Mission 002: The Devil's in the Details

Shift Mission Briefing: It would appear a foolish wizard has attempted to strike a bargain with the demons of Tartarus. Suffice to say it did not end well for him. The wizard operated out of a tower which has now become an active gateway between our world and Tartarus. If the gateway is left open it's only a matter of time before a greater demon enters our world. Infiltrate the tower and close the portal before it's too late.

SHIFT Heroes Deployed On This Mission

Sinopa

Erakir

Kickaha

Tex

The four heroes had been traveling for several days and were finally nearing their destination. Despite being the middle of the afternoon it was unnaturally dark out. Gray clouds clouded out the sky preventing any sunlight from reaching barren fields.

"Place certainly looks ominous." Tex spoke up. The kobold had resized his backpack and goggles to fit his new form better since the last adventure. "Though I hope we recognize the tower when we reach it. Once you've seen one wizard's tower you've seen them all. It would be awkward to invade the wrong one."

"I think I'm pretty sure we'll find the right one." Sinopa spoke up. The fox-boar was a new recruit into the SHIFT heroes. Her ruby colored hair was tied back behind her. She was lacking in traditional equipment and clothing. Instead she wore a simple pair of leather bracers on her arms and a pair of greaves on her legs. This left the blue tribal tattoo on her shoulder plainly visible. The only other thing she carried was a pair of daggers mounted on her wrists to give her punch an extra bite.

"What makes you so sure?" Tex asked.

"Oh... I dunno." Sinopa shrugged. "Just a feeling." She pointed in the direction she was looking. There sitting atop a hill was a large tower made of stone. Above the tower was a massive blood red vortex spinning in the sky. There was a stream of some kind of energy flowing down from the vortex into the tower like a siphon. "But I'm pretty sure we're going to the one with the hellmouth above it."

"That... That would most likely be correct." Tex conceded as he adjusted his goggles.

"Wonderful!" Kickaha spoke up gleefully. The juvenile dragon was in relatively high spirits this day. Since his last adventure his green cloak had been modified to match his draconic body with slits cut in it for his wings. He looked and examined the tower studying the portal above it. "You know that's always the problem with bringing in demon managers. They always fire everyone and completely restructure the place."

BONK!

"OWWWW!" Kickaha held two of his talons up to his head.

"CHIRRRRR!" Erakir made her best attempt at a shout. She was still trapped in the form of a feral rabbit unable to even talk. She had managed to get a tiny little rabbit sized robe to wear... But she was still using her original staff. This made it almost impossible for her to hold it. Anytime she held it up to cast a spell she always lost her grip and it fell over.

And somehow it always managed to smack Kickaha in the head.

"Come on that one wasn't even that bad!" Kickaha whined.

"Chirrr!" Erakir sat up on her haunches and crossed her forearms. She turned her head away from Kickaha to indicate she would hear none of it.

"Are you two going to be like this the entire trip?" Sinopa sighed. "Unless you forgot we're here on a mission."

"Oh I promise!" Kickaha held up a talon. "On my honor we'll be on our best behavior."

BONK!

"WHYYYYYYY!?" Kickaha whined.

"CHIRRR!"

"They were like this the entire time on the last mission too." Tex shook his head. The kobold pulled his goggles down over his eyes as they got closer to the tower.

"Fine. Whatever." Sinopa growled. "Let's just find whatever demon is responsible for this, punch him until he stops, and go home."

"We should probably form a plan before we get there." Tex pleaded. "We don't know what forces he has at his disposal yet or what kind of powers he might have."

"Here's the plan!" Sinopa thumped her chest. "We kick down the door, clobber everyone we see, and then smack that demon so hard the entire portal collapses on top of him!"

"That's not a plan..." Tex growled.

"It is now!" Sinopa shouted as she took off sprinting for the tower. As soon as she approached the entrance she leaped into the air and performed a diving kick against the door. The wooden door splintered apart as she disappeared beyond the threshold.

"Just... Why?" Tex dropped his face into his claws. "Just once I'd like to be assigned to a team that actually tries to follow a plan." The sounds of combat rang out from the tower. After a few moments a large brown furry monster was flung out the front door. It let out whimper of pain before something grabbed it by the tail and dragged the monster back into the tower.

"Wow..." Kickaha sat down and stared. "She's really going at it. Heh, newbies always have the most passion."

"Chirrr chirr!" Erakir nodded sagely.

