Astar has been located, and the crew of the Red Comet must go to release him.

The newly dubbed Red Comet dashed through the void en route toward an old space station. As soon as it showed up, the person at navigation said, "We're coming up on the place."

On closer observation, they could see countless Coyan space pods circling the place. "Huh, looks like it's crawling the the bastards."

"Alright, time to see what we're made of," stated James in the captain's chair. Emily gulped and croaked, "Oh why did I join this?"

James shrugged and said, "To meet your older brother?"

"Not that the Coyan!"

"Oh, that. We've got a bigger ship than those pods."

"Eh, yeah, but does it have weapons?"

"Let's see about that!"

He leaned forward and pressed a button he never pressed yet. Immediately, a massive laser fired at the Coyan fleet. James heard Emily shout a four letter word, and he looked a at her and asked, "Where'd you hear that?"

"You, Takeo, Tacit."

James cleared his throat and continued firing. As he did, he guided the ship closer to the station. When he saw the dock pulling in, he aimed his lasers at the door to forcefully open it. As he came closer, he slowed the ship to a stop inside and pounded the button to initiate docking protocol. He jumped from his seat and barked, "Let's move!"

He grabbed a rifle and bolted down to the airlock as everyone else ran around arming themselves. The door opened when he came within two feet, and he saw Coyans and immediately opened fire. Between volleys, he stepped down from the door until the mob was down, and he was on the dock. Emily shot the last one, and James beckoned to her before jogging to a door.

He shot the dial, and the door opened to reveal some more Coyans. As they raised their guns, they both opened fire. The bullets and lasers from the Scales were the first to connect. One by one, Coyans dropped until the whole platoon was down. Then, both of them proceeded into a hall on the other side of the room. "See anything?"

"Not yet."

They came to a stop when they came across a crossroad. "Now where do we go?"

"I'm not sure."

James looked left, then right. Both of them revealed nothing due to the corners at the ends. James shut his eyes, turned and took a step forward. He opened them and looked back from the right hallway. He took several more steps forward and rounded the corner.

He raised his gun when he saw more Coyans and opened fire while their backs were turned. As soon as the gunfire started, the Coyans ran. Emily ran after them while James shot another door and proceeded to another room. "Astar, you here?"

No response. James ventured across the room to another door. "Is anyone here?"

Still no answer apart from the droning of the machinery. "Where is he?"

James threw up his arms and said, "I have no clue, I've never been here before."

He looked over his shoulder to make sure they were alone and said, "See if you can find a silver dragon, alright?"

"I will!"

With that, James went into another hallway. There, he came across many more doors. He looked through the window of one to find nothing, then moved on to the next. There, he found a figure lying on a bed. When he knocked, the figure stood up revealing itself as a Kerati. "Hey, can you hear me," asked James.

He made eye contact with the Kerati and shot the dial. Emily came over to him and asked, "What's that?"

"I have no idea."

"Get closer!"

James opened the door with both hands and came face to face with the Kerati. He could see the bearlike claws on the hands and feet, the tail with a spike at the end swishing back and forth between its legs. "Were you a prisoner here?"

The Kerati nodded and James followed up with, "Did you see a silver reptile with wings?"

The Kerati shook their head, and James turned to Emily and said, "Must've came after he was taken."

"Most likely."

"We can get you out of here," he said to the Kerati. That was when it spoke. "Let us not waste time."

"So, you speak English?"

"What is this English?"

James stepped back, and the Kerati emerged from the cell and popped their knuckles. Then, the Kerati led James through the hall, and they both stopped when they came across some more Coyans. When James raised his gun, however, the Kerati dashed towards them and pounced on one. They stood up, took another by the shoulder and kneed them in the crotch.

The Kerati spun around and bashed two heads together. James lowered his gun and gawked at the scene transpiring. Soon, the entire platoon was down on the floor. The Kerati looked at the two Scales and asked, "What are you looking at?"

"You-"

"Yes, I took them down."

"How?"

"I trained."

"How?"

"How do you think, laggard?"

"And what's a laggard?"

"Oh, never mind. Let us find your lizard."

James pointed, and all three of them proceeded into the next room. "Astar," called James. "You in here?"

James marched away from Emily and the Kerati and knocked on a door. "Astar? Astar?"

When he stopped speaking for a moment, he heard a faint grunt from a familiar voice. He followed the sound and walked into a door, the window of which revealed the silver dragon Astar, his son. He immediately shot the dial, threw the door open and approached him. As soon as they made eye contact, Astar sat up, and they embraced each other. Tears soaked in James' fur and he held his breath. However, the moment was cut short when he felt a hand grab him by the shoulder and yank him away. He turned around only to take a fist to the nose from a Coyan. They drew a pistol and said, "You may have been able to take down half of my crew, but this is where it ends."

