#9 of Scales and Honor: Swirling Storm

Two years pass again for the dragon and his apprentice mage. They are out one morning doing the morning hunt when the dragon decides to go take him to see some dragons that moved in near the blue dragon's territory. Jandar meets a wrymling that might seem familiar....

Scales and Honor: Swirling Storm

Chapter 8

Ramakox watched over the boy even more closely with the realization that he was growing dragon scales on his body. He would always do it discreetly as to not arouse the teens suspicion of him. To the dragon's relief, it quickly became apparent that the boy was not withholding anything else that might make the dragon worry. He made sure to keep Jandar training the entire time, through various exercises meant to test his endurance, mental fortitude, and magical prowess. To the dragon's delight the mortal usually passed on the first try. Although the times he did fail, the human was quick to pick himself up, buckle down, and continue to work on it until he succeeded.

The blue dragon watched in pride as the next two years passed with Jandar. The human, that he thought could grow no longer surprised him as he did so yet again. Jandar's appearance did not change in the short amount of time, although he did manage to grow a thin beard and mustache. Despite the dragon telling him each time that the facial hair looked silly, the human never did once shave it. The boy would just laugh, smile and insist that he liked them, although Ramakox had a sneaking suspicion he only did it to irritate him.

Jandar had moved from his grandmother's nest, and instead stayed inside the cave with the dragon that proclaimed himself his teacher. It made the most sense after all, as the teen had spent nearly everyday heading to his lair to train. Despite the constant training, and companionship with the dragon, the teen still made sure to return home and visit his grandmother at least once a week.

Ramakox would join him with his visit into town, and bask in all the questions, praises, and good cheer that the peoples of east cliff would provide him with.

*

Ramakox now was lying down inside the cavern of his home, drumming his talons against the stone floor, filling the air with little clacks each time they struck the dark grey surface. It amazed him to no end how much the boy had grown over the years under his care and guidance. It was hard to believe the now sleeping teen had once been a scared little boy that he had plucked from his caravan and silenced his tears.

_Hes practically your son now._His mind whispered to him as he watched the boy's chest rise and fall with each breath he took. He settled his snout into his paws, his eyes drifting to the morning rays that just started to streak through the entrance to his lair, and bathing the stone in front of him in their bright golden light. Ramakox let out a yawn, stretching his jaw as wide as it could go as he blinked away the grogginess of sleep. He took a breath of the air, practically tasting the smoke from the candles they had lit last night for a ritual spell that Jandar was trying to cast. The boy had explained to him, that in theory the spell would allow them to communicate over vast distances. He had tilted his head to the side and asked the boy how he had come upon such inspiration, the curiosity nearly driving him mad as he had flicked his tail.

Jandar had only laughed and gestured to the piles and piles of multicolored tombs that the dragon had collected over the years. He had explained that one of the books in that large collection had the spell he was preforming in it. He had chuckled about how his teacher did not know _everything_that resided in his lair.

Ramakox felt his stomach rumble, feeling like wolves had begun to tear at his insides, like it was a fresh kill. He groaned softly at the reminder that he was still a growing dragon, and needed to eat just like everyone else. He was going to stand up, stretch his limbs and get ready for the hunt, but his eyes once again drifted to the still sleeping apprentice of his.Let the boy sleep. His mind said to him, causing the huge dragon to roll his eyes. He thought to how for the last few years or so he had been sharing his morning hunts with Jandar. He had started to like the boy's companionship during such time, and even grew accustomed to how the young mage had cooked the meat with some various spells and applied some spices he usually brought. He wrinkled his snout as he realized that he liked the taste of cooked meat better than it being raw. He made a mental note to never share that little bit of information with other dragons, just on the off chance they had thought his scales had gone soft.

The blue dragon slowly lifted his head when he heard a small yawn escape Jandar's mouth. He casually glanced over to find the human sitting upright, with his limbs being stretched towards the ceiling as he continued to yawn. "Have a good slumber?" the dragon spoke, his voice coarse like it typically was this early in the morning.

