After sneaking from alley to alley, avoiding public eyes, Hazard finally managed to get back to his apartment's building. He didn't want to been seen with his clothes covered in blood with a sword in his hand and get the wrong idea. Thankfully, he reached the underground parking lot of the building safely without being seen and caught an empty elevator that took him all the way up to his floor and eventually to his apartment, as he entered it in a hurry and closed the door behind him with a deep sigh. "Phew... touch down."

"HOLY CRAP! Haz! What happened to you!? You have blood all over yourself!" Panja then bawled the moment Hazard found himself into the apartment and saw that both of the white lion and the kirin was awaiting him impatiently.

"Oh my God! Are you hurt, Haz?!" Sasuga gasped as well.

"Hey, hey, easy! It's not my blood! I'm fine, really," Hazard replied and comforted them.

"Damn, you scared me! But just to make sure, I'm gonna need to undress you!" Panja said with a sleazy smile and attempted to take off Hazard's bloodied clothes.

"Gah! Leave me alone, you big lug!" Hazard griped and wriggled away from Panja's grubby paws that tried to strip him. The wolf then noticed Sasuga's bandaged arm. "What the? I thought you said she was fine," Hazard glared at Panja.

"B-But, she is! Look at her! That's just a scratch she got before I made it just in time for major ass kicking!" Panja retorted.

"He's right, Haz. If Panja hadn't come to save me, I don't think I'd be standing here right now..." Sasuga said.

"See? I've saved the day!" Panja proudly beamed.

"Heh, I bet you did," Hazard chuckled and nudged the lion on his side with an elbow.

"What happened with you, though? Did you finish off that crow? I hope you did! That son of a bitch left a nasty mark on my sweet bike!" Panja than said, referring to Jale and how he tossed one of his darts at Panja's motorcycle earlier.

"No, he managed to escape in the last moment. Couldn't get anything out of him, either," Hazard answered. "But, I'm really glad you're okay, Sas. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you this time. I won't let that happen again." He then turned to the kirin and placed his hands on her shoulders gently.

"Oh Haz..." Sasuga couldn't hold herself from sobbing slightly and pressed herself at Hazard's chest. "I... I was so scared... something strange is happening to me... I didn't know what to do... and then that monster started to come out of shadows and chased after me and was trying to kill me and almost killed Kyle... it was horrible..." she whimpered between her sobs, as Hazard wrapped his arms around her and hugged her gently.

"Hey, it's okay now. Let's take it easy, one by one. Panja, make some green tea," Hazard told him as he was comforting Sasuga, as Panja gave him an awkward look.

"Err...Can't I just bring some beer cans?"

"Man, you're something else... I'll make some," Hazard sighed and had Panja take the kirin to the living room while he went to the kitchen to make some soothing green tea. The three of them calmly sat down and discussed the bizarre events that had occurred today for hours on end, like how Sasuga had sudden mysterious electrical power and how Kyle was able to see the demons despite being a mortal.

"You mean he was able to see them?" Hazard said in bewilderment, awestruck by what Sasuga had told him so far.

"Yes..." Sasuga nodded warily. "Is that supposed to happen?"

"Well, not exactly. It used to happen many years ago, like a couple of hundreds years ago. But with Maligna power weakening over the years, it's becoming impossible. It's almost nonexistent nowadays," Hazard answered.

"Maligna?"

"It's a type of an otherworldly energy, from the demon realm. It's... hrmm, how do I explain this? It's kind of like what gives them power, enough power to materialize physically in this world and being able to harm people," Hazard explained.

"Oh! I remembered now! That chameleon, he mentioned something about that! About Maligna!" Sasuga keenly exclaimed.

"What?! Are you sure?" Panja rumbled.

"Yeah, I'm sure! He... When Kyle showed up and he attacked him, he said that Kyle had Maligna. Enough Maligna to summon his demon dogs, and that exactly what he did," Sasuga told them as best as she could recall from that dreaded moment.

"Whoa... but how can Kyle have Maligna? Is he bearer of Abaddon's curse?" Panja wondered.

"No, he isn't. I saw Kyle once before, from afar, but I can tell that he's a normal kid," Hazard said assuredly.

"Then what did that lizard freak mean by that?"

"I don't know, but it sure explains how he was able to see the Hellhounds and almost getting harmed by them. How does he have Maligna in him is the mystery, though..." Hazard expressed worriedly.

