things worse. Luke's dad also did not bother to take a glance at his son. Luke wasn't complaining though, because when he looked at his dad now, all he saw was anger and hate. And he did not want that pointed towards him literally, even though it was already, technically.

They eventually got to the car, with Luke still struggling. Throughout the walk Luke tried talking to both of them; pleading, arguing his case...his response continually was, well, nothing. He tried one last time as his father opened the right side door.

"Dad, can we please just talk about this..."

But Mr. Swift had no intention of talking about anything right now, and all he did was take the arm he had been gripping for the longest time, while also grabbing Luke's shirt by the left side, giving him balance to throw Luke into the car.

Luke hit the left car side door with a small thump, and when he did he immediately got up to get back out, while simultaneously his dad shut the door in front of Luke, locking him in.

Luke felt like kicking the door in an attempt to break it open, but he knew he couldn't, and it would only make his father even more furious.

Mr. Swift and Mrs. Swift both entered the car shortly after Luke was caged in, and he was forced to put his seat belt on as they started to leave the school grounds.

It was quiet for the beginning of the drive. No one said anything, and Luke's mom and dad continued to look away from him. He wanted so bad to talk to his father about it all now, which seemed weird to him, since before he was afraid to ever utter anything about homosexuality to his dad. He figured it was because he knew his father saw the kiss, and that everything was already out in the open.

Luke thought it stupid to just keep quiet any longer. He wasn't going to get anywhere with them by not saying anything.

"Dad..." Luke started.

"Shut up." Mr. Swift said firmly, his first reply to Luke since the whole time he had been with him.

Luke was sure this was the response he would get, though it didn't hurt any less, and he looked to his mother for support. Mrs. Swift did nothing and had no reaction to the remark as Luke could tell; she just stared out the front window, seeming to Luke like she was trying to ignore everything around her.

BEEP.

Luke heard his phone beep with a text message, and so did his dad.

"Give me your phone." Luke's father demanded.

Luke had hoped he hadn't heard it, but there was no use now trying to cover it up, so he took his phone out of his pocket and moved his body to stretch out his right paw. While his dad snatched the phone from him, Luke realized that his leg that had once been hit hard by the bear's cleats was recovering quickly. The first little plus of the night, Luke thought.

Mr. Swift opened the phone and took a look at who sent the message. Luke tried his hardest to see who it was while not getting too close to his dad. It was a text from Ace.

Mr. Swift growled at the phone, put down his window, and threw it across the road.

Luke was utterly surprised by his father's actions, since he never wastes important things, but didn't react to it, as his dad could be getting angrier by the millisecond.

About 3 seconds past, and Luke's father loosened his grip on the steering wheel, calming himself down for once. While continuing to keep his eyes on the road, he again talked to Luke.

"When we get home, I want you to pack all your clothes and anything you need with you. We're going back to California."

"What?! Tonight?" Luke said, his eyes widening and his heart beginning to pound.

"Yes. We're gonna stay in a hotel there until we can get all of our other things out of the new house and into the old one."

Luke didn't respond to this for at least two minutes. He was angry, and was deliberating how far he was willing to go with his comments before it was going to be too much.

"I don't want to go back to California. I want to stay here, with..." Luke started.

His dad cut him off.

"Luke, you have two choices at this point. Either you go to California with us, or you get dumped on the way there. You choose." Mr. Swift replied, sounding very serious.

Luke's eyes widened again by his father's comment, but this time it wasn't anger that struck him. It was fear, and pain. His father was truly disgusted by the idea of him with another male, and he had no problem showing it. Luke once again looked to his mother for anything, since he had nothing at this point. She continued to look away from Luke, but he could see her eyes had started to water up, and a tear was beginning to form as she pushed her lips together inside her mouth.

No one said anything the rest of the drive home, because there really wasn't anything else to say. Mr. Swift's mind was made up, and there didn't seem to be anything Luke could do to change it. When they got home, as soon as Mr. Swift opened the door to let his son in, Luke rushed up to his room, shut the door, and locked himself in. His father didn't mind him; he was going to come out of there at some point, he figured.

"You just better be packing in there." Mr. Swift stated, as he banged on Luke's door.

