A new series I've started on for my Patreon, but I'll slowly upload the chapters here.

Malcolm wasn't looking forward to starting at college. The University of Beldover was not his first choice. However, the arrival of a new Fox professor might just liven things up.

Truth be told, I wasn't looking forward to starting at the University of Beldover, but if I was to finish my history degree, I had no choice.

I was reflecting on that as I searched for a seat in the lecture theatre. The class was full of people who were already chatting to each other and ignoring me as I looked for somewhere to sit down. Owing to the fact I had missed Fresher's Week, I hadn't gotten a chance to meet many of my classmates yet. "Psst, hey, Malc!" someone called, and I looked up to see a fawn coloured Jindo waving to me. I grinned and felt relieved.

At least I have someone I can hang out with.

The Jindo was called Hudson and he's an international student who had been born in Korea but adopted as a cub by a Canadian family. He was sitting next to a Vixen by the name of Charlotte who was the only British student on the course that I was friendly with. "Come on, unless you want to sit on the floor," she said as I sat beside Hudson. The three of us made an unusual group of friends; Hudson like to wear t-shirts with rude logos on, had dyed the fur on his head blue and his ears had several hooped piercings in them. I knew my mum would probably raise her eye-brows if he visited home and I introduced him as my best friend. In reality, he's a super nice guy and as far as I was aware, the only other gay guy in my lectures. I don't have a very good, what's the word? Ah yeah, gaydar, but it was pretty obvious by looking at him. By contrast, Charlotte is prim and proper looking, always dressed nicely (not that I know much about fashion) and is well-spoken. Yet, for some reason she decided she wanted to be friends with us. Hudson was somewhat of an outcast being an international student and Charlotte had started late like me. She was also my age which helped us to bond. _Most of the girls in the class seem silly,_she had remarked to me after our first lecture together. Even though I'm not interested in girls I had to agree.

Then, there is me; I'm Malcolm Ritchie, a skinny, shy looking tan Alsatian with a black muzzle. I was never confident about my looks, even though Hudson kept telling me I was handsome with a nice body and striking green eyes. Feeling self-conscious, I kept trying to dispute his claims, even when he said I was gifted in the downstairs department.

Anyway, more on that later and back to the class.

I pulled out my laptop and booted it up. "You looking forward to this class?" I asked Charlotte. "I can't say Warfare and Battles are my favourite subjects," the Vixen sighed. "But I needed to fill out a module space. I wonder what the professor is like?" "He's a Fox, from what I've heard," Hudson replied. "Dr Lachlan Ross." There was about three minutes before the lecture was due to begin and I searched his name under the faculty directory on the university website. Each professor had a staff profile, but Lachlan Ross' was almost empty. There was not much to say other than he had served in the army and joined the University of Beldover that year. "He's new," I remarked. "Hmm, I wonder what he looks like?" Hudson mused. "A Fox history lecturer, I bet he's a skinny guy in tweed." "Probably," I replied. Just as the words had escaped my muzzle, the door to the lecture room opened and a Fox walked in.

I admit, my jaw almost hit the floor.

The stereotypical image of a Fox is that of a skinny and twinkish looking guy. This Fox was something else; he was tall, broad-shouldered and his jaw had a firm, manly look to it. In fact, his whole body screamed manly. He was dressed in black motorcycle leathers and carrying a helmet under one arm. I could see his muscles ripple and flex as he walked, but he carried his muzzle in the air in an almost regal, aristocratic way. The fur on his face and ears was a luscious orange while his muzzle and jaw were white. His eyes were an intense yet dreamy shade of amber. I guessed he was probably in his early thirties; his face looked youthful but nowhere near twinkish. The Fox turned and surveyed the class with something close to a smile on his muzzle. "Skinny guy in tweed my arse," I muttered. "You want him to do what to your arse?" Hudson replied and I turned to see he was just as transfixed as I was. I half expected Charlotte to be rolling her eyes at us, but even she seemed impressed by the lecturer. I turned back to face the Fox as he plugged his USB stick into the lecture room computer and turned to make sure his presentation was showing. My heart skipped a beat in my chest as I caught a glimpse of his perky, well-rounded bubble butt in the leathers. "My apologies for walking in dressed like this," Lachlan said in a deep, yet warm voice, gesturing to his leathers. "I usually go for more formal, but the traffic into town was quite bad so I had to walk straight to the classroom." "I wish you dressed like that every day," I sighed dreamily before turning to Charlotte and Hudson who were still gazing at him. "Anyone want to move to the front row?" "Yeah, yeah I'm down for that idea," the Jindo replied, his eyes still in a trace like state. "Same, shall we?" Charlotte said.

