The next few weeks passed in a blur for Infinity. Each day something different, although none having the torture of the previous Starday. It seemed the wizard was too busy with his apprentice to keep to his usual schedule of experiments. Which was good for her, she used the time to think about ways of escaping. She spent the nights talking to the human that had snuck his way into her heart. He stayed up with her to the wee hours reading her book after book, to which she was intently focused on. Her favorite she found out was fantasy stories about heroic dragons, epic quests, and tales about magic. She had smiled as Axton chuckled about her rapt attention.

Then the Starday rolled around, and sure enough the wizard brought her into the room to test her heads just like before. However this time when he did so, she found she could control the heads. She had nearly bursted out laughing in glee as she controlled both of her new heads in perfect harmony. She remembered looking to the wizard with smug grins, and despite him she took satisfaction in it. She thought to Axton and could not help but think his injection of happiness into her life had somehow helped.

The wizard had been most surprised, even chuckling at her success. Without another word he sent her on her way. The next Starday he did the same thing, and the Starday after that. Infinity had held her head up each time, overjoyed she was besting his little "tests". This continued on until once again at the end of the month, something changed in her routine.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

"Graaaaah!" Infinity roared, as she was awoken to cold piercing water splashing across her snout. She wrinkled her snout and barred her teeth at being woken from such a pleasant dream. It had been about flying, she was sure about it, and Axton had been there. She wiped the water from her eyes as she narrowed them and looked around for the source of her irritation.

"Have you been enjoying your days Infinity?" The wizard asked from above her enclosure. A grin curling onto his face. He folded his arms against his chest, his midnight black robe flowing ever so slightly. It was almost like all the light around the thing was being pulled in, it looked unnatural and made Infinity uneasy just looking at it.

"Y-yes." She replied slowly, standing onto all fours. She could not help it as a large, tongue curling yawn came to her maw. She shook herself from snout to tail as she unfolded her wings against her back. Well, here we go again. She held her snout up to gaze at the man. What tests will you subject me to this time?

"Well you will love to know that today will require little to no effort on your part!" The wizard clapped his hands together smiling down at her with his teeth showing. "Now, if you enter the usual room, you will be rewarded for your compliance!" He gestured to the door that slowly slid open from her enclosure to reveal the dark corridor she was all too familiar with by now.

Her senses warned her of what was to come. It was just too strange. This had never happened before. What could this test be that requires me to do more effort? And why did he say there would be a reward? There is never a reward. She hated to admit it, but she was curious of what this reward was going to be. Part of her even told her it was going to be something nice, but with a quick shake of her head she drowned that thought. There is NEVER a reward Infinity. Don't be fooled by his sweet lies.

Infinity slowly placed one paw after the other, walking along the dark corridor that still blocked her nightvision from working. She entered the room that was like some twisted home for her by now. She shivered at the thought of that. However, the room that had held her dried blood for so long now was pristine. She took a deep breath and smelled some sort of sharp smell, one that made her wrinkle her nose. They cleaned it, She took a hesitant step onto the stone, dragging her talon along it. Why....Why did they do that? Her eyes quickly darted from corner to corner, looking for anything that might be lying in wait to ambush her. She stood with her nerves on edge for several minutes, twitching her ears, her heart pounding in anticipation. However with a sigh she finally sat down on her haunches, and curled her tail around her. What do you have in store for me?

The stone door that had opened so many times before did so again with a loud scrape. The wizard strolled forth with a smile on his face. In his boney hand is held a glass vial, with a pitch black liquid inside. It sloshed around in the container as he made his way to the dragon. Her eyes instantly locked onto the vial, as a small pit began to grow in her stomach and made it ache.

"Now be a good dear and drink this potion down for me." He gestured to the potion with a wave of his other hand. "I wish to test and improve your regenerative abilities."

If this will get the test over with. She gave a slight shrug and snaked her snout down towards him. It could always be worse. At least there is no pain involved. She grabs the vial carefully in her claws, uncorks the thing and dumps the liquid down her open maw. "ACCCCCKKKK" She spits out, nearly throwing up as the vile liquid washed down her throat. "AACKCKKC!" She clutches at her throat, the vial falling from her grasp and shattering onto the floor.

"Well it was not supposed to taste GOOD." The wizard chuckled. "Function over pleasure."

"Baaaah." She snarled, curling her mouth at the bitter aftertaste lingering on her tongue. She then felt the liquid settle in her stomach, and a cooling sensation spread out to all her limbs. Like she was slowly being submerged in ice cold water.

"How do you feel?"

"Cold" She shivered slightly.

"Good, then the potion is working my dear." He turned around holding up one of his hands. "So what the potion is doing is increasing your regeneration abilities. So in theory you should be able to regrow limbs, or organs very much like you regrow your heads." He glances back at her, stroking his beard softly. "Although you won't grow an additional set."

She felt the pit growing inside her get larger, as her body started to tremble. She did not like the idea of this all being in theory. Images flashed in her mind of missing a leg or forelimb. Or what if I lose my wings? She looked to her membranes, than back to the wizard. Please don't let him take my wings.

