#20 of Rio's Saga

Wherein the cubs have a run in with an old enemy with unexpected results, and Kaylie learns something new.

"You know, I didn't think that you were actually going to wet yourself," Mike chuckled softly as he led his tiger down the hall to the drinking fountain, "I'm glad you did, cause that was fun, but I seriously thought that we'd just be heading out to recess."

"It's completely your fault. I peed before I left the house-" Rio started to reply, only to be interrupted by another chuckle from the ursine, "What's so funny?"

"You don't have to tell me you peed this morning, I watched you do it. All over yourself. It was hot." Mike answered, pausing as they reached the fountain to grin at his boyfriend before dropping to get a drink.

"Yeah well," the tiger replied, blushing slightly, "that's your fault too. Not saying that I'm complaining or anything, cause I've had all sorts of fun over the past few days, but none of this would have happened if you hadn't peed on my head on Friday."

"Yeah..." Mike said wistfully, standing to let his boyfriend get a drink, "That was fun. We're gonna have to do that again. You're welcome, by the way, but I can't take full credit. It's technically your fault for losing the race."

Rio sputtered, coughing slightly as he stood up, "Now hold on, I didn't lose anything, you cheated. Besides, if it hadn't been for Zac distracting me-"

"So what you're saying..." Mike cut of the little tiger and started leading him back to the classroom, "Is that it's Zac's fault you let me pee on your head."

"Well... yeah, but it's not- I guess kind of-" Before Rio could figure out how to phrase his retort, the doors at the end of the hall burst open and the hallways flooded with the noise and energy of dozens of cubs fresh from recess. Shaking his head, the little tiger resolutely ignored the smug grin Mike was sending him and just pushed against the throng. Reaching the door to their classroom, they joined the flow of students heading in and took their seats.

"Wow that's a weird smell," laughed a dingo, shaking his head as he sat and waved a paw in front of his muzzle, "What were you up to during recess, Mr. Odhran?"

"Dissolving te bones of past students that asked too many questions, Mr. Fuller," the stoat replied easily, getting a laugh from the class, "Simple tidying up, nothing more. There was an unfortunate occurrence over te weekend that used up all of our gallant cleaning crew's normal supplies, so we'll need to put up with some unusual odors for te next week or so. That having been said, we shall press on. So, chapters seven and eight in te book covered te rising tension between te colonies and te king back in England..."

The next several hours passed uneventfully as Mr. Odhran held court in his classroom, the topic of discussion switching from history, to math, and settling into english, none of which held more than half of Rio's attention. An average student at best, the little tiger was having more trouble than usual focusing on this day in particular thanks to a number of things, not the least which was the plug holding a load of bear spunk up his tail. Thankfully, out of sympathy for their stressful morning, their teacher called on neither him nor his boyfriend and soon enough, the stoat called a halt.

"Alright, pupils," he called from the back of the room, climbing to his footpaws and walking up the center aisle, "time for lunch. Everycub on yer footpaws, to te front of te room."

The cubs rushed the front of the class and milled around a bit, getting in order. As soon as they were lined up, the stoat spoke again. "Alright, let's give te cubs in te back of te line somethin' different to look at, shall we? On yer heels cubs, last is now first, let's go!"

Groans of annoyance from the front of the line mingled with laughs from the end of it as they turned and swung around, following their teacher out of the room and down the hall to the lunch room. With the order reversal, Mike ended up behind his boyfriend instead of in front of him, and he couldn't help but laugh at the slight waddle that the tiger was walking with as he got used to not only the padding, but also the plug in his rear.

"Somethin' you'd like to share with te rest of te class, Mr. Hayes?" The stoat called from the front of the line.

"Not at all, Mr. Odhran," the bear replied, still giggling.

"Are ye sure, lad? Whatever it is, it sounds amusin'."

"He's just enjoying the change of scenery," Rio put in, blushing slightly even as he smiled, knowing that the little ursine was checking out his rump.

