#28 of The Model

This is a gay themed story that has been sitting on my computer for a while, so I decided to develop it into a new short series. After being hired to help with photoshoots for an underwear company, I developed an obsession with one of their models, a handsome Doberman by the name of Kurt Hauser. I never thought I'd stand a chance with someone like that. Until now...

Chapter Twenty Nine to follow soon...

The fact I'd told my father to piss off weighed on my mind all throughout dinner.

Mia had prepared some roast elk, potatoes and vegetables which were delicious. Tobias spoke a little about surfing as we ate. I wanted to listen, but I was starting to feel guilty. Cursing at my father had felt good at first, but then I remembered how much more considerate he had been to Kurt on our last meeting and I felt bad. "Have you been surfing before Alec?" Mia asked. "I haven't," I admitted. "You should get Tobias to show you," Mia continued. I smiled as Tobias explained that there hadn't been much surf so they had chatted on the beach. "This was with high school friends?" Ralph asked casually. "Yeah," Tobias replied, shooting me a knowing glance. I smiled back.

The elk was very tender and I cut through it with my fork easily. I was soon finished and my plate was clean. Kurt had also finished and we stood to gather up everyone's plates. "Could I just keep you here?" Mia joked as I took her plate. "You're very helpful." I smiled as I took Julia's plate. "Thank you," the elder Doberman said. I carried the dishes over to the sink where Kurt was waiting. "You okay bud?" he whispered. "Yeah," I replied with a smile. "I'm trying not to let the conversation with my father ruin things." I added with a whisper. "What exactly happened?" Kurt asked in a hushed tone. I glanced over at the table where the Doberman family were chatting. "He called drunk and asked why I was at your parents' place, which really annoyed me. I cursed at him and hung up," I explained quietly. "Oh, I'm sorry bud," Kurt sighed as he began filling the sink with water to do the dishes. "I feel bad as he was kind to you last time," I continued. "But he can't just keep phoning me drunk. He's got to sort it out." "You all right boys?" Mia asked as she walked over. I felt like putting a paw over my muzzle as I realised my tone had steadily got louder. "I'm fine," I replied, forcing a wag from my tail. "Thanks for dinner, that was delicious as always." "You're very welcome," Mia replied with a smile. "We were all talking about playing a game in a little while if you would like to join us?" "Sounds good," I replied.

I turned back to the dishes as Kurt helped me. Mia lingered for a moment before following the rest of the family to the living room. "I feel I should probably make amends," I sighed. "Perhaps," Kurt mused. "He might not fully remember everything you said to him if he was drunk." "That's true," I said, drying off a plate. "It's funny, I spent all this time trying to ignore him now I feel I have to call him." "Hmm," Kurt said neutrally. I glanced over at the Doberman but his expression seemed unreadable. "I think that's all the dishes done," I added, trying to sound more cheerful. "Nice one bud, shall we join everyone in the living room?" Kurt suggested. A smile had suddenly appeared on his muzzle.

We walked in to find everyone sitting around the fireplace. "What are we playing?" Kurt asked. "How about Read It Draw It?" Tobias suggested. "The safe version I hope," Kurt whispered to me. "Can Grandma play that though?" Ralph asked. "Yes I can thank you Ralph," Julia replied, shooting me a mock withering look as she put on her glasses. I had never heard of the game before and cocked my head in curiosity as Tobias retrieved it from a cabinet at the side of the room. "You'd better explain to us how we play this game," Mia said to Tobias. "I can't say I've ever played it myself." "Okay, here's how it goes," the younger Doberman announced as he sat down. "You each get a card with a random object or scenario on it and you have to draw it on the erasable sketchpads I'm passing around. Then you pass it to the person on your left, next person has to guess it. They write down what they think it is, pass it on, next person draws it and so on until it gets back to you. Then you can see if it matches what you originally tried drawing." I nodded as Tobias handed me a sketchpad, card and a pen. I thought I understood what Tobias was saying but I decided to play along and see what happened. "Okay, turn over your cards!" Tobias called. I turned mine over and saw it had Frat Party written on it. I looked to my left and gulped as I saw Julia was sitting in her armchair. How could I draw that for her? "You all have until the timer runs out," Tobias said as he tipped a small hourglass on its head.