"So... Are we going to help her?" Tex asked.

"I dunno..." Kickaha replied. "It really feels like she has the entire situation under control."

The three remaining heroes sat in silence for a moment as the sound of violence continued to echo from inside the tower. After a few the sound finally died down and it became completely silent.

"Okay maybe now we should go help..." Kickaha seemed worried at the silence.

"Ya think!?" Tex shouted. The kobold led the charge as the bunny and dragon ran behind him. All three charged into the open door and into the first floor of the tower. There they came upon quite a sight.

The stone chamber was currently filled with broken furniture. The brown furred monster they had seen earlier lay on its back upon a shattered dining table. Other monstrous creatures with claws and fangs lay scattered throughout the woods. They were all knocked out.

"Well if nothing else she's efficient." Tex adjusted his goggles.

"Oh yes, she really boar into them!" Kickaha smiled as he marveled the fox-boar's work."

BONK!"

"OWWWW!" Kickaha whined. He held out his dragon wings to shield himself. "Stop that Erakir!"

"CHIRRRRRR!" Erakir crossed her forepaws and glared at Kickaha.

"If you people are done... Could we please get to completing the mission?" Sinopa asked. She proceeded for the stairs looking for more demon monsters to beat up.

"My my... she's so testy..." Kickaha paused. "Or... Tusky!" The dragon smiled.

BONK!

"CHIRRR!" Erakir protested.

"At least she's focused on the mission." Tex sighed. "Just... Wish she was less all charge in without a plan. We need to be smart..." Tex was interrupted by the sound of further violence upstairs. "I get the feeling we should be checking on that." The remaining three headed up the stairs. However the sight they saw was not what they expected to greet them this time.

There was a demon there. He had red skin, a barbed tail and small horns. He was barely human sized and dressed in a fine suit. Sinopa was currently on the floor in front of him. She looked different though. Horns had grown from her head... Spines ran down her back and tail. Her tusk were much larger and she had much longer and sharper claws.

"Sinopa what happened!?" Tex asked.

"The same that happens to everyone that enters our domain." The demon answered smugly. "You should have read the plaque on the staircase.

"What plaque?" Tex spun around. It was just before this room's entrance. It read:

All persons who enter this room of their own free will hereby consent to enter a contract of servitude with the forces of Tartarus. They agree to be bound in the form of demons that are incapable of acting against the interest of Tartarus. We thank you for your service.

"Wait... what!?" Tex shouted. As he read the plaque both him and Kickaha began to change. Tex grew long horns at the top of his head as spines round down his tail. He grew longer claws and longer teeth as well as swelled slightly in size. His eyes began to glow red a pair of bat-like wings sprouted from his back.

As for Kickaha. He didn't change much. It turns out dragons are already pretty demonic looking. His scales did get darker and he grew a few more spines. That was about it.

"Welcome to the demon army of Tartarus." The demon smiled as the changes finished. "And with your contracts complete..." He held out his hand and fire erupted from it. The fire solidified into three paper scrolls. One had Sinopa's name, one Tex's and one Kickaha's. "You now work for me... Forever." He smiled as the paper contracts flew into his hand.

"To heck I do!" Sinopa jumped up from the ground and charged the demon. She leaped into the air and did a flying punch. She then abruptly stopped an inch away from her target.

"You cannot disobey an order from a higher ranking demon or act against the interests of Tartarus." The demon smiled. "We find this makes it so much easier to deal with would be heroes... Or really anyone who wanders in. I suppose you must have done quite a number on the other recent recruits we had."

"Wait the people downstairs weren't real demons?" Tex asked.

"They're as real as any of you." The demon shrugged. "Well... Find some way to make yourself useful... I'm going to drop your contracts off with processing... Then I have a lord to summon into this realm" With that the demon turned and proceeded to a second staircase leading further up the tower.

"Get back here you coward!" Sinopa shouted.

"You will not address me again until you have learned some manners." The demon replied coldly. As he did Sinopa tried to shout but this time no noise came out.

"...!" Sinopa stamped her foot angrily, her new claws tearing at the stone ground.

"This... Could be problematic..." Tex scratched at his horns.

"Indeed!" Kickaha replied. "And I fear our new boss will be quite demonding!"

BONK!

"CHIRRRRRR!" After objecting to Kickaha's joke Erakir looked over her party. She was the only one unchanged. She fell onto her back and began to laugh at herself as she overlooked the demons surrounding her.