Luke was lying on the bed, trying to forget about everything, and as he heard his dad's voice, he shoved a pillow over his head to block him out.

The pillow did not help in the slightest, as he was able to hear his father's phone ring on the other side of the door.

"Hello?" His father said, sounding still a little agitated.

Obviously, Luke was unable to hear the fur on the other end, but he thought if he listened to his father's response to the caller he might be able to understand the conversation.

"No, Mrs. Grove, I didn't see Alice when I left the school....no, I haven't seen her since then either..."

Luke lifted the pillow from his face, but didn't get up from his bed. He thought if he did, his dad might think he's trying to eavesdrop on the conversation and walk away from the door.

"Well, I'll try to keep a lookout for her....I hope you find her soon. Bye." Luke then heard his father close the phone as he walked away from Luke's door.

Where could Alice have gone off too? I saw her call out to us from the bleachers, but I didn't see her at all in the crowd...where could she be...

Luke got up from his bed. He wasn't sure what to do now. He refused to pack, but he couldn't leave anywhere, since his dad was probably watching for him.

About five minutes past before there was a ring at the door.

Luke's ears went up as he heard the familiar ring, and he looked out his window to see who was at the front door. It was Ace.

Luke's heart began to pound again. Why did Ace have to come here?! If my dad answers the door...I have to stop him-

"Yes?...oh, no.." Mrs. Swift said, as she opened the door to find Ace standing outside.

"Sorry to bother you, Mrs. Swift, but is Luke here?..." Ace started.

As soon as Ace's voice was heard, Mr. Swift's strong legs came rushing to the door. And Luke could hear them quite clearly.

"Mr. Swift..." Ace said. His eyes had opened a little from Luke's dad's confrontational stature and attitude that came from Ace's visit.

"Move out of the way, Lilly...(Mrs. Swift moved very quickly to let her husband enter the door threshold)...Ace, I don't want to hurt you, but if you don't get off of my fucking property right now, I won't be able to control what I do."

Ace understood his reasons, but he was not afraid. He had known Mr. Swift almost as long as he had known Luke, and even though he was angry, he wouldn't do him any harm.

"I'm sorry; I just wanted to make sure Luke got home safely." Ace said, his voice firm.

"He's fine, and he's going back to California with us, far away from here. Now leave, or I'll force you off."

"Okay. Thank you." Ace said, and with that he walked back to his car, not looking back for Luke or anything. Ace figured he would just cause more trouble by staying any longer. Mr. Swift watched him leave, to make sure he was gone for good.

Luke watched all of this as it happened. His heart had been racing as he prayed to himself that his dad would not hurt Ace. His prayers had been answered, and he was relieved, but he did not want things to end like this. This was his last chance. Once Ace was gone, his only option was to leave for California without ever seeing him or anyone else again in Fort Smith.

No. It's not going down like this. Not without a fight.

Luke quickly opened his bedroom window.

At the exact moment Ace got in his car and started the engine, Luke jumped from his 2-story window, rushed to Ace's car that was on the road close to his house, opened the door to the passenger seat, and got inside while quickly shutting the door.

"Luke!" Ace said, startled at his movements.

"LUKE! NO!" Mr. Swift screamed, as he rushed to the car.

"ACE. DRIVE!" Luke screamed.

Mr. Swift got to the car just too late, as Ace had quickly pressed on the gas pedal to go straight ahead.

"SHIT!" Mr. Swift punched the ground, while also taking out his phone, dialing 911.

"Yes. I wanna report a kidnapping......my son, in a 2008 black Altima, license plate 109ADC, kidnapped just a few seconds ago, on Oak Avenue....traveling east...thank you." Mr. Swift closed the phone, and looked in the distance at Ace's car, hate filling his fists, as he threw another punch on the ground.

"What the fuck were you thinking?!" Ace said, as he swerved around another corner.

"I wasn't thinking! All I knew was that if I let you go, that would be the end. He was taking me back, whether I liked it or not. This was the only way out."Luke explained.

"Well, that's just great, Luke. I get you for however long I can drive before your dad catches up with us, or the cops find us." Ace said sarcastically.

Luke looked in his side-view mirror.

"He's not chasing us, and there's no way of knowing he called the cops. Though since we're foxes, he does have the eyes to have seen the license plate before we made our break....I'm just saying (Ace had given him a look)."