"What's so good about it?" Called the buck now at the very back, "doesn't it make you like, near the back?"

"Yes... but the longer you have to wait for something, the better it is, right Mr. Odhran?" Mike chuckled, subtly swatting Rio's rump and getting a muffled yip from the little tiger.

"Well said, but try to keep your excitement down else ye'll really be enjoyin' your lunch. No talkin' in te hallways."

"But you asked me a question!" Mike laughed indignantly.

"Indeed I did lad, which is why ye got your warnin. Ye won't get another."

Silence reigned for the rest of the walk to the lunchroom, but they were enveloped in a wall of noise as their teacher opened the door and ushered them through. With their class near the end of their hall, the room was already mostly filled with munching cubs talking over each other as they ate. Taking advantage of the din as they filed around to join the food line, Mike leaned his muzzle over Rio's shoulder.

"That waddle is adorable!" He said said softly, "Do you know how hard it was not to reach out and play with your diaper?"

"It's not the diaper making me waddle and you know it," the tiger grinned, blushing again as he elbowed the ursine in the belly, "I've more or less gotten used to the diaper, but this plug is gonna drive me nuts, so stop making me think about it. Where does Ms. Sloan's class sit?"

"Why do we care about where Ms. Sloan's class sits?" MIke asked rubbing his ribs with a chuckle, laughing harder at the look his tiger gave him, "Relax I'm kidding. It goes by room order, right? So if our table is there, then Sloan's will be over..."

The ursine didn't finish his sentence, instead nudging Rio and nodding to a table on their right side, a few up from where they were going to sit. Looking over, the little tiger spotted Kody. At least, he thought it was Kody. Impossible to tell under the black hoodie, but the antisocial way the mystery fur was huddling over his tray near the end of the table was a decent indication.

Moving through the line, the two cubs looked around, catching the eyes of the rest of their group and getting nods before grabbing their food and taking seats. Rio slugged Mike in the arm as the bear laughed at how gingerly the tiger sat, before both cubs started inhaling their lunch, wanting to get done before the bunny.

In perfect sync, as soon as Kody finished his food and stood, six other cubs rose to their footpaws and moved to dump their trays, coming together to meet him at the door.

"We're missing somefur," the bunny said softly, looking at the cubs around him.

"Sky's in second grade," Zac explained as he pushed the door open and held it for the group, "the bottom grades eat lunch a bit earlier then we do."

"Alright," Toby said, making sure no other cubs were in earshot before nudging Mike, "how'd your meetin' wit da policefurs go?"

"It went well enough," the bear replied, "they were really nice, and I think we managed to dance around things well enough that they shouldn't bother Kody for now."

"Yeah, but who knows?" Rio shrugged, "they said they were gonna be questioning the guys that jumped you in the locker room about trashing the bathrooms, so who knows how that's going to go?"

"They won't admit to wanting to mess with Kody," Shayne shrugged that one off as they followed Kody across the soccer field, "so let's just relax and enjoy the sunshine."

"Yeah Kody, enjoy the sunshine," Kaylie smiled, "It's such a nice day out here, why don't you take your hoodie off?"

"I didn't take it off at recess, Kaylie," the bunny replied, taking his girlfriend's paw, "why would I take it off now?"

"Because you're such a cute bunny!" The terrier cried melodramatically, getting a reluctant smile from the lagomorph. "I want to be able to see your eyes, Kody."

"My eyes are still going to be in my head when I get back to Rio's house, you can wait," Kody replied.

"But what if I don't go to Rio's after school?" Kaylie countered, "Then I'll have to wait even longer."

Shaking his head at his girlfriend's persistence, he changed the subject in the hopes that she'd give up. "Hey, weren't you going to ask Mike and Rio what they were up to during recess?"

"Yes I was, but don't think you're off the hook. I'll get that hoodie off you yet. Now," Kaylie said, rounding on the ursine, "I know that you weren't doing homework, otherwise you wouldn't have answered the phone, so what exactly were you taking care of?"