"You know you probably only escaped because you're not legally a person." Sinopa muttered. "Oh hey... I can talk to you guys apparently."

"Chirrrrr!" Erakir shot Sinopa a look.

"So... Now what?" Kickaha asked. "Though I am loathe to admit it... We might not be able to do much like this..."

"Judging by what happened when Sinopa attacked..." Tex looked over everyone. "We won't be able to fight them while we're all still transformed into demons. We'll need to find some way to reverse the change or destroy the contracts... Otherwise even if we found a way to close the portal we wouldn't be able to do it."

"Chirrrr!" Erakir beamed.

"Do you have an idea?" Tex asked.

"CHIRRRRR!"

"I... I have no idea what you're saying..." Tex shook his head.

"Perhaps she has a plan to get or destroy the contacts!" Kickaha suggested. "After all... She's the only one who can act against them, meaning if she found our contracts he could easily destroy them."

"And then we all go back to normal!" Tex responded.

"And I can pay that demon back for this embarrassment!" Sinopa growled.

"Chirrrr!" Erakir puffed her chest out smugly.

"Oh my gosh!" Tex's eyes grew wide. "Do you realize what this means? WE HAVE A PLAN! We're... We're going to follow an actual plan! And it's one that can work! This... This is the happiest day of my life..." The demonfied kobold had tears in his eyes.

"Yes yes!" Kickaha grinned. "Everything should proceed swimmingly! Well there Erakir... Shall we hop to it?"

BONK!

The heroes explored further into the tower. Upon heading up to a higher level they found a section that looked like a library. Canisters full of scrolls were stocked throughout several walls beyond a small archway. Tex led the way only to stop flat when he reached the archway. There was the sensation of running into a wall made of electricity. He flailed and fell over backwards before standing up and reaching out a clawed hand to touch the empty space below the archway.

"I can't go in..." Tex muttered.

"Probably because you're trying to destroy the contract." Kickaha said. "Would be a pretty basic precaution to take... Not that I'm speaking from experience."

"Guess this is all on Erakir then..." Sinopa muttered. "Good luck."

"CHIRRRR!" Erakir puffed out her chest before hopping beneath the archway. The restraints on the others did nothing for her. She began to hop through the archive of scrolls looking for the ones belonging to her companions. Out of curiosity she stopped and pulled out scroll to read it. Then she smiled evilly as she did.

Meanwhile as Erakir left. "YOU THREE!" A demon that seemed to be made of tentacles approached the new demons. "You must be the new janitors! Thank goodness! We have a giant mess of ectoplasm on the fifth floor and it's just... Everywhere! You three go clean that up!" Tex, Kickaha and Sinopa tried to protest... But much to their horror instead found themselves nodding and heading to the fifth floor.

Meanwhile Erakir hopped around the library at this point. She gathered multiple scrolls including a couple of blank ones. Once she had the blank scrolls she hopped over to a desk, jumped up and dipped her paws into the ink there. She then began to write (rather messily) onto one of the blank contracts. Then she hopped to the back of the library to what looked like a large desk. An elderly looking green demon with glasses was sitting at it.

"CHIRRRR!" Erakir gave a shout before tossing the contract she had written up onto the desk.

"What's this?" The elderly demon asked. "Another soul contract? Oh my... I can't read this one..."

"Chirrrrr!"

"Are you sure it's okay? I really should read it before stamping it with approval."

"CHIRRRRRR!"

"What a helpful bunny. Thank you for reading it to me. A basic soul for power contract good to know." The demon grabbed a large stamp and slammed it atop the contract.

Immediately Erakir began to change. She grew in size and changed to a bipedal stance. Her fur disappeared giving way to purple colored skin. A long thin tail with a barb formed from her back as tiny little wings grew in. Two very small horns grew from her head as she transformed into a demon imp.

"AHAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAA!" Erakir laughed in a high pitched voice. "Finally! Vengeance is mine!" With that she grabbed the remaining scrolls she had before flying back to meet the party. The elderly demon merely shrugged at this reaction. Maniacal demons were normal around here. It was to be expected.

Erakir was still laughing when she returned to her where she had left her allies. She found they were waiting for her but they all looked quite haggard.

"Eh what happened to you three?" Erakir asked.

"I don't want to talk about it." Sinopa gave Erakir a glare. "Ever."

