Obedience School

a young man finds his life changing, and decides its for the better.

It seems like a bad dream, but here I am. Sitting here totally naked except for a dog collar at obedience school. My Boyfriend sits next to me holding my leash as if this was all perfectly normal. None of the other owners even bat an eye as I am made to perform various tricks along with the other dogs in the class. It feels so strange to me, yet natural at the same time. As the class continued it began to feel more and more natural to me, and by the end of class, I was performing the tricks as if they were second nature.

How does one end up in a situation like this you may be asking? I'm not really sure myself. The day had started just like any other. I woke up late, and wondered into the bathroom and took care of my morning routine. Returning to my bedroom, I grabbed a pair of boxer briefs and slid them on, then found a pair of red sweatpants and an Ironman t-shirt that didn't smell too dirty and put them on.

I grabbed a quick breakfast of cereal (lucky charms if you must know) and donuts and looked at myself in the hall mirror. My Blond hair was getting long, and with its natural curl was a mess. It hung down almost to my shoulders in the back, and covered my ears and almost reached my blue eyes. I keep meaning to get it cut, but I never seem to have the time or the money. Besides, I kind of liked the way it looked.

Slipping on my shoes and socks, I made my way out of the house. I was supposed to have been at my boyfriends house half an hour ago, so I took a shortcut through an abandoned property to save time.

There used to be a large house on the land, but it had been condemned by the county and torn down years ago. Now it was just an overgrown lot that most of the kids used it as a short cut, and there were several well-trod paths amongst the overgrowth.

I don't know why, but it always seemed darker and colder there, even in the middle of the day, and I always felt a little uneasy walking through it, but I figured it was just my imagination. Stories about the people that owned the house were rampant, and most of them portrayed them as some kind of evil cultists, but they were just your average family, and I don't remember anything bad ever happening there. The power of suggestion is amazing.

Still, I was glad when I emerged on the other side of the property unscathed. The street Kevin, my boyfriend, lived on was just around the corner. The shortcut saved me at least 20 min walking around. Kevin was sitting on his porch waiting for me when I walked up. He looked at his watch and shook his head. I was always late, but usually later than this, so I joked that this was the earliest I had ever been late, and so was really early.

We made our way to the mall to pick up the things we would need for our upcoming school term. We passed by the local obedience school, and I practically had to drag Kevin away as he was watching the people go in and out with various large and small dogs in tow. He had always loved animals and had a special spot in his heart for dogs. We had talked about getting one when we moved in together, and he always seemed to be obsessed with them.

The mall wasn't very crowded on this time on a weekday, and we were easily able to pick up all the things we needed in just an hour or two. We decided to stop by the food court and have lunch before heading home. I stopped in the Panda Express and got some of their orange chicken and a soda, and Kevin got himself a meatball sub with an iced tea. We talked about what we had planned for the rest of the semester break, and what classes we would be taking, you know, general chit chat.

Once we were finished, we tossed out our trash and started walking out of the mall. As we neared the exit, we felt strangely compelled to enter the pet store. We wondered about for a few minuets, and found ourselves in the Dog section. Without understanding exactly why, Kevin picked out a nice collar, and leash set. At the register, he bought a dog tag from one of those automated machines, and had my name engraved on it.

On the way home, I asked him what made him buy the leash and collar, but he wouldn't give me a straight answer. He danced around the subject, and I am not sure he even knew why he bought them.

After dropping our purchases in his living room, we proceeded to his bedroom to play video games for a while. After finishing off a particularly difficult level, something came over Kevin, and he suggested I try on the collar. I had never had any interested in that kind of thing, but I found myself agreeing. He slipped the collar around my neck and fastened it in place.

Once the collar was fastened, I shuddered and felt something come over my body. I immediately felt the need to remove my clothing. I stripped as quickly as I could, and dropped to all fours panting. Kevin started patting my head and calling me a good boy.

After petting me for a few minuets, Kevin hooked the leash to my collar, and began to lead me outside for a walk. I wanted to resist, but something compelled me to go with him. Strangely, it felt natural to walking with him on all fours, and as we walked through the neighborhood, I felt more and more comfortable in my position as his pet. I found it strange that no one seemed to notice that I was out in public naked, and I didn't even get a second glance.

After a few minuets walk, we found ourselves in front of the obedience school. Kevin led me inside, telling me that I need to learn some new tricks. A new class was about to begin, and Kevin signed us up. We were led into a large room with about 6 other people with their dogs.

The trainer came in a few minuets later, and introduced himself. He spent a few minuets going over what the class would be about, then we got into the teaching. I was chosen as the first subject to demonstrate, and was led into the middle of the room. I was embarrassed to be paraded around naked in front of all these people, but everyone seemed to see me as nothing more than a dog. The trainer put me through my paces, correcting me each time I didn't move fast enough for him. As the lesson went on, I fell more and more into the mindset of a dog, and started performing the tricks as if I had been doing them all my life.

