Surrounded by silence, crowds seem imagined at best
I can't seem to dream when I lay eyes closed at night
I simply get lost in thoughts, waking from nothing, or nightmares, leaving with a little rest
I can only dream with eyes open, peace only found in the warm daylight
It's a bad joke... to know one repeats the same actions every time without fail
Free to walk around the world, though each sundown, returning to a mentally changing jail
Somehow, it's not surprising, but without pills, I remember nothing...not better...but maybe leaving some room for progress toward those high hopes once worth idolizing...
A mess, a success, a train gone too far for progress...
Many a thing, for the "eternal tomorrow", I need not yet confess...
Eh... such is life...
