Hey it's the Visionary here with a new upload. I decided to start a new series based off of another fanfic called 'Sought After.' Think of this as my obligatory pokemon fanfic ; ) So this story takes place in a pokemon au where pokemon are the ruling class and humans are nothing more that glorified pets, slaves if you will. The humans live to serve their masters and they're mated off at 18 yrs. This story follows my titular hero Jeeve Javari as he fights against his society due to his 18th birthday being mere weeks away. He's gotta think fast if he's going to survive, but in the end will it even matter? So like I said this story is based heavily off of Clamorem Luporum's fanfic, you can find it here https://www.sofurry.com/view/1257280

And with that I bid you adieu

"Valedictorian . . . I'm the valedictorian . . . Arceus help me." Jeeve covered his mouth in disgust at the list, his name above hundreds upon hundreds of others. The human just couldn't believe it, so he stood still, petrified at what he had accomplished.

"Aw snap! Jeeve you did it bro, and look! I made salutatorian! Thanks for letting me copy off all those tests again!" Jeeve turned over and looked at the lucario shaking his head. The human pushed past his Pokemon friend and snatched the list, tearing it to shreds in front of his face. The lucario stood dumbfounded and watched in confusion as Jeeve stormed out the hallway.

"Wait up bud! If it's about the cheating well I'm sorry!" Jeeve ignored him and pushed past the crowd of humans and pokemon alike, all congratulating him on the accomplishment, for no human ever had made valedictorian at Kalos high. The distressed human finally made it to the school's parking lot and began searching for his car.

"Wait pal! What's wrong?! You should be happy!" The human stopped walking and turned around slowly saying

"Be happy?! You want me to be happy about this?!"

"Well yea . . . right?" Jeeve facepalmed then turned back to his car, fiddling with the tricky lock.

"Wait Jeeve talk to me. It's me Ricardo remember? We've been best buds since elementary school." Jeeve opened his car door the paused saying "I-I can't be valedictorian! It's not possible!"

Ricardo tilted his head in confusion then replied "Why are you so upset about this!? You've worked so hard to get here!"

"Why am I so upset!? Rick look at me! What do you see?!" The lucario scratched his chin and hummed quietly then said

"Well I see a 6' foot brown skinned human, slick glasses, puffed up Afro, nice clothes, awesome personality, and super smart! What're you so worked up about?" Jeeve placed his hands over his face and fell on the floor crying

"Don't you get it!? I'm going to be 18 in two weeks!? I already had pokemon lining up to mate me, but now after being valedictorian!? The whole school's gonna be fighting to get in my pants!"

Ricardo laughed heartily then replied "Well what's wrong with that? An army of pokemon ready to throw them selves in your arms? Sounds like the life to me!"

"Stop doing that!"

"Doing what?"

"Looking at my situations through your poke-tinted glasses! Don't play coy with me now, we both know what happens to humans once their 18. They're quickly snatched up by some waiting pokemon, most times raped into submission where they live out the rest of their days, slaves to their mates. That's going to be my fate in just two short weeks . . . I don't want to be some pokemon's pet! I wanna make my own decisions, I-I wanna live!"

Ricardo quickly grabbed his friend and wrapped him in a hug saying

"First off . . No homo, but you really needed a hug. Dude don't worry, you're not going to be raped by anyone! Afterall it's not rape if you enjoy it!" Jeeve pushed the lucario away saying

"That's the stupidest thing you've ever said! It is rape if it's not wanted! If I don't want to mate with someone there's nothing I can do! All they have to do is report me and I'll be forced to mate with them anyway! This whole society is bullshit! Like right now you could go grab some human girl off the streets and fuck her brains out and there's nothing she could do!"

Ricardo stood still with his mouth agape, he'd never seen his friend this enraged about life before. The lucario stood around awkwardly then asked

"Wow I-I uh . . .You uh . . . Wanna go get something to eat?" Jeeve sighed and nodded his head a little.

"Hop in Rick, we're gonna go for a ride." The lucario excitedly jumped in his friend's sports car and said

"Now that's what I'm talking about! For a second I thought you were gonna leave me all alone back there! You do know you're my ride home right?"

