Chapter 10 : Not my self

Kyo woke up early to see his master still asleep. The human slowly slipped out of bed to not disturb the wolf, 'I have to go talk to him.' He thought as he walked out of the room and down the long hall.

Hours has passed until Icewaver slowly opened his eyes from the sunlight. He sat up and looked around but he didn't see his pup anywhere. 'Where did he go off to?' he figured he went to go shower or get breakfast, so the wolf wasn't too bothered by his pet walking out without telling him. Icewaver got up and went through his bag of clothes that has not yet been put away. 'He'll need to straighten things up in here.' The wolf chuckled to himself.

After properly getting dressed and straighten up his fur, the wolf looked at himself in the mirror but as soon as he saw himself his smile faded. 'Am I really that hated by everyone?' The wolf shook his head as he walked out to see what everyone else was up too. As he walked wolves and slaves greeted good morning but was kind of worried to not hear anything back. Icewaver just kept walking till he found the dining room where his mother was sitting and drinking some tea.

The wolf walked up and took a seat next to her. His mother gave him a happy smile as she saw her son walked in to sit beside her. "Morning sweetheart." She said.

"Morning mother." He said back.

Her smile disappeared when she saw her son wasn't his old cheery self. "Is everything alright."

He glanced at her then down to the table. "Yeah everything is fine."

She could tell that something was off, she moved closer and placed a paw on his shoulder. "Is this about what your sister said last night?"

The wolf's gaze shot straight up. "What? No, look mother I'm fine really."

His mother didn't buy that one bit, but she didn't want to pressure him into telling her. "Ok, if you say you are but if you need to talk I'm here for you ok?"

The wolf nodded as he looked behind him to a slave. "A cup of tea please." The slave bowed and walked out of the room to return later with his request. The two wolves drank their tea in silence till Icewaver was done. He got up and headed for the door, "I'm going to go make sure the guards are doing their job." He said.

"Ok dear, just remember what I told you." She said loudly. Icewaver just waved at her as he walked out.

Kyo could have sworn that he searched all over the palace but he couldn't find the one person that he was looking for, as he walked he saw some wolves standing guard by the outside doorway. Kyo hesitantly walked up and bowed to them. "Excuse me sirs, but do you know where the Alpha might be?"

They all laughed at him then one of them walked up. "Why would a slave care where the Alpha might be at?"

Kyo shook from nerviness. "Umm....I need to talk to him, its important." Kyo said but just got another burst of laughter from everyone.

"I think you need to get back to work, slave, before you get in trouble." The one wolf said.

"But it's about Angelis, it's important that I speak with him." Kyo protested.

All the wolves walked forward to him snarling. "Listen you little fuck..." the wolf snarled as he pushed Kyo into the wall. "Get your ass back to work before you regret it for disobeying."

"And you'll regret it if you put your paw on him one more time." A voice came from behind them.

"What will you do about it?" The wolf said as he turned around but soon turned bright red from embarrassment. All the wolves bowed quickly. "Sorry Alpha," He said.

Galle looked up at Kyo and motioned him to come closer. Kyo did as he was told and walked up to the wolf's side. The wolf placed his arm around the human and drew him closer. "Do you know who this?" He asked the wolves.

They all stood there for a second but eventually shook their heads. The Alpha looked down at the ground in disappointment. He pointed to the wolf that shoved Kyo. "You come here." He ordered. The wolf slowly walked up in front of Galle. Galle reached down to the collar and moved it around Kyo's neck so the name plate was in front. "What does this say?"

The wolf bent down to get a better view. "It says..." the wolf read it to himself and he was all of a sudden in shock.

The Alpha yelled from being impatient. "Well? I'm waiting for the words to escape your muzzle!"

The wolf shook from being yelled at. "It says 'pup, head family's pet'." The wolf managed to say. Galle looked up at the others as they started to whimper.

