Usually stories like this start out with "Once upon a time" or something or other, but not this one. This story starts off with a young pup, specifically named Darnel. Now Darnel happened to be the youngest of five. He was the same age as his two triplet brothers though. At the age of fifteen, almost sixteen, his life didn't seem to be going anywhere. Now Darnel's two other brothers who shared the same looks as him were named Andrei and Mikhail. Mikhail was born the fist, Andrei pulled out second, and Darnel being the last in order of birth. The two oldest siblings, Sariah and Boril II, were a couple of years apart, Sariah being the oldest.

Darnel was a scrawny pup; he had never been very big. When he was born he weighed an unhealthy two pounds, unlike his brothers who weighed a healthy five pounds. Darnel's mother, Michela, was pretty...uncaring for a mother. His father, Boril I, was abusive. Nearly everyday Boril would come home and beat on Darnel. His brother's were no help. They would pick on him and call him names like "The Unwanted Pup" and other cruel things. Darnel would try and stand up for himself by threatening to go to the police, but they just abused him more. His sister was lazy, often too entranced by the television to help her poor brother.

Malnourished and starving, Darnel was usually left out in the backyard with a plate of stale bread and a dirty glass of unfiltered water. Unlike his brothers, Darnel's fur was unkempt, filthy and clotted up with mud and blood and other substances. Under all of the grime, a pure white coat of fur was beginning to layer. His bed was a simple piece of cloth that lay on top of a pile of hay underneath the porch. Darnel bathed about once every month, unless they got more rain. Even though he was dirty on the outside, if you looked past the grime and the gunk in his fur, you would see the softest eyes in the world. When you looked into his face, a set of astonishingly brilliant blue eyes looked back.

Every night Darnel would pray to the heavens, hoping someday that his guardian angel would come and save him from the living hell he was enduring. Every night he would compose a different prayer, often wishing for friends, someone who would actually care for him. What he wasn't expecting was for his prayers to be answered so soon.

One night everything had gone as it normally would have, with one major exception. That night was Darnel's sixteenth birthday. His father came home with a gigantic cake. Darnel eagerly looked through the window at the large dessert, hoping that he would get a piece. His father caught Darnel's glance and shut the blinds with a frown. Darnel sat down, a gentle tear caressing his cheek. He could hear the conversation going on inside.

"Okay boys," the gruff voice of his father broke out. "Now it's your sixteenth birthday. I expect you to be responsible adults now."

"Yes daddy." He heard his brothers respond.

"So I'm going to initiate your manhood by giving you these." Darnel could hear small clinking noises of metal keys on a key ring. The noise brought up bad memories, but he blocked them out.

"Wow!" His brothers screamed, whooped and hollered at the moment of getting their new cars.

"Now, who wants cake?" Michela spoke out.

"I do!" All the voices in the house broke out. Darnel crossed his fingers and prayed that his sister would speak out.

"What about Darnel?" The soft voice of his sister broke out.

"What about him?" His father spoke.

"Doesn't he get any cake? We have plenty to go around."

"And, your point is?"

"Never mind." At the sound of this Darnel's heart broke. He silently crawled under the porch and cried himself to sleep.

"Darnel!" The silent, but explosive whisper broke his dreams about a happy home. "Darnel! Hurry!" Darnel got up and quietly wandered over to the door. Through the dim light of the moon, his sister's chubby head poked through the door. He cautiously padded over to the door as it opened a little bit more and a small plastic container was placed into his hands. He was greeted with a "Happy Birthday" and was sent off back to bed.

Darnel eagerly opened the container, and was surprised to see a rather large piece of cake and a folded up piece of paper. He opened up the paper and read the words out in his mind.

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday dear Darnel,

Happy Birthday to you.

Silent tears fell from his eyes, and he ate his cake, enjoying every bit of it. Looking back down at the paper he read the lyrics to himself, quietly singing them in his head. He kept reading them, but suddenly noticed he forgot to unfold the note all the way. His eyes searched the paper, and suddenly turned frantic.

Dear brother, Happy Birthday. How does it feel to be 16? Pretty good eh? Do you know what I got you for your birthday? How does freedom sound? Tonight I'm finally gaining up the courage to get you out of here. I've already called the police and told them about what mom and dad do to you. You're finally going to get outta here. I'm sorry for not doing this sooner. I hope you have a wonderful sweet 16.

