Chapter 1

New beginnings

This is an alternate universe to Ash and Gary. Gary still exsist but my character replaces ash.

Main elements of the anime will be replaced with aspects from the games. with that in mind let's begin.

Kira Fyrehart heard all the stories of kids turning ten and getting a pokemon from Prof. Oak. Her childhood friend Gary was always a jerk.

Even if his sister told Kira that he liked her. She didn't care she had no interest in him.

It was a week after she turned ten oak had the starters ready. She got dressed and hurried out the door.

She visited the lab were Gary waited. "Gary.... What are YOU doing here already?" She huffed as she stood there.

Gary would look over to see his childhood friend and rival Kira.

Her shoulder length wavy hair, Red Sleeveless shirt, A slight redish color skirt with Blue boots.

"Well look who it is. Kira. Last as always! Gramps ain't here. He went looking for you."

She huffs at his attitude before waving as she goes to look for Prof. Oak. He was out like usual.

she decides to check route 1 and nearly jumps as she heard a voice.

"Kira wait!" Prof. Oak comes running up "Good thing I found you. It's Dangerous to leave without a Pokémon.

Come with me please." She didn't argue and followed Oak.

As soon as they go into the lab she follows and stands beside Gary "Yo gramps. What gives?" Oak sighs and shrugs "

I called you both here because now that your ten. Your old enough to travel with Pokémon. On the table are three PokéBall's inside is a pokemon.

I want you both to have one."

Kira giggles and smiles "Thanks professor." She decides to go first and knew just who to get.

Charmander! Who she decided to name Blaze. Gary walks over and picks squirtle. "Hey Kira let's battle... I'll take you on!" Kira looks to

Blaze as he promptly nods to her before she'd nods to Gary "Alright. If it'll take you down a peg! Go Blaze!"

Blaze leaps into the middle of the lab as Gary sent out Squirtle after they knew there moves.

Kira starts with Scratch. And Gary was Assasulting with Tackle. For the two starters it was a tough fight but

Blaze manages to barely win as she hugs him and jumps in place "Good job Blaze! We beat him!" Gary looked upset and returns his pokémon to it's ball. "Hmph you just got lucky. I'll train and become the pokemon league champion! Gramps. Kira. Smell ya later!"

Kira Huffs as she returns blaze to his ball and follows after. She visits her mom first and summons Blaze "Hey mom! Come here I got my starter!"

Her mom comes downstairs and smiles looking at the Charmander. She'd come up and kneel down petting him "He's a cutie..." Kira smiles and nods

"I called him Blaze." Mom looks up as she stands "It's a good name.. Here..." she pulls out some cash and hands over three thousand dollars.

"Some funds to start you off. Make sure you keep yourself stocked up. And take good care of your Pokémon. They aren't just powerful creatures.

They are our partners and friends." Kira rolls her eyes and giggles "Yes mom I know." with that they hug and say there

good byes for now as she returns blaze to his ball. Healing him up before leaving for route 1. There she'd train before reaching Vermillion city.

"Okay first rule... Always visit the pokémon center!" She'd head to the pokemon center and get her Charmander healed before nurse joy spoke up

"Your from pallet right? Make sure to visit the poké mart. It's just a bit north west of here."

Kira nods and heads out to the market and as soon as she walks in the owner speaks up "Hey are you from Pallet?" Kira rubs the back of her

head and gives a nervous laugh "That obvious huh?" She'd walk up and smile her blue eyes sparkle a bit with her personality.

"Prof Oak ordered this parcel and hasn't been able to come by. Will you drop it off?"

Kira thinks and nods before taking it "Yes sir." They wave to eachother and she makes her way back to route 1 where she gets in some more

training. Once back in pallet she heads for the lab as she walks up Oak smiles "Back already? Looks like my

old pal is happy with you as a trianer." Kira nods before she pulls the parcel out "The market owner wanted me to bring this to you."

Oak takes it and nods "This is the custom Poké Ball i ordered Thanks." With that gary enters "Hey gramps check out how strong my pokémon is.

Oak rolls his eyes annoyed before remembering something "OH! I almost forgot i want you two to do something for me.

These devices are called a PokéDex. It records the Data on any pokemon you catch I would like you to fill it in.

That's my dream." Kira and Gary take the Dexes and She'd nod "Alright i'll help out!"

Gary scoffs and pockets the pokedex "That'll be a snap. I'll get it done before ya Kira. I think I'll borrow a Town Map from my sister.

I'll tell her not to lend you one. Smell ya later!" With that he leaves and and she sighs. She exits noticing it was starting to get late

late as she heads to Gary's house to talk to his sister "Hey kira what's up?" Kira explained what's going on as gary's sister sighs "that grampa... How lazy here i have a Town Map for you." She grabs a Town Map and hands it to Kira "This'll help you keep track of where you are. And stay here tonight okay?" Kira nods as she stays in the spare bedroom letting blaze out to sleep next to her as the two drift to sleep.
