Seif drove Sasuga to her university safely and parked by the school's entrance.

"This is the place, right?" Seif inquired and the kirin nodded.

"Yes. Thank you. Sorry for the trouble."

"No trouble at all," the blond lion smiled and made Sasuga blush for the umpteenth time today. She couldn't get over how attractive and hunky he was, along with his incredible strong and muscular built. Just for a split second, she wondered how sexy he looked under that business suit he was wearing. "You can get out of the car now, Ms. Temple," Seif's deep voice spoke and brought Sasuga back from her envisioned state.

"Huh? O-Oh! Yes, of course!" She stammered and climbed down from the SUV hastily. "Thanks again," the kirin gratefully said when she walked around the car from and met him at his window with a timid smile.

"Don't mention it. Just be more careful and take good care of yourself," Seif softly replied, before he started up his car and drove away. Sasuga watched it disappear between the traffic, her hand placed over her chest, feeling her heart beating like jungle drums. Such tingly feelings, she was having, unlike any before. She felt as if she had seen him somewhere before, but she just couldn't put her finger on it. She let out a dreamy sigh, hoping that she would get to meet him again. Someday. Soon. Maybe. If ever, knowing her luck.

"Great, I've depressed myself again..." Sasuga breathed jadedly to herself. She then turned around to enter the university and was surprised by the annoying trio standing before her.

"Hey, scaleface, getting a chauffer to drive you to school now?" Katherine snickered, as Sasuga just glared at her and didn't reply. "Aww, too scared to come on your own now? Poor thing. I didn't get a clear look at him, but I gotta hand it to you, he was clearly a looker. Who is he?" the female canine snoopily asked, her two colleagues equally intrigued.

"That's none of your damned business," Sasuga firmly retorted and passed by them to enter the university.

"Skanky bitch!" Katherine scoffed angrily while being held back by her entourage, but the kirin simply ignored her and carried on her way to catch her class. It felt good to piss her off, Sasuga thought.

Meanwhile, Hazard was doing some investigations of his own. He went back to the park where the incident of the Hellhounds occurred, looking for any clues. As expected, none of their bodies stayed behind, not even a trace of their blood. When demons deceased in the real world, they dematerialize and vanish into nothingness because they don't belong in this realm. No note of it was mentioned in the newspapers or news, so nobody else noticed anything awry had happened, which was a good thing.

"Those dogs couldn't have come on their own. And they don't act on their own either, so they must have a master. They were targeting both of us..." Hazard was thinking to himself. He wasn't surprised that they were after him, since he was used to it by now. But why Sasuga? A question Hazard was almost certain he had the answer to. "Heh... if it's true, then fate has a terrible sense of humor." The wolf chuckled, a cunning grin spreading across his muzzle. His cell phone then rang and he picked it up from his pocket and answered, "Yeah?"

"HAZARD! WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO WORK!?" the bulldog supervisor from work immediately barked through the phone, deafening Hazard's ear.

"Calm down, pup. You don't have to be so loud, I can hear you just fine," Hazard replied with a wince, putting the phone to his other ear while rubbing the other aching one.

"P-P-PUP! Who're you callin' a pup, you fucking sloth?! Look, this is the second time you skip work this week! Third strike, and you're OUT!"

"Yeah, sorry. I'm gonna make this easy for you. I quit, so don't bother yourself with me again, ok?" Hazard bluntly said and the supervisor was too stunned between his blathering to make comprehensible words, but Hazard hanged up before he got a word out of him. "I got more important things to deal with, anyway. If what I assume is true, I can't leave Sasuga alone for too long." He picked up his phone again and dialed Sasuga's number. "Hey there, it's me. You're alright? That's good. Me? Nah, I'm fine. But hey, listen, I'll come pick you up when you're done, deal? Don't go anywhere, got it? We'll talk about it when we get home. See you soon, Sas," Hazard finished talking with her on the phone and then stared up at the sky, the dim sun covered behind thick layers of clouds. "Another storm is brewing, and it looks like the biggest one yet," he muttered to himself with a tiny smirk. Whatever what was coming, his eyes told that he was more than ready to face it.