I concentrated as I drew something resembling a harmless party with several stick figures. "Times up!" Tobias announced. I handed my sketchpad over to Julia as Kurt handed me his. "Tobias!" Kurt growled as Tobias handed his over. "I am not going to write what I think that is." "Hey, the card dictated I draw that," Tobias shrugged. "Mother!" Ralph exclaimed when he took the sketchpad from Julia. "Is that what I think it is?" "Now Ralph, I've seen one of those before," Julia tutted. "I might be old but I'm not stupid, and I used to work in a hospital." Kurt had handed me a drawing of what looked like a truck with a body in it. "My drawing skills ain't great," Kurt sighed with an apologetic shrug. The Doberman also looked somewhat sheepish. I realised the card must have said Hearse. The idea of drawing one of those didn't seem very appropriate, especially if I was handing it to an elderly lady. I tried writing down something more innocent before we passed our sketchpads around. "Ralph why did you write that?" Mia asked. "It's what it looked like," Ralph said with a shrug. "Tobias!" Kurt growled again. "Yes?" Tobias replied. "Why has this person got..." Kurt sighed before he shuffled over and muttering the word into his brother's ear. "On his head?" "It's what the card said," Tobias replied innocently. Mia frowned and picked up some more cards. "Sweety, I'm not sure this is very appropriate," she said to Tobias. I glanced at one of the cards in Mia's paw and noticed that it read Britney Spears' Wig. "There's a politer version and a more risqué edition," Kurt explained. "Oh, I must have accidentally got the risqué version out," Tobias explained, splaying his ears. "Yeah, accidentally," Kurt sighed, rolling his eyes. Julia reached down and picked up one of the cards. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her muzzle before reading it and croaking with laughter. "Mother, I think we're going to end the game now," Ralph said, taking the card off Julia which read Too Much Vodka. Tobias gathered the cards up before taking the game back to the cabinet and retrieving_Monopoly_ at Ralph's request. "I'm not sure if this is a less controversial choice," Kurt chuckled.

Despite Kurt's concerns the game went well and I ended up winning. "Aw man, he won and I managed to have a stash of money hidden," Tobias sighed. "I didn't really." He added as everyone shot him a stern look. "Would you and Alec like to stay for some wine?" Mia offered. "Are we planning on driving back?" I asked Kurt. "We could stay here overnight?" Kurt suggested. "We don't have to go to the studio tomorrow, only if you're okay staying here." "You're more than welcome to stay," Mia added. "It sounds like a good idea," I said, wagging my tail. Mia went to the kitchen to get the wine while Tobias poured himself a glass of hard lemonade. "I'm not into wine, I tried it at a party, I mean I haven't tried it before but I don't think I'll like it," he explained to me while casting a nervous glance at Ralph. The wine was a white Malbec and I liked the taste. Mia also provided a plate of cheese and crackers to go with it. "You know, doctors always say you have to eat this and drink that to reach my age," Julia said, taking a sip of her wine before grinning. "I always say why on Earth would you want to reach my age?" She added with a laugh. I smiled and couldn't help but thump my tail against my chair. I felt happy being with Kurt's family, but the scent of my wine reminded me of my father being drunk at the bar.

I hope he doesn't try driving home.

The thought got me worried. "You okay bud?" Kurt asked. "Yeah, I just need to use the bathroom," I claimed, setting my glass down and making my way out of the living room.