"Yes...No thanks to your snoring though." Jandar placed his hands on the back of his head as he offered the dragon a warm, genuine smile.

"Me? Snore?' Ramakox grumbled as his tail brushed aside a few coins with a soft jingle. "You have not expressed your concern before, I do believe you are lying."he smiled, gesturing to the human with a talon.

"You expert detective you." Jandar stood up, giving out a loud imitation of a roar as he stretched the rest of his limbs in turn.

Ramakox stifled in a laugh, as he had found the display rather adorable. "Just because you have _some_scales on your body, does not make you a dragon." he chuckled softly, arching his back and unfurling his wings wide enough to cover the human and nearly bump him on his head. "Besides...That roar was too cute to be intimidating." He snapped his gaze towards the human, who now was cackling with laughter. "What is so funny O mortal brave enough to laugh at a dragon?"

Jandar seemed unable to breath as he was clutching at his sides, face a bright crimson as he continued to cackle away. "Y-You haven't noticed have you?" the boy gasped in between his cackling laughter.

"Noticed what?" Ramakox tilted his head to the side and finally felt something snag one of his spines. _What was that?_Whatever it was, it felt soft, and roughly the same size of the red faced human before him. He reached up with a claw to grab at whatever it was, he made sure to do it gently, just in case whatever it was was fragile. _Can't be damaging my things after all._He tugged on the think lightly, finding that he could not dislodge it, as whatever it was held firm. _What?_He snarled, tugging again and stronger. He did not want to rip whatever it was, but it was getting increasingly harder to simply not rip the thing off.

"Need my help?" Jandar chuckled when Ramakox smashed his tail against his gold, scattering cups, coins, and gems every which way over the stone. The boy wiped away his tears of laughter, crossing his arms and giving the dragon a coy smirk.

"No...I...Got it." Ramakox struggled with the apparent piece of cloth, until with a satisfied snort he pulled it off and tossed it down onto the mounds of gold coins. He looked down to find that what had ensnared itself so well to his spines was a dress that seemed to be adorned with bright golden scales, that sparkled in the sun's rays. It reminded him of a dress worn by a maiden in one such fairy tale that he had read about somewhere in his vast amount of books. "What was the dress doing on my spines?" he said aloud, trying to figure out how it had happened. He usually did not keep garments and things with his coins, so they did not mix together. He snorted as the question swirled around his head, making him tap a talon against his chin several times as he sat in quiet contemplation. When he rose his head, his eyes widened, for Jandar was bolting from the cave like lightning.

Oh good, hes getting ready for the morning hunt, just waiting on my slow scales to...He did it. Ramakox rose up in a flash as the human had disappeared out of his sight. "Think it's funny to hang things from dragons?" he roared, a smile finding it's way to his snout despite it being at his expense. "Wait until I have you dressed up in this thing! The boys are going to be all over you, begging for dances and kisses! Won't be that funny than will it?" His claws scraped against the stone as he burst out of his cave and came to a complete stop before the mortal.

Jandar was standing proudly before the blue dragon, a smile on his face and his arms crossed. He looked proud of himself, gesturing out to the vast quilt of green below the dragon's mountain with a wave of his arm. "Ready for the morning hunt, Storm?" he asked calmly, as if the last few minutes had not happened at all.

Ramakox rumbled a deep laugh in the back of his throat, sounding more like a growl. "I will get you back for this you know." he lowered his snout and gave the human a great tooth filled smile. "Let's see how you like it then, oh playful mortal of mine."

"I wait with bated breath O great Swirling Storm." the teen playfully touched the dragon's nose with a laugh.

The dragon shook his body, causing his scales to clink as he crouched close to the ground for the human. "Hop on." he gestured with his neck, eyeing the human with a grin. He watched the smug look that his mortal had been giving him melt away like a candle set to flame. Jandar's eyes filled with worry as they traced along the membranes of Ramakox's great wings.