"Well, it doesn't matter now. We're already in trouble; we might as well just stick to it." Ace said.

BEEP.

"Well, that's you, 'cuz it can't be me. My phone's on the side of the road." Luke declared.

"This is just the time, isn't it...?" Ace grumbled, as he pulled out his phone to reveal a text.

Ace's eyes widened as he read the message. Suddenly, Ace stopped the car.

"What's wrong?" Luke asked, wondering what else could happen tonight.

"It's...Alice." Ace said slowly, as he turned the car back around.

Luke took the phone from Ace and read the text.

"HELP.SCHOOL. UNDER BLEACHERS. NOW"

"She had gone missing...WAIT! We can't go back that way, that's the way to my house." Luke stated.

"I know a detour to school that I take when I'm late. We can get there using that...and what do you mean she went missing?" Ace asked worriedly, as he pressed on the gas pedal again to swerve into a different street Luke had never went down before.

"Well, I don't know the whole story, but Alice apparently didn't go home with her parents after the game, and they can't find her anywhere...I guess we'll see what's up when we get to the school." Luke said, sounding a little worried now, too.

"God, I hope she's okay..." Ace said, going a little faster.

Luke felt the same way. He knew Ace and he had to be running away, and the school was too close to his house, but it couldn't be helped. Whether it was something big or not, Alice was in trouble, and after all they've been through together, neither Ace nor Luke could ignore a plea from her.

Ace and Luke arrived at the school a few minutes later. They pulled in one of the parking places in the lot, and got out.

The whole school grounds seemed deserted. It was quiet, and there wasn't anyone in sight, from what Ace and Luke could tell. From the field they could see the bleachers, along with thousands of pieces of trash lying around from the game. The lights had gone out that once ignited the field, but it wasn't tough for Ace and Luke to see where they were going.

They both arrived under the bleachers in less than two minutes. It was just as dirty here as it was on the field, as much of the trash had fallen from where the audience was sitting and landed there. When they got there, they didn't notice anyone or anything, except for themselves.

"Alice..." Luke said, a little quietly.

Then suddenly, a punch came around to hit Luke. But Luke could see it coming with his peripherals, and quickly dodged it, causing him to jump back out from under the bleachers.

"Ace! It's a trap!" Luke said.

When Ace heard this he jumped out from the bleachers as Luke did.

"Who's there? Do you have Alice?" Ace asked, demanding an answer.

"Hahaha...stupid little husky and his fox toy..." A familiar voice said from under the bleachers.

And just like that, Trent's ugly face appeared from the dark bleachers, along with Alice, who was being held captive by one of three of Trent's followers. There was a lab, a rat, and a mole; the mole being the one holding Alice.

"Alice!" Luke shouted.

"Luke! Ace! Just leave me, they...you don't know what their capable of..." Alice said.

It took Luke a while to realize it, but Alice had been beaten. Bad.

"YOU BASTARD! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Luke screamed at Trent.

"Oh hohoho, we had plenty of time to have our fun with little miss chatterbox here, as soon as everyone left the school grounds. Anyone that's friends of a faggot gets treated like one, ya see?"

"Who does that shit to a girl, you twisted FUCK!" Luke said, and he ran for Trent.

"LUKE! DON'T!" Ace shouted, but it was too late.

As soon as Luke tried to punch Trent, he quickly evaded the attack by ducking, while also taking his left hand and pushing it with all of his force into Luke's stomach.

"GAaaa-Ahh" Luke puffed as the breath got knocked out of him, and he was pushed backward by the hit onto the ground.

"Luke!...mmmpphh!" Alice screamed, but her voice was mumbled by the mole that was now holding her body and her mouth tight.

Ace rushed over to Luke.

"Are you okay?" Ace asked.

"ughh....Yea...(Cough)...just wasn't thinking, that's all.."

"Pahahaha! Coming here was a big mistake, you too! You see, after our little Alice here screamed and cheered her ass off for ya'll, we figured we'd do something about it, ya know? So we captured her halfway through your little ceremony, waited until everyone left, had our way with her, and then took her phone to call up some of her fag-buddies to play! Ingenious, ain't it? Mr. Cross really underestimates me. If he was here, I would do the same to him! Haha, that's just more fur-fags to go around!" Trent ranted, as his voice trailed through the school grounds.

