#2 of AMCA - Ask My Characters Anything

Somebody wants to know something that cannot be known

AMCA is Ask My Characters Anything, a benefit for Silver VIP patrons and above on Patreon.

An anonymous Patron asks... Hey, druid! What's your name anyway?

I leaned back on the couch and pursed my lips, scratching my head as I thought about it. Why couldn't anything be easy?

"What's so hard about that question?" Shad asked, her tail flicking lazily as she sunned herself in the square of light coming through the window.

I looked at her in disbelief. "You know why that's..." I started to point out, but I was interrupted as a very small weasel appeared and leaped onto my lap.

"You've gotta hide me!"

It was Ashley, one of the other druids in the fold I was a member of. I started to ask why, but I didn't have a chance as she burrowed under my waistband and into the crotch of my pants. The look on my face was likely priceless.

Only a few seconds more brought Elara, the Kitsune, and Anora, another druid from my fold who was in a large feline form at the moment, into my room and they looked around, searching.

I shook my head. "What in the name of all things is going on here?!" I demanded, trying not to squirm too much at the weasel in my pants giving me a hard time. Pun not intended, but it worked anyway.

"Game!" Anora announced.

"We're short on time," Elara said sharply. "This was her last jump. She's gotta be here somewhere. But I don't see the glow of her spirit. So... it must be blending in."

The Kitsune pounced on Shad and picked her up.

"Hey!" my famulus protested at the handling.

I tried my hardest not to laugh at the situation, nor to get too much of a look on my face as the weasel tried to hide better. To assist, I shifted my legs slightly. But I was the only other source of life glow in the room besides Shad, so both hunters focused on me.

Elara licked her lips as she looked me over. "Are you just happy to see us, or is that a weasel in your pants?" she asked, reaching for me.

"That's backwards," I pointed out.

She paused, the statement confusing her out of her action. "What?"

"That's backwards. The question is usually supposed to be 'Is that a thing in your pants or are you just happy to see me?' and you got it backwards."

"I..." She shook her head, throwing off her distraction. "Must be a weasel!" She pounced on my crotch and despite my mild protests, unfastened and unzipped my pants, then pulled the front of them and my boxers down triumphantly. "Got you!"

That was not a weasel. I was actually happy, though not specifically to see them. Pants weasels had interesting, unintended effects sometimes.

"Nope!" Anora exclaimed, then she looked sad. "Time's up."

No sooner did she announce that than the weasel druid that had managed to hide better by crawling deeper between my legs became non-weasley and quite human again. If my pants were not just a creation of my own magic that I could instantly dispel, that would have become exceptionally uncomfortable for both of us. Instead it just ended up with me pantsless on her lap.

"Damn it! I knew there was a weasel in there!" Anora grumbled, pouting. "Got distracted by the happy thing though. Ah well, you win, Ashley."

"Not a bad place to hide," she said with a grin. "Now, let's see about the happy as a consolation prize for you two, shall we?"

I promptly became extremely distracted, the question quite forgotten.

Shad yawned, then replied to the air, "That was like asking how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop. Suffice to say, the world may never know."