"Are...Y-you sure?" the boy stammered.

"You can do it." he said softly, his voice filling with concern as he brought his face close to the human's own. They had been working on his fear of heights over the years now, and Ramakox figured that they were almost there. One last plunge to cure the human of it. "I have watched you grow so strong over the past few years. From the crying child that could not bear to tear his sight away from my scales, to one that watches as we fly high in the sky. Please...Let this be the final moment when you cast off the shackles of your fear, and truly join me in the sky." He gestured to his back one more time, giving the human a reassuring smile. He could feel the anticipation building with each moment that the mortal contemplated getting on his back. He tried to not release too loud of a trill when the human climbed up his scales, and swung a leg around his neck.

"Just...be careful." Jandar said, the apparent fear still in his voice as he latched onto the blue dragons neck tightly.

"You will be fine." the dragon spread his wings wide as he gently stood up to his full height. "Jandar.." he turned to eye the human who was breathing nervously against his scales. He brought his neck around to offer the human an affectionate lick across his face. "I am proud of you this day." the words came easily from his maw as he flicked his tail. He imagined this was what parents of wrymlings felt when their little scaled offspring finally were able to glide on their wings beside them. Of course Jandar had no wings, so this would have to do.

"T-thanks Storm." the human smiled, not releasing his hold. However his breaths began to calm down as Ramakox returned his head to gaze out to the bright countryside below.

The blue dragon gave his wings a mighty test flap, scattering any loose dirt on the ground . He waggled his haunches and flicked his tail as he was about to leap into the air, the feelings joy already starting to settle into his bones. He prepared himself to pounce with a flap of his wings, but held himself back with his next breath. "Are you ready?"he asked calmly to the human.

"Mmhmm." the human nodded.

"Then hold on tight!" he replied after a pleased rumble escaped his throat. He bounded into the air with a mighty leap and pounding his great wings on the air. With each passing moment they traded the dull earth for the majesty that was the soft blue sky above. He continued to carry them into the air with the human clutching onto his neck for dear life. He only brought them a fraction of the altitude that he usually flew. The inner voice of his head reminding him that his companion was not as fond of flying as he was. He instead spread his wings and let the current carry them gently over the treetops around their home.

Ramakox basked in the warm rays of the sun that shone brightly on his blue scales, his eyes started to scan the forest for his potential meal. "So..How is it?" he asked after several quiet minutes of gliding.

"I...It's better than I would have thought." the boy stammered, his eyes clearly open and looking passed the dragon's scales to the vast green quilt that was quickly passing below the dragon's wings. "S-so whats on the menu for breakfast?" Jandar asked, obviously trying to take his mind off the ground that must have seemed miles away to him.

Ramakox made sure to keep his flight steady, and help the human maintain his calm attitude about the flight. He felt a warm feeling in his heart at the boys bravery, that radiated out to his limbs and made him feel all fuzzy. His eyes found a collection of deer that were gathered in one of the many clearings in the forest. "I was thinking that deer would make a fine meal this morning." he wiped his snout with a single pass of his pink tongue, already tasting his future meal. "Did you bring the pepper?"

"You would think that I would forget that the great and mighty Swirling Storm likes his morning meals cooked and dashed with pepper?"

"Shh..Don't go blabbing it so loudly." the dragon grumbled, quickly approaching the collection of unaware creatures. He angled his wings carefully so that he could circle around a tree that jutted out from the tree line. His eyes went to a stag that stood above the rest of it's kin, well muscled and looked to have a good amount of meat on it's bones. Ramakox readied his claws as he started to descend towards the unaware beast.

"Why not? Are you ashamed to eat in such a way?"

Ramakox breathed deeply, his next breath filled with anticipation as he neared the stag. "Not..per say..but it is a tad embarrassing to_prefer_ to eat it as such...It...Seems less dragon like."

"Well...I don't think of you any less Storm. Enjoy your food how you like it."

