At Hazard's place, Panja's cell phone was vibrating in silent mode on top of the table in the living room, but the white lion was lying on the couch, eating potato chips and watching some wrestling on TV, and couldn't notice his incoming call.
"Please, pick up, Panja! Pick up!" Sasuga was pleading for the heavens on the other side of the line.
"Oouh! Right on the kisser!" Panja commented with a wince as he continued to watch the fight on TV.
"Hey, you put too much water in the cup! Now the noodle is all soggy! I don't like it soggy!" Hazard then interrupted Panja's viewing and complained.
"How should I know how much water I should pour in?" Panja replied innocently.
"Can't you see the red line indicator?"
"Oh. Well, the more you know!" Panja shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "I made it with all my love, though! Bon appetite!"
"Dumbass," Hazard grumbled. The wolf then noticed Panja's phone silently ringing on the table as he sat down to eat. "Hey, you have a call," Hazard said and tossed the phone over to Panja.
"Huh, I don't know this number. I hope it's none of my past lovers starving for some wanderlust!" Panja remarked as he checked the unknown number flashing on his phone screen, with just a few rings remaining before it had to disconnect. "I don't want you to get jealous, Hazzy!"
"I'll try not to panic," Hazard said with an eyes-roll, slurping on his cup noodles. "Just answer it already."
Panja complied, and before the last ring passed, he pressed answer. "Panja speaking."
"Oh, Panja! Thank GOD!" Sasuga breathed out in relief.
"Hey Sassy! What's up? Why aren't you calling from your cell? Isn't it still early for your classes to end? Oh, or do you want to ditch school? I'm all for that! Hey, we can watch some TV together! You're missing out on some hot wrestling action, so you better... what? Hey, easy, babe. What happened? Slow down, I'm not getting what you're saying," Panja's tone changed from pleasant to concerned, piquing Hazard's attention.
"Panja, please, listen! Some creep is after me at the university! He's came out of the shadows and, and I don't know what to do! I'm scared and afraid he's going to..." Sasuga was desperately telling Panja through phone, holding herself from breaking into tears.
"Peek-a-boo!" Onyx then suddenly popped his face out of the shade Sasuga was creating against the payphone and rolled out his long tongue, giving the kirin's cheek a lick. Sasuga let out an appalled sharp shriek and backed off startlingly, causing her to let go of the phone and leaving it hanging down by its cord, as Onyx disappeared into the shadow again before she backed away. "Hide wherever you want! As long as there's a shadow, I'll always find you!" she could hear Onyx laughter echoing all around her as she fled away for her life.
"Sassy? Sasuga!? Hey!" Panja called out for her on his cell phone, but to no avail. "Haz! I think Sassy is...!" he was trying to inform Hazard, but the wolf was one step ahead of him and already headed for the door with his sword in hand.
"Let's go!" Hazard said and Panja immediately followed him without a second of a delay.