"Sassyyy!" Kyle's voice hollered through one of the university hallways, trying to catch up with the kirin.

"Oh, hey Kyle!" Sasuga turned around and saw the cat came running towards her.

"Phew, hey, what's up? You've been kind of out of it the whole day. Everything's okay?" Kyle asked in concern.

"Oh, really? I didn't notice. I just have a lot in my mind lately, that's all."

"You're still thinking about the butcher incident?"

"Eh? Oh, no! It's not that. It's just... No, forget it, it's nothing. Sorry, Kyle, but I have to go now."

"Huh? Wait, what's the rush? Can't we, like, have lunch together or something?" Kyle suggested meekly, hoping for a yes, but Sasuga sadly declined.

"Sorry, Kyle, but I can't. Someone's waiting for me and I have to go meet him," Sasuga apologized and Kyle's ears lowered a bit.

"Oh... It's that wolf guy again, I bet. You've been hanging out a lot with him lately. Is he... your boyfriend?" Kyle muttered and made Sasuga blush a bit.

"What? Oh, no, no, he's not. He's just a good friend."

"Oh, I see. Um, s-sorry, I didn't mean to prey, it's none of my business..." Kyle stammered, grazing the ground with his foot.

"It's all right, Kyle," Sasuga smiled and petted the cat between his ears. But she was a little concerned about Kyle's feelings towards her, though. She began to feel that he was harboring some fondness towards her, which could cause some problems, since she didn't see him in the same way in any fashion, considering the age difference foremost. "Tell you what? We'll have lunch tomorrow, and talk about some things. How does that sound?"

Kyle's face brightened up, "That sounds perfect!"

"Great! Hey, why don't you come along with me and meet him? You'd like Hazard, he's a great guy," Sasuga then suggested and Kyle's face dimmed again.

"Umm, no, it's okay. I got some stuff to do, but thanks, maybe next time. I'll just catch you tomorrow, ok?" Kyle excused him and walked the other way, but turned around one more time to face her. "Don't forget about lunch tomorrow!"

"Right!" Sasuga waved back at him as he disappeared out of her sight. She hated having to turn him down all the time, but she had no choice. She had to find a nice way to deal with it, but she left that for tomorrow. Hazard must be waiting for her right now and she didn't want to keep him waiting.

Around that time, over at the university campus, Katherine and her mindless companions were ready to leave the campus, when something interesting caught the collie's eyes. "Oh my God! Who is THAT!?" she gasped as she pointed at the university's entrance, where a golden furred wolf were standing by.

"Uhh, I don't know, Kathy. He doesn't look like he's from here. Must be waiting for someone," her mouse friend said.

"Yeah, waiting for ME. Mmm, kinda rugged looking, but has a smoldering sexiness about him. He's hot..." Katherine dreamingly said, fixing herself up a bit by brushing her long head fur and pressing her bosoms together for more cleavage. "Now sit back and watch Kathy use her magic, girls." She smirked and went over to meet Hazard.

Just then, Sasuga was walking out of the university building and as she was heading out, she saw Hazard having a friendly chat with Katherine. Her chest tightened a little, watching him with that horrible woman. It bothered her a lot, and wasn't sure if she should go ahead to meet him or not.

"Since you're new to this city, how about we get together sometime and show you around? I'll make sure you'll have a very good time," Katherine subtly flirted with Hazard, winking seductively at him.

"That sounds pretty good, but I don't want to piss off your boyfriend," Hazard smirked.

"Oh, don't be silly! I don't have a boyfriend. Not yet, anyway..." she murmured, petting one of his arms in a subtle way to feel it up.

"Really? Damn, a fine chick like you? Only a fool would pass you up," Hazard replied as he eyed her up and down.

"Oh, a flatterer! I like those, too. So what does that make you?"

"A fool, I guess," Hazard grinned and caused the collie to giggle out.

"Oh, you're too much!" she gave his chest a thump with her fist. "So, what brings a good-looking thing like you to our school?" Katherine casually asked the wolf.

"Ah, I'm just waiting for someone."

"Oh? Maybe I know him. Or is it her?"