I locked myself in the bathroom and called my father's number. The phone rang for a few beats before my father answered. "Hello Alec," he slurred. "Father, I," I sighed and took a deep breath. "I was just calling to say sorry I cursed earlier." "Cursed? I don't remember," my father replied. "Where are you?" I asked. "At home," my father replied. "Your mother has gone to bed. I'm siiiting downstairs." "Okay, well, so long as you got back safely and father?" "Yeees?" "Please just stay at home and don't go out again," I said firmly. "I'm not," my father replied. "Okay then, bye I guess," I replied before hanging up and heading back to the living room. I felt guilty at having left Kurt's family to call my father, but I wanted to check he was at least at home and not involved in a car accident.

Everyone was still chatting in the living room and I sat back down. "I was just saying to Kurt that you are welcome to use the shower here," Mia said to me. "And there's some of Kurt's old clothes here. They'd fit you." "Thanks," I replied, wagging my tail. "I want to help you feel at home," Mia said quietly. "And I do appreciate you doing the dishes too." "Oh, it's fine," I replied. "I want to do something in return for you making a nice meal." I wondered if Kurt had said something to Mia about my parents as the female Doberman was giving me something that looked like a sympathetic glance. I didn't want to let it weigh on me, so I joined in the conversation Tobias was having to Julia about how much he was looking forward to attending San Amador Coast.

Eventually Julia announced she was going to bed. "I would stay up longer but sadly I get tired quicker nowadays," she explained. I got to my hind-paws and shook the elder Doberman's paw. "It was nice to meet you," I said. "You seemed like a very nice young man," she remarked. "Please do stop by mine with Kurt, it'd be nice to have you. Anyway, good night everyone." We all bade Julia goodnight before Ralph and Mia announced they were going to bed too. "See you in the morning boys," Mia said. "Sleep well." "Good night," Ralph added as they left the room. "What shall we do now?" Tobias asked. "Sadly I didn't bring our swimwear," Kurt sighed. "They were still a little damp from our trip to the beach." "It's okay," I replied before a grin spread across my muzzle. "We could resumed_Read It Draw It_?" "I love that idea!" Tobias exclaimed as he jumped up to retrieve the game from the cabinet. "Um, Kurt you didn't mention the problems with my parents to your mother by any chance?" I whispered. "Not in detail, my mother asked about your parents and I quietly told her that you were having a few issues with them, but I didn't go any further than that," Kurt explained as Tobias brought the game back over. "We can forget about all that though and have fun." He added.

I couldn't fault Kurt for giving a few details to Mia, in fact I was somewhat glad he had told his mother that I'd been having problems in case she and Ralph ever asked to meet my parents. I tried pushing the thought away as I drew the rude things spelt out on the cards that Tobias handed around and laughed at the two Dobermans' reactions to some of the drawings. "Tobias, it looks like Santa has crashed his sleigh into someone's roof." "Well yeah, the card said Bad Santa so I drew him trying to fly his sleigh stoned and he crashed into a house." "You could have made the drawling a little simpler!" "Hey, I like putting detail into my work!" I laughed as the pair spoke. "I don't know why you're laughing Alec, the drawing of a Zombie Apocalypse you did was terrible," Tobias said. "Hey, that was a Rave," I replied indignantly. "You need glasses." "You two are chumps," Tobias sighed. "Tobias, do you even know what that means?" Kurt said. "A word that fits you two perfectly," Tobias shot back, sticking his tongue out.

We kept playing the game and laughing until Tobias announced he was tired. "See ya tomorrow," he said to both of us. We all shared a hug before Tobias scampered upstairs. "I'll show you the bathroom we'll use," Kurt explained as he led me upstairs. "This is my old room." Kurt pushed open the door to a bedroom at the front of the house. He flicked the light on and I could see some music and move posters on the wall, some of which were peeling a little like the prints at my old place. The walls were blue and the ceiling had glow in the dark shiny stars stuck to it. "My mother didn't want to change it after I moved out," Kurt explained. "I like it," I replied, sniffing about the room. Kurt opened a drawer and handed me a pair of pyjamas. "We'd better wear these here," he said, pulling out a pair for himself. Kurt then gestured for me to follow him to the bathroom and we walked quietly down the hall. The bathroom was large and modern with a sizeable shower unit, much like the bathroom at Kurt's apartment. Kurt turned the water on as we undressed and we did our usual ritual of standing under the water together.