"You make me sick, Trent. I hope you saw everyone's reactions to me and Ace. No one said anything. No one disapproved. They all clapped and cheered, they were happy, and fine with the way things were...and did you see how in class, no one stood up for you? Maybe the problem isn't us...no one seems to have a problem with us. But everyone in the class had a problem with you, and if everyone has a problem with you, then maybe the problem is FUCKING YOU." Luke stated, as he slowly but surely got off the ground, recovering a little faster than he thought.

"Oh, so the fag finally gets it now, huh? It doesn't matter how many furs in this town get brainwashed by your love triangle, I know what's right, and you and Ace are definitely the problem. That's why this is all gonna end tonight. And if Alice doesn't cooperate like we've been asking so nicely for her to do, then she'll also go down with the lot of ya." Trent said, smiling but sounding serious.

"We'll just see about all that when the fights over." Ace said.

Luke was up completely now. He figured there was no turning back at this point; Ace and he would either make their graves tonight or save Alice. Luke was banking on the saving Alice part.

"Listen." Ace said. He was looking out at the group of furs about to attack them.

"Yeah?" Luke said.

"There are two of us, and three of them, excluding the one holding Alice. It's three against two, so we'll have to do some serious teamwork here."

"Don't we always?" Luke said, giving the smallest smile in a dark situation.

Suddenly, all three of the furs came at Luke and Ace, with Trent in front, and the lab and the rat following from both sides.

Trent was coming straight at Luke and Ace, who purposely got close together, so he would go for both of them. They waited until he got right up to them and reached out his heavy arms.

"NOW!" They both said, as they jumped quickly out of the way of Trent, causing him to stumble from all the power he put into his arms.

Luke was now in front of the moving rat, while Ace was in front of the lab. They both did not catch what went on, since Ace and Luke had moved so fast, and it gave them a chance to give them both a devastating punch to the chops each.

The rat went down just like that, while the lab got pushed to the side, but wasn't down.

"Scratch! You'll pay for that, fag." The lab said to Luke, as he rushed for him, a little slower since he got punched.

"Oh, no you don't." Ace said, as he stopped the lab with his left arm and grabbed him with his right, while simultaneously turning around in Trent's direction, who was turning around himself to face the action.

Before Trent could think, Ace then threw the lab towards Trent and caused their bodies to collide.

Trent went down with his buddy. The mole then noticed his friends, and how badly they were getting beat.

"You fucks are useless! Here, I'll help, boss!" The mole said, and he threw Alice to the ground.

"NO! YOU IDIOT! YOU'LL LET HER GET AWAY!" Trent yelled at the mole.

"Alice! Get out of here! We'll handle it!" Ace screamed.

Alice looked like she was thinking about it for a bit, but she realized this was the best way to go, nodded at Ace, and started running.

"I'll get help!" Alice screamed back, while continuing to run.

"FUCK! No, this isn't over yet! Go get the girl, Scratch!" Trent yelled.

The rat had recovered a bit from his shot to the face from Luke, and he nodded while starting to chase after Alice, who was already out of the school parking lot.

"He'll never catch her. She's a rabbit. Just admit it's over..."

"NO! If there's one thing that's getting done tonight, its dealing with you two! And that's what I plan to do!" Trent said, and he pushed the lab away and started running for Ace and Luke again.

The two knew they couldn't use the same move again. So they quickly ran for Trent together, on both sides.

As soon as they reached each other, though, Trent only went for one of them; Ace. And when he did he took his left hand, gave it a thrust, and punched Ace straight into his rib cage.

"Gaahh-AUGh!" Ace blurted with agony, as he was pushed aback from Trent's power and fell to the ground.

"ACE!" Luke screamed, but he let the blow get his attention, and he did not see the lab come from behind him, and grab him. As he did he turned Luke around and gave him a powerful punch to the face, causing Luke to fall on the ground as well.

"Told ya you'd pay, you homo piece of shit." The lab said victoriously.

Luke was able to get up pretty easily, and he saw that Ace was definitely not through yet, either. They had to win this fight, because if they didn't...