"Um okay then." Erakir rolled her eyes. "Oh I've got a present for all of you!" She laughed.

"Erakir!?" Tex seemed surprised. "You're a demon too... But that means you won't be able to oppose them!"

"Not quite!" Erakir smiled. "After reading your contracts... I saw only a demon could actually approve changes to them. So... I simply wrote up a contract to sell myself into servitude so I could become a demon too... I just left out the whole servitude part."

"So you're a demon in body but not bound by their rules!" Kickaha responded. "Clever."

"Glad you think so!" Erakir smiled. "And I got a near blind demon to approve it so no one knows!"

"Why didn't you just get them to approve changes on our contracts?" Sinopa asked.

"Simple." Erakir shrugged. "After reading your contracts I saw there was no way to simply break them... But I can... Cheat a bit! Put in someone else's completed contract in place of yours."

"Won't that turn someone else into a demon?" Tex asked. "I'm not sure I'm okay with that."

"It doesn't matter!" Sinopa growled. "If we close the gateway then all the demons summoned here will go away!"

"I don't always believe the ends justifies the means!" Kickaha spoke up. "But I do support plans that leave loose ends that could unravel later! I'm good with this."

"Good good!" Erakir smiled. "We'll do your contract first then!" The imp unraveled a contract in front of Kickaha. "Do you accept me changing your fate?"

"Against all good reason and logic! Yes I do!" Kickaha smiled.

"Then the pact is sealed!" As Erakir spoke Kickaha began to change. His demonic features faded while he shrank in size. He was forced back into a bipedal stance as his wings shrank away. Round ears formed on the side of his head as a long bushy tailed grew out from behind him. His talons became paws and his muzzle became rounder. He shrunk to exactly two feet tall making him just a couple inches shorter than Erakir. "I forgot to mention... Since these contracts that are completed aren't yours... You're going to match the species of the person it was meant for."

"A squirrel?" Kickaha asked. "Really, all this just to accuse me of being a little nutty?" Kickaha suddenly looked stunned. His body began to shrink even more as he fell down onto all fours. His cloak fell to the ground and in a few moments there was just a normal feral squirrel where he was standing.

"Oh my how did that happen?" Erakir mused. "Somehow there was a clause left in your contract... Seems anytime you make a pun or lame joke you'll turn into a normal squirrel. Don't worry, it should only last an hour before you change back."

"Squeak!" Kickaha responded. Still, the look on his face seemed to be one of a squirrel without regrets.

"Erakir..." Sinopa's tone was fierce. "Changing our species is bad enough. Must you also include such petty tricks?"

"I mean I'm always tempted to!" Erakir said. "But I figured we don't have a lot of time and you haven't personally irked me yet... So no tricks... Aside from the obvious. So do you accept me changing your fate?"

"As if I had a choice." Sinopa shut her eyes. "Do what you must." With her pact sealed her demonic features began fade. As her horns and spines retreated her tusks did the same. Her muzzle became thinner and her ears rounded. Her tail became long and flexible, ending with a big hairy tuft. She was a lioness, though one still with the blue tattoo on her shoulders boar colored fur. "Ugh... This is... Acceptable." Sinopa growled. "At least it's still good for hitting things."

"Thought you might feel that way..." Erakir shrugged. "Honestly I gave you the lion contract largely because your punch problems in the face attitude reminded me of someone."

"Oh? Are they some kind of warrior?" Sinopa asked.

"Sure... Let's go with that." Erakir avoided her gaze.

The only one left was Tex.

"Do you..." Erakir started.

"Just get it over with." Tex spoke.

"Come on, at least enjoy the lead up a little." Erakir giggled and snapped her fingers. The final contract changed as did Tex. Like the other his demonic features faded. Then feathers began to grow in over his entire body as his scales faded. They were gray and black on the top and white underneath.

Tex let out a squawk in surprise as his arms began to drastically change shape. The majority of his feathers formed along them as they transformed into a large pair of wings. His tail shrunk away almost vanishing before turning into a set of tail feathers. His snout gave way to a beak as his eyes gained sharp eyes. He had transformed into a bipedal red tailed hawk.

"This... This is different..." Tex flexed his wings. "Going to be difficult to hold things..." He looked down at his talons that passed for feet. "Though... I might be able to make it work... Actually yes... This should let me bomb enemies from above with my potions."