Rio blushed and Mike grinned, "Hold on, let's reach the corner. You're gonna love this."

"I know that look," Shayne grinned as he saw Rio blush, "This is gonna be good."

Several moments later, having reached the back corner of the schoolyard, the cubs all sat down and Kaylie zeroed in on Mike.

"Alright you two, what's so important that you had to skip recess and drag us all the way out here?"

"Well, I painted Rio's claws again," Mike offered, grabbing his boyfriend's paw and pushing his claws out to show off the color.

"I like that color." Kody said softly, "You should wear purple more often..."

"Gotta say I agree," Toby shook his head, "it does look pretty good on ya but dat couldn't have taken ya twenty minutes. Ya had my talons done in less time den dat yesterday mornin'."

"Yeah, that was only the second half of our recess." Mike nodded, "The first half was taken up changing Rio."

"Changing Rio into what?" Kaylie asked, blankly.

"No, Kaylie, changing me," Rio said, smiling shyly.

"Yeah, I heard-"The terrier's reply was cut off as Mike reached over, tugging the front of Rio's shirt up to reveal his diaper peeking above his jeans. "No way..."

"You peed yourself?" Kody asked, "in class?"

Rio nodded, smile growing wider even as he blushed, "Yeah, so we conned Odhran out of his room and Mike changed me behind his desk."

"I can't believe you'd do that at school!" Zac laughed.

"What else could he do at that point?" Shayne asked, grinning from ear to ear, eyes sparkling, "He couldn't just leave him wet, Rio'd get a diaper rash!"

"He's got a point, Kaylie," Toby chuckled, not surprised at all that Mike had somehow convinced Rio to pamper up. "I wouldn' want ta sit in a wet diaper all day eider."

"But couldn't he have just peed in the toilet?" Kody asked, a small smile crossing his muzzle, his eyes locked onto the diaper.

"I could have, but why walk all the way to the bathroom if I can just go in my diaper?" Rio asked, tugging his shirt back into place.

"Which is what Zac was asking, and you know it!" Kaylie shook her head, laughing despite herself, "I can't dispute how adorable you would be in just that thing and your necklace, but you're insane for wearing it at school."

"It's only a problem if furs know I'm wearing it," Rio grinned in reply, "Besides... I kinda like it."

The terrier looked at her feline friend incredulously, but before she could ask another question, Kody suddenly stiffened. Reaching for his pocket, he pulled out his phone and looked at it as if it were about to bite him.

"What's the matt- wait, who's calling you?" Zac asked in confusion, "Who even has your number?"

"Chris..." Kody replied, his knuckles tightening around his phone.

"Your brudder?" Toby asked, glancing down at the phone, "don't let him bodder ya man, just ignore him. Dere's noting he can do to ya from da udder end of a phone."

"He can't do anything over the phone, but he's calling me, Toby," the rabbit said darkly, "he only calls me for one reason."

Rio's diaper completely forgotten in the face of her boyfriend's obvious distress, Kaylie reached out and took his paw again. "We won't let it happen, Kody, I promise."

"Wait, this is the first time he's called you," Rio said, realizing that he hadn't heard the little rabbit's phone all weekend, "and you haven't been home since Friday morning. The guys that messed with us knew you hadn't been home, you'd think the fur that lived with you would have noticed that you were missing sooner than this."

"No, he scored Thursday night, so he probably didn't even notice I wasn't there until now," the bunny replied, shaking his head and flinching as his phone stopped ringing and immediately started again.

"Doesn't he know you're at school though?" Mike asked, "You can't answer your phone at school."

"That's probably the point." Kody glowered, "He's trying to get me in trouble so I'll have detention. That way, I'll miss the bus and one of his 'friends' can show up to give me a ride. Of course, that ride always has detours. I end up getting fucked senseless and he gets more drugs. He's done it before."

"Don't worry Kody," Rio said firmly, pulling his own phone out, "the only fur giving you a ride today is my dad. He said if we needed a ride today he'd swing by and pick us up."