-Sariah-

No sooner than he read this, he heard the crashing of front door being kicked down. The startled scream of his mother shattered the night air, along with the sound of his father falling out of bed. Darnel crept into the corner under the porch, hidden from the world as he listened to frantic steps, slamming doors, and the sound of people getting arrested. He heard the back door swing open and saw the beams of flashlights shining around in the dark.

"Hello?" An unknown voice spoke out. "Hello?" Darnel quietly crept out of his hiding place, but he still kept himself under the porch. He could see the lower body portion of the person out in the night. It was a male, judging by his voice. He couldn't tell what species, because he had never seen anyone other than a wolf. Darnel whimpered, and the figure turned and kneeled down. A bright light shone into Darnel's eyes, and he folded his ears back.

"Jesus Christ, hey guys!" The figure called out. "We need a medic here pronto!" Suddenly another figure came out into the darkness from the house. It was a female this time. She was a wolf as well, and she had a blanket and a medical kit. The man took the blanket, unfolded it, and held it out. "Here, come on," He said gently. "I'm not gonna hurt you, come on."

Darnel reluctantly came forward into the man's arms. The man was strange looking, not anywhere in the canine family. Darnel decided the man was probably an otter from what he was told about otters. The man wrapped the blanket around Darnel and held onto him tightly. They stood up and headed inside the house. Darnel looked around. On the couch was his whole family. His brothers, father, mother, and even sister were all in handcuffs.

"Who is that?" Asked his father, trying to put on an act. Everyone else followed, except Sariah.

"Yeah, who is he?" asked his mother.

"He's our brother!" Shouted Sariah to her brothers, "And your son!" To her father and mother.

"He's no son of mine!" Shouted Michela.

"That's funny, cause he looks a whole lot like those two." Said a police officer pointing over at Andrei and Mikhail. "Are you related to these people?" The police officer turned to Darnel. Darnel just looked down at his feet.

"It's okay, you can say it." Said the man who was holding Darnel.

Darnel shut his eyes tight and stuttered out his first word in a year. "Yes." He braced himself ready for the sting of a hand slapping his face, but it never came.

"Why you little shit!" Shouted out his father.

"That's enough!" Screamed the man holding Darnel. "Take 'em away!" A police officer came and escorted out the whole family into a car.

"Do you know where they're going?" Asked a police officer. Darnel shook his head. They're going away for a long time."

"My sister's innocent." Whispered Darnel.

"We'll work everything out, but right now we need to get you cleaned up."

They took Darnel to the hospital, and signed him into a room. The officer who had saved him was there in the room with him.

"Here is a towel and some clean clothes, can you go into that room and clean yourself up?" The officer placed some things onto a table and pointed over to a doorway. "Can you clean yourself?"

Darnel shook his head and looked away. "No."

"It's okay, I'll help." He led Darnel into the bathroom and helped him take off his clothing. They got into the shower and started up the water. Darnel shut his eyes as warm water jetted onto his fur. The officer wrapped his arms around Darnel and started to lather up a thick soap into their fur. Darnel rested back into the man's arms as the refreshing soap cleaned his fur, the gentle hands caressing every curve of his body. Suddenly something poked down under his tail. The officer tried to act like nothing was happening, but Darnel knew what was going on. He smiled to himself and he started to gently push back. The officer tried to keep it from happening, but soon he was inside of Darnel. The soap had been long forgotten, now Darnel was being taken for the first time, with an officer of the law who he didn't even know his name.

"How old are you?" Asked the officer, softly humping Darnels tight behind.

"Sixteen, and you?" Darnel panted.

"Nineteen." Heaved the cop, now humping more furiously.

Darnel spread his legs wider and placed his forearms on the tile wall of the shower, giving his partner more access to his body. Darnel's erect wolfhood wasn't left alone, soon a hand wrapped around it and started to stroke it in unison to his furious humps. Darnel, being inexperienced as he was, came quickly. The officer reached his climax as the tight hole spasmed around his rock hard cock. He grabbed Darnel's hips and thrust heavily into the hole as his climax was reached. The head of his cock exploded, and his seed filled Darnel's insides. They stood there panting for a while before the officer pulled his still dripping cock from inside Darnel. Darnel sighed as soap began to lather into his fur again.