"Now you will be delighted to know Infinity, you will not be the ONLY one tested today."

"Wha-" her brain stumbled forward suddenly, OH NO.

Sure enough through the stone door came the creaking of a metal wheel on stone. There was a small metal cart that was pushed into the room, with none other than Axton behind it. The boys eyes turn to look at Infinity, and she sees them widen, darken, and then fill with fear.

Infinity looked to the dull metal tray that her human was pushing along. On the top of it was a thin white sheet with numerous metal objects that looked sharp and pointy. She shivered at what they were going to be used for. Her thoughts brought her back to the wizard's words are regrowing limbs and organs. Oh... no.

"Good you could be prompt as usual, Axton. You will be assisting me today with this experiment." The wizard turned to Infinity with a sly grin.

Leave him out of this you twisted...vile...horrible...

"I... " Axton stumbles through his words, hardly getting out anything audible except, "Dont, no... What?"

"What is the matter, apprentice?" The wizard crossed his arms.

"I don't want to hurt her."

"Oh come now Axton. She won't be in any REAL pain. Besides, she will regrow things like NEW!"

"It....I..." Axton shakes his head,.

Please.Just do whatever he says.I can take it. She stared at Axton, hoping her thoughts could be conveyed without her snout.

"I came here to test her my dear apprentice, but do YOU need a reprimand from your master for being disobedient?"

"I don't want to hurt her." Axton holds his head up, eyes filling with tears.

"Very well than Axton. This pains me to do this, but just as you must reprimand your children I shall do the same with you." The wizard holds up a single finger towards the boy, and a small grey cloud flies towards him, enveloping him in it's embrace.

Axton lets out a scream as thin red lines are lashed into his skin one by one. Infinity looked away, unable to watch what was happening. She cringed as Axton let out another loud scream that lingered in the air, it made her scales shiver all over and her talons twitch.

"Now I ask again dear apprentice."

"I......dddddd.....ooooooo....nnnnnn.ttttttt"

"Ah...very well."

Infinity peaked back at Axton, clearly the lines that are drawn on his arms deepen, and Axton lets out another pained scream. He collapsed onto the ground, as the cloud dissipated from him. Axton lets out silent cry, gasping for breath.

"Now I repeat myself Axton...Do it."

Infinity felt her anxiety grow, her breath increasing as Axton struggles to stand up. She could feel her blood starting to boil as she glared at the wizard. What are you doing? He is going to hurt you! She even bared her teeth and let out a loud audible growl, as she rose up onto all fours and took a step towards the wizard. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

"Oh...If this is not adorable." The wizard snaps his fingers, and she feels the pain from her neck spread to the rest of her body. Infinity takes a twitching pained step towards him, struggling more than she had ever before to get closer to Axton. However as her paw touches the ground she succumbs and collapses into a twitching pile of scales.

"Please stop!" Axton screams out, she barely heard him over the sounds of her own groans.

"Than take that knife there, and sever her right forepaw!" The wizard snarls.

Infinity groaned and twisted as her tail thrashed onto the ground. She blinked her eyes to see the wizard pointing towards her, and Axton taking slow hesitant steps toward her.

"Oh this is ridiculous.....Infinity ask him to hurt you please."

You......m-monster. Infinity turned her twitching head towards him, and gave him a death glare with her eyes. The only bit of resistance she could muster. She however held her snout shut, not saying a word.

"Infinity."

"Axton....just do it." she said flatly.

Axton approaches her and holds the blade against her forepaw, his hands starting to shake. Tears formed in the edge of his eyes as he looked up into her eyes. "I'm....so sorry." he whispers, and pushed down to make the first cut. IT glides through her flesh with easy, and after several more passes, and screams from Axton it plops to the ground.

Infinity stares down at the bleeding stump of her limb. The pain nothing compared to what she had been subjected to. Please regrow.. She stared at it for a moment, the dread starting to fill her at being without one of her limbs.

"Well perhaps I was wro-"

Infinity feels a warm sensation on her limb, that tingles all around. Sure enough with a loud slurp noise, her limb regrows itself almost instantly. She waved it in the air, it certainly felt like her normal limb. She twitched all of her claws, finding they felt exactly the same. She breathed a sigh of relief.

"Well it looks like we can continue with the experiment then." The wizard clasps his hands together with a clap.

Is this not enough for you? She glanced at Axton, her eyes tracing along the red lines carved into his arm. She snapped her attention to the wizard, narrowing her eyes.

"Now Axton let us continue with something a tad smaller." the wizard gestured to Infinity. "I do not like the way she is looking at me right now. Take this knife" He picked up a knife and shoved it into the reluctant boys hands. "And cut her eyes out."

Infinity flinched at the thought. _At least they will regrow..._She spotted Axton's hands trembling.

"Do it boy, or I will take your eyes instead."

Just do it Axton...please.. Infinity lowered her head in submission. "Just get it over with."

"How can you do this to her?" Axton shouted as he turned to the wizard.

"This is your LAST warning Axton." the wizard sighs, than backhanding the boy to the ground. "Now cut her eyes out!"

