Untamed Love - Chapter 2
Memo: Sorry it took so long I was busy with work and .... Playing the sims3 for the joy of watching my kids burn down the kitchen ^_^ anyways on with the story .
The walk to Lost City was a quiet and awkward one. She walked quietly next to him, her eyes were glued to his ears. He could feel her eyes on him, and it made him kinda mad.
"Why do you keep staring at me?" He questioned her knowing damn well what the answer was.
"I'm tired...can we take a break?" She yawned taking a seat on a nearby rock.
"NO, for crying out loud we've only been walking for 10 minutes... you're a lazy... WE ARE NOT STOPPING!" Answered Demon, making her look at him a bit shocked.
"You're a big fluffy... mean... doggie!" she shouted walking away from him.
"What the hell...I'm not a dog, I'm a wolf...a fluffy wolf." He shouted at her proud of himself then it hit him, she tricked him, "God damn it I'm not fluffy." He mumbled catching up to her, "where is your trainer?" He asked sounding as nice as possible.
"I don't have one," chirped herry grinning.
"Why the hell not?!... I mean why not?" He asked looking at her out the corner of his eyes. He watched as her padded hips swayed about as she desperately tried to keep up with him and failed. He slowed down to match her pace for the sake of figuring out why she was this far out with a mentor.
"Well, I've never had a trainer. My grandmother taught me how to use magic and gave me a bunch of grimoires."
"You need to find a trainer before your powers go haywire and kill someone." He replied making her stop dead in her tracks.
"Mind your business wolf, I'm not helpless, I know how to control my powers just fine, I don't need you, or anybody else feeling like you have to protect me, so leave it alone!" She shouted before walking away as fast as she could, leaving him there with a blank look on his face.
Well EXCUSE me, thought demon walking at a distance behind her. He wasn't sure about the elves, but his theory about venomancers and human womans being crazy were right on the spot, he thought as he walked next to her.
"I'm sorry about earlier, I just hate it when people think I'm helpless," she mumbled.
"Its okay," he answered, after all its not like he cared .
They met the Elder at the Lost City, and to demon's surprise, he knew who she was, at least name wise and purpose. After a brief talk, the elder decided to assign Demon as Herry's homing buddy. Since there was rumor of a war brewing, each race formed alliances with each other and assigned experienced warriors with a rookie partner as a mentor and carrying out missions. Demon was asked to open his home to her while she underwent training with the venos and medical training.
He wasn't too pleased with it, but he eventually gave in to what he saw as torture. Once home, he decided to make his point that this was HIS HOUSE, HIS BED, AND HIS SPACE, nothing is changing. She is to be a silent guest, and nothing more.
"So I can't do anything but sleep and attend my training?" She asked looking at him.
"Exactly, my house is that of a warrior, not a thing to be decorated with tacky feminine stuff, be lucky your not sleeping outside in a tent," He grumbled seeing her look at him with a sad look on her face. He meant to make her feel unwelcomed, and he was going succeed, no matter what.
"Can I have sleep overs?" She asked knowing the answer before he could say it.
"HELL NO, last thing I need is a pack of women in my house acting crazy," he replied getting up from his seat and heading outside.
"Mean for no reason," mumbled Herry, heading to the bedroom. She sat down and meditated, read a book, then soon fell asleep under the covers. He peeked in and saw her sleeping. He went in grabbing a pillow and a blanket, then headed downstairs and got comfortable on the couch. There was about to be a rain storm, so he didn't see a point in going to Kazu's house to hang out.
The rain brought violent winds and thunder. It was horrible weather that Lost City saw once every year, and most enjoyed it. The sound of thunder woke Herry up from her sleep. She got scared when the candle went out, and ran downstairs and hid herself next to demon under the covers. Unconsciously, he wrapped his arms around her waist as she buried her face against his neck. She silently counted to take her mind off the thunder storm, and soon fell asleep, lured by demons scent and greater body heat.
He was woken up in the morning, but her snuggling against him at first he held her tightly against him. Her little hands played with his fur as she cuddled closer. He opened his eyes and saw who the intruder was. "Herry wake up," he whispered as if testing to see if she was really sleeping. Then the evil took over him, "WAKE UP!" shouted demon making her jump from her peaceful slumber.
"Morning," she yawned half asleep.