"See...thats why I tolerate your presence." he playfully rumbled as he slashed out at the stag with his razor sharp talons. The creature tried to bolt away from his attack but it was no use, the dragon was simply too quick. His talons ripped into the creatures hide, easily gliding through and painting the ground below it a bright shade of crimson.

"You got him!" Jandar cheered out as the dragon settled down onto the forest floor with a quick back-wing to cushion his descent.

Ramakox made his way over to where his prey had fallen over. Blood was soaked into the stag's fur as it struggled and gasped for breath. He ignored the rest of the herd as they fled from him in terror. He swiftly brought his snout down to the thing's neck, and with a quick clamping of his jaws he ended the stag's life. There was no reason for it to suffer in pain after all. "You act as though this was a big deal, and we don't do it every morning." he grumbled before picking the stag up with his jaws and dragging him away. He set the thing down underneath a tree, settling softly down onto all his paws as the mortal began to construct a fire pit of stones and wood. Ramakox took one of his talons and quickly cleaned the creature's body, slicing away sections he did not enjoy, or thing's that Jandar would have a hard time eating. Each part he set down onto a tan blanket that the boy had placed down for him, although after a few placements of organs onto the thing it was covered in red gore.

"So what spells do you have in mind for today?" Jandar asked after several minutes, smiling as red-orange flame sprung forth to engulf the twigs he had gathered.

Ramakox speared one of the creatures organs, bringing it slowly towards the fire to cook it. He let the human spear it on a stick instead and place it above the fire to be roasted. He thought to the myriad of spells that he had taught the boy over the years, from the spell counter, to lightning bolt, to firebolt, invisibility, and others. With a low grumble he flicked his tail against the ground and thought to a family of dragons that had flown close to his territory almost two years back. They had been a mated pair, and taken a cave just on the outskirts of the area he had declared as his territory. There was a red dragon by the name of Munaranax, who was rather full of himself at times, but had a good sense of humor. He acted stern most of the time however, but when he ever talked about his wrymling he was always excited and beside himself. Than there was his mate, a female black dragon by the name of Asdreea. She was always the most cheerful of the two, optimistic, and always would come back to her cave with something cute and fluffy to keep as a pet.

"I was thinking of seeing Munaranax and his mate Asdreea." he rumbled, spearing another of the stag's organs and letting Jandar do the exact same thing that he had done to the first.

"Finally I get to meet them." Jandar crossed his arms. "You have _never_taken me to see them. Despite me living with you now."

Ramakox wrinkled his snout. That part was true, and he felt a tad guilty about it. He kneaded the ground uncomfortably as the teen continued to stare at him in silence. "Okay...I already feel bad about it." he looked away as the human grinned. "That's why I am bringing you to meet them...besides they also had a wrymling that I thought you would want to meet."

"Another dragon!" Jandar clasped his hands together in excitement. "It's like you want _all_my friends to be dragons."

"Would that be so bad?" Ramakox smirked.

"Well..what is the dragon's name?"

"I.." Ramakox shut his snout as he realized he did not know the little dragon's name. "That will be something we have to find out." he smiled. "Think of it as a conversation starter."

"Wonderful." Jandar laughed, pulling back the meat after it was browned and appeared to be well cooked. "Here you are." he pulled out a little black vial and dashed some black pepper onto the meat. "Just how you like it Storm."

"Why thank you Jandar. Who knew you were ever the talented cook?"

"What can I say, just many of the talents you have taught me. Who knew you were trying to turn me into your personal cook instead of a brave adventurer to spread your good word?"

The dragon took hold of the cooked meat and quickly popped into his mouth, savoring the delightful taste hinted with the right amount of spice. "Lets not suddenly change focus." he rumbled, finishing off the meat with a gulp. He continued on with the pattern of skewering the meat and letting Jandar cook it. He and the lad would trade off on what pieces of the stag they would eat, he even separated some choice meats and gave them to the teen. _Just like a father or mother would do for their wrymling._He finished off the last of the meal with a series of slurps across his snout. "There..That hits the spot." he rumbled, feeling the hunger fade away. "And...A good cook you may be, but it would be ill planned of me to hog you all to myself."

