Just a quirky little thing I typed up real fast because I thought it might be relatively interesting to weapons enthusiasts. Mostly a "why not?" kinda thing but it does add a bit more insight into each of my characters and supplements their bios. ^v^

Hraefn, Atohi, Kedge @ Hraefn

*Since all my main characters are based on me,they share my love of melee weapons and weapons history as well as my strong belief in the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution. They thus all have a small collection of personal weapons.

-Hraefn: Not including his VAST collection of antique and modern weapons, Hraefn owns and carries / uses the following:

-HANDGUNS:

-A modern reproduction of the classic Smith & Wesson Schofield break top revolver that was an iconic part of the old west. This is a reflection of both his southern rebel pride as well as his preference for revolvers in general. Due to their ruggedness, inherent reliability, beauty, simplicity and versatility. His schofield is chambered in modern smokeless .45 long colt and features a number of modifications. The cylinder is shaved down to allow the gun to accept and chamber .45 ACP ammunition with the use of half or full moon clips which greatly adds to it's versatility. It also features a 'safety notches' mod that puts safety notches on the cylinder in between each chamber for the hammer to rest in so that it can safely be carried with all 6 chambers loaded. With the cylinder auto indexing to the next chamber when the single action hammer is cocked. It has a blued finish with custom made bone grips which have been molded with finger grooves that fit his talons perfectly. They also have scrimshaw on each side of a tribal raven skull as a touch of personal embellishment. He CAN and sometimes DOES carry this as his concealed carry gun but only on special occasions. It's a gentleman's pistol and is his first choice for an open carry environment such as certain parties where fine suits are a must. It's a favorite range gun and lends itself very well to target and trick shooting. If carried he often has it loaded with .45 ACP hollow points in half moon clips with several spare clips on him. He prefers to carry it in a left shoulder holster rig. Finely embroidered black leather in the traditional 'cowboy' fashion. Inspired by one of his personal heroes, Doc Holliday.

-A Smith & Wesson Model 627 revolver. Chambered in .357 magnum. He adores .357 revolvers because they are arguable THE most practical, versatile and reliable all around handgun type anyone in the modern world could own and use. They can chamber .357 magnum, .38 special and .38 +P. Ball, hollow point, etc. This revolver is single / double action with an 8 round swing out cylinder and a stainless finish with practical, performance black rubber hogue grips. His being custom with embedded sterling silver raven skull medallions. It has a 4" barrel and conceals quite well in either his shoulder holster rig or inside the waistband holster. He reloads it with speed strips as they are far easier to conceal and carry than the bulkier and heavier fully loaded speed loaders. This is his practical every day conceal carry weapon and it's often loaded with .357 magnum hollow points. Occasionally .38 +P hollow points. It is designed with a transfer bar style safety and has adjustable high visibility sights. It's a modern revolver with modern advantages but holds true to his revolver bias and love as well as his support of Smith & Wesson.

-LONG GUNS:

-A Rossi Model 92 lever action carbine. A modern gun chambered in .45 Long Colt that speaks to Hraefn's love of the old west and specifically the age old desire for a 'perfect pair.' A long arm and hand gun chambered in the same cartridge for ease of ammo logistics. The carbine offering greater velocity, range and therefore power out of the round and getting the most out of it. This gun holds about 10 + 1 rounds. A range favorite. great for target and trick shooting. Well paired with his Schofield. Has a black finish and wood stock and hand guard.

-A Mossberg 500 pump action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. Firing bird shot, buck shot or slugs. Matte black finish, customized with a folding stock, red dot sight, pistol grip and pistol grip pump. It's a tactical home defense weapon and range favorite. Owing to Hraefn's preference of shotguns as his favorite long gun for much the same reason as he loves revolvers. Being that they are rugged, time proven, HIGHLY simple, effective and versatile guns. It includes different choke options which can make it surprisingly accurate when firing slugs.

-MELEE:

-A custom made 8 inch clip point hand forged recycled tool steel blade Bowie knife with bone coffin handle style grips bearing the same scrimshaw tribal raven skull on either side to match it to his Schofield. This massive knife is not practical to carry day to day but when he IS carrying his Schofield it makes a nice pairing. It has it's own custom leather belt sheath as well. It speaks to his love of knives in general and again the old west.

-A custom made tribal style spike-back tomahawk forged from recycled tool steel with a leather strip wrapped hardwood handle. Again ties into his love of the old west and Native American culture.

-A modern high carbon steel matte black tactical / combat spike back tomahawk forged from one piece of metal and includes a pry bar formed out of the end of the handle. Has black polymer handle scales. The other end of the spectrum. Being a modern defensive / breaching / combat tool. Ties in with his LOVE of axes and especially tomahawks in general. (His favorite historical melee weapons being the knife, axe and spear / pole-arm.)

