Prologue

It was a miracle that Sho didn't have more of a wedgie.

The silver furred rabbit grimaced at his reflection, plucking at the elastic material conforming so completely to his backside. Sho sighed, crossing his arms in front of his chest and making himself focus on what he actually liked about the outfit. In many ways, it exceeded his expectations, but there was a drawback for every perk. The rabbit grimaced. Twisting again to glance at his rump, he decided that wasn't the best choice of words.

It was a triple-reinforced compression suit from a custom manufacturer he had found online, one that would print anything you wanted on your clothes, and he'd had the suit dyed a deep blue with a subtly shaded hexagon mesh pattern. The pattern continued over the pale blue underbelly and the big, white lightning bolts that curled over Sho's shoulders and around his waist. Six of them all together, they all pointed toward his abdomen and the small of his back. He frowned a little at those. They were wider than he had imagined when he'd sent in the concept design, but it really wasn't off by very much.

From the waist up, the suit was magnificent. He refused to call it a compression onesie, no matter how it was advertised. Just because he'd ordered from the children's section of their website... But no, he wouldn't dwell on that, no matter how much it chafed that companies were still measuring everything off of human statures without considering anthro customers. His mom would have thrown a fit if she'd known.

From the waist up, it was almost perfect. It hugged itself to his skin so much, he actually looked skinnier with it on than he did with it off, even though he kept his fur trimmed short to prevent too much shedding. The blue material conformed to every muscle in his arms and chest perfectly, and even though those muscles weren't much to speak of, just being able to actually see them for once sent a thrill through the rabbit. And his abs. He had abs! Only when he flexed, but he would have had to nearly shave the fur on his belly to be able to make them out so clearly, otherwise. Even relaxed, the slope of his abdomen narrowed in a trim, satisfying V the lower it went, and the gloss spray treatment he had used on the outfit made a metallic gleam where his skinny belly met the top of one of his thighs. He hadn't been able to afford a true latex weave suit, but that gave it a similar visual effect.

Then there were the rabbit's hips. Sho sighed. There was nothing he could do about it; compress them all he wanted, his hips still tapered out from his waist dramatically. If anything, the compression suit just enhanced the steady curves that led down to his thighs. The rabbit's legs were well muscled, stronger by far than his upper half, but they looked as soft and feminine under the blue fabric as when he was in his underwear, not at all ripped and masculine, like he'd been hoping. He wasn't sure how he'd thought the suit would change that, but he was disappointed, all the same. The lower set of lightning bolts only made it worse, curving down over his upper hips at the sides with the tips pointing at angles up toward his spine and belly button.

With a long zipper down the back, the outfit was of a single piece, and it even covered his oversized feet, a pair of big, rabbit toe socks sewn into the leggings. That had been a pleasant surprise, at least. He'd never worn anything on his feet before, and he hadn't been sure how comfortable it would be, but the compression suit fit like a second skin, just like everywhere else, and the grippy treads on the bottom of those socks should give him just as much traction as he had barefoot.

After inspecting his feet one last time, his eyes went back up to his crotch.

Oh, it didn't outline his balls and sheath, not really. Instead, it squished his bits up against his groin so firmly, his ball sack only made a subtle mound, with his flattened sheath forming an even less distinct one above. It was more than they ever showed in superhero movies, but unless someone was really paying attention, they could all too easily mistake his groin for a girl's. His sack was fluffy enough naked to offer some padding, and while that made things a little more comfortable, the lower slope of the suit's belly looked like it ended in a female rabbit's pale blue covered camel toe. Added to the rest of his body's shape, it was enough to make his ears blush. He couldn't let anyone he knew see him wearing that suit, that was for sure. But that was the whole point of it, wasn't it?

Grimacing, he turned to the side and looked himself over in profile, his feathery white leaf of a tail wiggling cutely out in the open. He wished he could make himself stop doing that, but it was beyond his control. He could have ordered a suit without an opening for his tail, but that would have just been way too uncomfortable. Enough rabbits had white tails. It wouldn't give him away.

Enough rabbits, male and female, had a similar build as Sho, too, but he really, really wished his butt wasn't on such prominent display. That was another thing that superhero movies and comics always managed to gloss over. Humans didn't have very big bottoms to begin with, at least not the men, but even female superheroes always seemed decently covered. The modern ones did, anyway. On the rabbit's rump, though... The way the suit fitted him, he was one good wedgie shy of being practically naked. He plucked again at the fabric stretched taut over his rear crease with a disgruntled huff. It hugged so tightly around his rump's curves, a part of him was surprised it wasn't stretched to translucence. At least the material stretched down to the backs of his thighs without bunching up in the crease between upper thigh and buttock, the way his boxer briefs did.

Sho flexed his legs, and grimaced. Yeah. Unless he did that. His butt perked right out, a clenching bubble, and the gloss spray he'd used made the blue mesh pattern gleam over the subtle, round depressions in the sides of his rump until he relaxed again. Shifting his weight from foot to foot only made things worse, and it didn't help that the paler blue fabric over his belly crept between his thighs and made a near heart shape over his inner butt cheeks. That was almost more than he could stand. But then, that, too, was the point. He'd designed the costume's colors that way on purpose, and even when he had submitted the pattern, he'd known exactly how little he'd like wearing it.

Frowning, he faced the mirror again and tried not to think about his butt. There was nothing he could do about that, but he really may have gone a little overboard in designing a suit that everyone would know he wouldn't be caught dead wearing. Maybe he could get a cape. That would help a little.

For now, though, he went up on his toes and plucked up the lagomorph mask he'd set on his bedroom dresser, staring down at it critically. This he had needed to special order from a completely different website, one that had had him blushing the entire time he browsed it. The hood had long socks for his ears and when he eventually started putting it on, those were the trickiest parts, and the least comfortable. They were necessary, though. A fluffy white tail might not distinguish one rabbit from another, but Sho was proud of the pale gray fur patterned in splashed markings up and down his body, over the otherwise pure white fluff. He put enough conditioner in his pelt to make it gleam, and the silver patterns on his ears were like fingerprints. Knowing that was the only thing that made the weird ear socks tolerable.

Eventually he got the mask on, tucking the neck of it down into his collar, and he was actually happy with the result. The blue shades and hexagon mesh pattern matched perfectly, and the twin lightning bolts angled down over his forehead toward his covered nose accentuated the glaring shape of the mask's thinly ridged eyebrows, making Sho look threatening, maybe even sinister. He worked his jaw, making sure he'd be able to talk if he needed to, and the fabric covering his muzzle stretched to match his movements. He could breathe through it easily, too, a pair of small, mesh ovals sitting in front of his nostrils. It didn't constrict his short snout too much, but it definitely softened his features, and his unruly cheek fluff was completely flattened against the sides of his face, leaving his entire head streamlined and...

He sighed, lowering his head with a self-conscious shake. And feminine. Sho even had a female rabbit's cheekbones. He'd just never noticed, since he kept his cheek fluff so long.

It didn't matter, he told himself, looking at his reflection again. In fact, it was exactly as he'd hoped it would be. He wasn't doing this for his image. He was wearing the suit to hide who he was, and no one who knew him would ever expect him to wear something that made him out to look even more like a girl.

Besides, he really did like the way his eyes stared all steely out of the mask, purple contacts hiding their natural bright blue. The mask's perpetual glare matched his mood.

Sho looked out his bedroom window, toward the apartment's balcony outside. His leaf-shaped tail gave a cute wiggle, without him noticing, and he stepped toward the open sill.

He was off to save his brother.