We all stood and moved down to the front row which, typically, had been left unoccupied. Lachlan turned to face us. "I hope my class hasn't bored you already, we haven't started yet," he said to us with a wry grin and something close to a wink. "Oh, uh, no we couldn't see at the back," I claimed, feeling my ears burn and adrenaline rush through my body. "Very well," he replied. "I make it ten o'clock, so we will begin." the Fox turned and surveyed the class. "How many of you have studied military history before?" A small amount of paws were raised. Lachlan smiled and nodded. "In essence, we are going to cover a lot of violence, death and bloodshed, so it won't be case of just talking about battle tactics and guns." "I wouldn't mind kissing his guns," Hudson chuckled. "Shush," Charlotte replied. "Now, who knows who this guy is with the silly hair?" Lachlan said, putting up a picture on the PowerPoint. The room was silent but I knew who it was from taking a similar class at my old university. I raised my paw. "Go on?" Lachlan encouraged, fixing me a warm gaze with his amber eyes. I felt like my heart was about to melt, but I snapped myself out of it. "Clausewitz?" I said nervously. "Well done," Lachlan replied. "How did you recognise him?" "Um, I did a little about him at my old university before I came here," I admitted shyly. "Knowledge is knowledge, no matter where you pick it up from," the Fox said, shooting me a reassuring smile before turning back to the class. "Now, I don't want to go into the whole life story thing, but when I was in the marines this gentleman played quite a big influence on me," Lachlan began, but I admit my mind began to wonder.

Lachlan Ross in a military uniform? Yes please!

The Fox was still taking, but I was transfixed by the sight of him in his leathers. Whenever he turned to gesture at the presentation, I got a good view of his behind and I felt dick start to stiffen.

No, not now!

I forced myself to concentrate on what Lachlan was saying, but my mind kept going to places I didn't want it to in a lecture hall; Lachlan bending over in his leathers, Lachlan in his underwear, Lachlan naked. I pushed them all away and stared at the PowerPoint.

Eventually, Lachlan concluded the lecture. "Right, I'll see seminar group one first and then two afterwards. Everyone know where they are going?" he asked. This was followed by a chorus of yes and nodding heads. "Good, I'll see you all there." Everyone began filing out of the room and I followed Charlotte and Hudson. "Wow," I breathed as we walked outside. "He was just, just," I added, trying to find the right word. "Not what we were expecting," Hudson filled it. "I admit, he was dishy," Charlotte chuckled. "Heh, even you were captivated," I laughed. "Normally when Hudson and I comment that we find a guy attractive you just sigh." "I know, but I can see why you like him," Charlotte replied. "In other words, you have a crush on him too, or what's the word in the UK? Ah yeah, you fancy him," Hudson said in an exaggerated English accent. "Boys," Charlotte sighed as we walked out of the building and onto the campus green.

It was a warm September and the sun was out. Other students were sitting on the grass reading or chatting in groups. "Us three are all in seminar two, aren't we?" I asked. Charlotte nodded. "Why don't we sit down for a bit?" she suggested. We all set our bags down and sat on the grass. "I see you didn't have to slide under the desk in class," Hudson chuckled. "What?" I replied. "As in the Fox in leather didn't cause you to get too excited and you had to hide it?" he said with a smirk. "Oh, it almost did," I sighed. "You two!" Charlotte replied with a half-sigh, half-chuckle. "I am going to have to roll my eyes at that." "Yeah, but you like him too," Hudson replied. "Hmm, all that leather. I wonder if he's into that sort of thing?" "How do you even know he's gay?" Charlotte asked. "He's a Fox, which means he might like a nice lady Vixen." "No man that dashing or regal is straight, especially not nowadays," I countered. "Sad but true," the Vixen replied. "Shame, all the handsome and nice men are gay." "Where are they?" Hudson asked. The Jindo and Charlotte began chatting and joking amongst themselves about men as my mind began to wonder.

Before I'd started at Beldover, I had originally been offered a place at Oxford a couple of years back. I'd passed the interview and got all the appropriate grades. I felt so excited; unusually, I was the only Alsatian in my class and I hadn't gone to a super prestigious private school. I felt like I'd conquered the world. Then, I came down with meningitis in my first week. It had been a particularly bad strain which had caused me to miss a whole year of university. I was kept in the hospital for some time before I was discharged. I was offered my place back, but to add injury to insult in this case, I was then involved in a bad car accident.

The accident was not my fault, well not entirely. I pulled out of a blind bend without pausing, but an idiot Hound going above the speed limit smashed his van into the side of my car. This resulted in me getting hospitalised again, losing my place at Oxford for a second time and my mum freaking out.