"If I catch any of you touching him like that again I guarantee that when I'm done with all of you, you will all wish I would have just discharge your asses." The wolf turned with his arms around Kyo's shoulders and walked off with the human. The two ended up walking into a garden that surrounded the east side of the palace. Galle looked around and was relieved to see that no-one was in sight. "Ok, now what is this about my son?"

Kyo looked down to the ground. "I know sir, that you already know of the fight that Angelis had with my master."

Galle nodded. "Yes, so I've heard from my wife."

"It's just..." Kyo rubbed the side of his arm from being nervous.

Galle smiled down at the human in hopes it would loosen the tension in the atmosphere. "It's ok pup, you can tell or ask me anything."

Seeing the wolf smile at him did make Kyo feel somewhat better about talking about the situation. "Sir, I know it's not my place to ask, but is it true that you bought me to help make master more mature and trustworthy like she said last night."

"Wha..." Galle let out a loud laugh. "Did she really say that?" Kyo shyly smiled as he nodded. It was something about the wolf's laugh that Kyo can't help but smile. "Damn, what a bitch. Sorry, my wife didn't mentioned what she said."

Kyo was shock that Angelis's own father called her a bitch as an insult and not as a sex term. "Yes sir, that and amongst other things."

The wolf sat down on the ground and motioned Kyo to do the same. "Listen pup, between you and me the one that I'm displeased with and wishes that would grow up is Angelis. I know that Icewaver acts like a pup but when it comes to it he has the instincts of an alpha and he isn't afraid to show it once in a while."

"So you didn't buy me for that reason?" Kyo asked.

The wolf shook his head. "Nope, I promised Icewaver when he was younger, and had small arguments, that if he made the rank and became head of the guards then I'll get him a slave."

Kyo was somewhat relived, but he still had one little problem. "Sir, what about Angelis? She hates me, I can see why but she seemed to be after master even more now."

Galle sighed. "Yes I can see that, those two always been at it but it was because they are siblings. Now though since your little incident wit her, she seems to be making it more personnel." Galle placed his paw on Kyo's head and smiled down at him. "For now though I need you to do me a favor."

Kyo looked up at the big wolf. "Anything sir."

Galle looked up to his left in the distance. "Icewaver should be talking with the guard's by now. I need you to be by his side, he might need someone like you right now. The last time he had a fight like this it really hit him hard and he wasn't himself for a while."

Kyo looked down at the ground but nodded. The two stood up off the ground, Galle motioned Kyo in the direction he should go. Kyo bowed to the wolf. "Thank you for the talk Lord Galle."

The wolf chuckled. "Anytime pup, now go to your master." Kyo turned on his heels and walked off.

It wasn't hard to find Icewaver from all the yelling that was being done as Kyo rounded the corner. He saw all the guards that they brought with them, that wasn't standing post, in rows standing at attention. In front were Icewaver and another wolf fighting each other. Kyo stopped in his place as the two wolves threw punches and was kicking at one another.

Icewaver stood in a fighting stance as the other wolf charged him. The wolf threw his punch at Icewaver but failed as Icewaver dodged by taking a step to the side, with a swift motion Icewaver threw his arm upwards to hit the other wolf's arm to make it go up in the air. With the wolf's torso exposed now Icewaver took full advantage of it as he gave three quick jabs to the wolf's ribs. The wolf fell to his knees instantly, Icewaver offered him his paw as he pulled the wolf to his feet and patted him on his back as the wolf walked back and got into rank with the others.

Kyo walked into view of his master, Icewaver looked over and saw his pet. He looked back to the wolves, "Good training but some of you still needs work. Dismissed." All the wolves bowed and walked off into their different directions.

Icewaver walked over to the human and crossed his arms. "Where have you been?"

Kyo's smile disappeared as he looked down to the ground. "I needed to go talk to someone master."

"Who?" Icewaver asked.

"The Alpha." Kyo blurted out.

Icewaver's jaw dropped. "You did what?" he yelled.

Kyo took a step back from being yelled at. "Master, I had to talk to him about Angelis."

The human heard the one thing he never thought he would get from his master, Icewaver started to growl at Kyo. "You fucking talked about last night didn't you?" He snarled.

