The New Couple

(Anphila)

(Karl Antelo)

The Prince's daughter, was assigned general of the Wels army. She marched us off the island, to fight the duchies, who does not support the new king. While I received a commission at the rank of Caption, in charge of the 3rd Umblin Company. Other than that, I was finally away from baron Kolvak and his family.

While I was marching my company in the woods, away from the main force. I stumbled upon about 2 companies of enemy soldiers. I ordered my company into line formation, ready to fire. My hope is to hold them off, until another company comes.

I spoke "lieutenant, send a runner to the main force, and make sure you send a cheetah."

The enemy had already lined up and fired, and was starting to move forward. I ordered my troops to charge, as I trained them well with hand to hand. Unfortunately leaving their firing skill, with real need to be improved. I just hope, they weren't that skilled in combat, deep in my thoughts they start another volley. I should have been more careful, my troops weren't prepared for the volley.

My company, or what's left of it, successfully charged into them. Though my company was badly hurt, they seemed to do well with holding off the enemy. Unforently, I there is no way we could win the battle. By now, I was in the fight, just hoping I could hold off the inevitable defeat.

Suddenly, I hear a trumpet ordering a charge. I look behind me and there the banners for Wels flew. My runner must have met up with another company, we should be able to win this battle. They come charging in, with the extra company we were able to win, and more importantly save my company.

The damage to my company was awful, I lost 37 out of my 100 soldiers. The good news, though is that we took plenty of prisoners. When I was done handling the prisoners, I noticed the other company's banner. It was the 1stUmblin company, lead by Otto Kolvak son of Baron Kolvak. It was embarrassing, I needed help from that family. My only option, was to thank him for saving my company.

It was at dinner, Otto was at a camp fire with his officers. I came over asking if we may speak alone, he waved his men to leave. I began, "I need, to thank you for helping me. Without your company, I would have lost all my troops."

He answered, "no problem at all, just glad we came in at a good time."

I answered, "Yay, thanks again." I was expecting him, to bring up that I'm married to his sister, but he didn't.

Almost as if he read my mind he stated saying, "I understand what your feeling, being forced to marry into a house that hates you. I just want you to know, I don't care about my father's fued."