In a split second, James waved his arm right as the captain fired so that the bullet hit his elbow pad. "Not bad for a bitch," said the captain. Suddenly, the captain felt a mouth slide over his wholes head. In response, he pointed his gun up and got ready to pull the trigger. However, he missed when James kicked him in the stomach.Emily stabbed through him with her clawed foot, and while he screamed into her mouth, James shot him in the chest.

Emily spit him out, and James said, "Let's go!"

As Emily left, James took Astar by the arm and went after her. Twist after turn followed for several minutes before they arrived at the ship. Once or twice, James thought he could hear footsteps behind them. Once they reached the ship, he pushed Astar inside and pounded on the button to shut the door. "To the bridge!"

While Emily ran to the bridge, James stayed to help Astar up and assisted him in walking, since his leg had been broken during confinement. "How do I fly this?"

"I'll be right over," called James. "Until then, Tacit, keep the seat warm!"

"On it!"

Along the way, James pushed Astar's broken leg bone straight, which caused quite some discomfort. Once at the bridge, James led Astar to a chair and took the captain's seat after Tacit jumped off. He pressed some buttons and said, "Initiating launch sequence!"

The lights turned on, and the engine hummed. "Disengaging landing gear, fasten your seatbelts!"

One by one, everyone buckled themselves in. It was when James fastened his own seatbelt that the ship bolted from the station dock. Lasers whizzed past, then Coyan pods. James turned up the speed as they banked in front of him. The pods shattered against the force of the head of the speeding ship, and James said, "Remind me to arm this thing."

"Can do!"

"Tacit, how close are we to Dracosith?"

"Two lightyears."

"Then, full speed ahead."

Emily dug her claws into the arms of her seat and croaked, "Please don't kill me!"

"You won't die."

"You sure of that? Tell that to the space whale!"

"The what?"

He followed her finger, and there for sure was a whale coming their direction*. He turned the ship away from the whale. "We're not getting eaten on my watch!"

"I hope so!"

Then, all of a sudden, the stars seemed to become noodles, and they all could feel pressure. James' cheeks started flopping backwards. After what felt like an hour, the pressure left, and they were thrown forward. James heard Emily howling, turned to her and asked, "You alright over there?"

"Yes! That hurt!"

"It always does the first time around."

"How do You know?"

"I was in that position the first time. And, there she is," he said while pointing at the planet.

* * * * *

"Snapped leg, black eye, missing teeth," said James to the nurse while Astar was on a gurney. "How," asked Emily.

"I don't want to know."

"Well, I do."

"We can ask him later. For now, let's let the doctors take it from here."

"Yes, yes."

With that, both James and Emily left the hospital. James went to one of the empty bunkers where some Dracosith armed flamethrowers near a sheet of rubber stretched out on a rack. But, this was no ordinary rubber, and James had plans for it. He stood behind the Dracosith as they lifted their flamethrowers and aimed at the rubber. "Fire!"

A blaze assaulted the sheet of rubber for a minute before James shouted, "Alright, that'll do."

"What is it?" Emily asked, having accompanied him.

"Rubber that's supposed to be resistant to fire and liquid nitrogen. Speaking of which, get that nitrogen ready."

While the Dracosith switched their guns, James went to the sheet and felt it. It was hot to the touch, but when he looked at his hand, he saw no runoff rubber. He backed away from the sheet as the Dracosith lifted their liquid nitrogen guns and barked, "Fire!"

Four streams of liquid nitrogen sprayed over the sheet before James raised a hand and stepped forward. After the Dracosith stopped firing, he took the sheet down and whipped it as if it were a dirty rug. It flopped up and down as he did, and he looked at the Dracosith with a grin and said, "Let's get a ton of this!"

"Yes father. What are you going to do with it?"

"Use it for space suits."

"Oh yeah, those!"

"Now, we'll just need some plastic and a good craftsman. First, let's check on Astar."

James turned to the Dracosith and said, "Dismissed," before leaving the bunker with Emily and heading towards the hospital. Together, they went inside, and James said to the receptionist, "We'd like to know how Astar Scale is doing."

"Stable."

"Good, how long should it take for him to recover?"

"Three months."

James sighed and looked at Emily. "Three months," he repeated.

"Great, just great."

"Well, you know what we could do until then? If not, I can think of one or two things."

"And that is?"

"Schooling, preparing the ship."

"Agh! How about the ship?"

"Why not."