Kyo looked down at the ground to hide his face from the wolf as his eyes started to tear. "Ye...yes master." He managed to say.

Icewaver let out a yell. "Fuck!" he turned around and looked like he was about to walk off but turned back around in frustration. "Why would you..." he placed his paws to his face. "Damn it, just...just go back to my chambers and put my shit away." He ordered before walking away.

Kyo did as he was told and went back to his master's chambers, Kyo couldn't help but cry as he was really worried about Icewaver but he had a job to do. The human unpacked all of the clothes and put them away neatly, once that was done he went over and fixed the bed. Kyo sat on the floor at the foot end of the bed, he brought his knees up to his chest. 'Was what I did wrong?' Kyo thought about it before he heard laughing coming from outside the door. The door slowly opened before bursting open as Froshen came running inside and closed the door quietly. Once inside the room he looked all over before darting to Kyo. Kyo watched as the wolf came up to him and to his surprised slipped under the bed. Kyo couldn't help but chuckle at the young wolf.

"Young master what are you doing?" Kyo asked.

Kyo listened and all he got was. "Shhh...he's coming." Kyo heard the door open and a small cougar came inside.

He pointed to Kyo. "You, slave. Did a small wolf come in here?"

Kyo shook his head. "No sir." The cougar cursed to himself as he turned and left the room.

Once the door was closed the young wolf slowly moved out from underneath the bed. "Thank you pup." Froshen said happily but once he got a good look at Kyo his smile faded away. "Is everything ok?"

Kyo looked down at the floor. "I did something wrong and now my master hates me."

Kyo felt warmth as Froshen gave him a hug. "Uncle would never hate you. He's having an off day is all, things will get better." Kyo gave the pup a small smile and nodded. Froshen let go of Kyo and headed for the door, once he had it open he look both ways in the hall and vanished as he took off running down the hall.

Kyo looked down at the floor and thought for a moment. "Alpha was right, that fight last night really did mess with him." Kyo wanted to leave the room and find the wolf to apologize but he knew that if he left the room it just might make things worse for him. Kyo decided to just wait for his master to return, but by the time he did Kyo had fallen asleep on the floor.

Icewaver walked in to find Kyo sitting on the floor asleep, he walked over to the closet and found his clothes put away neatly. Icewaver looked back at his slave and felt guilty for yelling at him earlier. He knew that the human was just trying to help but the fact that he went and talked to his father without his permition just got to him. The wolf walked over to Kyo and bent down to pick him up. Once he had the human in his arms he slowly walked over to the bed and laid the human down.

Kyo slowly woke up once he was placed on the bed. "Master?"

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you." Icewaver said.

Kyo shook his head. "No you shouldn't be sorry, I should be the one sorry for going to the Alpha like that."

Icewaver looked down at his human. "Pup, I know you're worried about me. I just need my space for a little while and sort things out. So for the moment I think its best if you don't hang around me for now, I don't want to snap at you like I did earlier."

Kyo sat up on the bed and leaned closer to the wolf, "I understand master." He said softly as he kissed him on the cheek.

Icewaver smiled at his pet as he gave him a hug. "Thank you pup." Icewaver said as he released the human and walked out of the room.

Kyo lay back down on the bed, he slowly drifted off to sleep still thinking about the wolf but the last thing he remembered was the door opening.

Hours seemed to have pass until Kyo slowly woke up, to his surprise he was incredibly warm. Kyo tried to move but something was keeping him down. Kyo looked down to see an arm wrapped around his waist, Kyo could see that the fur was shorter than a wolf's so it had to be a cougar. Kyo prayed as he looked back but was unnerved at who he sawlying beside him.

Bron was fast asleep with Kyo in his arms. The cougar was snoozing softly, as Kyo tried to move the cougar flinched a bit but tightened his grip on the human. Kyo cursed at himself as he couldn't get up. 'You have got to be shitting me.' Kyo told himself as he tried again and again to get up off the bed. Each time he failed as the cougar's grip kept a hold of him. As Kyo tried once more he heard the door knob slowly turn. 'Are you fucking serious.' He thought as Icewaver walked in.