Once I felt clean, Kurt shut off the water. "There's spare toothbrushes in here," Kurt said, shaking himself dry. We brushed our fangs before putting on the pyjamas (my pair were a little loose on me but not too baggy) before we made our way back to Kurt's room. "Are your parents okay with us sleeping together?" I asked nervously. "I think so, my mother would have made up a spare bed up otherwise," Kurt explained as we climbed under the covers. "When Hector first came here she made up a camp bed on the floor, but we slept with each other anyway, and she probably deduced that we shared a bed since we stopped putting the camp one out." I snuggled up to Kurt and wrested my head against his muscular chest. The thought of my father drunk began weighing on my mind again. "I don't know what to do about my father getting hammered," I sighed out loud. "Yeah, that's difficult," Kurt replied and I wondered if I could hear a hint of irritation in his voice. "I wonder if I should call him back tomorrow?" I mused. "Just to check how things are going." "I don't know," Kurt sighed, his voice going to neutral. "I mean, I don't know if I want his problems to drag me down too, but he's still my father," I said. "Did he try the hobby idea?" Kurt asked before letting out a yawn. "He claimed he did, but my mother wouldn't listen," I explained. "Hmm," Kurt replied neutrally. "Sorry babe, I feel like I'm annoying you," I said. "It's okay," Kurt replied wearily. "I feel tired." The Doberman shuffled over and gave me a kiss on the muzzle. "Sorry bud, I hope I didn't sound too blunt," Kurt whispered. "You're okay," I replied, giving Kurt a kiss back. I closed my eyes and allowed the Doberman to slide his tongue into my muzzle before he pulled off. "Good night bud," Kurt said. "Here, shuffle over and I'll hold you." I allowed Kurt to wrap his strong arms around me and sleep soon came.

I opened my eyes to see I was in my parent's kitchen. My father was drunk and swaggering around with a beer bottle in his paw. My mother was sat in her wicker chair in the living room, ignoring both of us. "Help me sort this out!" My father yelled in my face. His eyes looked unfocused and crazed. "Help me!" "I can't," I replied and found I was rooted to the spot. I tried pulling out my phone, wanting to call Kurt to rescue me. I realised Kurt's number wasn't there. "I told him he's not to see you again," my father explained. "You're to help me instead." "But why?" I asked. "You're my son!" my father shouted, although his tone was more pathetic than commanding. "Now we need to shout so your mother notices us, she won't look at me." My father threw his bottle to one side which crashed against the kitchen cupboards and opened his mouth. He let out a weird and unnerving high pitched yell which seemed to hurt my ears. My mother didn't turn to look at him. "I wanna leave," I sobbed. I tried turning to run, but somehow I tripped over and fell on the floor. My father was still letting out the earsplitting yell as I tried crawling out of the kitchen, but I felt so slow and sluggish. I heard the sound of footsteps nearby followed by a faint chuckle.

Was my father laughing? No, he was still yelling and my mother was silent. There was no one else in the dream.

Dream?

My eyes opened and I found I was still in Kurt's bed with his arm around me. I breathed a sigh of relief and tried turning over as the sluggishness wore off. I heard the sound of chuckling again which sounded like Tobias as the bedroom door clicked shut. I sat up and nearly jumped out of my fur. A gigantic teddy bear was sitting at the end of the bed fixing me a comical and lopsided smile. "Fucking hell," I breathed. Kurt stirred as he woke up. "What is it bud?" he asked before glancing at the foot of the bed and letting out a growl.

"Tobias!"
