Chapter 3 New orders
March 4, 2484 / 2100 hours / Barungan system / High orbit over planet Altair / UCSC Battle cruiser "Interruption"
"Dad!"
I glared at him.
"Err.. Captain." said my last remaining family member, my son whose real name was Jerome, but he was known by most as what he preferred to be known as, Jbird 552. At 17 he joined the UCSC and worked his way through the ranks over the past ten years as a very successful Dedini, considering their races normally peaceful nature, which made two of them he thought with a withheld sigh.
"We just got word over the WAIF. Gavin has been attacked, past the defense line, we defended it but took heavy casualties before they bio-cleansed it" He was the best at what he did, he was the best vice-captain there was in the fleet. He never got the transmissions wrong when they came over the encrypted channel.
"We've been ordered back to Altair to receive upgrades for our weapons because we actually damaged one of their ships and retrieved some of their guns and so all the ships in the picket have been ordered to come back for a specific time slot. We have to leave right now, permission to leave?" he was panting as he gave the news because our comms had been out for an hour after the fight we had protecting Finelen IV from a scouting party. "Comms are back online, messengers can rest finally." Blared out of the speaker over our head. I pushed the comm button next to me and said "Permission to jump to Altair granted."
While On the PM jump my son came and told me that there had been more to the message, a top secret part to the message that was directed at him and me. What the message said was this "In the future the two of you will be receiving a mission of the utmost importance, this mission is all that could save the rest of the UCSC from complete destruction." While my son was bouncing ideas as to what this could be, I was thinking. Over the comms came the news that we had arrived at Altair. While leaving the ship I saw an Admiral "Good day admiral, my Vice-captain told me that you have upgrades for my ship"
"While that's somewhat true, But what is really happening is that in approximately 4 years from now you and several other captains and vice-captains will be given new ships and crews for their new assignment and while your current ship is being retrofitted with the new weapons it is a most opportune time to explain to our top two captains for this mission."
"Well what an honor to be given a chance to get to know another captain who I may be working with in the near future. When does he arrive?"
"He's next to you, your son."
"You're kidding; I get to be working as an equal to my dad?"
"As a Captain, Sir?"
"No. you aren't going to be captains, you will be above captains and admirals and vice-admirals, you will be a part of the most important military project to ever exist, project Godlike. You will be Chariots, a captain type class that has the authority of Black above my current authority as Navy. However you do not have the authority to command a battle if an admiral is present. Welcome to Project Godlike, I am your commanding officer as a White Fleet Chariot

The colors are as follows for what kind of projects you can access and ships you can command.
White is new, never even before conceived to be needed the only thing it can't do is declare war.
Black is the highest to ever exist before now, being brought about in times of extreme war. They have previously been given this command level so that they may control multiple fleets at once typically because they are an advanced strategist, this is also given to scientists who control projects of the utmost importance.
Navy Blue is Admiral and Vice-admiral both of which can command fleets of ships but the Vice-admiral can only command half that of the Admiral.
Maroon is Captain and Vice-captain who can command a Dreadnaught, a Battleship, and a Battle Cruiser, but a Vice-captain can only take command when the Captain is severely injured.
Blue means a Commander who can command a destroyer
Red is a Lieutenant Commander who can typically command Cruisers
Orange and Teal are the lowest and both command frigates but orange commands a missile frigate and teal commands a troop frigate
