It was a cool night in mid-January, the clear, crisp air ringing with the sound of mirth and joy. The city was always alive, and tonight was certainly no different. Though it seemed there was one extra fur joining the streets tonight. Her name was Stella, a rather unique creature. She was a hybrid of a panda and some form of canine, her fur being red with soft white undertones. The pads of her footpaws were a deep purple shade, matching the end of her long hair. The beginning of her hair was black as night, with a flower or two strewn throughout it. She wore a pink harness around her midsection, and it was something that she treasured dearly. Though most couldn't see it, as it was hidden beneath an elegant sapphire dress that perfectly complimented her fur tone.

She was making her way not to a bar or a traditional club like the rest of the girls were, but rather a more prestigious jazz club. She, unlike most people, did not care for the tireless sex and loud music, random grinding and other such nonsense. Instead, she walked into the jazz club, the soft and peaceful music ringing in her ears, much to her pleasure. Jazz music told a story, unlike the popular rap stuff those other furs were listening to. She made her way to a table in the corner, enjoying the solitude and music.

The performer currently on the stage was a black wolf, impeccably dressed in a suit and tie. He was playing the violin, his fingers working over the strings and bow like magic. He had seen the strange female enter alone and then sit by herself, but already he was enthralled by both her beauty and the air about her. He finished his song, making sure it was the best he ever played, and then he decided to make his way over to her table. He flashed her a charming smile, trying his best to appear suitable. "Hello my dear, welcome to The Smooth Fur. I am Velkan, one of the performers here. May I ask the name of such a lovely woman?"

Stella had not been expecting anyone to take notice of her, given how quiet she was. So she was a bit surprised at the big wolf's appearance. "I suppose that you may. I am Stella, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr. Velkan." He chuckles softly and takes her hand, kissing the back of it in a most chivalrous fashion. "Oh no Ms. Stella, the pleasure is all mine. I've been working here for a very long time but never before have I met a creature who's beauty even nears your radiance. Though I do hope it is not Mrs...?" He asks, though the lack of a ring seemed to do the answering for him.

"No, I am not taken by anyone. But I am also not looking for anyone, and if this is some ploy to try and get me into your bed, I highly recommend that you look elsewhere." While she may have been small in form, it was clear she could fight if need be. Velkan let out a soft laugh, one deep and rich in tone that seemed to reverberate in her skull. "That was not at all my intention. I came here to get to know you, I am a gentleman I can assure you." He smiled once again, the panda-canine easing up slightly.

"May I play a song for you Stella? I can play quietly enough that only you would hear it, and I can promise it would be a special song." She thinks about it for a moment, before nodding and crossing her arms. "I will be holding you to that. It had better be the most special song I've ever heard." He chuckles once again, and he pulls out the violin once more. Placing the bow to the strings, he begins a gentle melody. After a few chords it was easy to tell he was playing a slow, romantic version of Mariah Catty's "We Belong Together," and he even began to softly sing the lyrics in time with his playing.

The entire time he was playing, Stella had been blushing. She was not used to receiving such attention, and no man had ever been this sweet to her. Lucky for her the fur of her cheeks hid the blush, but Velkan could tell she was flustered to some extent. "Well? Was it as special as I made it sound?" She took a few moments to answer, but she finally responded with, "Yes, I do think it was. How long did it take you to perfect that tempo? It is normally a rather quick song, is it not?"

He smiles, glad someone had noticed and appreciated his hard work. "It took me about two months, but it was well worth it. Now that I have given you a special song, may I treat you to a lovely dinner date? I promise that sex is expected at no time during this encounter, and I shall make no moves to touch you unless you tell me that I may."

She hesitates yet again, but she finally gives a small nod. "Very well. I'll give this a try. But I'm warning you now, I have standards. If you don't live up to them then a second date is out of the question." Velkan nods, and he holds his hand out. She takes it, and he smiles as he walks them out to the street and down towards the more luxurious side of town. After roughly fifteen minutes of leisurely chatting and walking, they arrive outside of a rather fancy Italian restaurant. Stella's eyes widen a bit. "I have heard of this place. Isn't it a bit... Pricey, for a first date Velkan?"

"You did say I had to impress and live up to your standards, so I thought I would go big right off the bat. I do hope you enjoy this Stella." He then pulls her inside, taking them to a booth for two. The waiter came by, and Stella opted for a glass of sweet red wine while Velkan got water. "Order whatever you like Stella, I will be covering the check." She looks at the menu, and she eventually settled on the Chicken Parmigiana, something not too costly but not too cheap either. Velkan got Steak Alfredo, and as they waited for the food they decided to chat.

"So Ms. Stella, tell me a little bit about yourself. You are by far the most complex girl I have ever had the pleasure of courting." He says with a soft chuckle as he takes a sip of his water. She sighs softly and sips on her wine before speaking. "I am quite hard to woo, even just making friends has always been difficult for me because many often find me to be unapproachable. But those who stick around long enough or who are intelligent enough to understand me find that I can be more loyal than anything else. I've heard the trait is desirable, but I don't let many get close."

Velkan was paying full attention, soaking in every detail of her beauty with his eyes while his ears partook of the silky sound that was her voice. His tail wagged a bit behind him, just barely audible enough for Stella to hear. She cracked a small smile, much to Velkan's delight. "Aha! I managed to break through the first barrier!" She blushed profusely at this, forcing the smile to leave. "I-I have no idea what you mean."

The amble chatter continued for a good fifteen minutes, and finally their food arrived. The talking lessened very much as they both ate, though there was still the odd comment from Velkan about Stella's grace, each causing her to blush more. Never had she been so thankful for her red fur. She was complimented often, but never so eloquently. Soon, the food was gone. Velkan paid for the check as he promised, and he and Stella then left the restaurant. "May I escort you home Stella? The streets aren't any place for anybody to walk alone at this hour." She thinks for a moment, but soon nods. "I agree. You never can know what unsavory types may be lurking about."

Velkan holds his hand out, wondering if she would actually take it. Surprising both of them, she hooked her arm around his, and she began to walk back in the direction of her house. Once again, small talk ensued, lasting the entire thirty minute walk back to her home on the outskirts of town. It was a modest home, cream colored with a cozy feel. She took her keys out, unlocking the door and turning back to Velkan. "Well... Thank you for this evening Velkan. It was much more fun than I had been anticipating." He smiles and bows dramatically. "Anytime my fair lady. Does this mean I may have a shot at a second date with you?"

She smiles softly, and she gives him a quick peck on the lips. "Maybe you did, maybe you didn't." And with those last few words she entered her house, Velkan now being the blushing one. He slipped his hands into his pockets, but he felt some paper in his left one. Taking it out, he realized she had given him her number. Restraining himself from whooping loudly, he began walking back to his house, already planning out his next amazing date idea.