"Her. And there she is," Hazard smiled and looked over Katherine's head, noticing Sasuga standing not too far away. "Come on, Sas!" he called out to the kirin and the collie's ears perked up sharply when she heard the name, hoping that he heard him wrong. She turned around and was stunned to see that it was indeed Sasuga, who flinched slightly when the wolf called her and gestured for her to come with his hand. Sasuga smiled awkwardly and walked over to them. Hazard grabbed the kirin's hand and brought her closer to his side, much to Katherine's surprise. "It was nice meeting you, umm... sorry, didn't catch the name?"

"K-Ka... Kathe...rine..." the collie stuttered, still in shock.

"Well, Kathe, hate to chat and go, but me and my kirin friend need to be somewhere. Ready to go, Sas?" Hazard said and placed his arm around Sasuga's shoulders.

"Y-Yes," Sasuga softly uttered, blushing a bit.

Hazard nodded, "See you around, Kathe." He saluted her farewell and took the kirin away with him, leaving a gaping Katherine behind, not believing that someone like Sasuga would be acquainted to this 'hot guy' she had her eyes on. What was even worse was that he even turned her down for the kirin, and that infuriated her to no end, seething her teeth heatedly.

"Katherine, are you okay? What happened?" one of her friends asked as they came to her side.

"Shut up! Just shut up!" Katherine snapped at them and stormed away angrily, her followers following her nervously.

"Want to take a cab?" Hazard asked his kirin friend as they exited the university campus.

"No, I prefer to walk," Sasuga replied, walking silently by the wolf's side. She stayed like this for a few minutes and Hazard noticed her odd behavior.

"Something's wrong?"

"What?"

"You've been awfully quiet since we left the university. What's wrong?"

"Oh, no, it's nothing."

"Don't give me that. I can tell something's eating you up. Come on, you can tell me," Hazard persisted, placing his arm around her again gently. That comforted her a bit and she nodded.

"Well, to be honest, I didn't like seeing you talking with that... Katherine. I don't advice being associated with her," Sasuga frankly said.

Hazard's eyes widened a bit in a surprise, "Yeah? Why would you say that?"

"Simply put? She's a fucking bitch," Sasuga bluntly remarked and took Hazard by surprise.

"Whoa! Really now?! Damn, Sasuga, I didn't know you had it in you!" Hazard exclaimed, laughing a bit.

"Well, it's true! She's been nothing but horribly mean to me ever since we met. I just don't want anything to do with her, and I rather you don't either," the kirin stated and continued to be frank with her lupine friend.

"Boy, that bad, huh? Hrmm, alright, if it bothers you that much, I'll wash my paws off of that tramp and won't have anything to do with her," Hazard said understandably.

Sasuga's eyes blinked, "You'd really do that for me? But you seemed to get along well..."

"You're more important to me. Heh, besides, she wasn't really my type," Hazard smirked, giving the kirin's head a gentle pat as she looked up ay him with a blushing smile.

"Thanks, Haz."

"But, since you made me give up a potential date, you have to hook me up with another girl from your school. Someone cute, and leggy!" the wolf grinned and then received a rough elbow from the kirin. "Ouff! Hey, I was just kidding!"

"I didn't know you were a legman. That's very interesting," Sasuga giggled.

"In an unhealthy way. I can't get over sexy, thick, meaty thighs," Hazard hungrily implied. "You're sporting a nice pair yourself," he then complimentary remarked, glancing over the kirin's long legs, and she pinched his arm in retaliation. "Ack! Hey! Damn, you sure like to physically abuse me. Which is okay, since I like being abused by hot chicks," he leered deviously.

"Oh, you incorrigible!" She pouted with a bright blush, but she couldn't help but find him endearing in that way. It was seldom that anybody would say nice things about her looks, and Hazard's flatteries sounded genuine, which made her feel good about herself. "Oh, that's right! About yesterday, those... things that attacked us, what were they?" Sasuga then remembered all of the sudden. Between almost being ran over by that handsome lion hunk's car and that Katherine mess, she almost forgot all about it, which by the way Hazard's face winced, was something he was hoping for.

"Huh... those things? Well... would you believe me if I told you it was all a dream and none of it actually happened?" Hazard said with a tense grin, scratching his cheek coyly.

