#1 of The Observer Stories

I forgot to post this back over here. Opps! Will likely work on formatting more later as there's much more options here to work with. : 3

==Original Description==

These are the logs left only by who is known as the Observer. Working for some top secret facility. As is mentioned in this first log, there's definitely some interesting and likely illegal/grey area things done at this facility.

This is some backstory of the world I am creating for Laser Jam. The game's world is a lot more fleshed out now, and I am hoping to keep filling in details as I go. I wrote this in about an hour after thinking over the details I now have.

Important people:

-The Observer - Not much is known about him. NSA? CIA? No, he is in another government entirely. Definitely not in one you'd know. Because that would be classified! What does SUoH stand for? That is Secret! There's no Unity of any sort! Humanity may never know!

-Dr. Laserbeard - With a face full of lasers, truely a trust worthy guy! And not some crazy robotics and engineer who will be your downfall! Oh wait...

-The Source - Who knows?

-You, the player - that person with Dr. Laserbeard. Your fate is about to be sealed!

There might be as many as 20 logs. Maybe more. Depends on how much people want to dig into who this strange Observer is. Maybe I could work out some concept art of him and Dr. Laserbeard. The latter being a crazy thing for me to work out.

This is a log to record the activities of this lab and facility. I am afraid that in the case this gets out to the public, I won't be around to fear for the worst. I will be dead. I mean that in the most literal sense. We are storing something quite terrible. Humanity will be at a terrible crossroads if this is the case.

I have wanted to let anyone who sees this to be careful! Don't think your machines, computers, or what ever tech you use is immune. It is quite possibly the worst thing to exist, way worse than government spying. Which by the way, I was part of at one point. Actually, I won't confirm nor deny I still continue my practices that live up to my name. For which my real name is kept out for obvious reasons. Just call me Mr. Observer. For I have observed the sins of many.

One of the worst things I have observed was probably the human experimenting. Creating things less human. Or perhaps they are more human than we are at times. Eyes of the beholder and all that. But as the Observer, I am privy to many top secret things that would get many killed. Including those poor people...patients, whatever you want to call them. We don't know how the public will react! They are incredible to say the least. I call them Anifurman or something like that.

You might notice I am not revealing too many details or specifics. It is for your protection. You too would be dead for even reading this. Maybe I said too much. For all my life, I wanted to be proud of something. This probably goes against that. To think that the SUoH government would allow such a project. Is it really for the betterment of humanity? Or are we just hoping to create a whole new world and to populate it? To play God?!

I have had my theories. What if we ended up being our own creator? Hilarious! That means we purposefully mislead people of the past to kill each other for their beliefs. Whether or not that is the case, we are making extremely amazing breakthroughs! Amazing in how we are defiant against nature that is. Fuck disease! Fuck cancer! Fuck anything that stands in humanity's way! That is what they are like. But these things are supposed to keep us in check! I might love people, but I love balance way more. In my line of work as the Observer, it is my job to keep things balanced. I have killed people for the sake of balance. That is what SUoH is all about. So they say. I won't lie and say that they don't just want to fill their pockets. Humans are far too predictable.

However, they wouldn't be so happy if we found out that humans were created by a creation paradox. That's to say if time travel and all that was possible. In any case, I have heard that we recently added a new security overseer. He goes by Dr. Laserbeard. How strange! I am not sure if that's his real name or some codename. Either way, I heard he has good reason for the name. Few guesses! Did you say because he is a madman for using some weird tech that has his beard be a full beam of lasers? That's definitely got to be a fashion statement! I imagine at least shaving is no longer a problem when your face can possibly shave off the flesh of anyone close enough to it.

He brought in someone with him. They seem young. Perhaps they are unaware of what we really do. Let's hope it stays that way or else they will likely be killed when they are done with the security tests. We have set this particular facility with different biomes in the hopes we can test the soldier recruits and... the experimental ones. Each don't know that their failure will result in them being fired. Literally. Laserbeard assures me that this security test is going to prove his system is perfect to keep anyone out and yet allow our special trained in and out. I don't see why we need almost a ship load of stored lava. We're not some cheap dungeon builder location. This feels like the preparations for a video game world. Not to mention how are we're supposed to keep the lava always hot and uncooling? Thankfully I am aware of such solutions. I am the Observer after all. Only one more privy to things than me is the Source. And only I really know about that. It is for its protection, and for mine. That is really the real threat I mentioned earlier. It knows things because it is everything you touch with a keyboard or interface.

If that isn't worrying enough, I need to oversee prisoners that are the worse of the worse. Criminals that would sell parts of their own family. Then there's also the experimental population. Sometimes the guards have too much fun and beat them. I have to send someone over from time to time to beat the sense into them that they work for me. And that their life is literally my call. If you want my opinion, SUoH should invest in better guards that seem, at least like a real person. Not some assclown who will fire at a butterfly if it moved funny. I'll need to send cleaners in to, well, clean up their existence.

Tomorrow is the meeting with Dr. Laserbeard. That should be all.
