Sasuga ran and ran, finding herself getting into one of the university women's rooms for refuge. She stopped by one of the sinks to catch her breath, panting and shivering. She had no idea what had happened back there. Something inside of her just snapped when she saw that Katherine was trying to hit her and she simply reacted and defended herself. She was mad at her, but she didn't want to hurt her, not like that.
"Did I... really do that?" Sasuga mumbled to herself as she looked at her right hand, the sparks disappeared. "No. No way. That can't be." She looked at her reflection on the mirror and saw her tear-covered face, shaking her head in denial. She turned on the faucet and splashed some water on her face to wipe off the tears, trying to calm herself down.
"Ooooooohhh! Looks like someone's powers has awakened! How fun!" A voice suddenly spoke from within the women's room and startled Sasuga greatly. She flinched about and turned around, not seeing anyone nearby.
"H-Hello...? Is... Is anybody in here?" she anxiously called out for anyone in the room. "Am I going crazy...?"
"No, you're not! Or maybe you are! What's the difference, anyway?" the raspy voice spoke again, much clearer and closer than before. Sasuga was getting very scared now and decided to leave the bathroom, heading for the door, but before she could reach it, a form emerged from her own shadow casted along the floor in front of her right before her horrified eyes. "Going somewhere?" The shadowy shape appeared fully as Onyx before the shocked kirin, as she let out a shriek and backed away to the sinks again. "Darn, am I that ugly?" the chameleon frowned.
"Wh-Who are you?! Wha-What do you want from me?" Sasuga fretfully stammered.
"You can call me Onyx, Onyx the Shade! And I'm here to play with you!" Onyx said, clapping his scaly hands excitedly.
"N-No... you're not real!"
"Oh? If weren't, would I be able to do thiiis...?" The chameleon placed one hand of his on a part of his shadow and it sank right under its surface, as Sasuga watched in disbelief, and then she was horrified when she felt something stroking her left hoof. Looking down, she squealed when she saw his hand coming out of the shadow her leg was casting and touching her hoof, frantically kicking it off. "Ouch! Hey, that hurts, you bitch!" Onyx whined as he pulled his hand back, slipping it back inside Sasuga's shadow and remerging from his own, despite standing some feet away from her.
"D-Don't get close!" Sasuga helplessly yelled out.
"But how will we get to play if I don't get close?" Onyx sniggered as he stepped closer to the kirin, reaching his lizard-like arms towards her. Sasuga wanted to escape, but she was too scared to move, her legs froze up in fear. She didn't know what Onyx meant by wanting to play, but she was sure he was going to be harmful.
"No... stay away... STAY AWAY!" Sasuga shouted from the top of her lungs and a surge of electricity shoot out of her unihorn on her forehead and zapped Onyx right between the eyes, pushing him away and making him drop hard on his back with a groan.
"Yeow! FUCK!? Ooww! My face! Hurt, hurt, HURT!" Onyx cried out in pain as he rolled all over the floor with his hands covering his face. Sasuga had no clue what had just happened, but she didn't want to wait to analyze it and seized this opportunity to get far away from there. She hopped over the fidgety chameleon and ran as fast as her hooves possible could, passing through some students and teachers who were weirded out by her running anxiously. She wasn't sure if she should seek out help, not after that Katherine incident at the cafeteria. She doubted that anyone would believe her, anyhow. She still couldn't believe it, but it was definitely real. Scary real. All she needed now was to get away from that creepy lizard.
Thinking that she had lost him, Sasuga stopped by one of the halls that contained the classes for a quick breather, panting heavily. "C-Calm down, Sasuga... just calm down and think... I need... I need to call Haz!" she thought to herself and realized what she needed to do, searching around her pockets for her cell phone, but unfortunately, she wasn't carrying on her. "Shit! I forgot it in my purse!" she cursed when she remembered putting her phone inside her purse, which in turn was inside her locker, which was in turn was all the way at other side of the university building, which in turn where Onyx was. "What should I do now...?" Sasuga muttered in despair; she didn't remember Hazard's number. She ran her hand through her hair fretfully, and that when she noticed something on her palm. It was the faint ink writing of Panja's phone number he wrote on it just yesterday. It was on its way to fade, but she was still able tell the numbers out. "Yes!" she joyfully exclaimed when she glimpsed a lifesaver; the university payphone was just around the corner and she luckily had a few coin change in her pocket from meal she had in the cafeteria. Not wasting another second, she dashed for the payphone and hastily dialed the number written on her palm.