"I'm Darnel."

"Roreck." Said the officer. Darnel leaned back into a warm embrace, water still raining down upon them.

"Ok, I'm going to need you to take off all of your clothes." A calico doctor with a camera said.

"Why?" Asked Darnel, getting a little afraid.

"Well, this camera," she said holding up the camera. "This camera will show me all of your bruises."

"Where's Roreck?"

"He's out in the hallway, do you want him to come in here?" She asked him. Darnel nodded his head and the doctor walked to the door. She opened it a little bit and poked her head outside. "Can we get officer Roreck in here?"

"Is something wrong Doctor Covingston?" An unknown person said.

"No, he's just uncomfortable. Could you send in officer Young?"

"We'll send him in."

"Okay," she shut the door and walked back over to Darnel. "He'll be in in just a minute, but I'm going to need you to take off your clothes okay?"

Darnel removed his shirt then along with his jeans. He was left standing there in his briefs. The door opened and Roreck entered. He shut the door behind himself and sat down in a chair next to the door.

"Umm, all of your clothes." The woman stated, and Darnel whimpered. He slowly slid off his underwear and kicked them to the side alongside the rest of his clothing. The doctor smiled to herself and started to take pictures of sections of his body. She took snapshots of both sides of his head, the front and back of his torso, each leg, each arm, and even pictures of his genitals. She walked over to a small computer on one side of the room and plugged in the camera. A screen popped up, along with all of the pictures of Darnel.

"You can put your clothes back on." She said. Darnel did so and walked up to the computer as well as Roreck. There was the screenshot of Darnel's face, an exact representation, with one exception. A large purple mark seemed to be embedded on his left and right cheeks. "You see that?" She asked. "That is a bruise."

"Oh my god," Roreck murmured as they flipped through pictures, each one showing tremendous bruising. Then they got to the picture of Darnel's tailhole. When they saw it the fur on Darnel's tail bushed up. He fell back into Roreck's arms, Roreck embracing him heavily.

"Dear god!" Shouted the doctor. "Were you raped?" On the picture, Darnel's tailhole was a dark purple, darker than any of the other pictures.

"No," Darnel cried. The doctor looked up at the terrified Darnel. She saw the way the officer was holding him; the way Darnel hid himself using the officer's arms.

"Wait, did you two...you know?" She said to Darnel and Roreck, moving her finger back and forth in between them. They reluctantly nodded their heads. "Well, we don't need this picture then." She clicked the delete button and the picture close out. Darnel and Roreck breathed a sigh of relief.

The doctor printed off all of the pictures and led them outside the room. Another police officer, a panther, was positioned in a chair just outside the door.

"Well, is it bad?" He asked.

"He's pretty bruised up, but other than that, just malnourished." She showed the officer the pictures.

"Wow, this is pretty bad." The officer turned to Roreck and Darnel, Darnel trying to hide himself behind Roreck. "Are you hungry?"

Darnel quietly nodded his head, softly murmuring a, "Yes."

"Well then," the officer said standing up all the way. "Let's go get you some food." He turned and beckoned Darnel to follow him. Darnel didn't budge; instead he planted himself firmly behind Roreck.

"I'll go with him Sergeant Connery," Roreck blurted out. "I think he's more comfortable with me, and I could use some food also." When Roreck said this his stomach growled loudly.

"Well, just make sure he eats," the officer said, sitting back down.

"Come on," Roreck put his arm around the shaking Darnel and led him down the hallway.

"Now what am I going to do for dinner?" Sergeant Connery asked.

"I get off work in five minutes," said the doctor with a smirk on her face.

"I guess you were hungry." Roreck laughed as Darnel inhaled his eighth piece of pepperoni pizza.

"It's been a while since I had pizza." Darnel said as he gulped down a large glass of Coke. A large mouthful caught in his throat and he went into a coughing fit.

"Whoa, whoa, try and make sure it goes down the right pipe," Roreck said and he stood up and patted Darnel on the back.

"Thanks," Darnel said and he continued to shovel pizza into his mouth. "Umm...where am I going to stay the night?"

"Oh, I'm not too sure." Roreck took a sip of his cup of coffee. "I can see if you can stay at my place, if you want."

"I'd like that."

"So, how'd you end up as a cop?" Renee Covingston asked Joseph Connery as they sat down at their table at IHOP.