"Your all heart at times Storm." the teen chuckled. "Would you mind?" he gestured to the flames, "Can't just leave this here after all."

The boy was right of course, many different things could happen, with burning down the forest being just one of them. "I of course can do that." he twirled one of his talons, picturing water springing forth to put out the flames. He tried to not act too pleased when a small blackened cloud appeared above the fire and started raining liquid onto the flames until they were replaced by plumes of black smoke. He rose up, gazing out to the blue sky, dotted with white fluffy clouds that seemed to float lazily in the air. He gave a pleased snort as he lowered himself and gestured to his back once more. "Ready to go meet a wrymling?" He unfurled his wings wide when he felt the human once more settle himself onto his back.

"I am always in the mood to meet new dragons." the human patted his scales softly before grabbing his neck tightly once more.

"Still not over the fear yet?" the dragon gave his wings a test flap, wiggling his tail once more over the grass.

"N-no." the human smiled through his fear. "Although...the flying was not that bad from before...I think I could get used to it.

Ramakox gave him a pleased croon.

"After some more flying of course." he laughed. "You are quite happy today aren't you."

"It's not everyday that your son gets to fly high into the sky with you."

"Your what?" the human tilted his head to the side.

"Apprentice! M..My apprentice!" he quickly replied, hoping the human had not heard him. _Would that have been that bad?_His mind whispered, but he shook the thought away when he pounced into the air. His wings carried them quickly towards the directions of the other dragon's cave, and when Jandar let go of his neck and let out a loud cry of joy, Ramakox thought he could not feel happier.

*

Ramakox carried them for hours aloft in the sky with the breeze brushing them gently along. He had his wings spread wide to glide most of the way there, like a leaf gently floating across the air. He gazed out to the large spans of vibrant greens, broken apart by patches of brown earth or cerulean rivers. The landscape eventually started to rise and fall instead of remaining flat like it had done, then from the ground seemed to come tors. The large stone slabs jutting out across the landscape like jagged dragon teeth. He took a deep breath into his lungs and felt his scales shiver at the delightful salty smell of the ocean. He had not been their recently but he had always loved that place. He delighted in the feeling of the waves flicking at his scales while the sounds of the tide nearly lulled him to sleep. If he ever had to move his lair to anywhere else, he had decided long ago that it would be off a coast somewhere overlooking the ocean.

The dragon peaked back occasionally during the flight to keep an eye on the human, just to be sure that he was not pissing his pants in fear or anything. Although each time he did so, he was filled with the same warm feeling of pride that he had felt earlier in the day when the human had made the decision to join him in the sky, riding on his back. The human who had once been terrified of the sky was now sitting upright with a smile, and he thought several times he caught the human spreading his arms wide and pretending to have wings of his own. He returned his attention to the countryside below, the mountain where his dragon friends resided quickly coming into view. He could make out the darkened earth stone, that was covered in a vast forest of many different colors. He chuckled at the memory of him finding a blue tree in that forest. Assdreea had been one to point out the tree belonged to a dryad. Which was a kind of fae that lived inside of trees, and it was she that wanted the tree to be that color. The dragon had just shrugged it off at the time, and told his friend that the dryad had a good taste when it came to picking colors.

"How are you doing back there." Ramakox asked as he angled his wings and started to lower himself and turn towards the mountain.

"Doing fine." Jandar answered, running a hand along the dragon's smooth scales. "Just excited to meet the wrymling is all."

"See I knew you would like it. You were born to befriend dragon's Jandar." he chuckled in the back of his throat as he could make out herds of various wood-land creatures darting their way through the forest.

"Only because the dragon that is my teacher insists on that being the case." the human replied, shutting his mouth and growing silent after the next couple of minutes.