Once Kevin had my leash back, we worked together for a few minuets and were soon the top students in the class. The instructor used us to show the others how it was done. By the end of the class I was starting to forget that I was really a human, and was responding to Kevin's commands without thinking about them.

After the instructor gave us some last minuet tips and gave us the time for next week's class, Kevin and I walked home. It seemed totally natural to me, and I was enjoying the freedom of being an animal, and sniffing around at all the things I usually ignored as a man.

When we got home, Kevin took me around to the back yard to relieve myself, which I felt fairly self conscious about doing, but was finally able to do. When I was let back into the house, I made my way into Kevin's bedroom to find him playing videogames again. I looked around for the clothes I had discarded earlier, but couldn't find any signs of them. I went back into the living room, and found the packages I had purchased this morning missing.

I made my way back to the bedroom to try and tell Kevin that something was wrong, but all that came out were barks. I could still see the words, and think them, but couldn't articulate them.

Kevin told me to quiet down and patted me on the head, and started to pet me. It sent a wave of calmness through my body and I started to forget what I had been so concerned about. I started to slip into a mindless content state, and opened my mouth and started panting. My subconscious mind started screaming that this was wrong, but the pleasure I was feeling from him petting me was too much to resist.

The next thing I knew, I was in the kitchen. I had my face planted in a bowl of dog food, happily gobbling it down. As I finished the bowl, I looked around and realized several hours had passed since I was in the bedroom. I knew I should be very concerned about this, but I couldn't find it in myself. I curled up at Kevin's feet hoping he would throw me some scraps from his dinner.

After dinner, we went into the living room, and spent the rest of the evening watching TV, with Kevin idly stroking my body. I felt more content than I ever had before. I was disappointed when he got up to go to bed, and followed him back to his bedroom.

I wanted to sleep on the bed with him, but he wouldn't let me. I finally ended up finding a clear area at the foot of the bed and falling asleep.

As I awoke the next morning, I thought the last day had all been a dream. I tried to stand up, but could only get to all fours. I looked over myself and found I was still naked. It wasn't a dream.

I looked at the clock, and found it was almost noon. I wasn't any more punctual as a dog than I had been as a human. I wanted to find some answers, so I went looking for Kevin.

Kevin was at a table in the kitchen, enjoying a late breakfast. I found a bowl of dry dog food on the floor, and couldn't resist walking over to it and eating it. Kevin walked over to me, and patted me on the head, sending waves of pleasure through me.

After I had finished eating, Kevin attached the leash to my collar, and took me outside to do my business. I found it easier today, and was quickly finished. I had expected to go back inside, but Kevin said he had a surprise for me.

He started to take me for a walk, and I was enjoying the feel of the cool air against my skin, and even considered chasing a squirrel or two. After walking for about 15 minuets, I found myself in front of a large building. When I read the name on the side I looked at Kevin, thinking you can't be serious. He had made me a vet appointment.

Kevin led me into the waiting room, and had me sit patiently while he talked to the receptionist and filled out the forms. There were a few other dogs in the room, and while I couldn't exactly talk to them, I got a pretty good idea what they were thinking. Most of them were like me- very nervous and ready to get out of there. After finishing the forms, Kevin came and sat down next to me, and began petting me, and I suddenly felt much calmer. I don't know what I was so worried about.

It was another 15 minuets or so before we were called in to see the doctor. I thought for sure the doctor would see that I wasn't really a dog, and that this was all some kind of mistake. The doctor poked and prodded me for a while, took some blood and other samples, then gave me the standard vaccinations. This was followed up with a shot containing a microchip. This had gone too far for it to be some kind of elaborate joke, and I was starting to get more and more concerned.

The vet told Kevin everything looked good, and thought I should be neutered, but Kevin wasn't ready to do that yet. I was thankful for that at least. The vet told Kevin the receptionist would give him the final paperwork. As we made our way back to the front desk to pay, Kevin looked down at me and told me I was a good dog. As usual I started to feel better on the spot knowing my human was pleased with me.

After settling the bill and getting all the paperwork taken care of, I now had several new tags on my collar- The rabies, microchip, and license tags. As far as the county was concerned I was now nothing more than a dog.

On the walk home, we passed a dog park. Kevin took me in as a treat and we spent several hours running around and playing. As I played, I could feel what was left of my humanity start slipping away. I didn't care as I was having such a good time. When we finally left and walked back home, I was panting like crazy and exhausted.

I fell asleep on the floor of the living room, and dreamt of my old life. I was in my old house and looking at the pictures hanging on the walls. What were once pictures of me as a boy growing up, were now shots more reminiscent of the kinds of pictures one would take of their beloved pet. I was always naked, and usually sitting like a dog, or engaged in dog activities with what had once been my family. Somehow they just seemed right and natural.