After these calamities my mum wanted me to attend the local university near her place in case something bad happened again, but I didn't want to go there as it was too close to home and not as prestigious. After some arguing, with me stating that I was beyond the age where I could be told where to live, we decided that I could go to Beldover where my auntie and cousin were living. My mum felt reassured that a relative could keep an eye on me while I had some freedom - to a degree that is, as I was living at my auntie's house (cheaper, but less exciting that student halls). The University of Beldover has a good name for itself, but it was not my type of university. The campus is in a small market town in the middle of nowhere; not exactly the sort of place I wanted to escape to. I'm also two years older than all the other students in my year and I was not the only Alsatian in my history class. The best looking Alsatian was a guy called Alex Pryce who captained the lacrosse team. If Lachlan was gay and had a crush on anyone in the class, it would be Alex.

But, if Lachlan was interested in me, perhaps my time at Beldover wouldn't be so bad after all.

It wasn't just that I thought the Fox was good looking, I was in love with him. A number of ideas began running through my head; ask him out on a date, try and see if he wants to go for dinner somewhere fancy? "Anyone at home?" Hudson asked. "Huh?" I replied. "You were off in your head." "Yeah, I was just thinking of Lachlan," I replied. "Heh, still on that?" Charlotte chuckled. "We'd moved on to discussing the seminar reading." "I think I might be in love," I said. "What, with Lachlan Ross?" Hudson replied. "Who else?" I sighed. "I want to ask him out." Hudson and Charlotte looked at each other and laughed. "Hey, it's not like you two weren't eyeing him up!" I said indignantly. "True, but he's a professor. We're students, there's probably some rule about that," Hudson replied. "And we've only known him for like what, an hour?" "I do plenty of window shopping, but it doesn't always mean I buy something," Charlotte added. "You two have changed your tune," I sighed. "A moment ago you were both the same as me." "Dude, I don't think I can actually date the guy," Hudson said. "I mean, gazing at his butt is one thing, going on a date is another." "Well, I want to try," I sighed. "I want to kiss him, go for dinner, see a nice movie." "Go to a beach and watch him emerge like Aquaman from the water?" Charlotte teased. "Whatever, I want to get to know him better at the very least," I said. "Did you see how muscular he was, I wouldn't mind him holding me and having his way in bed." "All the gay Sheps I met were tops and Alphas," Hudson said. "I wouldn't know," I sighed. "Okay, if you're actually serious about this, why not try chatting to him at the end of the seminar?" Charlotte suggested. I sensed by her tone that she was trying to humour me, but my mind was already forming a plan.

Charlotte glanced at her watch. "We'd probably better go," she said. "Try to keep your erection down," Hudson added with a grin. "Pfft, you can talk," I replied as I gathered my bag. "What room are we in?" "Hamilton building, room thirty," Charlotte replied as we began walking. "I didn't know it was going to be so warm here in September," Hudson said, fanning himself with his paw. "The weather in the UK isn't exactly consistent," I replied. "I wish there was a creek or a river around here," the Jindo continued. "On a day like this I'd go swimming in the creek near my Dad's ranch." "You could swim in the river in Beldover?" I suggested with a grin. "I wouldn't recommend that," Charlotte said. "Anyway, here's our building." The seminar room was located in a modern block on the other side of the green. The doors opened automatically and we walked inside. Room thirty was located on the second floor and I found myself panting as he reached the top of the stairs.

Arriving sweating and panting, not the best image to present to my new crush.

Lachlan was already waiting inside. We hovered by the door but he beckoned for us to come in. "Don't be shy, I don't bite," Lachlan chuckled. "Hard," Hudson whispered in my ear, causing me to aim a swat at his snoot.

His laugh, it's adorable.

We all walked in and sat at the front. I immediately noticed that Lachlan had changed out of his motorcycle leathers in-between the seminars. The Fox was now wearing black jeans and a short sleeved pale blue button up shirt. The material of the shirt was thin and I could see his toned chest beneath it. His arms were just as muscular as I imagined they would be, yet the way he spoke and gestured came across as regal rather than too macho for my taste. I looked at his arms and felt like I wanted to be held by them.

Imagine us laying together, stroking and holding each other. About to kiss...

My daydream was brought to an end with an elbow in the ribs. "Uh, what?" I said, feeling startled. Both Hudson and Charlotte were looking at me. I turned to see Lachlan gazing at me with his amber eyes. "Oh, pardon?" I said, correcting myself. "I was asking if you'd had a good summer before term started?" he asked, with something close an amused smile on his muzzle. "Oh, sorry I was miles away," I said, feeling my ears burn again and my tail droop between my legs. "I had a good summer though." Lachlan was about to reply when the other students filed into the classroom. "Okay everyone, let's get the reading out," Lachlan said, his tone becoming more business-like. "Now, the reading wasn't too long, just something to introduce you to the course." Lachlan's voice flowed through my ears like music as he discussed the reading. The class were made to debate on it in small groups and I partnered myself with Hudson and Charlotte.