The wolf was looking at some papers as he walked to the bed. "Pup it's time to get u..." He paused when he glanced up to see the human straining to get up out of the bed but the cougar's grip wouldn't let him. Icewaver couldn't help but laugh at the site.

"Master, this is not funny. Please help me up." Icewaver thought for a moment, for a little bit he felt like his old self once more.

"Ok, ok." He said as he walked over to place the papers on the counter near the bed, and with some effort he manage loosened the cougar's paws to lift up his arms. Kyo quickly flew out of the bed once he got the chance. "I'm going to need your help to wake him up." Icewaver said as he bent down and slid his paws under the mattress. Kyo smiled as he did the same thing. "One, two, now." Icewaver said as the two threw the bed over.

They both heard a yell followed by a thud. Bron quickly stood up furious. "What the hell was that for?"

Icewaver shrugged. "Well, this is my bed at the moment and you were sleeping with pup without my permission."

Bron gave Icewaver a deep glare. "By the time your family leaves I will have that human." He said as he started to walk out of the room.

Icewaver shook his head. "I don't know who I would put up with more. Him or Angelis." He looked as Kyo quietly walked around the bed and replaced the mattress and started to place the blankets and pillow where they belong. "Pup." Icewaver said.

Kyo stopped what he was doing and looked up at the wolf. "Yes master."

Picking up the papers he set down on the table earlier. "You won't be dinning with me tonight." Kyo looked down at the floor hurt, Icewaver sees this and with the current situation he cursed at himself for not choosing his words better. "No I didn't mean it like that, father has requested that you dine with him."

Kyo looked up at the wolf. "With the Alpha, Why?"

Icewaver shrugged. "No clue, I went and talked to him about Angelis and before I left he said he would like it that you dine with him."

Kyo nodded. "Yes master."

Icewaver smiled. "Good, I'll let father know then. You'll need to go get cleaned up before you go because..." the wolf said as he stepped closer and smelled the human. "You smell like cat." He chuckled.

Kyo glared at Icewaver but soon smiled as he headed out to find the bathrooms for the slaves. Kyo walked around the palace for sometime asking furs and slaves where the baths were, but everyone told him different directions. Kyo finally found someone that would help him, so he rushed up to the human. "Hey Bud."

Bud turned around to see Kyo, he had a big grin on his face. "Hey Pup, what can I do for you?"

"Well..." Kyo felt somewhat embarrassed to ask as he was in a hurry. "Do you know where the baths are?"

Bud busted out laughing. "You serious?" Bud asked as he pointed to the door right in front of him. Kyo hung his head low from embarrassment.

"Thank you." He said quietly as he walked through the door. Kyo walked into the bathroom to find that it was pretty much the same layout as the palace back home, the only difference was that the room didn't have baskets for the slaves clothes. Kyo quickly got undressed, washed and soaped down. After fifteen minutes of cleaning Kyo managed to get back to Icewaver's room. Because he didn't bring any change of clothes with him he had to wear his old ones till he got back. Once in a new set of clothing he went down to the dining room where the king and Alpha would be dining at. He waited outside patiently till the wolf came in view, once close he bowed to the wolf.

"Evening Lord Galle." Kyo said.

He stood back up to see the wolf smiling at him. "Evening pup, you know why I asked for you to join me tonight?"

Kyo shook he head. "No sir."

The wolf nodded. "Ok, I just have information about the family I'm going to discuss and I'll like you to report them to Icewaver."

Kyo nodded, the wolf turned and entered the room followed closely by Kyo. Kyo saw the king and queen cougar on one side of the table, the Alpha's wife on the other. To his disappointment, Angelis was sitting right next to her mother. When she saw Kyo walk in with her father she gave him a snarl, but soon looked the other way.

Galle sat down on the floor next to his wife but across from the king. "Sorry for my tardiness."