"Well, my dad was a cop, same as his father, and the one before that, and so on." Joseph boasted as he looked at the menu. "It's basically a family tradition. So, why are you a doctor, if we're asking things like that."

"Oh, ever since I was a kitten I've always been interested in anatomy. I remember playing doctor with my brothers and sisters."

"Interesting." Joseph really didn't know what to say.

"What can I get you folks?" The waitress, who had just stepped up to the table, asked. She was a young skunk girl, no older than 16, and had a slight southern twang in her voice.

"I'll have the breakfast platter and a cup of decaf." Joseph said and the waitress turned to Renee.

"I'll have the chocolate chip pancakes and a cup of decaf with cream and sugar. Lots of sugar please."

"Okay, your orders will be out shortly." The waitress took their menus and turned to the kitchen, walking off.

"Wow, you sure like your sweets," Joseph laughed.

"Well thank god I'm not an dentist." Renee said laughing quietly. "So how are you going to handle this case?" She looked at Joseph, staring him in the eyes and smiling.

"Well, I think that Roreck might handle this." Joseph stared into his glass of water. "Roreck and that boy are sure acting weird don't you think?"

"You could say that," Renee said as she giggled to herself.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Joseph looked up and stared questioningly at Renee.

"Can't you see the way they look at each other?" Renee twirled her fork around on the table.

"Here's your coffee," The waitress placed two pots of coffee on the table and poured fresh coffee into their cups. She walked off and Renee picked up her cup.

"Like the way you look at me?" Sergeant Connery took a sip of his cup of coffee.

"Or the way you look at me? Yeah."

"Really? Do you think its conflict of interest?"

"No, Roreck's his bodyguard, not his lawyer." Renee drank some of her coffee.

The waitress approached the table again with two large plates in her hands. One was piled high with pancakes and whipped cream, the other with meats, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. She set them down in front of them and said, "Enjoy your dinner, or breakfast, or whatever," before walking off.

"So, should we interfere?" Joseph picked at his food. Renee looked up questioningly with a fork full of pancake stopped halfway.

"Interfere with what?"

"You know, their little relationship."

'Oh," Renee cleaned of her fork in one bite. "I don't see any harm in letting it continue."

"Same here." Joseph ate some of his food. He looked up at Renee. She had a bit of whipped cream on her left whiskers. He laughed to himself and said, "You have some whipped cream on your face."

"Oh, where?" Renee snatched up a napkin and wiped at her face, missing the mess.

"Your left whiskers." Joseph laughed as Renee went after her right whiskers.

"Is it gone?" She asked desperately.

"I said left whiskers," Joseph grabbed a napkin and leaned over the table and wiped off her whiskers. "There, it's gone."

"Thanks," Renee said, blushing slightly.

"You're welcome," Joseph sat back in his chair. The waitress walked back up to the table and set down a piece of paper.

"Here's your check, pay when you're ready," she said before walking off. Joseph reached out his hand for the check, but it was met with Renee's hand before it got to the check. He smiled to himself and leaned over the table again. Slowly he leaned in to kiss Renee. Renee leaned in to the kiss, and their lips met. Suddenly Joseph's walkie-talkie broke out. He broke the kiss and grabbed it off of his belt.

"Sorry," He said, and he held the walkie-talkie up to his mouth and pressed a button. "This is Sergeant Connery."

"Sergeant Connery, this is Officer Young."

"Ah, Roreck we were just talking about you." Joseph smiled along with Renee.

"Really?" Roreck looked at Darnel confused. "What about?"

"Oh, nothing," Joseph's voice spoke. "So, what'd you want?"

"Umm, I was wondering where Darnel was staying tonight."

"Well, I think he should stay with you," Joseph said. Darnel and Roreck let out a silent cheer. "Other than that he's gonna have to stay at the station."

"Umm, he'll stay at my place." Roreck said.

"Okay, just be careful," said Joseph. "Connery out."

"Why do you have to say that?" Roreck laughed. Darnel giggled along.

"Alright, alright, you two have fun."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You know what he's talking about," an unfamiliar voice to Roreck spoke out.

"Who was that?" Darnel perked up his ears.

"No one, I'll just see you guys later." Joseph said. Darnel and Roreck could hear snickering in the background.

"Alright, whatever. Out."