Luke joined up with Ace again, getting away from the action.

"We have to do something. I don't think you and I can take another one of those beatings." Luke said.

"No, you're right. Okay, it's still three on two; the rat's chasing Alice. If Alice is able to get help, then maybe all we need to do is keep 'em off until then." Ace suggested.

"No. We can't assume she got help or is getting help. We have to win this." Luke said firmly.

Ace seemed to be deliberating this in his head, and sighed.

"Okay, I get it. So how do we win?"Ace said.

Luke knew they had to be quick, because Trent was definitely not waiting for them. In fact, he was coming at them now.

"We'll just have to improvise!" Luke said, as he got ready for another go with their enemies, as did Ace.

Trent was coming for Luke this time. Luke knew it because Trent had sent the mole behind him, and he was aiming for Ace. The lab was also coming up behind the mole as his backup.

Trent got up to Luke, and threw one of his punches at him. Luke was used to the vision of this though, and he easily dodged it by ducking, as did Trent. But instead of trying to force Trent back, he quickly slipped in-between Trent's large thighs and, while doing so, punching Trent in the balls.

"ERGH, FUCK! GAAughh!" Trent said, falling to the ground.

As this was happening, Ace had waited for the mole to come at him, and he swiftly maneuvered his way around him, while also, once again, taking hold of the lab that had come behind him.

He had seen Luke's maneuver, and thought he might try it with the lab as he gave him a mighty leg kick to the balls.

"GAAUGH!!!" The lab yelped in pain, and with that he was paralyzed, as Ace was the only thing holding him up right now.

The mole didn't see this, and he turned around and ran straight for Ace's back, which was turned while holding the lab. Ace turned the lab around so his back faced him, as he had gotten an idea while the mole came running towards him.

Meanwhile, Luke took the opportunity of Trent on the ground to actually climb on his back, get on his shoulders, and pull his big, rhino horns that were placed on the top of his mouth.

This got Trent to get up, and he tried his hardest to get Luke off, but the pain of his testicles was beginning to go from his groin to his stomach, and he was feeling weak.

When the mole came to punch Ace, Ace quickly turned around, while still holding the lab. This in turn caused the lab to face the mole now and, not able to stop, get punched in the stomach by the mole.

Luke saw all this and thought this was his chance.

"Ace! Get out of the way!" Luke screamed.

Ace wasn't sure about Luke's intentions, but he was riding an enormous rhino, so he didn't argue with them, and he rushed out of the way of the mole and lab.

The mole was so surprised by the turn of events with Ace and the lab that he didn't notice Luke and Trent before it was too late. As soon as Luke had positioned Trent in the right direction, he let go of Trent's horns, pushed his legs against his back, and kicked Trent with his entire remaining force forward, causing him to fall on both the mole and the lab.

THUD.

The mole and the lab were sitting ducks, as Trent was too hurt to move; from the ball-crushing to the back-kick, along with the collision that had just occurred.

"That was awesome, Luke!!!" Ace met up with Luke, and they both hugged each other, thinking they both had achieved their sweet victory.

"Ace, look! Alice did get help after all! Or maybe that's the cops that my dad might've called..." Luke declared, as he noticed two flashing cars coming into the school driveway.

Ace noticed the cars almost instantly, and smiled.

"I guess it really is over, huh Trent..." Ace started.

"NO! I'M GONNA KILL YOU BOTH IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!! STARTING WITH YOU, MUTT!!" Trent screamed, as he had gotten up from the pile, and uncovered the switchblade he had gotten from his pocket.

There was no time to think. There was no time for Ace to run. There was no time to do anything. Trent had already gathered enough speed and was coming in too fast.

The only thing left to do, thought Luke.

And with that thought, Luke suddenly got in the way of Ace and Trent at the last minute, having Trent's switchblade stabbed into him.

Then, darkness took over Luke as he felt himself fall to the ground, someone screaming out his name.

......What's...happening...? Am I...dead? No, that can't be it. I wouldn't be thinking if I were dead. I did get a pretty bad hit from Trent, though. Maybe I am dead, and this is what it's like to be dead. Just thinking and thinking as darkness surrounds you...I hope Ace made it out okay. The cops came at just the right time...well, the right time for me to get stabbed, that is. I hope they throw Trent in jail for what he did to Alice, and to me, I guess. But you can't really do anything about me anymore. I'm dead, aren't I?....wait, what's that light, and that beeping noise...can it be...

