The Journey Pt. 2
10/3/2351 0700 Hours
The appearance of the crew sent down to the planet made me feel at ease. It didn't, however, made me feel any less anxious about heading down to the planet. They didn't understand my hesitation about this planet on which we've been assigned to look over. I've never been one to be heading to any planet. This one however scares the living hell out of me.
I had talked with Capitan Moulder; he does not share my concern. He said I'm just being paranoid, I somewhat agree with him, but with my memories of what happened I will not be able to rest peacefully if I caused their deaths. What happened on that planet is a complete mystery, although, the entire research facility was compromised.
Silver and I have talked a little bit since we arrived. She has not been able to detect anything else on the planet in the area of question. At least, none of human thought, which I had already expected.
Today we are going down to the planet. I am one of the first crews to head down to the area. I am worried and I can't seem to think of anything else at the moment. I feel sick to my stomach I can't seem to believe that this is going to end well. I am making sure we're all wearing Hazmat suits in order to prevent anything from spreading.
All of a sudden the proximity alarm started blaring. I rushed to the bridge to find out what was going on. Everyone else was heading to their appropriate battle positions. This was something I wasn't afraid of and yet going to a planet where people disappeared scares me to death.
"What the hell's going on," I asked about the Capitan.
"Hell if I know," Capitan Moulder replied.
"Captain, enemy drop ship inbounds," the navigation officer reported.
"Blast their asses out of the sky," Capitan Moulder ordered.
"Only two life signs detected a board, sir" the navigation officer replied," were also receiving a message from said the enemy ship. It says they do not wish to harm us."
"Fine let them board," he replied, "have them picked up and brought here immediately upon landing."
They did as ordered that took them 10 minutes, but they had brought the two humans up to the command deck. The one was somewhat short and a little chubby. The other was tall and skinny and was tan. For some odd reason I felt I had met these two before in my life. And probably wasn't too far off either. My suspicions were confirmed when one of them spoke up.
"Todd," the tall one said, "it's me John, the pilot."
"Oh, my god," the shorter one said, "Todd it really is you! It's me Jacob."
"Holy, shit," I said rather quite astonished.
"Wait you know them," Capitan Moulder asked.
"Hell yeah I know them," I replied, "I only knew them for five years."
We talked with them for quite a long time. We caught up, on happenings past and present. It felt good catching up with them. After a while I cut to the chase, if they would ally themselves with us or not. They said they would and agreed to go down to the planet with us.
Several hours later Mary came down to the drop ships and told me I was going. I decided there was no point in arguing with her. I gave her a Hazmat suit, and she suited up. She is so determined to see every aspect of these humans.
We went down to the surface. The facility was in a heavily forested area. Jacob and John were as worried if not more worried than I was. And I could shake an apple tree of all its fruit about now. We arrived at the facility the lights were still on so it must not be as bad as we thought.
We entered the facility the door slammed closed behind us. Oh that's not scary at all; I only just pissed myself a bit. We proceeded deeper into this facility, as we did the signs of fights started building up. Bullets were spread out in all directions. Then the infected that were killed started appearing. Some were furs, others human. They all looked grotesque in every way, shape, and form.
The first real room that appeared was the med bay. We went in to the room; apparently they had cut open these bodies. I took a look inside all the organs were liquefied, like some sort of blender got to them first. These stupid ass humans wanted a biological weapon that could destroy everything.
"Jesus," John said.
"This is the worst disease known to man I think," Jacob said.
"This is horrible," Silver said.
"Let's keep moving," I said.
We went out of there, thank god I was about to puke. The next room was just a bunch of computers that were damaged. By something that I assume was inhuman. Just the sheer ferocity of it made me tingle. I think all of the scientists were dead. We then heard screeching. One of the infected came out of the vent in front of us. We all pumped it full of lead, and then it lay there dead. This could be a bad idea...