"Yea yea I know." The human started the car and carefully pulled out the parking lot, setting the vehicle in drive he took off down the bustling streets of Kalos. The two maintained a quiet silence between each other until Ricardo coughed saying

"Hey pal I know you're not really feeling great and all, but what would you like for your big day?" Jeeve's hands tightened around the steering wheel as he said

"My freedom . . ."

Ricardo loosened his collar replying

"W-Well I'll cross Gamestop gift card off the list then . ." Jeeve chuckled replying

"That's alright Rick. You're a good friend, you really don't need to get me anything."

Ricardo laughed saying "That's great cuz' I'm broke . . . uh speaking of which. You wanna spot me for lunch? I promise i got you next time we go out!" The human smiled and said

"Sure I'll put it on your tab. I mean at this point you might as well try to consolidate your debt because you owe me close to a hundred right about now." Ricardo threw his paws up and shrugged, eliciting a laugh from the human.

The two pulled up to The Grease Trap, a local diner that many young teens, pokemon and human alike frequented. Jeeve and Rick strolled inside and took their usual seats in the back, waiting to order.

Ricardo casually tapped his fingers across the table and said "You ever think about the future bro? Like what're you gonna do after high school?" Jeeve thought about the question then sighed saying

"I think about what I'd like to do when I graduate. My dream is to be a human activist and fight for my species' rights, but my dream dies with every passing day . . ."

" . . . You can be surprisingly poetic when you want to be." Rick and Jeeve shared a laugh but stopped when Rick turned and said "Uh oh bro, looks like your crush is here!" Jeeve tilted his body and locked eyes with her

"Oh shit . . ." Staring the human back was his good friend Dahlia. The human and delphox had been friends since middle school, making her a serious potential mate for him. The thought of being tied down to her didn't sound so bad, but Jeeve was a career driven human and he refused for to bend to the whims of any pokemon . . . even if they were as hot as Dahlia.

The delphox smiled brightly at the boys then walked over saying

"Hi guys! Fancy meeting you here."

"Same here D. I decided to take my main man out for lunch! After all he is the valedictorian!"

"Really Rick? Just wanna announce that to the world now don't ya?"

"Sorry bro, but I'm just so proud! You also brought me to the top with you, which means I'm also a genius!"

"More like a genius at copying . . ."

"Take your victories where you can bud." Dahlia snicked and sat down next to Jeeve saying

"You guys are like two peas in a pod. I can't believe we've been friends this long! What's next for us?" Jeeve's smile faltered causing him to say

"Don't know about you two, but I'm going to be mated off to some random pokemon in the coming weeks. After that I'll probably be a stay at home dad or something!" Dahlia grabbed Jeeve's hands exclaiming

"You're the smartest person to ever come out of Kalos high! You can do anything you set your mind too! Just repel all those nasty thoughts of having a bad future!"

"Top bad he can't help me repel some jerks at school! Did you know Tony's been giving me a problem since we were in 8th grade!?" Jeeve's thoughts drift for a moment as his friends continue talking without him. The human looks down then suddenly springs up saying

"That's it! Rick you're a genius!"

"That's what I keep telling people, but they never listen . . . Wait what'd I say?"

"Repel . . . Repellent . . . Pokemon Repellent! I think I can synthesize a poke repellent to protect me when I turn 18! Just think about it! No longer will humans have to mate with pokemon against their will!"

Ricardo stood up and patted Jeeve on his back saying "Now that's using the old noodle! And since I'm so smart I can help you bro!"

"I want to help too." Jeeve looked at Dahlia and asked

"You wanna help me? But why?"

"We're friends you idiot! I don't want anything bad to happen to you either! Friends stick together and if this is what it takes to protect you, then I'm in too!" Jeeve smiled brightly at his friends and said

"Thanks you guys! This really means a lot to me." Dahlia stood up and wrapped Jeeve in a hug saying "Don't worry J. I'm here for you and I won't let anything happen to you."

"And I'm here too dude! We'll build your bug spray and you can live out the rest of your life as a . . . Civil right's archivist?"

" . . . close enough."

DOWNTOWN LUMIOSE CITY

Jeeve scowled as he drove around downtown Lumiose city. On the surface people saw the bright lights, fancy restaurants, and top notch gallerias, but deep down in the heart of the city things weren't all sunshine and butterflies . . . Jeeve shuddered as he pulled into the parking lot of Arc's hideout. Arc's hideout was a seedy strip club his mother worked at. He absolutely hated that she had to do this to support herself, but there was nothing he could.