Midway through drafting his message to his dad, Rio was interrupted by Mike tapping his shoulder.

"Head's up Rio," the ursine said softly, "could be trouble."

Looking up, the tiger blinked in confusion as one of the huskies that had jumped Kody jogged to a halt well outside of reach.

Feeling Kody press closer to him, Rio stayed seated and took his paw, Kaylie doing the same on the rabbit's other side as everycub else jumped to their footpaws and formed a wall between them.

"Hey, guys, hold on," the husky said, holding his paws up placatingly, "I'm not here to start trouble, just want to talk."

"Are you Aiden or Ethan?" Mike asked, "And where's your brother?"

"Does it matter?" Shayne growled, baring fangs at the other canine and getting him to take a step back.

"I'm Aiden, Ethan's got Ryker occupied on the other end of the playground," the husky replied, eyeing Shayne warily, "look pup, if I wanted to fight you I wouldn't have come over here by myself, calm down, okay?"

Shayne's hackles rose at being called pup, but Mike put a paw on his shoulder before he could jump the other canine.

"Why are you here at all?" The ursine asked, "Shouldn't you have gotten in major trouble for trashing the bathrooms?"

"We did. A cop showed up and we spent the night at the sheriff's office. They were going to charge us with vandalism and suspend us, and a bunch of other stuff, but Ryker, the stag, you know? His dad paid for the repairs and to replace everything we dumped into the carpet, and made a donation to the school, so the lady fur from the school dropped the charges and we just have detention for three months," Aiden replied, "Which is why I'm here, actually. Ryker is pissed at you guys because you got him in trouble."

"We didn't get him in trouble," Rio called from his spot on the ground, "he got himself in trouble, it's not our fault that you guys decided to go and mess up the school. What was the point of that, anyway?"

"Yeah, I know, but he blames you for us getting caught because you locked us in," the husky replied, before looking at Toby, "he was mad at you to begin with because you interrupted him with the rabbit, and so convinced us to come back and trash stuff because he figured you'd get in trouble for not double checking the doors before you left."

"All this is very fascinating," Shayne cut in, a low growl undercutting his voice despite Mike's paw on his shoulder, "but what do you want?"

"Right, sorry," Aiden shook his head, "Like I said, Ryker is pissed, and he's looking for you guys. His big brother said that... well, I don't really want to repeat it. Long story short Ryker wants us to try and get you all in trouble so that you'll have detention."

Kody stiffened at that and pushed back farther from the husky, looking around as if contemplating trying to climb the fence and run.

Rio and Kaylie exchanged glances and tightened their grip on his paws. "Calm down... they can't do anything as long as school's in session and my dad'll be here afterwards, I promise."

"So," Shayne growled, stepping forward, temper flaring back up and shaking Mike's paw off his shoulder, "You came over here to-"

"Dude, chill!" Aiden took another step back, again raising his paws, "I came here to warn you, that's it. Look, I know that it's hard to trust me-"

"Why should we?" Mike interrupted, grunting with the effort of hauling Shayne back by his shirt, "you attacked our friend in the locker room, deliberately tried to get another friend in trouble, and then tried to attack me in the street. You don't have the best track record."

"Well, yeah you're right. Me and Ethan have kind of been dicks to you guys," the husky nodded,"but even still, you let us off the hook on saturday. You guys had us dead to rights, but you bailed us out. Consider this us repaying the favor."

"That's great, favor repaid, but what now?" Rio asked, "You tipped us off to Ryker's scheme today, and thanks for that, but he obviously told you what his end goal is. What are you going to do about that?"

"I... don't know." The husky admitted, "we've been friends with Ryker for a few years, and he managed to get us all riled up when we were at the sheriff's office, said that we were in trouble and it was all your fault. That's why we wanted to beat you up when we saw you on Saturday. You let us go though, and we've been thinking... Maybe we shouldn't listen to everything Ryker tells us."

"Ya shouldn' listen ta anyting he tells ya," Toby shook his head, "him or his older brudder. Have da two of ya talked to da policefurs yet?"

