A lot has been going on since I last posted anything on this site. Back in January, I was shocked to see just how much this site has changed. I had my doubts at first, but it seems now that they've fixed a lot of the initial bugs that first came with the revamp.

As the wolf slowly awoke, he paused to take in his surroundings. He was in his bed, though he had company with him. He smiled as he recalled the events of last night- savoring the experience he shared with the two women.

Regina brushed her dreadlocks back and looked down at the sleeping rabbit. Ursa smiled at him. "Don't be like that; you don't have to be jealous." She began calmly. "I love both of you equally." She added. "It's not about gender or race... I fell in love you two for who are." She finished in a sagely tone.
The wolf shrugged his shoulder. "That's very progressive of you..." Xander replied. "Anyway, I have get going- my shift is starting soon."

Rick looked out across the casino from the observation platform. There was a sudden buzzing, prompting him to turn away. He reached into his jacket and took out a 'Persacom' (Personal Communicator) and flipped it open. "This is Rick..." He spoke calmly.
Turk's voice came forth from the device. "Mr. Henderson, we took care of the loose end- just as you requested." He explained in a level tone.
The coyote nodded. "Good... that's one less problem to worry about." He began, brushing his hand through his hair. "I'd like for both of you to stick around... There's another little problem that will likely need dealing with very soon."
Turk gave an affirmative and Rick switched off the device and put it back inside his jacket. He reached up and loosened his tie. "...Why can't anything ever be simple?"

Regina was busy looking over some maintenance reports in the commissary. She tilted back the black cup in her hand to sip the tea in, before setting it back down. The Ichthillian flipped over to the next page and continued.
She heard the footfall of someone approaching her table and set her report down. She perked up when she saw that her visitor was Ursa. The rabbit was wearing a matching dark blue jacket and skirt. She also was wearing a red vest over a lacy white dress shirt and her legs were covering in dark stockings. Her blond hair hung down loose.
Regina smiled as the rabbit pulled up a chair and sat down across from her. The reptilian woman was wearing a black sleeveless top that zipped up the front. She also had on a pair of slim black trousers tucked into a pair of boots. Her dreadlocks were held back by a red headband. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Ursa began.
Regina shook her head. "Don't worry... I'm glad for the distraction." She replied. "Are you on break right now?" She asked, receiving an affirming nod from the blond. The reptilian woman took another drink from her cup. "So what brings you by... aside from just wanting to pay me a visit?" She asked with a smile.
Ursa leaned back and hitched one leg over the other. "Actually, I was wondering if you and Xander had any particular plans for your upcoming leave." She began in a cordial tone. "Because I know of a great place... Solanis- it's a nice little resort planet in the Gerutha System." She explained. "It's a nice tropical setting with beaches and spas."
Regina smiled and nodded. "Sound interesting..." She began. "I'll talk to Xander about- though, I'm pretty sure he'd love to go." She reasoned.
The rabbit smiled again. "I was thinking about going there myself, so if the three of us can go... then that would be even better." She remarked happily.
Regina smirked and chuckled at the remark. "Things certainly have changed... A year ago I never would have even considered something like that, but now..." Her words trailed off as she recalled everything that had happened of late.
The two women looked up to see Neela walk up to the table. The raccoon adjusted her glasses. "Sorry to bother you guys, but have either of you seen Miss Holloway?" She asked. "I have some reports for her, but I can't find her... and she's not in her office."
Ursa turned to Regina then looked back to Neela. "I haven't seen her either, but I'll keep an eye out for her." She replied. "She has to be around her somewhere... so if I see her, I'll be sure to send her your way." The rabbit offered.
The technician nodded. "Yes, thank you... That would be perfect." She added simply, before giving a friendly smile and departing.

Ursa made her way down the corridor, but came to a stop when she the door to Grace's quarters was open and people were coming and going. She rushed towards the doorway, but one of the uniformed deputies intercepted her. "What's going on?!"
He let go of her shoulder and looked at her. "You can't go in there right now... this is active investigation site." He explained in a gruff tone.
The rabbit stepped back and covered her mouth. As she reached inside her jacket, she spotted Mercer standing in the doorway, looking at her with an enigmatic expression on his face. He quickly turned away and walked back inside.
Ursa took out her Persacom and frantically dialed a code into it. "Xander!" She began. "This is Ursa... Something's happened to Grace, I think she's--"

Dr. Vargas looked up as the door slid open and Xander strode in. One of the techs was trailing him, trying to get him to leave. The feline looked at the young male rabbit and smiled at him. "It's alright Tsubaki, he can come in..." She explained.
The rabbit straightened out his tie and nodded. He quickly departed, leaving the two of them alone. Vargas spoke up before Xander could say anything. "I take it from your general demeanor that you're here to ask about Miss Holloway?" She asked him in a professional tone.
"How did she die?" He asked in grim tone.
The feline continued, undaunted. "I'm a physician- my concern is with the living... And as such, death really isn't me forte." She explained. "Still, even I can see that amount of drugs in her system were what killed her."
"Drugs...?" He asked, astonished by the proclemation.
"Yes, the 'tox' results showed an extremely high level of the psychotropic drug Diatoneurotropizine- of 'Nero' as it's better known- in her system." She explained.
Xander approached her, still in disbelief. "You're telling me that she overdosed?" He asked tentatively.
Vargas looked at him again, a serious expression on her face. "Xander... I'm about to do something that goes against my oath to do no harm..." She began gravely. "I'm going to tell you something that will probably put in a lot of danger..."
She set her Data Pad down. "Grace Holloway was healthy woman, with nothing to indicate a history of drug use. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that last night was the first time she'd ever had anything like that in her body." She paused briefly.
"She had bruising to her wrists and ankles... indicating that she was restrained." She walked up along side him. Without looking at him, she continued. "Someone forcibly injected the drug into her... hoping it would look like an OD."
Xander felt a chill as he began to recall things... "Ursa said 'Rex enjoyed seeing things he wasn't meant to'." The wolf covered his mouth and he thought further. "Of course... Nero, the note, Rex's sudden disappearance... and now this!"
He turned to look at Vargas. "Why are you telling me this?" Xander asked.
"I'm just a doctor... and not a very brave one at that." She replied. "But something has to be done... and you're involved- so your only chance it move first... before whoever did this comes for you."

Anyway, I wasn't sure where to end this chapter. There's a hell of a lot going on in just this chapter, with more to come in the remaining chapters. I really hope you guys enjoyed reading this (I put a lot of work into the sexy parts!) and will stick around to see how things wrap up.