I didn't focus much on the discussion, but instead watched Lachlan pace up and down the room. The white tip of his orange tail was almost hypnotic as it swayed about gently. "Okay, what did everyone pick out from the reading?" he asked. Everyone began discussing what they had discovered, but I fixed my eyes on Lachlan's crotch. I wondered if I could make out the outline of the Fox's sheath through the material of his jeans. "Excellent, it all seems that you've picked up on this course pretty quickly," Lachlan said. "That's the end for today, but I'll put the slides from the lecture up on the learning space for you all to read." Everyone stood and began making for the door, but I hung back as I waited for Charlotte to gather her stuff. I was sure she was doing it slowly to give me a chance to talk to the Fox. A shadow fell across us and I looked up to see Lachlan fixing me a warm smile. "I hope that wasn't too much, it'll get more interesting as the course progresses," he said. "Oh, I enjoyed today," I replied, smiling back and trying not to make it obvious that I was gazing at him lovingly. "I'm glad to hear that, it's a good sign when students don't fall asleep in my classes," Lachlan chuckled. "You're Malcolm Ritchie, the student who had to start a little late?" "I am," I replied, wondering how he knew this. The military history class was fairly big and it was the first time he had taught us. I didn't think of lecturers as people who sought personal connections with students. "Anyway, I'd better not keep you. I imagine you have more classes or something more fun to do than chat to boring history professors, have a good day," Lachlan said with a smile. "You're not boring," I replied, before feeling embarrassed again. "And you have a good day too Mr Ross." "You don't have to call me Mr Ross, Malcolm, plain Lachlan is fine. You're not at high school anymore," he replied with a warm chuckle before gathering his papers.

I felt my heart beating hard in my chest as we left the room. In truth, I didn't have any other classes that day, but I was grinning ear to ear at Lachlan's have a good day comment. "You could have not made it any more obvious you have the hots for him," Hudson laughed. "Really?" I replied. "You were gazing at him with your tongue practically hanging out of your mouth," Charlotte added as we reached the stairs. "And you were off in your head again when he asked you how your summer was," Hudson said. "Asked me?" I repeated. "I thought he asked the three of us how summer was?" "No, I'm pretty sure he was just asking you," Hudson insisted. "Don't you think Charlotte?" "I think so too, he was looking at you when he asked it, like he was quite interested," the Vixen nodded. "And you were staring at his crotch like you were hypnotised by it." "He was, although to be fair I reckon he was a thick monster inside those jeans," Hudson grinned, prompting an eye roll from Charlotte.

We reached the main entrance and walked out into the sunshine. "I hope he didn't find it creepy if I just stared at him," I said, glancing nervously over my shoulder. "Eh, probably used to it," Hudson reasoned. "And I just wish he was a classmate, not a lecturer," I sighed. "Okay, forgive me for stating the obvious, but why don't you two date?" Charlotte asked. I opened my mouth and wondered how to answer the question. In truth, Hudson and I had pawed each other off in his dorm, traded a couple of blowjobs and kissed once. The Jindo was a great friend, but I couldn't see us in a relationship. Luckily, he came to the rescue with a better analogy. "I love Malc, but in the same way Van Halen loves Enya, but they're unlikely to do a song together," he said. "I think I see what you mean," Charlotte replied. "I didn't know Van Halen loves Enya," I said, still feeling distracted by thoughts of Lachlan. "It was an example you silly Shep," Hudson sighed. "Anyway, can I ask a favour? I wanted to pick up some groceries." "Yes, you can have a lift into town," I cut in. Being one of the few students on campus with a car could have made me very popular for that single reason, so it was why I preferred to keep that fact to myself. "Awesome, thanks," Hudson grinned. "I'd better head home too," Charlotte said. "See you two tomorrow." Hudson and I waved as Charlotte walked to where she had left her bike.

I began walking to the campus entrance with Hudson beside me. "I'm still worried in case Lachlan thought I was blatantly perving on him," I admitted. "Thought?" Hudson repeated. "It was kinda obvious." "I know, that's what makes me worried." "Don't sweat it, as I say he's probably used to it. There's not much in the way of eye candy in the history faculty," Hudson shrugged. "And he did seem kinda interested in you." "Do you think?" I asked. "Yup, there were times he spoke only to you," the Jindo said. "And his smile seemed pretty friendly." "Fantastic," I grinned. "Look, dude, I've done a lot of stuff in my life I look back on and find stupid," Hudson began. "Back on? You're younger than me, our lives have just begun," I laughed. "What I'm trying to say is, just be careful," Hudson said. "I know, I will be. But imagine if I could ask Lachlan on a date," I said dreamily, picturing Lachlan and I having a picnic on a beach. "That's what I mean," came Hudson's voice from somewhere. I was too happy to care.

I don't know how, but I want to ask Lachlan out somehow.
