#8 of Legend of the Tiger Clan

The next day Zeng had recovered to full strength and after giving a right hook to his jaw he and Kerric instantly became best friends, as did their mates and Angel. The four of them seemed happy together, almost like they were a big family but for Captain Bronn this wasn't a good thing, for a while he watched as Zeng grew stronger with teachings from Abby and Kerric for different fighting techniques and better ways to stalk a monster during a hunt while Linda and Angel sat down having tea.

During the next day Zeng was in the library studying the map of Gaia and the monsters that lived in the areas, if he was to become the best hunter in the land he would need information on every beast in it. During his study Kerric came into the room holding an ancient scroll, no doubt a family heriloom or something he was given by his last client and after checking to see if anyone else was around he approached Zeng tapping him on the shoulder slightly.

"Kerric nice to see you. Could you hand me that book there uhh *snaps fingers three times* rock wyverns volume 2."

"Sure, studying the volcanic region?"

"Yeah, most of that land is uncharted plus most explorers wont go there cause so many wyverns are in that region."

"Did you ever wonder why?"

Zengs interest was suddenly peaked as his ears perked up and as he looked at Kerric who had a smirk on his face and he could tell he knew something, something big.

"What if I were to tell you that I was holding the map to possibly the biggest treasure horde in all of Gaia?"

"I'd say what does it have to do with me?"

Before he could say anything else Kerric closed all the curtains and the entrance making sure nobody was listening in on their conversation.

"Abby! Angel! you can come out now."

Then Abby dropped in from the ceiling while Angel used her knowledge of stealth magic to appear next to Kerric who laid out a blank scroll with some ancient words on the table after clearing off Zengs books.

"Okay about a thousand years ago a group of hunters bearing your mark created a fortress deep in the volcano region to battle a dragon they called "Kairos The Destroyer" and believe me when I say this guy was bad news."

"How bad?"

"Try burning entire kingdoms to ashes bad."

Stated Abby who had her arms crossed while Kerric continued his tale.

"Now during that battle the hunters defeated Kairos sending him crashing into the heart of the mountain that is now called Black Pillar but they couldn't kill him so instead they cealed him up using the best elemental magic users and when that was done they ventured to his lair and took ALL his treasure, down to the last coin."

Before they said anything else Angel heard footsteps approaching and everyone instantly quieted down but thankfully it was only one of the chamber maids dusting the halls and everyone gave a huge sigh of relief as Kerric picked up from where he left off.

"Now in that treasure was a special brand of sword....A Dragon Killer."

A dragon killer was an extremely rare weapon that was enchanted to kill a dragon or wyvern with just one blow and very few blacksmiths knew how to mix magic with steel.

"Keep talking..."

"The leader of the hunters who defeated Kairos owned that sword and gave it a name, he called it "Smolder" cause it was forged by the very fires of the volcano and after he and his hunters vanished they hid a map leading to that sword should Kairos ever rise again and my friend *points to scroll* this is that map!"

Zeng looked at Kerric in an awkward manner thinking that this legend had gone straight to his head.

"That's a piece of blank paper with a bunch of words in a dead language...."

Just as he was about to leave Angel quickly moved next to Kerric catching Zengs attention.

"I've translated the words, it says "The blood is the key." I think that this map has an enchantment that can be broken with your help."

"But why should we break the enchantment? last I checked there was no warning of some ancient dragon rising out of the mountain."

"That's where you're wrong."

"CAPTAIN!!"

"SIR BRONN?!?"

How he did it was unknown but somehow Sir Bronn sneaked his way into the library. He approached the map removing his gauntlet, revealing the dragons bane mark on his hand leaving Zeng a little surprised.

"About five weeks ago one of our scouts from the volcanic region reported several volcanoes erupting around black pillar before an earthquake struck the area and when a wyvern was just about to attack one of the outer villages it suddenly made a run for it when it saw the volcanoes erupt....I fear that the ceal on Kairo's prison has been weakened."

Everyone suddenly fell silent as a sudden chill of fear overcame them then without thinking Zeng unsheathed one of his claws and cut his hand allowing the blood to drip on the scroll then after allowing a small puddle formed the blood began to reveal the map of the volcanic region as well as the location of the hidden fortress.

"SWEET!! two story mansion here I come!!"

"The treasure will have to wait."

"What? you serious?!?"

Kerric was stunned as to what he was hearing, Zeng was giving up a once in a lifetime chance to score on the biggest treasure horde in history.

"If what Sir Bronn is saying is true then we need to find a way to enforce the ceal....and maybe pick up the treasure when we're done..."

"YES!"

The End.
