#2 of Why am I here?
Christmas break came a lot sooner than Sam expected. It felt like yesterday when he started exams, then suddenly it's Christmas break. Where does the time go? Anyway, Sam put his bag down on the couch and flopped down to watch Breaking Bad. Over the sound of his show, he heard his father Jeff enter the room, carrying a suitcase.
Sam: Hey dad, *turns down the volume* what's with the suitcase?
Jeff: Me and your mother are going on a trip for Christmas break. You'll be staying here by yourself while we're gone.
Sam: What about Jake?
Jake: I'm going on a business trip. *comes out into the living room with a backpack and a suitcase*
Sam: *leans back on the couch* This fucking sucks. I can't be here by myself for Christmas.
Jake: Oh come on, you'll be fine. You've taken care of yourself many times before.
Sam: Yeah but that was only for a night, not a whole 2 weeks.
Jeff: You'll be fine, your mother bought plenty of food for you that'll last the whole Christmas break. *makes his way to the front door* We'll be back on new years.
Sam: Alright. *turns the volume up and sits back against the couch*
Jake: *picks up Sam and teasingly shoves his face in his recently washed armpit* I'll be back soon.
Sam: *pretends not to enjoy it* Just go. *pulls himself out of Jake's armpit*
Jake leaves for his trip. Sam gets up and watches the cars leave. Jake pauses his show and goes in the kitchen to make a snack when there's a knock at the front door.
Sam: *goes to the front door and opens it*
Cody: *hugs Sam* Merry Christmas Sam.
Sam: *hugs Cody* Merry Christmas Cody.
Sam notices that Austin is standing nervously behind Cody. Sam stops hugging Cody and walks over to Austin.
Sam: Hello there Austin.
Austin: *notices Sam* Oh, hello Sam. Merry Christmas.
Sam: *smiles* Merry Christmas. So, what are you guys doing here?
Cody: Well, I wanted to come over for a visit but Austin here wanted to tell you something.
Austin turns to Sam and asks him if he wants to be his boyfriend. Sam looks and Austin, then Cody, completely stunned and speechless.
Sam: I don't know what to say honestly.
Austin: It's okay. You have all Christmas break to think it over. *puts his hands in Sam's hands and lightly kisses Sam on the cheek, making Sam blush*
Cody looks at his phone to see the time and begins to leave.
Cody: I got to go. I'll see you 2 love birds at school. *leaves*
Sam: *waves goodbye to Cody* See you later Cody.
Austin: *he has a back pack full of clothes with him* Sam?
Sam: Hmm? *looks at Austin*
Austin: I'll be spending my Christmas break over here with you.
Sam: Wait, what about your family?
Austin: They don't mind me sleeping over with friends.
Sam and Austin go inside the house and spend the rest of the night in Sam's bedroom.