-Hraefn has a VAST collection of practical and impractical knives including fixed blades, folders, switchblades etc. He might carry any number of these on a given day. But his default tactical EVERY DAY carry knife is a a matte black 7 inch tanto point ka-bar combat knife with a black grip on a concealed belt sheath.

-Atohi:

-HANDGUNS:

-Like Hraefn Atohi takes a more old west / southern, traditional approach to guns and thus also carries a .357 magnum for the same reasons Hraefn does. His being a Ruger GP100 with a 7 round swing out cylinder, 2.50 inch barrel, single / double action trigger, high visibility adjustable sights and black rubber Hogue grips with a stainless finish. He does not share Hraefn's 'need' for 'flair' and actually prefers ruger revolvers because they are overbuilt 'tanks' that can take a beating. They are not graceful or eloquent, they are reliable, well engineered and made utilitarian TOOLS. Excellent for both self defense and use in the woods / wild. His is carried in a deep concealment inside the waistband holster and is usually carried with either .357 magnum hollow points or .38 +P hollow points with spare rounds carried on speed strips. This is his primary every day carry gun.

-He also owns and occasionally carries a customized Colt M1911 Government Model chambered in .38 super. Owing to his pride in his Mexican heritage. The .38 super being VERY popular in the country due to it's status as one of the few LEGAL rounds for civilian gun owners. The round itself actually in some ways out performing 9mm parabellum as it has much higher velocity. Atohi's pistol holds 10 + 1 rounds of ammo and features custom black finger groove pachmayer grips bearing custom sterling silver Aztec style skull medallions, fitted over the stock checkered black colt grips. The finish is blued. This gun is more of a shooter / range gun HOWEVER he can and DOES carry it occasionally as it is a great gun and a lot of fun. When carried he also uses a deep concealment inside the waistband holster for it and carries two spare magazines.

-LONG GUNS:

-He only has one long gun since he does not believe in hunting with firearms as a personal preference. Opting to crossbow or traditional bow hunt. (His bow collection being vast and including the most modern and the most primitive.)As such he only has a Remington 870 12 gauge pump action shotgun in black with a shorter barrel, 6 + 1 capacity, pistol grip, folding stock, red dot sight, heat shield and pistol gripped pump. Primarily as a home defense weapon.

-MELEE:

-He carries a custom forged 6 inch single edged clip point Bowie knife forged by a Seminole blacksmith from recycled tool steel with bone coffin shaped grips in a leather belt sheathe.

-He also carries a matched tomahawk made by the same blacksmith from the same materials but only when hunting or in the woods. It's a spike-back with a hardwood leather wrapped handle. A powerful weapon and tool. (Atohi also has a MASSIVE collection of tribal weaponry.)

-KEDGE:

-HANDGUNS:

-Kedge, similar to Atohi is a more practical and utilitarian kind of guy. He wants a gun that can fill MULTIPLE roles and can be outfitted to perfrom multiple duties and functions. Thus he uses a Glock 19 9mm striker fired semi-auto polymer handgun not because it is the best gun in the world but because it is simple, utilitarian, rugged and reliable. It's reliability in fact leading to it being called the 'flat revolver.' It is a 17 + 1 round weapon and his has two different custom slides. The first contains a compact, durable, high performance reflex red dot sight for optimal defensive combat usage. The sight also allows the iron sights to be seen through it to serve as a back up. He also has a custom ordered and made stainless steel slide with it's own custom lengthened barrel intended to allow the weapon to function better underwater so that Kedge can use it to hunt fish, last resort defense against underwater predators, and when he is assisting by clearing out invasive species such as lion fish around the coasts of florida. (eating or donating what he catches) When back on the surface it's a simple matter of swapping the slides back and of course cleaning and drying the pistol. He carries this weapon every day as his primary concealed carry weapon. Keeping it in a deep concealment inside the waistband holster with two spare magazines.

-LONG GUNS:

-Matching with his belief in utilitarian no nonsense synchronicity and simplicity, Kedge's only long gun for home defense, target shooting etc. is a KRISS Vector Sub Machine Gun. the civilian Carbine version in semi-auto only with a lengthened barrel. In black with a folding stock and a combat range red dot holographic sight. It uses either his standard 17 round Glock magazines or extended 33 round magazines. Chambered in the same 9mm as his pistol and thus making it a 'perfect pair.' Wherein the carbine and pistol are both the same caliber, making ammo acquisition and logistics far easier. Like the pistol he usually keeps 9mm hollow points in it.

-MELEE:

-Kedge has a massive collection of vintage and modern dive gear and knives and bang sticks and spear guns he's quite fond of using from time to time. However his default defensive / dive knife is a MK 3 Navy SEALS combat / dive knife with a stainless steel 6 inch plain edge clip point blade and a serrated spine. Black textured grips and a wrist lanyard. It is black coated and carried in a Kydex belt sheath that locks it securely into place. It is an invaluable tool and defensive implement when diving.
