Love and Pain: Prologue Is there life on other planets? That was a question that humans always were trying to answer. For over a thousand years there were sightings of UFOs but no evidence to prove that they were real of just a figment of the imagination influenced by a substance of some kind. Finally after a thousand years of searching earth made contact with an alien race. But the race was in danger the needed a new planet to go to. The Earth's governments were not very trusting but finally allowed them to stay on Earth. The aliens called themselves furs because they looked like the animal of earth only with human traits such as walking on two legs instead of four. They were physically superior to human in every way and that a lot of humans scared. What they didn't know was that a fur was harmless unless threatened or provoked. Many years later a plague broke out on a global scale. The furs were immune to it and took upon themselves to cure the humans as a way of showing thanks for letting them life on earth. They succeeded and the human race was saved. But the governments started to blame the furs for starting the plague and eventually war broke out. The furs agreed to surrender not wanting to cause any more damage to an already strained relationship. The humans enslaved the furs. There were laws put in place so that abuse wouldn't happen but they were hardly enforced. This went on for ninety years. Eventually the government got sick of slavery and abolished it. The only exception was if a fur was convicted of a crime or had to pay off a financial debt. The canine packs for example live by a code of honor that stated if a human saves a canine's life that canine is in that human's debt and must serve the human until the debt is paid, Failure to do so will result in banishment from the pack and possibly death. Little did Kiyo know that when he saved a certain wolf dog he would become her master?

Chapter 1

Kiyo was on his way home from school to start his summer vacation. He was going camping in the forest for a week. He owned a cabin in the woods which he used when he didn't want to deal city life even though he enjoyed it. He was a college junior going on senior and was nineteen years old. He already packed so all he had to do was head straight up to the cabin. Once he was UN packed he heard a loud yelp. Curiosity got the best of him and he went to find were the sound came from. "If dad saw me doing he'd tear me apart. Meanwhile Sakura was on her routine nature hike the young canine just move to the area and was trying to get familiar with what she didn't know was that a poacher set a pit fall trap in the path she was walking on. Figure with slight muscle mass but she was also half husky which meant she was bigger, faster and stronger, than most members of either species. She was also feared and hated by her pack so she moved to the city but it was the same there humans and other furs wanted nothing to do with her. Even her own mother and father wished she didn't exist. She snapped out of her daydreaming when the ground gave way under her feet. She fell a good fifteen feet and hit the ground with a crash and a loud yelp. It took her two second to figure out what happened. "Pit fall trap?" she thought as she tried to climb out but to no avail and just about to give up when she heard a set of footsteps near the top. Kiyo had reached the source of the sound and found it was a trap. He looked down and saw a not too happy canine fur staring up at him. He could tell it was a female by the cloths she was wearing. He also noticed that her shirt was ever so slightly that it showed part of bare her chest which only confirmed his assumption. She snarled at showing her teeth and growled very loudly in an attempt to scare him off. Kiyo saw right through her bluff and knew that she could not reach him. But he couldn't just leave hear there to die. So he tried to negotiate" If you promise not to attack I will get you out". "For all I know you're the one who set the trap" she shot back. "If I did then why would I be trying to help you get out of it?" he countered. She had admit that what he said was true even though she didn't like the idea of a human touching her or anyone for that matter but he was her only chance to get out of the trap. "I won't harm you she said with her ears pointed back in agitation. True to his word Kiyo got an old log and pushed it down into the pit. Sakura climbed up the log out of the pit. "Thanks she said quietly." No problem Kiyo said calmly. Now that she was standing in front of him he got a good look at her she was a good two feet taller than him. He was only 5ft 8in and she was 7ft 9in. Sakura was surprised that he didn't run away after she got this close. "Aren't you afraid of me she asked" "No" Kiyo said. "Well you should be I'm a wolf dog part husky and timber wolf and on top of that I am a fur you should hate me "she said with tears forming in her eyes. "I don't hate you and I don't care about what you are." Kiyo replied. Sakura was speechless she could tell by looking at him that he was telling the truth. "My name is Kiyo by the way "he said while holding out his hand. "Sakura" she said while she shook his hand. "Well Sakura I don't know about you but I think you and I are going to be good friends." Kiyo said with a smile. Sakura couldn't help but smile. Maybe he could be my friend." she thought hopefully. To be continued.......
