Llewellyn Lionheart was a simple black bear, living in the area of Fordisle, Colorado. He was born August 1, 1851 in Denver City, Colorado to Joseph and Nicole Lionheart. They moved to Fort Fordisle in 1859 when he was eight hoping to avoid the Civil War. Llewellyn was only eight years old when the fighting broke out. There were only minor skirmishes in colorado. Unfortunately, Llewellyn would see one of his friends, an elf named Telfryn, die in one of those skirmishes. It left a lasting impression on the bear.

As Llew grew up, he started to find himself interested in law enforcement. When he was twenty, he ran for the local office of Sheriff; he lost to a coyote by the name of Beaufort but became one of his deputies for the city of Fordisle. The office was only for six years or until death.

When Llewellyn turned 25, the Territory of Colorado became the State of Colorado. He ran for Sheriff again and won, winning three more terms before being able to retire comfortably. The state allowed the sheriff to keep 50% of all fines and loot gathered during any arrest. He retired when he was 43 years old in 1894.

He met his wife, a lovely wolfess named Nora, the next year. They had two sons and a daughter.

Llewellyn died at the age of 75 in 1926, having briefly survived in the Great War before being injured. It was due to this lasting injury that he died; surrounded by his children and three grandchildren. The city of Fordisle erected a statue to their beloved sheriff shortly after. It stands in a garden near the library to this day.