"Kyle is a good person, I don't think he's the type that would get involved with demonic powers," Sasuga stated.

"Well, we're still in the dark about this, so no point in working our brains out now, or else Panja will hurt his head," Hazard bantered.

"Hey! I think of smart things, too!" Panja protested.

"So, are you saying that I have this Maligna?" Sasuga asked.

"Well, not exactly. Maligna is just an invisible kind of energy that attracts demons. You don't have that, but you do have a demon part inside of you. That gives you the same effect as Maligna does, so you'll be able to see them. Erm, am I getting through to you?" Hazard tried to explain.

"Yeah, I think so..." Sasuga muttered. "But, why now?"

"I guess it's because your latent power are awakening!" Panja said.

"My power..." Sasuga murmured as she looked at her hands and remembered that moment where she electrocuted both of Katherine and Onyx. She still couldn't believe she was able to do that before, and wondered if she can do it again, or even control it.

"What happened to you back there?" Hazard asked her curiously.

"I... I'm not sure. Back at the cafeteria, I just wanted to defend myself, and the next thing I know, Katherine was on the ground like she was having a seizure. I didn't mean to hurt her..." Sasuga confessed sadly as Hazard held her hand tenderly.

"I'm sure you didn't. Then what?"

"I panicked and moved from the cafeteria to the women's room, and that chameleon came out of my shadow and started chasing after me. When he was about to feed Kyle to his Hellhounds, I had to do something to save him and I felt something inside of me, like a dwelling sensation, wanting to burst out. I reached my hand forward and a stream of electricity came out from my hand and zapped him," Sasuga detailed to them what happened to her as best as she could remember.

"Whoa, electrical power! That's awesome!" Panja exclaimed in amazement.

"Yeah, I haven't seen anything like that in my life... pretty remarkable," the wolf stated.

"But, I couldn't do it again when I needed it to. I don't know if I can control such a power, or even want it..." Sasuga hesitantly murmured.

"Hey, it's normal to be scared, Sas. Everything is happening so fast, but you shouldn't fear this power, because it's yours. It's there to you help you survive this. You'll be able to take control over it, once you accept it. We'll be by your side the whole way and help you," Hazard comfortingly said to the kirin.

"That's right! Between me and Hazzy, no one can lay a finger on you! We're unstoppable! Plus, I know a good thing or two about elemental power, I can teach you how to make it your own bitch!" Panja proclaimed proudly.

"You sure have your own way with words, Panja," Hazard breathed in distress.

"I try!" Panja laughed.

"Thanks guys..." Sasuga smiled softly, feeling a little better. She sure was glad about not being alone in this ordeal, or else she didn't know how she would handle it.

"Well, you had a long rough day, why don't you rest up? I think it's better if we stick together in one place, just in case. Take my bedroom, Panja and I we'll keep watch," Hazard then offered.

"Yeah, I'd like that, Haz. I'll feel much safer that way, for tonight at least. Thanks," Sasuga nodded agreeably.

"Oh! Does that mean we'll bed-bunk in my room, wolfy?" Panja excitedly hoped.

"I'll... sleep on the couch," Hazard replied grimly.

"Aww... crud," Panja pouted, his ears drooping.

That got a giggle out of Sasuga. No matter how bleak things might get, she felt easier knowing that those two were with her. They always managed to bring a smile on her face and she liked that.

"Boy, all that action made me really hungry. Who's up for pizza!?" Panja announced.

"Hey, you do think of smart things, sometimes," Hazard said lightheartedly, craving for some that crusty cheese pie himself. "Any good pizza places to order from, Sas?"

"Umm, House of Pizza makes good pies," Sasuga answered. "I like the spicy Volcano Pizza, myself!"

"Nice! Mmm, I'm up for something hot," Hazard replied, smacking his muzzle.

"No way! I hate spicy food! It contradicts my tongue and argues with my bowels! I rather have Pineapple toppings!" Panja protested.

"No one's pointing a gun on your head. We'll get the hot stuff, you get the sweet stuff," Hazard said.

"Oh! Or you could save yourself the trouble and have both hot and sweet stuff right here..." Panja leered sleazily and caressed his big hand over his wide chest with a seductive purr, making the wolf narrow his eyes.

"Dumbass..." Hazard grumbled, while Sasuga giggled again with a little blush. She sure wouldn't have minded some of Panja's 'pie'.