Infinity watched him stand up slowly once again, flashing her a look of hopelessness in his eyes. The violation, and absolute terror she knew had been in her eyes at some point. Be strong Axton.. She begs to herself as the human drags his feet towards her, his hands still trembling as they held onto the knife.

"Please....Forgive me." Axton rose the knife towards her eyes. "Please someone.....please..." tears start to drip from his eyes.

"I am waiting my dearest apprentice. If I do not have her eyes in the next few minutes, I WILL be taking yours instead."

Come on Axton...be brave. She looked him right in the eye, giving the human a small nod. She did not flinch as Axton nods and plunges the knife into her eye socket. It surprised her how little it hurt. It was like a little needle poking into her, but not enough she was reduced to a twitching mess. She steadies herself as Axton finished by scooping out that eye in a single motion. Infinity let out a small whimper, as she placed her tail between her legs.

"Now bring the eye over here my boy. Do not drop it!"

She heard Axton let out a muffled cry as he walked back to the metal tray, and placed the blood covered orb that had been in her head.

"Now time for the other one!"

"Axton..." She whispered as he made his way back over to her. "It's okay."

He lets out small cry, as he plunged the blade once more into the other eye socket. Her vision goes black as Axton scoops out her other eye. She lowered herself to the floor with another weak whimper, praying her eyes would regrow. She twitched her tail as the tingling sensation from before radiates through her eye sockets. With a slight pop her vision suddenly explodes back, to see Axton placing her second bloody eye onto the metal tray. The wizard stands there with his arms crossed, with a grin on his face.

"I think those will be a nice thing to add to my study." The wizard chuckles. "Not as grand as the Lund's of course, but it will look nice."

Infinity trembled slightly as a grin appeared on his face, and he begins to stroke his beard. What was he thinking? The thought filled her with dread.

"Now which organ should we test next?" He strides over and places a hand on her chest. "Perhaps something bigger?" He taps her chest three times. "Perhaps this time we shall try your heart?" He suddenly pulls a black blade from the very air, it's surface looked unnatural as it seemed to absorb all light. He turns back towards Axton and thrusts it into the boy's hands. "Now take this blade and plunge it into MY dragon's heart. That will be the end of the experiment for today I imagine."

Infinity breathed rapidly, as he heart began to thump faster. She knew the last two times she had regrown her limb, than her eyes. However this time it filled her with even more dread. Will it work If I am killed? She shook her head slightly trying to not think about what it. What will Axton go through if he is the one that kills me? She narrowed her eyes and gulped.

Axton takes a few test breaths as he raised the black sword. "It's going to be okay." he muttered to himself.

Infinity tensed her muscles, twitching her paws on the stone. She closed her eyes, taking yet another deep breath. Please....let it not hurt. She held her head up, moving her snout away from the trembling boy.

With a single thrust up into a vital spot she feels the spike of metal pierce her heart. She staggers backwards as blood drips down from the wound, letting out a soft whimper. Her vision starts to cloud with stars as she holds up a claw to caress the gaping wound. With a pained gasp she feels the warming sensation again, and the wound seal itself shut.

"There we are!" the wizard smiles.

Infinity let out a groan, struggling to stay on all fours. She found herself focusing on Axton, and how he looked so frightened right not. Axton.... She padded softly over towards the trembling human.I'm...okay.....

"Well done both of you." the wizard gestures to the door behind her that had sprung open with a thud. "And Axton..." his voice lowers into a snarl. "For your disobedience you will be spending the rest of the evening with this dragon you are so fond of. Continue to resist me...and you share her fate within this place."

Axton does not reply and just hangs his head in silence.

Infinity wrapped a wing around the boy and let him down the dark corridor. She used his pain to find the strength to not wobble down the hallway. I must look strong for him...._She spied him rubbing the still bleeding wounds on his arms. She glanced down to her own scars, her eyes narrowing. _You are going to end up like me.... She arced her head back, imagining she was looking at the wizard. If you hurt him again I will rip into you......Than she thought about what the wizard would do to her, what kind of sick torture he would subject her to. It would be worth it....to spare the boy the pain...

When the two had returned to her enclosure Infinity curled up into a ball. She grabbed him by the scruff of his shirt with her mouth, and placed him in the center of her curl. She opened her maw and began licking along the wounds on his arms.

"I'm so sorry." He repeated over and over as he began to sob with his head hung.

She responded to his cries by holding him closer in her embrace. Hoping the closeness would sooth him as she continued to lick along his wounds.

"I didn't want to....didn't want to..."

"Shhhhhhhh." She rumbled, as she continued her methodical licking.

"How can you be okay?" He asked after several minutes of silent licking. "I h-hurt you so badly!"

"Shhhhhhh Axton." She cood as she finished her licking. "It's okay...I'm here." She rested her head on his. She gave out a sigh as the human's eyes start to droop, than close. She let out a small snort of air that rustled his hair. She closed her own eyes, clutching the human tightly within her paws. You have me here for you Axton....We will survive this....Together.
