Into the Horizon: Missing and Abused

He awoke in a dark, cold cell. He way on his back looking at the roof, but he didn't know where he was. For that matter he didn't know who he was. As he sat up, he looked around his current location. The cell was made of a metal alloy, although what kind he did not know. It was slightly reflective, so he saw himself as he looked into the opposite wall. Standing before him was a six and a half foot tall brown wolf. His fur was matted from blood, his own no doubt. His eyes were green, and he was somewhat muscular. He had no shirt on, and his pants had been badly torn. His groin was extremely tender, more than likely from a swift kick or punch. His left eye was blackened and bleeding slightly. As he looked around, he noticed a single lamp in the roof lighting the cell. The door was solid and appeared to slide into the wall to open. There was a bed in the back of the room, a sink and toilet on the left side of the room, and a bench on the right side of the room. He felt tired therefore decided to lie back down onto the hard, cold bed. It wasn't much, but perhaps sleep would bring him some answers. Currently he had none, although that wasn't really bothering him at the moment. He could feel nothing except pain, physical and emotional, although he didn't understand the emotional pain. As he drifted off, he began to dream. He was falling down a hole, he opened his mouth to scream but found himself incapable of sound. Then he hit bottom, it was not the painful thud he had expected, instead it was as though he was simply sat down. He got to his feet and was standing in a circular room. As he looked around the room the wall's were lined with seats with a large stand in the front and scary looking doors that appeared to be the entry way. As he looked around the roof was pealed back and blood started pouring into the room. The room started to fill with the red, sticky substance. He began to yell for help, but none came. As he looked up the rim of the circular room was surrounded with both humans and fur's alike. All yelling that the blood of the innocent was on his hands. As the level continued to rise he began to panic. As the blood rose over his head he was eventually forced to take a breath, and the life giving substance filled his lungs. He could feel his body screaming in protest. He was going to die, and there was nothing he could do about it. Just as he felt the life fading from his helpless body, he sat up and began screaming.

"Not again, never again! I'm sorry I tried to stop it, I couldn't stop it, and I wasn't good enough! I wasn't strong enough!"

A wave of emotion poured over him. Suddenly everything came flooding back to him. His name was Admiral Bill Williams, and he was a prisoner on the Vega Prison Station. He sank back down into the bed exhausted. Just then, the door of his room suddenly opened and two rather large looking wolves stepped in. Each took a hold of him and dragged him out of the cell and down the hallway. He was taken into an elevator, which began descending though the station. He knew where he was going, he would be interrogated once again. The ships that were dispatched to deal with the base were not heard from again, and twelve of his fleet had vanished. Questions needed to be answered, and Ulra wouldn't rest until she had them. He had never liked her; she had always struck him as a bit of a bitch.

Ulra sat in the interrogation room, a large brown wolf by her side. He had no name and no identity, he simply existed. He simply was, he was a foot soldier, and he had given his life to the wolf empire and had been deprogrammed and then reprogrammed for obedience. He would follow any order, commit any act, and do anything ordered. The empire had experimented with such technology, but had cast it aside as expensive and costly. He was a leftover of their experiments. He had been assigned to the prison because he was not fit to lead a normal life. Admiral Williams entered the room with the help of the two guards sent after him. He was thrown into a chair and tied to it. Ulra had already lost the data core to the rebels, she was not about to continue losing. Then come to find out not only had the commander of the ship assigned to her defect, the Admiral had as well. She was beyond mad, and would have her answers.

"Hello Ulra, ordinarily I would be turned on by being tied to a chair in such company. However, I assume the purpose of your visit to me is somewhat less than pleasant."

"Bill, at least you still have your pride. Let's see if we can't fix that problem. Give me what I want to know and your life might just improve."

"Go to hell."

With that the guard who had already been in the room struck Bill, hard. Not enough to knock him out, but more than enough to hurt.

"Lets try this again, but I'll be more direct this time. Where are your ships and what is the rebel alliance planning?"

"No clue, and you mean you lost my ships? Well that's certainly not good."

Once again he received a hard punch for his response. This continued for hours until it was clear that he couldn't take much more. He had been beaten to within an inch of his life. Ulra called the guards back into the room.

"Take him to medical and have him completely healed. Then bring him back here and we will continue our little discussion."

This cycle of beating, healing, and beating went on for days with brief period of rest. There were brief breaks as Ulra and another unknown figure changed places, but it continued. He wasn't allowed to sleep, he wasn't fed, and he was beaten over and over again. He wouldn't talk though; there was nothing they could do to make him talk. Eventually he was carried back to his room and deposited onto his bed. Although he had been healed on the outside, the damage was still done inside and not all of it had been healed. As he lay there he began to feel sleepy, so he drifted off to sleep, and into a coma. There would be no more beatings, as he was not conscious. As he drifted into his coma, the world faded to blackness and then morphed into the control room of his ship. He was onboard a ship, but the ship was empty. It was only him. He wandered through the ship for hours, and then he heard a voice. He recognized the voice as Dasher. There was no body to go with the voice. It simply said

"Hang in there Bill, I'm coming for you."

With that, he stood there, onboard the empty ship. Helpless to do anything expect wander. He had tried the controls on the bridge, not surprisingly they had not responded. He didn't think they would, but it was worth a try. He was trapped, if he woke up, the beatings would await him. If he stayed this way, he would starve and dehydrate. Either way death would find him. This way was better; it would be painless, as he had no feelings from the outside world. He felt no pain, no fear, and no joy. He wanted to let go but Dasher's disembodied voice kept urging him to hang in there. Was it possible that he would be rescued? Would his friend come for him? It couldn't hurt to hang on as long as possible just in case. He and Dasher had an interesting relationship. He had discovered Dasher on a distant planet. His men had found him and brought him to the Admiral. The Admiral took an interest in the Cheetah and hid him from the empire. Dasher kept saying something about not being from where he was, but Bill had never given it much thought. His relationship with Dasher had evolved beyond friendship, beyond brothers. He was not a lover to Dasher as he had made it clear that his heart belonged to another. Yet at the same time, there was a deep connection that neither made an effort to deny. Perhaps Dasher was really with him, and then again perhaps it was simply his mind trying to offer some comfort to him. Either way it comforted him to hear his friend's voice.

**Well, it seems as though the good Admiral has gotten himself into a bit of trouble. Abducted, abused, and in a coma, is there any help on the way? Is Dasher really with him in spirit or is Admiral Williams dieing mind simply trying to offer him a little comfort? We shall see**