BEEP... BEEP... BEEP... BEEP.

The beeps from the ECG (electrocardiograph) filled Luke's ears as he slowly opened his eyes. Everything was blurry for awhile, then it all seemed to get clearer, and not soon after he opened them Luke's eyes were showing him he was in a hospital room, with him in the bed.

All he could see was the ceiling, as he was lying down. Luke tried to move his body.

"ARgghh..." Luke groaned, as his whole body ached, while one part of it especially hurt; his stomach. As he tried to move for that second, he could have sworn he saw tons of flowers and candy at the end of his bed.

Then suddenly, Ace rushed to his side.

"LUKE! I'm so glad you're awake! The doctors said the stab wasn't fatal, but I stayed with you anyway just to make sure. Thank you so much for stopping Trent, but I would have easily taken that stab if you were in my condition and me in yours. I couldn't believe how reckless you were then, but now I guess you did it out of love for me, and so for that I'm..." Ace trailed off.

"Stop, Ace...too much...words...my head is pounding..." Luke said.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, Luke! I'm just so happy you're alive!" Ace exclaimed, unable to control himself.

"Yep. He stayed here all night with you. You should feel special, I didn't even get a room, and I look freaking cut." A familiar voice said across from Luke's bed.

The fur that had said that was soon revealed as Alice, as she walked beside Ace so Luke could see her without moving.

"Alice! You're okay..." Luke said, smiling, and still a little dazed, but getting better.

"Yep! The doctors fixed me up pretty well. But I wanted a bed, too! I'm the girl here; I should at least get some free pudding or something..." Alice grumbled, turning her eyes away and folding her arms.

"Hehe..." Luke chuckled. It hurt slightly to laugh, so he tried not to do it as much as he wanted to.

"Oh yeah, there's someone else here that wants to see you, Luke." Alice said brightly.

And with that, Mrs. Swift came rushing to Luke's side.

"My baby! Your awake! Thank god you didn't die! I don't know how I'd live if you died before me!" Mrs. Swift exclaimed, and even though she knew it may hurt Luke, she tried her hardest to gently wrap her paws and face around her sons.

"OWwwww, mom..."

Mrs. Swift then quickly but gently released herself from Luke.

"Sorry, honey! I'm just so happy your okay!" Mrs. Swift said.

"That's what I'm saying!" Ace exclaimed.

"There's also someone else that wants to talk to you, Luke." Alice said, seeming to have a slightly different tone than before.

"More hugs?" Luke said, thinking out loud.

"Ummm..." Alice murmered.

"It's me, son." A deep voice said, next to Luke. It was his father.

"Dad." Luke said, as he could see his father plainly now, sitting at the foot of his bed. Luke tried to move again.

"No, don't son. You'll just open up the wound." Mr. Swift said.

"I don't care." Luke said, and he forced himself to sit up.

It was a bit easier than he thought. He figured he had just been fatigued when he woke up and, just like the other times, he recovered quickly.

After he got situated and the pain went away, Luke could see the whole room, and he noticed everyone in it (Alice, Ace, Mr. Swift, and Mrs. Swift) while also noticing all the gifts at the end of his bed. One of them was a princess balloon.

"So I guess that one's yours?" Luke asked Alice.

"Nope. Mines are the pink tulips over there." Alice said with a smile.

"The balloon is mine, son...(chuckles) I thought it would be funny, considering..." His dad started.

"...considering I'm gay?" Luke said. There was no other real way to say it, and he might as well get it out while he can.

Still, it did not stop the room from going completely silent except for the beeping from the ECG for about 3 seconds.

"Listen, son...I've kinda thought it over, and I'm sorry to say this, but I still don't particularly jump for joy knowing my son is...like that. But, from what I've seen you do for this boy, the courage you've showed, the honor you've had in saving him when it may have cost you your life...well, that's the true spirit of a military officer. Saving the ones you love, no matter what the price may be."

"So what are you saying dad? Do you mean..."

"Yes, son. I accept yours and Ace's love, and it's alright with me if you two stay together."