"Morning? WHY WERE YOU SLEEPING NEAR ME?! WHAT? THE BED IS NOT TO YOUR LIKING, SO YOU DECIDED TO USE ME AS A PILLOW......IS THAT IT?!!" He asked looking at her with a violent look in his eyes. He wasn't mad, just trying to hide the fact that he was blushing; if he were human he'd be bright red.
"I'm sorry...its just that I'm scared of thunderstorms....I didn't mean to mess with you," she sniffled wiping tears away, getting off the couch and running upstairs to the bedroom. He stood quietly outside the door and heard her crying. He felt like a monster, he didn't mean to make her cry, he just didn't know how to react to her sleeping with him. Good thing he's not a roller when he's asleep, or he'd feel worse if he crushed her in his sleep. He had to apologize, he thought as he got on his enormous flying mantis mount, and went to see the pet trainer in the city.
He got what she recommended, then headed home. he knocked on the door, and opened it just enough for the little panther cub to go through then closed the door and headed downstairs and sat down meditating.
Upstairs, she peeked from her hideout from under the covers to see a tiny little lump of black fur with a blue ribbon around his neck curled up playing with its tail purring. She got out of bed and picked up the cub who playfully pushed his little paws against her hands as his tail wagged about. "Hello cutie," she giggled taking the ribbon off and hugging him before setting him on the bed. "I'm gonna name you Ulan," She giggled playing with the kitten and poking at his belly. After a while she got hungry. Ulan was asleep, she quietly snuck downstairs to the kitchen to her surprise, Demon was nowhere to be seen, so she made herself a snack then got a bowl of milk for Ulan and headed upstairs. Ulan drunk half the bowl of milk and she ate her snack then the two fell asleep after an interesting game of shoe lace tag.
Laughter woke up ulan who ran downstairs to find demon and a panda cracking jokes ( the panda is Kazu demon's best friend from when they were growing up in lost city ,he's a bit of a perv and loves girls ) "She sassed me and called me fluffy!" said demon as kazu laughed.
"Well its to show ya that even human ladies can't resist us handsome cuddly untamed warriors." laughed the panda.
"Yeah right, she probably thinks I'm a giant plushy with a pulse," mumbled Demon going into the kitchen. The panda spotted ulan peeking from the stairs and reached to pet him but got scratched before he ran up the stairs.
"Ouch, no fair," muttered kazu going upstairs after Ulan, unaware that Herry was up and in the shower.
"Kazu, she's probably in the bedroom so be careful!" Shouted Demon from the kitchen. With no answer from his buddy, Kazu pushed the door open and saw Ulan on the bed. Herry came into the room with a towel around her to find kazu holding Ulan by the paws.
"Gotcha you little criminal," chuckled Kazu.
"PERVERT!" she shouted catching his attention firing an earth spell at him.
"I can explain!" He screamed dropping Ulan and dashed for the door. A fire spell from the back sent him flying down the steps.
"Weirdo!" Shouted herryion slamming the door shut.
"Told you she was crazy," Grinned demon helping him up.
"She's gorgeous." Chuckled Kazu dusting himself off
"Did she hit you over the head with that staff of hers, or did you bump your head on the way down the stairs? She's crazy," Said demon sitting down and pouring himself a drink.
"Well I think I'm in love, feel free to call me crazy," chuckled Kazu drinking a shot of rum.
"You're crazy, be my guest if you want to get turned into panda shichkabob... well you chose your fate."
"That little fur ball scratched and bit me," Kazu said.
"Well serves you right," laughed Demon, "oh come on its cute". "It probably sees you as an intruder."
"Are we talking about the girl or the kitten?" Asked kazu a bit confused
"Both.' Demon grunted.
"You're lucky dude," said Kazu with a dreamy look on his face. Demon was about to respond when she came downstairs with Ulan following her. Demon narrowed his eyes as they followed. She went to the kitchen; Kazu was sitting there looking guilty about the incident that took place moments earlier. Demon was looking at her as she came from the kitchen with a pack that he assumed was her lunch then out the door in her armor.
"I'm sorry!" Kazu blurted out before she closed the door, making Demon look at him like he was an idiot.
"It's okay," Chirped Herry peeking in from the window and pinching Demon's ears before running away.
"I swear on her grave," Demon muttered as he shot Kazu a death glare for the cute comment, "see? She's weird," said Demon as his ears moved quickly back and forth making Kazu laugh before downing another shot of rum before heading to a little village not far from Lost City that was being attacked by a hoard of monsters.