The husky shook his head, "No. Ryker has, but our dad couldn't get off work until after lunch, so we're talking to them then, why?"

"Because. That's the perfect time to say something," Mike said, "You said that you and your brother aren't going to mess with us, but it sounds like Ryker's big brother is determined to get his paws on us."

"From what you said, it sounds like his paws aren't the only things he wants to get on us," Zac added, "you know what the plan is. If it's so bad you aren't even willing to repeat it, shouldn't you try and stop it?"

"Yeah... Maybe... But... We'll get in trouble too, because we helped him-" The husky wavered, guilt warring with self preservation.

"Ya held da bunny's arms," Toby interrupted, "dat's all I saw. Far as I know, ya were just tryin' ta get his lunch money. Ya won't get in anymore trouble den yer already in, specially if everycub here tells da policefurs dat your brudder and ya came and gave us a heads up. Ryker might catch more heat, but dat's his fault for doin' his brudder's dirty work."

Aiden nodded slowly, but before he could say anything else, he jumped near out of his fur, reaching into his pocket. Swearing under his breath as he answered his phone. "Hey, Ryker.... They aren't over near the playground? Weird... Have I found them?" He raised his head and looked at Toby square in the eyes for a moment before replying, "No, they aren't around the soccer field either, maybe they stayed inside... Yeah, alright, I'll meet you guys near the doors, see you in a bit."

Hanging up, he bounced his phone in his paw for a few moments before shaking his head, "Whatever you guys do, don't hang around after school."

Turning on his heels, he jogged back across the field, picking up speed as he went.

"We're just letting him go?" Shayne blinked, watching the husky run off, before rounding on Mike, "and you let him off the hook earlier? What's the matter with you? With what he's done, you just gonna-"

"Shayne!" Zac shouted, turning the wolf around and hugging him tight, "Please... Just... Calm down."

"We ran into them on the way back from doing Skyler's lawn job," Rio said, "we got into a fight and I called my dad to come get us. I let them go though, because I figured that Ryker was the one that was actually goading them into being mean to other furs, and if we were nice to them it would pay off. And it looks like I was right."

"Dissension in the ranks," Shayne nodded, hugging Zac and reluctantly agreeing with Rio, "I'll buy that, but he just said that he's going to try and jump us after school-"

"No," Kaylie said, drawing Kody close to her, "he said that Ryker's big brother wanted to try and jump us after school."

"Exactly," Mike nodded, pulling his phone and the detective's business card from his pocket and gazing down at it, "and he hasn't gotten off the hook for that one yet. He said that him and his brother have their meeting with the policefurs after lunch. If they come clean and tell them about what Ryker's brother is planning, then they should be fine, because they helped. If not... Then they'll catch everything they deserve."

Seeing Mike's phone reminded Rio of his own cell in his paw, and he looked down at it, shaking his head at the half finished message and scrapping it, deciding to just call his dad instead.

"The policefurs won't tell you what they talked about will they?" Shayne asked, "They can't."

"Maybe not," Zac mused, "but if they get told that there's going to be a bunch of older furs waiting to jump some cubs after school, then they are going to stick around. If they just leave, then it's a fairly safe bet that Aiden and Ethan didn't say anything."

The rest of the conversation was lost to Rio, as his dad picked up.

"Hey Rio, everything okay?" The big cat asked, apprehension clear even through the cell connection.

"Yeah, dad, I'm good," Rio nodded,"for now anyway. Just taking you up on your offer for the ride home."

"What aren't you telling me, liten fyr..." Ivor asked softly.

""Dad, calm down, nothing's going to happen till after school." The cub replied, "Just try to get here before the last bell, okay? Remember the twin huskies that helped us load the lawn mower into the truck? One of them came and gave us a heads up that their stag friend's older brother might try something today. Oh, and Kody's brother is calling him so he might be getting a bit antsy."

The silence on the other end of the phone was thunderous as the big cat processed that statement. "Don't worry, Ivorion," he said softly after a moment, "have you called the policefurs?"