"Yes." Erakir said in a flat voice. "That was my plan all along."

"Really?" Tex seemed uncertain. "Well in that case I guess thank you for thinking ahead."

"Will you two stop wasting time?" Sinopa growled. "We're not bound by that demon contract anymore right? So let's get to the top of this tower and kick that demon's butt."

"Okay sure..." Tex muttered. "But we should be careful, do you plan to just violently punch your way to the roof looking for him?"

"EXACTLY!" Sinopa smiled and much violence was had that day. The lioness sprinted up the stairs and worked her way up through the tower. Any demons she encountered got either a fist or a foot to the face. Even Jim by the water cooler.

Especially Jim by the water cooler.

In the end though the heroes did not encounter the demon in the suit until they reached the roof of the entire tower. He stood looking up at the vortex in the sky and seemed to barely notice them as they appeared.

"Hmmm?" He didn't even turn to face them. "Is there a second set of heroes in the tower? I hadn't heard the security alarm go off again."

"It's still us you pompous fiend!" Sinopa roared. "Now... Do you want it in the face or everywhere but the face?"

"Squeak squeak!" Kickaha gave a warning shout. The small squirrel jumped up and down seemingly aware of some threat.

"He seems worried..." Tex muttered.

"Probably just upset that Sinopa didn't have a lamer one liner." Erakir responded.

"SQUEEEEEEEEAK!"Kickaha stood on his hind legs and kicked Erakir's shin.

"I'm afraid your tiny friend is quite right." The demon removed a stop watch from coat pocket and examined it. "I'm afraid you arrived just too late to do anything. The summoning is complete."

Pieces of stone began to float upward away from the tower. As they did the vortex in the sky glowed bright. Then... Something emerged from it. It was a massive beast, almost as big as the entire tower. Fists the size of houses slammed into the ground outside the tower, claws then digging into the ground. The rest of the of the massive beast followed. He had large deer-like antlers and eight glowing red eyes. His skin was ashen gray and completely bare of clothing. As his entire body emerged from the portal large black wings spread out from his back, two whip-like tails lashed at the air, and two pitch black hooves slammed into the ground.

The massive demon slowly stood up. As he reached his full height he stood taller than the tower. Everyone standing atop the tower was roughly chest level with him.

"Meet Beelzebob, one of the Great Lords of Tartarus!" The demon in the suit smiled.

"Don't you mean Beelzebub?" Erakir asked.

"No, Beelzebob." The demon in the suit responded. "I think they're cousins? Maybe second cousins. The point is... Giant demon? Tiny mortals. Time to go smash."

"But if he smashes us he'll destroy the entire tower!" Tex protested. "Taking you and all the demons with it!"

"Ha you think I didn't think of that!?" The demon in the suit smiled and held up a hand. "Because I totally was prepared for that!" He then paused. "Because... I... Am... Um... Well... Shoot. Okay Beelzebob maybe take five for a minute I need a new plan."

"GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAWRL!" Beelzebob roared at the top of his lungs.

"He's quite articulate." Erakir smiled mischievously.

"Quiet you!" The demon in the suit seemed to sweat. "The Lords of Tartarus communicate on a level that is well beyond that of normal speech."

"So he's stupid. Got it." Erakir nodded. "I suppose that explains why they always have to be summoned by supposed lesser demons."

"Erakir... Maybe don't make him angry." Tex hissed. "I don't know if we have a plan right now."

"Oh I'm not trying to make him angry!" Erakir smiled. The imp floated into the air. At the moment her current demonic appearance was very suiting. "I'm just showing a little bit of sympathy. After all... It must be maddening to work for a brute who can't handle basic tasks... And be the lesser demon."

"Squeak squeak!" Kickaha contributed cheerfully. He began to jump up and down excitedly. "Squeak squeeeeak!"

"Oh I know Kickaha I know!" Erakir responded. "I would die of embarrassment too."

"Wait does she understand his squeaks?" Sinopa asked.

"I... Do not think so..." Tex muttered. "But I do know one thing... If those two are getting along... We're all going to die."

"You will cease your tongue! You are an imp and of our dominion!" The demon in the suit glowered. "I will not stand here and allow you to insult me! I demand you fall silent at once!"

"Ahhh see, I would but..." Erakir shrugged. "Well my demon contract left me more something like an independent contractor. See, I don't really work for you, so you can't order me around. Not knowing basic things like that is why you're so low on the totem pole. Beelzebob gets it. Right big guy?"

"GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAWR!" Beelzebob roared.

"See?" Erakir smiled.

"Erakir..." Sinopa dropped her voice. "As eager as I am for battle... That one might be a bit too big to simply punch away."

"Then it's a good thing we're not fighting him!" Erakir said "After all, big guy's in charge! The one in the cheap suit is just middle management."

"THIS SUIT COST 10,000 GOLD!" The demon in the suit shouted.

"My apologies..." Erakir's smile widened. "The demon who got conned into paying 10,000 gold for a cheap suit is just middle management."

"Squeak squeeeeak!" Kickaha added.

"Oh... That is it!" The demon in the suit erupted in flames. His suit began to burn off as fire poured out from the top of his head and shoulders. "Okay you know what... I don't care about my minions right now! Thanks to the smart mouthed imp! Everyone dies! Beelzebob! Original plan! Smash the tower!"

"WAY TO GO ERAKIR!" Tex growled.

"GROOOOOOOOOOOOAWR!" Beelzebob gave another roar then swung back his fist. He brought a single fist crashing down towards the tower.

"Whelp time to go!" Erakir responded as she flew away from the tower.

"Wait but not all of us can fly!" Sinopa objected.

"That sounds like a personal problem!" Erakir chided.

"Uggggh!" Tex began flapping his wings and took off into the air. He grabbed Sinopa by the shoulders with his talons while he flew off the tower.

Kickaha was left to fend for himself. He leaped from the tower wishing he had at least turned into a flying squirrel. He wondered if he could still cast spells like this unable to speak... But before he got the chance suddenly felt himself come to a stop in the air. Erakir had grabbed him and was now carrying him.

"Squeak!?" Kickaha asked genuinely surprised.

"Of course I saved you." Erakir responded in a perfectly flat voice. "I'm nice."

With the heroes cleared of the tower there was only one being on it as Beelzebob's fist collided with the tower. "Oh dear... I may have suffered a lapse in judgment." He managed to say before the demon was crushed as was the entire tower. There was no slow collapse or crumbling of the structure. Instead the tower was just gone, completely flattened in one swift movement.

"GROOOOOOOOOOOOAWR!" Beelzebob shouted as he turned his attention to the fleeing heroes. Then suddenly, the portal in the sky changed colors from red to blue. "GROOOOAWR!?" Beelzebob began to struggle as he found himself being pulled towards the portal. He slammed his fist into the ground, tearing up large chunks of it in the process. Yet, no matter how he struggled he was unable to resist the pull. Beelzebob was sent hurling into the sky and through the portal. A moment later there was a giant flash of light... And the vortex was gone.

"Genius!" Tex shouted. "Erakir! You figured out the tower was what was supporting the portal! With the tower gone the gateway closed and the demon was forced back through!"

"Yes..." Erakir looked sheepish as she refused to meet Tex's gaze. "That is a thing I did on purpose."

"Squeak squeak!" Kickaha objected.

"Oh dear I think I feel my hands slipping..." The imp looked down at the squirrel. "I guess you better stop talking or I might drop you."

"Squeeeeak."

"This... wasn't how I expected my first outing to go..." Sinopa sighed. "I really wanted to punch that suit wearing demon in the face... Least I got to see him get crushed."

"Let's just put it all behind us... And be glad we'll never have to see any of them again or deal with anymore demon business."

"About that..." Erakir smiled. "I may have stolen one more blank contract. Hey, if I'm a demon I might as well have one! So... Who wants to sell me their soul?"

"Squeak?" Kickaha smiled.

"Ugh I don't want yours!" Erakir groaned.

"Erakir please don't start stealing the souls of your fellow adventurers..." Tex pleaded.

"I was kidding!" Erakir shouted. "I mean I think I can get a lot better than a soul out of you three."

"Can we please just return back to headquarters." Sinopa growled... Yet as they continued to fly back home the usual bickering continued.

Treasure Distribution

On occasion heroes may return with treasure. Anytime this occurs this section will explain who got an item and what it does.

Erakir has obtained The Contract.

Contract: A powerful magical item. It can only be used by demons, faeries, genies and similar magical creatures. The contract can be used by the demon to grant a special power or boon to another player in exchange for a service or fee they agree to. While both parties agree on the wording of the contract the magical creature who used the contract is the one who determines HOW the contract is interpreted.