Ramakox had to peak back towards him the next time he entered a glide, curiosity lingering in his mind. He saw that the human did not look afraid, but he was hanging his head and looking to the back of Ramakox's scales very intently. "What is the matter boy?' he asked softly with a grin. "Do my scales have a blemish or something that needs cleaning? Or is it that you are simply awestruck by my scales? You would not be the first mortal to stand transfixed by my armor." he held one of his paws to his chest.

"N-no..It's not that." the boy said. "It's just...I was just reminded of when I first got my powers..and I first met you."

Ramakox wrinkled his snout, remembering the unpleasantness of their meeting. The parents he had lost that day. "What about them Jandar? They have been quite some time ago for you now."

"Well its not just about them...next year I will be heading out there." the boy gestured to the countryside with a wave of his hand. "Out into the world....adventure...the beginning."

"Yes...to have stories of your own! Tales to be sung about your kind and benevolent teacher! The great swirling storm!"

"Yea.." Jandar said almost in a whisper with a frown on his face.

"You do not look pleased to be spreading my name to the numerous amount of people that will be singing your praised Jandar."

"Its...just..." The teen looked away into the vast sky, and Ramakox saw him sigh. "I'm....going to miss you."

Oh...that was unexpected..."It's only to be expected Jandar, we have certainly spent a lot of time together. We must have grown on the other, and it will certainly feel odd not having your around the cave to get caught under foot all the time."

"Hey I never got caught under foot." the teen chuckled, his frown slowly turning into a small smile.

"Jandar..You're going to go out into the world and do great things. Wondrous things." The dragon back-winged to slow their descent and landed a fair distance from the cave of his friends with a soft bump. He lowered himself close to the ground, and Jandar leaped off of his back to the ground. "You are going to have grand adventures...Meet friends to share those time with...And make me proud." he lowered his snout and gave the human another affectionate lick that had him laughing, and pushing away the dragon's nose.

"Hey...You're going to embarrass me in front of the other dragons. They are going to think you adopted me or something."

"Adopt a human?" he laughed, backing his snout away. "I have certainly heard crazier things in my time..For instance there was once this story about the dragon Tondrynth. He actually took a human _male_as his mate." the dragon chuckled," Can you believe the craziness about it?"

"The male bit?" Jandar asked, stretching his limbs out wide.

"No...the dragon bit is all."Mortals are find to befriend and other things, but do _that?"_Ramakox wrinkled his snout and stuck out a tongue. "Disgusting."

"Well it's a good thing I am not trying to win your affections that way then." Jandar laughed. "Or else I would be really discouraged!"

"Yes, yes." Ramakox snorted, and started to guide him towards the cave with his tail. "Enough talk about taking mortals as mates and focus on making a good impression with the dragons and their wyrmling. I have told them good things about you, and there is only once for a first impression." He looked up to the cave, a slight hint of worry starting to creep his way into his mind. _Why should you be worried? The boy is very good at casting magic...Will be out in no time to spread my name...It's because his performance reflects on you._His mind whispered to him, making him narrow his eyes and snort angrily at his thoughts.

"I will do fine Storm." the boy playfully punched his scales. "You trained me well, so you don't have to worry your scales about it, you can stop your trembling as you walk."

I was trembling?"I was certainly not trembling." Ramakox looked away from the grinning boy as he flicked his tail. "I was in contemplation on how to explain you bad manners to the dragons when you meet them. I was trying to think of what excuses to make for you."

"You're a worse liar than I am Storm." The boy thrust a finger towards his nose. "I saw the way you twitched when you walk, and you only do that when your nervous. You do the same thing whenever you are trying to hide your eyes from inspecting my scales."

"How did you know I did that?" Ramakox snapped his snout down, stopping mid stride to glare at the human. "I thought I was most careful in my insistence to remain discrete."