The king chuckled. "Don't worry about it, I see that your pet is with you tonight." Kyo smiled as he bowed to the king. "And he has very good manners. Please," He extended his paws outward to motion Kyo to sit. "Sit and enjoy yourself."

"Thank you, your highness." Kyo said as he sat beside the Alpha.

Soon dinner was served and Kyo was surprised to have a slave place a plate in front of him. Kyo looked up at Galle with the look asking if he should eat. The wolf just nodded as he began to eat his own food. Kyo slowly ate his food as the conversations started, Kyo didn't pay much attention since the talk was mainly on politics. Then the one thing did caught his attention was from the king.

"So I've heard your family had a little quarrel last night." The cougar said.

The Alpha didn't look pleased. "Yes, I'm sorry for my families..." Galle glared at Angelis who tried her best not to look her father in the eye. "Rudeness."

"It's quiet alright." The cougar said. "But I heard it mainly was your daughter that was the one yelling."

"Yes..." He shook his head. "I thought I raised her better than that but I guess I was wrong."

The king nodded. "I know how it is, but none the less I would at least restrain her to her chambers while you're here but that's me."

"Your right." Angelis looked up at her father with sad eyes. "That is you, I would never do that." A smile came over her muzzle. "That's way too easy on her, she leaves to go back to the palace first thing in the morning."

Angelis mouth dropped open. "But father..." She tried to protest but the look he gave her made the wolf shut up instantly.

"Then when I return I will deal with the situation further." Kyo couldn't help but smile at the wolf's current punishment.

The king looked at Galle with a smile. "Damn, hate to have you as a father." He said as he took a drink from his mug.

Galle looked up at the cougar. "Shit, you think that's bad you should have seen my father in his prime."

The cougar acted like he had a shiver go up his spine. "Don't remind me, I met him once and that's good enough for me." They both laughed.

Kyo leaned forward to see Angelis pissed, but he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. 'You deserve it.' He said to himself. The furs was talked about old times for the rest of the meal. As soon as dinner was done Kyo bowed to the king and Alpha and made his was to find his master, Kyo found the wolf sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace in one of the common rooms by himself.

The human slowly walked up to the wolf. "Master." Kyo said. As he walked around front he saw the wolf had been crying.

The wolf saw Kyo and quickly turned his face away. "Shit, these damn emotions." He said as he tried to dry his fur with his arm.

Kyo walked around the front to lay down beside his master. He gently placed his head on the wolf's lap. "I have news for you master."

"What's that." The wolf asked as he moved his paw to Kyo's head.

Kyo couldn't help but smile. "Angelis leaves for home first thing tomorrow morning."

Icewaver laid his head back. "Thank Luna." He sighed with relief.

Kyo rolled over onto his back and was happy to see the wolf had a smile on his face. "Master are you going to be alright?"

The wolf looked down at him and smiled happily. "After my talk with father. yes I am. Found out that all she said were lies..." Icewaver bent down and licked the side of the humans face."Guess you were right."

Icewaver lifted the human up enough so he could lie next to him, the two just lay on the couch enjoying the heat from the fireplace and each other's company.Kyo heard soft breathing coming from behind him, when he looked back he saw the wolf was fast asleep. Kyo smiled but hate the thought that he had to wake the wolf up, he slowly pushed the wolf awake.

"Wha..?" The wolf said sleepily.

The human chuckled as he sat up. "Master, lets go to bed." The wolf yawned but managed to nod. Kyo helped the wolf off the couch and up the stairs to his room. Once they made it to the room Kyo helped get his master undressed and into bed. Once the wolf was in, Kyo took off his shirt then slipped under the covers to join the wolf. It wasn't long till the wolf had his arms around the human and pulled him closer. They both closed their eyes to fall asleep, but this time Kyo was the one who fell asleep first. Icewaver solely opened his eyes and stared at his human like before.

'How could I have been so mean to him?' The wolf thought. 'He was only trying to help me.' The wolf fought back his tears as he leaned forward and kissed the sleeping human on the lips.