"No, I haven't, but can I?" The cub asked, "I mean nothing has happened yet, and I don't want to call them over nothing and..."

"If you feel worried, kjære, call them," Ivor replied, "that's what they are there for. I'll be there after school. Thank you for calling, but I need to get back in the truck and get driving now, did you need anything else?"

"No, I think we'll be okay, see you later dad."

"Alright, bye Rio."

Looking up, he saw Kaylie cuddling Kody, the little rabbit clutching tightly to her and being rocked as Toby calmly took apart the little bunny's phone.

"Ooookay... What did I miss?"

"Kody's phone wouldn't stop ringing and it was starting to get to him," the terrier replied softly, "so I told him to turn it off, but apparently the last time he did that, his brother got really mad and when he finally had to go home...

"

The puppy shook her head, unable to finish her thought, and Mike picked up the tale, Shayne shaking in anger while Zac did his best to calm him down.

"When he got home, his brother and our old pal Ding Dong and his big brother held him down and tied his paws behind his back before jabbing a bunch of hedgehog quills into his muzzle. He started mumbling and panicking at that point, but from what I got out of it, a quill got pulled out after each time the hedgehog it came from came in his muzzle, but they wouldn't let Kody suck them unless his muzzle was full of his brother's spunk."

Rio blinked, his muzzle opening in disbelief, but the horror of that idea robbed him of his voice. He'd accidently been jabbed by a porcupine before, and it had hurt a lot. That was just in the paw. To get a bunch of quills stuck in his muzzle and then forced to use the impaled muscles to... Shaking his head, he cleared the thought from his mind and rallied.

"Well, that's never happening again, cause he's not going back to his house," the tiger cub said firmly, "and if Ding Dong or his brother comes anywhere near my house, my dad'll break them in half."

"Dat's what I told him," Toby nodded, holding the pieces of Kody's phone out to Rio, battery and sim card having been removed, "he let me take his phone, but da memory's got him tripped out."

"I can't blame him..." Rio said, sliding the electronics into his pocket before crouching next to the bunny and his girlfriend, "It's okay, Kody, I promise that nothing's gonna happen to you..."

"He's going to get me..." the bunny whispered, "He always gets me..."

"Not this time," Kaylie said softly, gently grabbing the bunny's muzzle and making him look up at her, "because now, you're my boyfriend. That means that nofur gets to mess with you but me. Besides, you have all of us to watch your back."

Kody sniffled, the smallest flicker of hope lighting in his eyes, "But... they're bigger then you guys... they'll just make you do everything they make me do..."

"Not happening," Rio shook his head rubbing between the rabbit's ears, "just one of us, maybe. Maybe even two of us. But when all of us are together, we're unstoppable. Besides, have you seen my dad? You point out one fur that's bigger than my dad. I don't think even Mr. Hastings is bigger then my dad, and he's a bull."

"Yeah... but what about after school today? That husky said-"

"Rio called his dad," Shayne called over, now mostly calm and standing behind Zac with his arms around the kitten's waist, "After school today, you are going to be just fine."

"Right," Kaylie said, squeezing her boyfriend before looking down at her own phone, "Now, I think that by the time we get back to the doors, lunch will be just about over, so what do you say we get started heading that way?"

Kody sighed, not wanting to leave the terrier's arms, but had to nod. Accepting the paw that Mike offered him, he got to his footpaws and helped Kaylie up after him.

"Okay, everycub ready?" She asked looking around. Her smile faltered as she saw the mischievous look on Mike's face, "I'm not sure I like that look, what are you up to?"

"Oh... Nothing..." The ursine replied, grabbing Rio's paw, "Nofur is looking this way, right?"

"Well, no, I don't think so," the terrier replied, looking over the field to double check, "I don-"

Her reply was cut short as she heard a soft yip followed by a happy sigh. Turning around she groaned good naturedly, "Really guys?"