The human stepped out the car and cringed at the whistles and catcalls he received. He turned and saw various pokemon all of which were scantily clad, egging him on, taunting him with the promise of a good time. The human politely declined and hurried up the steps of the back house bar. Jeeve stepped over the club's threshold and did his best to hold back a vomit. The bar reeked of cheap alcohol, nasty cigarettes, sweaty fur, used condoms, and broken dreams.

The human peered through the dark club past the streaming neon lights, past the horny pokemon and saw his mom. The woman who birthed him, the woman who raised him up to be the man he was today . . . bounding up and down in the lap of some machoke. It burned the human up inside, but he kept his calm cool composure and waited off by the side. Once the machoke was done, he lifted Jeeve's tired mother off his lap and practically threw her to the side. She stumbled off and fell, causing Jeeve to dart past the crowd and catch her saying

"H-Hey mom." His mother cast a tired glance at him as if she was trying to remember who he was. Her eyes finally lit up and she said

"Javari baby! How have you been?"

"Uh fine . . . Can we talk somewhere private? I don't think the dance floor is the greatest place for catching up." His mother nodded excitedly and hopped up, leading him off to one of the break rooms in the back. Once inside she closed the door and sighed heavily.

"So how has my big strong man been?"

Jeeve flopped back on the couch and replied "I've been good. I finally put a new coffee inside the apartment. The old one broke after Ricardo tried to do a front flip over it and failed."

His mother chuckled and sat down next to him saying "What's wrong son? You're usually never this quiet."

Jeeve looked off to the side saying "You know my birthday's in two weeks . . ."

"Oh that's what this is about . . . Look Jeeve I-"

"Save it mom . . . I don't want to feel better, I want my freedom!" Stella Javari reached over for the table and grabbed her glasses saying

"So you want freedom eh? Do you know what freedom is?"

"I know it's not how society is run now! Mom I love you with all my heart I really do, but what happened to you?! You're a certified genius! You discovered the cure for the pokemon flu! You were a prestigious scientist! We had a good life back home!"

Stella Javari reached for her son's hands crying and said

"Jeeve my son. I know you're angry with society, angry about our circumstances, but there's nothing we can do. How do you think I feel? I used to work 9-5 in a sterile environment, mixing chemicals and solving life's mysteries . . . And now I'm a glorified prostitute, barely able to support myself . . ."

"Mom . . I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings!" The human hugged his mother tightly saying

"I'm just scared! I made valedictorian, I've got a gpa that could take me to any school I wanted, but I'm fighting against the odds here! I don't wanna be mated off to someone I barely know! I want to be a person not property!"

His mother nodded knowingly then coughed violently as her son held her. Jeeve patted her back in vain and only watched as his mother suffered. Stella stopped coughing, but her breath had not yet steadied leaving Jeeve to say

"Mom you need to find a new job! This place is going to kill you!"

"I-I . . c-can't l-leave."

"Mom you're sick, bruised, and battered! How can you not leave!?"

"Calm down sweetie. I'm fine, I've got a few good years left in me. Now I don't want you worrying about me, I want you to live out the rest of time being happy!"

"I-I guess you're right . . . Oh I almost forgot! I'm working on a . . . come here a little." Stella leaned in and covered her mouth at what Jeeve had whispered.

"Jeeve!"

"What!?"

"You can not do that! That's borderline illegal!"

"I don't care! I refuse to be slave to Pokemon no longer! Look mom . . . I need your old notes. I know you did research on human and Pokemon irritants, I know you don't approve, but please let me have them! I can change the course of history for humans! Things can get better for us!"

Stella Javari shook her head disapprovingly and said "Son. What you're planning on doing is not only ethically wrong, but morally too. You're planing on essentially overthrowing the entire Pokemon race . . ." Jeeve hung his head low in shame, allowing his mother to continue

"But . . . I approve. Knock em' dead son." Jeeve looked up with hope filled eyes as his mother took off her necklace saying

"You see son, a good scientist never leaves home without their work." Stella tossed the necklace to him and watched in glee as he opened the heart shaped case., revealing a micro sd card.

"T-Thank y-you mom . . ." The human wrapped his sickly mother up in another hug, practically crying in her neck.

"I'm glad I had you . . . You're going to do great things for humans everywhere, I just know it!"