Sasuga frowned, "I'm not buying that, Haz. I'm serious here. It was real; I almost got killed by them trying to get that sword for you!"

"Yeah... that was a cheap try," Hazard chuckled.

"So can you please tell me what's going on? What were those monsters? Where did they come from? And, that sword, why do you have it? Are you some kind of a demon slayer?" Sasuga laid a wave of questions to the confused wolf.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Easy with the questions! Can we take one at a time?"

"I'm sorry, but I really want to know what the hell is going. I mean, first we meet monsters coming out of the shadows, then they chase me down to kill me, then some mysterious large man covered in a cloak comes out of nowhere carrying a huge sword and rescues me in the last minute, then I find a sword under in your place and..."

"Whoa, hold on a sec. What cloaked man with a sword?" Hazard ears perked when he picked up that peculiar line.

"Huh? Oh, I didn't get the chance to tell you about that, right? Yeah, when I was going to get your sword, I got trapped by those demon dogs and almost got mauled by them, but someone covering himself in a cloak swooped in and took care of them, saving me. I didn't get a good look of him because it was a bit dark and the cloak covered his head like a hood, but he was very large and very strong! He swung that big-ass sword like it was a wooden stick and finished off those monsters in a blink of an eye! If it weren't for him, I would've been dead for sure. He was amazing..." Sasuga explained in detail about the event that occurred as Hazard listened intently.

"I see..." Hazard ponderingly muttered.

"'I see'? Is that what you got out of all of that?"

"Err, I mean, that's amazing indeed! I was kinda surprised that you managed to get me the sword safely. That was very brave of you."

"Well, I couldn't just leave you behind facing those monsters by yourself, no matter how scared I was. But what's the deal with that sword? Is it really yours?" Sasuga curiously asked.

"Uhh, well, yeah, I guess so," Hazard demurely replied.

"Come on, Haz, it's obvious you're hiding something from me. After all the hell I've been through lately, I have the right to know. It's not everyday someone get attacked by demons, and you're acting like it's normal," the kirin huffed, crossing her arms demandingly.

"Crap..." Hazard sighed, realizing that he can't keep dodging the matter with her forever. "Fine, but it's really complicated and not something we can discuss in a walk. Can we wait till we get home?"

"Fair point. I am mentally drained from everything that happened so far. I almost got ran over by a car, even," Sasuga mentioned up and stunned the wolf.

"What!? When!? Are you okay?! Did you get hurt!? Who was that bastard!? I'll...!" Hazard rumbled, grabbing Sasuga's arms worriedly.

"Y-Yes, I'm fine, don't worry! I'm here in one piece, aren't I?" she replied, a bit overtaken by the wolf's concern over her well being. "It was my fault, actually. I was a bit distracted as I was crossing the street this morning, I didn't realize the traffic light was red. Thankfully, the car driver managed to stop before he could hit me. He was a real gentleman too; despite it being my fault, he insisted to drive me to school. Hmm, Mr. Lowefang was charming and dreamy..." Her cheeks flushed a bit and her tail swayed around excitedly when she recalled her handsome lion man.

"Mr. Lowefang?" Hazard's eyes flashed intensely when he heard that name. "Can you describe him to me?" he then curiously asked.

"Um, sure. He was a tall, large lion. Blond mane and beard, very distinctive facial features and incredible muscular body. He was so handsome," Sasuga described him as best as she could remember, since she took a vivid mental image of him saved in her mind. Hazard's ears couldn't believe what they wear hearing, his face expression telling that he was mightily surprise. "Although, I can't help but think that I've seen him before somewhere. I just can't remember for the life of me."

"Was his name Seif?"

"YES! But how'd you know?"

"Err, hey, listen, I just remembered something REALLY important and have to go. We're almost home, so wait for me at my place and don't go anywhere, okay? I promise, I'll explain everything to you when I come back," Hazard suddenly said to her when they were a block away from their building, and just ran off in a rush to the other direction, leaving an extremely puzzled kirin behind.

"H-Hey! Ooh, fine...! What was that all about?" Sasuga frowned. That wolf is just full of mysteries, she thought. She then shrugged it off, heading back home alone.