Having got the all clear, the bear cub had tugged his boyfriend close and brought their muzzles together. By the time Kaylie turned around, their eyes were closed and they were hugging each other close as their tongues danced. Not one to be left out, Shayne grinned as soon as he saw Mike kiss Rio and tilted Zac's head back, holding him tight as he kissed him deeply.

"Hey, da opportunity arose," Toby shrugged, "If my partner were here right now, I'd be doin' da same ting."

"You gonna tell me who the lucky girl is, Toby? Or... Boy, I guess?" Kaylie asked, trying to ignore the couples making out around her.

"Nope, not yet," the parrot shook his head, grinning at Kaylie's groan,"I will point out dat it doesn't make a whole lotta sense for ya ta be groanin' at me while your boyfriend is standin' dere watchin' everycub else kiss."

The terrier blinked and looked over at Kody, a shy smile crossing her face, instantly forgetting everycub else.

"Hey... Can... Can I kiss you, Kody?"

The little bunny was on the verge of backing away from the terrier, still slightly nervous about his brother, but then he remembered how good it had felt when Rio had kissed him on Sunday... And he nodded.

Kaylie's smile widened and she pulled him that last bit closer, "I've never kissed another fur..." she said nervously, "so-"

"Don't worry!" Rio said, pulling back from Mike and reaching down to adjust himself, his cubhood having slid free of his sheath and caused his jeans to tent, "Kody has! You've got this, bunny, show her how it's done!"

Smiling bashfully, the bunny brought their muzzles together, hesitantly poking at Kaylie's closed lips with his tongue. The terrier pulled back as she felt his tongue, rubbing at her lips and giggling.

"D-Did I do something wrong?" Kody looked over at Rio, confusion and doubt filling his eyes.

The little tiger glared good naturedly at Kaylie, and she blushed slighty. "Sorry, but that tickled!"

"Fair enough, but open your muzzle this time." Rio chuckled, looking back at Kody, "Don't worry, that was her mess up, not yours. Give it another shot, Kody."

"Yeah, my bad, Kody, I'm ready this time," The skater girl smiled, touching noses with the bunny when he turned back to her, "Promise."

Taking a deep breath to settle his nerves, Kody brought their muzzles together again. This time, when he went for it Kaylie parted her lips and his tongue slid deep into the the little terrier's muzzle.

She meeped softly at the new sensation of another fur's tongue in her mouth, but she quickly decided that she liked the way it felt. As a matter of fact, she liked it a lot, and wanted to return the favor. Hugging Kody tightly to her, she pushed against him, his tongue yielding to allow her access to his maw.

The rest of the cubs watched the two enjoy their first kiss for a few moments, snuggling each other happily, before Kaylie pulled back from the little lagomorph, panting with shining eyes.

"Did I do good?" Kody asked nervously, gazing into the terrier's face with apprehension.

"Good?" She breathed, "Kody you did great! That was awesome! We need to do that more, okay? Did I do okay?"

"If you're boyfriend's cub tent is any indication," Shayne chuckled, having broken his own kiss with Zac and now standing with his muzzle resting on the tabby's shoulder, "I'd say you did just fine."

Kody blushed furiously as he looked down at his bulging jeans, stepping back and turning away from the group as he adjusted himself.

"Shayne!" Kaylie admonished, through her giggles, obviously pleased that she had that kind of effect on the bunny, "That wasn't nice!"

"Hey, just calling it like I see it," the wolf shrugged with a grin as the other cubs laughed, "and I could definitely see it."

"Alright, now as fun as dis has been," Toby interrupted, laying a hand on Kaylie's shoulder, "and as much as I would love ta watch ya chew out da wolf, I'm startin' ta feel left out. My snuggle buddy isn't here right now, remember?"

"Yeah, sorry Toby," Kaylie said, giving the hatchling an apologetic look and snaking her paw out to slug Shayne's shoulder as he came around from behind the tabby.

The wolf yelped as he was hit, but shook his head, "Yeah, alright, I had that coming..."

