Just a short story i'm gonna do.

Kaden pondered the events of the past few days as he sat watching his younger brother, Tommie play with some of his old plushies. A dragoness, red scales, black hide and dazzling yellow eyes had happened to be working the bar when he decided to get a drink, which ended up being water because he was too nervous to drink, thinking he'd make a fool of himself. He left after an hour and returned the next day, just his luck that she was there again. He gained the confidence to ask her out and then she dropped the "I'm a herm." bomb. One thing led to another and he ended up getting banged by the dragoness whose name was Sarah, and her sister Amelia.

After a day or two of similar activity, Sarah revealed she hypnotized him to like the sorts of things that they did to him, he said it was fine and they ended up actually going out. He invited her over and they had a game of truth or dare where he ended up revealing his family's secret, that they were Oathkeepers. Oathkeepers make a pact with a deity whose power is limited to their own realm, the deity Ikon who desires to protect the mortal realm and it's inhabitants from those who would do it harm. This pact grants those who make it incredible power compared to that of mortals. His parents had made this pact and now them and their offspring must serve Ikon when they are off age. Kaden however, had no power.

Everyday he committed rituals that were supposed help reveal your power but he got nothing in return. Even Tommie, his four year-old brother had a fucking power. Kaden's mood lowered at this thought, his self-esteem plummeting down into a bottomless pit that tore at it every moment it was there. "Big bro," Tommie looked at him, his face in a cute little frown "Don't swear!" Oh yeah, Tommie could hear everything, literally. It might not seem useful to fight but their Dad said it would grow to ensure Tommie could protect everyone and uphold his duty as an Oathkeeper.

"Sorry Tommie, I'm just tired and forgot." Kaden smiled a little which eased Tommie's worries.

"Okay Kay-Kay." Kay-Kay, easier for him to say than Kaden, and it kinda just stuck. The two black furred wolves yawned in unison and laughed at the interaction.

"Let's get you to bed little man." Tommie giggled at this.

"Okay bro." He spread his arms out as Kaden reached to pick him up, tickling him as he did. "Stop Kaden!" Tommie squirmed in his brother's grasp laughing until Kaden's paw reached just under his right shoulder-blade and scratched twice, causing the cub to instantly drop into slumber. Kaden placed him in the cub's bed and pulled the covers over him. Kaden then walked into his room, quietly shutting the door behind him and flopping onto his bed, his weak body aching slightly from the fall. "Ow...." He ended up falling to sleep shortly after, forgetting to change into something more comfortable, the mistake would definitely cause him pain in the morning.

"_Kaden..."_A voice echoed through the void he found himself in, he looked around but saw only the blackness that engulfed him.

"Who are you?" Kaden yelled out and attempted to put himself in a position to fight but he felt as though the floor was swept out from under him as he began to fall. He cried out and lost control of his body, seeing it flail around he began to panic, he could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he began to sweat, the tears that began to form in his eyes trailed behind him.

"Do not fear Kaden, you are safe." The voice echoed around him again as the view of a tiled stone floor came into view. His eyes clenched shut as he prepared for death's embrace, which..... didn't come? Kaden looked around to find himself standing, in the nude, on a circular platform of tiled stone that felt warm to the touch.

Realizing that someone was probably watching himself, Kaden moved to cover himself but found that he was now wearing what appeared to be robes and some sort of underclothing that he didn't care to take a look at right now. "Who are you?" His voice was quieter and calmer now, though he figured that was the work of whatever owned the mysterious voice.

"I am Ikon, protector of the mortal realm and patron deity of your family. I have come to grant you your power." His eyes widened at the information that was revealed to him, a sense of awe and excitement overcame the seventeen year-old wolf, shortly overcome by fear and confusion as he witnessed that, twenty foot away from him, the ground began to fall away as two large, muscular shadow-like claws emerged from the void below and slammed into the ground, the stone tearing as the claws gripped down to allow that which owned them to pull itself upward. "Do not fear child, all of your family have gone through this, if your brother when he was 2 could do it, then so can you , correct?"

Kaden looked around for a weapon, only to find that white and blue sparkles were forming in the shape of a large, great sword. A moment later he felt a moderate weight on his arms as a grey great sword appeared in his paws that slammed into the ground. At the same time, the beast managed to pull itself up, leaping upward and crashing down the tiles around it flying upward. The beast seemed like it could be a member of the lupine species if it weren't for the fact that it's whole eight foot body were covered from head-to-toe in shadow, muscles bulging, a stooped posture that added more to it's feral appearance. He gulped as the beast's emotionless, yellow eyes stared into his own, piercing his body and gazing into his weakened, pitiful soul.

Whilst Kaden assessed that he couldn't wield the sword, as the beast charged at him on all fours, his body had other things to say. He swung the sword with a great deal of force at the beast's stomach as it leapt at him, causing it to be flung away as a chunk was torn out of it's form. It slammed into the ground and quickly returned to it's feet. The beast charged again, not relenting in it's attacks despite the injury. Kaden barely managed to dodge and divert the beast's brutal assault, in between pants he yelled at the creature. "You want my soul huh?! - Well too bad, - it may be pathetic and weak, - but this soul belongs to a powerful, and honourable Oathkeeper family and I won't let you take it without a fight." The creature seemed to shirk away from him upon hearing the proud statement, the motion went unnoticed by the wolf who charged forward and swung the sword upward across the creature's torso with such force that the blade and his body turned away from the creature. He spun around, the tip of his blade grinding against the smooth, tiled floor, raising to slash the beast's torso which caused it to lurch back. Kaden's heart pumped fast, blood rushing through his veins as he got caught up in the fight, any fear he once possessed forcefully removed from his body through sheer force of will. In an attempt to finish the creature that was forced on all fours from pain, he hoisted the blade above his shoulder and with great effort, brought it down upon the beast's head. It's entire body faded into nothingness as he lost the newfound strength he temporarily gained from what he presumed to be Ikon's divine power as well as the sword that dissipated with a gentle flash.

"Very good Kaden, I deem you worthy of the power you have fought for, now claim it." The voice echoed through the void again as the wolf struggled to catch his breath.

"And how would I do that." The wolf's gentle voice called out to the deity.

"Present your arm to me." The wolf offered no verbal response, simply raising his right arm into what he would call a sky were it not for the darkness that engulfed the whole place. As soon as he did a light engulfed his forearm and paw, he turned away from the blinding light, feeling a tingling in some sort of pattern in the aforementioned areas. Eventually the light faded and he turned to see a white tattoo, that's glow was fading, the tattoo's major features were a large amount of connected or interlocking arcs that covered his paw and forearm, additionally, the thing that stuck out to Kaden was the image of a blade that was imprinted on the back of his forearm.

"Woah..." His jaw dropped at the sight.

"Kaden, you are now a true Oathkeeper, be proud that you can live up to the reputation of the Mason family and carry out my will, I will leave you now, to enjoy your mortal life." Kaden saw the tiles falling away around him as Ikon finished his sentence. Just before the last tiles fell and Kaden fell he heard the voice again. "You might want to work on that scrawny little body of yours, you'll need a healthy body for what you'll be doing." At this he fell into the void, his vision fading...