Luke's heart started pounding big time, and the ECG could tell too.

"Dad, I, I can't tell you how happy I am...I've been wanting this for a long time, and now that I have it...thank you, dad." Luke said warmly, while also smiling warmly.

"No problem, son. I guess it's a matter of where you and Ace want to go now."

"What do you mean?" Ace and Luke both said at the same time. Everyone chuckled.

"What I mean is, you don't think we're not going to fund both your guys' college tuitions when high school is done? Hell, it is done. We've already talked to Ace's parents about all this, and they said would be fine with anything. You and Ace, coming back to California with us, or you both staying here in Fort Smith for you college days. Your choice." Mr. Swift declared, with a smile.

Ace and Luke both looked at each other for a second.

"Where do you want to go, Luke?" Ace asked.

"I don't know. I mean, I've made so many friends here..."

"Well, enemy's too. But there in jail, so you don't have to worry about them." Alice said, smiling again.

"You look abnormally happy to be saying that." Ace said.

"Hey, they got me good. I'm gonna make sure they get at least five years, ten tops..." Alice continued. Everyone laughed, except for Alice, who seemed serious. When she realized everyone was laughing at her, though, she joined in.

"So, back to what I was saying...I really enjoy Fort Smith, but..."Luke started, but was cut off by Ace.

"Oh, let's just pack our bags and go to Cali already, Luke! You know you wanna! Please please please please please pretty-please with a strawberry on top..." Ace begged, as he got close to Luke and held his paw.

"Okay! We'll go to college in California! But, Alice..." Luke started again, but was cut off, again.

"Oh, don't worry, Luke. We'll keep in touch, and stay the best of friends. I know it." Alice said with a smile.

"Haha, you bet!" Luke exclaimed, giving her a thumbs up.

"Well, I guess since that's all settled, we'll leave you two alone then. You still have some recovering to do before you need to start packing, Luke, so get to it." Mr. Swift said, as he pushed everyone out the hospital door.

"Get well soon, Luke! We'll check on you guys later!" Mrs. Swift yelled back.

"I'm going to find me some pudding; this hospital has to have some somewhere..." Alice said, as she walked out the door with the rest of them.

Ace and Luke both chuckled at Alice again.

"I'm so glad we can be together now, Luke." Ace said, still holding Luke's paw.

"I know. It seems like this whole ordeal of keeping it a secret, though...it's the one thing that's kept us together. Because we were able to push through it all, and still come out okay."

Ace looked sternly at Luke, then at his wound.

"Well, almost okay." Luke said.

Ace and Luke chuckled once again. It's nice to hear Ace's laughter, Luke thought. Luke smiled at Ace.

_It's nice to see Luke smile again,_Ace thought, and he smiled back.

"Hey Ace, guess what?" Luke said in a soft voice, as he got closer to Ace.

"What's that?" Ace whispered back, also getting closer.

"I don't have to pretend anymore." Luke whispered, as he slowly reached forward to kiss Ace on the muzzle.

The End

WOWSERS. I can't believe it! I'm finally finished with Senior Soul! WOOOOT!!!!....okay, enough of that, time for some updates!! Now, seeing as you can probably already tell that there HAS to be a continuation on this, I'll go right on ahead and tell you: THERE WILL BE A CONTINUATION ON THIS STORY SERIES! YAH! The new series will be called College Soul (I'm so freaking original, right). Oh, and this may be bad news for some, but I am discontinuing The Night Out story series. I'm sorry if anyone liked that story, but I just don't think I should have two stories going on, with all the characters in both stories in college, you know? I think it would stump my brain if I had to make them both different in that way. Oh and this may also be bad news for some, but for others it may be great! Okay, so I finished Senior Soul, but I figure, why start on the new series so soon? I think I want to do a couple of YIFF stories before I get back on the Soul train. What do you think? I think it's a pretty good idea;). Gives me time to think about how I want College Soul to go, and I can get some more practice on yiff writing! Win win, I believe:3 alright I thinks that's all I have to say for now, oh yea I HOPE EVERYONE'S SPRING BREAK IS ROCKIN! I KNOW MINE'S IS! XDDDDDDD ok once again hope you enjoyed the story cya!