"Sure did," Zac giggled, "if only because you knew she was going to swing at you and you didn't get out of the way."

Kaylie grinned, "Exactly, now come on, let's get going. Bell's gonna ring soon enough anyway."

Taking hold of Kody's paw, she turned and led the way back towards the school building, the rest of the cubs falling behind her, keeping their eyes peeled for trouble as they moved across the field.

"Hey Mike," Rio said, nudging his boyfriend, "let me see that card."

"The one for the policefurs?" Mike asked, holding it out, "Why?"

"Cause my dad said to call them if I was worried," Rio replied, pulling his phone out and dialing the number, "and I am definitely worried."

The ursine nodded, pocketing the card and stepping a bit closer to try and hear the other end of the conversation.

After a few rings the vixen answered the phone, "You've reached Detective Alexis Declan, how can I help you?"

"Umm, hey Detective Declan, it's me, you know, Rio?" The tiger stammered, the official and authoritarian tone the vixen answered with catching him off guard.

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line as the policefur processed the name, but her tone was much softer and more kind when she replied again. "Of course. The tiger cub I spoke with earlier. What can I do for, Mr. Kendrick, is everything okay?"

"Yeah, at least for now it is," the cub nodded, the softer tone making him much less nervous, "but you said to call if there was anything we thought you needed to know."

"I certainly did," the vixen replied, "did you remember something else or did something happen...?"

"Well, Aiden Gage came to talk with us during lunch recess and-"

"Hold on, Rio, one second," the detective gently interrupted before covering the mouthpiece, her muffled voice sounding, followed by shuffling papers and a muffled conformation from her partner, "Aiden Gage, one of the huskies that messed up the bathrooms here and attacked your friend?"

"Yeah, him," Rio nodded, "Well, like I said, he came and talked to us."

"Alright, is everyfur okay? Did he threaten you?"

"No, well, yes then no. We're all okay and he didn't threaten anycub, the opposite actually. He came to warn us. His friend Ryker's older brother told them to try and get us in trouble so we'd have to stay after. He didn't say exactly why, but he told us that it'd be a really bad idea if we were here after school."

"You think that Ryker's brother is going to try something after most other furs have left?" The vixen asked, her tone still soft though with an undercurrent of agitation.

"I kind of think so, yeah." Rio nodded again, even though he knew the detective couldn't see him, "He said that him and his brother were going to talk to you after lunch, but just in case he chickened out and didn't tell you about it, I thought I give you a heads up."

"You made the right decision, Rio," the detective asserted firmly, "calling us if you feel scared or frightened is never the wrong choice. Now, have you called your father? I don't think that it would be wise for you to walk home or take the bus today."

"Yeah, I called my dad, he'll probably be here before school's even out."

"Smart cub. Don't worry, we'll handle everything. Is there anything else you feel like I need to know about this?"

The little tiger thought about telling Declan that Chris was calling Kody, but with the little bunny right in front of him, he couldn't think of a way to say it without tipping the lagomorph off, so he shook his head. He'd tell his dad and they'd go from there.

"No, I think that's it."

"Okay," the vixen said, obviously suspicious that the cub was withholding things but deciding not to press him, "thank you again for letting me know, and don't worry. We'll handle this. Have a good day at school, Rio."

"Will do, goodbye Detective Declan."

As he hung up and pocketed his phone, he looked up to see everycub else looking at him.

"Well?" Kayle asked,"What did she say?"

"That they'd take care of it, we should probably get a ride home, and to have a good day at school." Rio replied.

"Your dad will handle the ride, but I think that having a good day at school is a bit much..." Shayne chuckled.

"Oh I don't know," Mike grinned flicking an exaggerated glance at Rio's hidden diaper, "I think that me and Rio have had a fantastic day so far."

Rio blushed to the tips of his ears as he recalled the feeling of the ursine cocklette pumping in and out of his tailhole, the rest of the cubs chuckling before picking up the pace. The bell had rung, signalling the end of lunch recess and a return to the classroom.
