I got to the precinct, a little early, nothing new. During roll call, Chief Bogo assigned me and Nick to relieve Michael and John. We found John at the printer, where I said, "Hay John, whats going on? Chief Bogo, assigned us to help your assignment"
John answered, "Hi Judy, at about 3 am we found a dead vixen. The detectives are investigating the scene. Finally we are trying to find next of kin."
Than Michael came from behind and nodded politely, "Officer Hopps Officer Wilde, I just received word you'll be taking the case. Other than that, I found information on that Grey Fox Vixen. Her name is Jessica Grayton, she has no spouse, but we found the list of her children, all 37 of them."
Nick looking at the first page of the list said, "gees 37, that's over 10 litters. I guess she enjoys popping them out, or thought she was a rabbit. Other than that she must have been a busy mother."
I looked at the list, seemed most of the mammals didn't share her last name. I thought it was odd, but again so is 37 children. Nick and I got to the desk to start calling, while John and Michael went home.
Most of the mammals, seemed either not to know who she was or seemed not to care. Reading through the list I found Bradon Grayton, I felt sad for him, his mother just died. I thought of telling Nick, but wanted to avoid any of Nick's jocks. I also decided instead of calling him, it might be better to tell him in person.
After finishing my list I decided to ask, "Nick, you want to go get some coffee?"
Nick answered, "well, we are almost done, and we can't do anything else until the detectives are done with their investigation. Sure, some coffee sounds nice."
While getting I wondered how to get to the Filing Department, without Nick noticing. When. We got to our table, and started talking mostly teasing. Suddenly, Nick received a call, Nick answered after a minute he hung up.
Nick looked at me and said, "well that was Clawhauser, the detectives are done with the investigation. It looks like it was a drug over dose. I will get back to the station to read the reports."
I answered back, "good, I'll go to the Filing Department to hand over the paper work." While hoping Nick doesn't relieve it would be much easier to do it online, luckily Nick doesn't really do much of the paperwork.
As we part ways, I went to the Filing Department. Luckily, I've been here enough, where I just head straight to Bradon's office. I knocked on his office, when he told me to come in. He looked at my face, he could tell something was up.
I said, "Bradon I'm sorry to say this but your mother has passed away."
He looked as me with sadness and answered, "does Nick know about this. How is he taking it?"
I answered, "well I'm surprised he hasn't noticed you mom's name. Other than that, he's concerned about making sure your siblings know."