"Discrete?" Pffffft." the human waved dismissively at him. "I have seen some cattle that were more discrete than you at peeking at me." The teen held up his hands to mime a wall, and poked his head out from behind them. "Kind of hard to miss your massive blue head peeking out every few hours to get a good look at me. If it were not for that comment you just made, and the fact I have known you for years...People might get the idea that you were checking me out." Jandar laughed. "To make me your mate as it were...Heck considering with the scales, it does not help the matter!"

"Speaking of the scales." Ramakox tilted his head to the side. "Have they spread any further?"

"Uh....Yes...but only a little..." Jandar's face started to turn a light shade of red when Ramakox stopped to glare at him again with narrowed eyes.

"What did I say about telling me?"

"I...I was meaning to.." the teen rubbed the back of his neck, his sleeve falling slightly down to reveal the blue scales that had at least doubled since he last looked.

"Has their been anything else with your transformation?" Ramakox brought his snout closer, his eyes practically touching the scales on the boys arm. What else will I be responsible for?

"I'm...sorry." Jandar looked away. "It..just slipped my mind is all."

"How can something this important slip your mind?" Ramakox gently placed a talon underneath the human's chin and softly maneuvered him to look at his snout.

"It..just did alright? Its especially harder to remember them when they are not doing anything to harm me. I rather like the scales."

"Jandar..what if they spread to the rest of your body? What if you grow a tail from your backside? Your talons grow sharp? What if what you think is human is ripped away from you?" He let his words linger in the air, and he watched the human think it over for a moment or two, fidgeting as he did so.

"Storm...I don't care what happens...I would be happy with me..." He smiled, and ran a hand along the dragon's pebbly face. "You can stop worrying about me."

"I'm just worried you might draw the attraction for any anti-dragon dragon group that wanders the world." The dragon flicked his tail, nuzzling the human softly. "Then who would spread my good name?"

"I think I would have drawn attention anyway. Considering I will be telling all the people I meet and save, that they have the mighty blue dragon Swirling Storm to thank."

"Much less attention then if you are sporting your own blue scales I think." The dragon pulled his neck back into the shape of an S as his gaze shifted to the cave once again. He took a deep breath in the air, finding the air smelled like dragon, mixed with the smell of an autumn breeze. "We should probably make ourselves known to them, they can probably smell us from here."

"PEOPLE!" came a loud shout from the cave. Not even a second after the words had graced their ears did a small black wrymling come bounding out of the cave with it's head held high. Ramakox could tell it was a female as he spied her longer spines lining her neck and spine as she came to a stop. He watched the curious wrymling stand there with her emerald eyes, her tail flicking behind her. "Who are you?" Shouted the wrymling as she spread out her wings wide to appear bigger then she was, and puffed out her dark grey scale clad chest. Her wing membranes caught his eyes, for they were just like her mothers, and looked like the vast night sky on a clear night.

"I am Jandar!" the human yelled out, "and this is the Swirling Storm!"

"Ramakox!" The wrymling shouted out when her eyes fell to the blue dragon. She quickly bounded over the grass quick as she could towards them with a smile on her little snout.

Ramakox looked up to see the form of her parents casually striding out from the cave with big yawns. It looked like they had just gotten up, and had chosen to rest the morning away in their cave. "Well hello there little one." he lowered his snout to nose the black wrymling gently, causing her to roll over and laugh. "It has been quite some time since we first met."

"Over a year!" she exclaimed with a giggle, turning her snout towards Jandar, who had crouched low to look at her. "Who is he." she wrinkled her snout slightly, eyeing the human with suspicion.

"This is Jandar, as he explained little one. You can trust him just like he was my own wrymling. I figured he would like to come meet you and make another friend." He watched as Jandar held out his hand, and the little wyrmling sniff at his hand before licking it softly.

"Hi" the human gave her a warm smile. "I am Jandar."

"I heard him silly." She righted herself to all fours, and started to nuzzle the human like he was a good friend. "My name is Infinity."