When I woke from my nap, there had been a not so subtle change in my thinking, and I now saw my self as a dog first and human second. All of my memories were beginning to change, memories as a boy and son being replaced with those of a dog and pet. Somehow I found that very comforting and started to feel like I belonged this way.

As I ate dinner that night, I felt completely comfortable eating out of the bowl, not even really remembering eating at the table, or using silver ware. I enjoyed spending the evening with my master Kevin, and sleeping at the foot of his bed.

The rest of the week fell into a routine, of walking and playing in the park, with Kevin taking very good care of me. By the end of the week, my behavior was indistinguishable from that of a normal dog. I had even mostly forgotten most of the human speech and words I used to know, only recognizing the typical dog commands. I put all thoughts of my old life behind me, and decided to become Kevin's pet in every way. It felt as if a weight had been lifted from me, no longer having any cares in the world.

A full week had passed, and it was again time for our obedience class. I couldn't wait to show off all the things that I had learned from Kevin. As we walked to the school, I was enjoying the day when we passed through what I could only describe as a dark cold area. Kevin didn't seem to mind, and as it was only for a second, I just thought it was my imagination and decided to ignore it.

When we arrived at the school, I was so excited I practically dragged Kevin in with me. We went into the class and I happily greeted all the other dogs there, while Kevin chatted with their owners. Once class started the instructor asked Kevin to show off what we had learned, and I was more than happy to show off. I didn't notice that my body had begun changing as I was performing. First I started growing a coat of golden hair, and my legs began to change, making it easier for me to move around on all fours.

The instructor and Kevin were very pleased with the way I had taken to the training. I was given lots of treats and praised. I was so happy to have pleased my master. I excelled on the rest of the training. By the end of class, I was worn out from all the excitement.

We stopped by the dog park and played for a while. I could feel my fur thickening, and my hands and feet started changing into paws. When we finally got home, I was exhausted and decided to nap before dinner.

This time, I dreamt of the photos again, but instead of my human self in them, was a Yellow lab. I could still tell it was me by the way the hair was curly and disheveled looking, and the eyes were unmistakable. As I moved about the house, I realized it was no longer my house I was seeing, but Kevin's. The photos of my family had changed into photos of me with him and his family.

I woke up when I heard my bowl of food being placed down on the floor. Getting up, I noticed the changes in my legs and paws were complete. I was also covered in a full coat of fur.

I ran into the kitchen and quickly ate up all my dinner. After dinner, I loved the feeling of Kevin petting my new fur. It was pure ecstasy.

On the way to bed, as we walked down the hallway, I saw some of the photos I had dreamt about, knowing they hadn't been there the day before.

I fell asleep at the foot of Kevin's bed, eager to see what awaited me tomorrow.

I awoke feeling refreshed and ready to walk. Kevin took me out and we had a good long walk. As we walked, I could feel something on the base of my spine. As we got closer to the dog park, it started poking out, and I could see I was getting my tail. As we played in the park, my tail grew and grew, and until it was a foot or so long. I was so proud of my tail that I wagged it happily all the way home.

I was beginning to feel so at home here and was very comfortable. The food was great and I slept better than I ever had before.

The next morning the routine was the same. A nice breakfast and walk, and as I played in the park I noticed that my ears were starting to get floppier, and my nose had turned black. My face pushed out into a nice muzzle. I loved all the new smells I could experience, and my longer tongue was great for keeping me cooler with my fur coat. Only one part of me remained human, and I figured that would be the next to transform. I fell asleep easily knowing that I would soon be whole.

Upon waking up in the morning I ate breakfast as quickly as I could so that we could go for the walk and my transformation could complete. I practically knocked Kevin over with excitement. He commented that he rarely saw me up this early, and we headed out for our walk. I ran as fast as I could to the park, dragging Kevin behind. I found the first stick I could, and as we played I could feel the transformation completing. I looked down to admire my new sheath and lick at it. Kevin gave me a playful swat, and threatened to have me fixed if I did that kind of thing in public.

Something in me suddenly felt right. As if some part of me I had never known about woke up. I knew that this was the way I was supposed to be. I'm still not sure how it happened. What caused me to change? Were those cold spots doorways to new realities? I may never know, but I think I am happy with the way things are, and am not interested in tempting fate in trying to figure it out.

Kevin and I spend all day playing and I love him now in a way I never could before. Sometimes I get a fleeting memory of my previous life, but it quickly fades, leaving me content. I always look forward to the obedience classes, as I am always top of the class, and love showing up the other dogs. And there is one great looking German Shepard there that I would love to get with, and I know he feels the same way.
