Kiara and Nala's death might be seen as a freak accident, but more sinister forces are behind them, but who's the culprit? Will their lies be revealed and will bloodshed and war bequeath the Pridelands? Many questions without answers happens when one resides in the Circle of Lies

Sorrow bequeathed the Pridelands upon a rainy afternoon. Thick torrents of rain washed upon the dry grassy lands, saturating the baked earth, causing it to become extremely muddy. Lightning clashed upon the darkened sky, thunder roared like an angry lion, its voice echoed throughout the landscape.

The lionesses had gathered at the summit of Priderock, facing their beloved King Simba, who was grief-stricken. Standing next to him, was also another male lion, one with dark brown fur and black mane. One that almost looked like him. The one lion that the entire pride had grown to fear.

But of course, this lion wasn't like who he appeared to be, no. He has changed over the coming years of his description and lies from his past. He was born to follow in the footsteps of his father, a lion full of hate and murder. But he managed to abstain that path and chose another one.

He was the mate to the lioness who had been found dead but a few nights ago. Kovu was his name and Kiara be the name of the deceased. The whole Prideland was stricken with grief and full of mourning. But Simba probably was the most afflicted. For not only did his daughter pass but so did his beloved mate.

It was a freak accident, many have come to call it. The Lionesses were out on a hunt, their prey had led them to the gorge. The same gorge in which Simba's father met his own fate. Lightning streaks the sky, its silver light illuminating the gray hues that invaded the Kingdom.

A clash of thunder shakes the ground, causing some of the animals to be startled. Simba, approaches the edge of the rock, staring into oblivion. "Today, we mark the remembrance, of two wonderful lionesses, who gave their lives so that we may continue with our own." He began to say.

Simba was holding back a lot of pain, that much Kovu knew. He could see it written all over his muzzle, despite the fact that half of it was hidden away behind thick locks of red mane. Kovu took deep breaths and listened.

"Kiara and Nala, they had done a great deal of our Pride. Nala, my love, brought me back to face my past, and conquer it, while Kiara, well. She brought us all together, as one." Tears began to stream down his eyes now. Despite the rain blended with them rather well, Kovu knew the scent of salted tears.

Kovu walked over to him and wrapped his head around Simba's neck, who then buried himself in Kovu's black mane, sobbing.

"Kiara and Nala performed a great deal many duties to our pride, and it is up to us to remember them, never forget their courage, faith, and devotion to this pride," Kovu said with his stern tone of voice. The lionesses were also sobbing, nuzzling one another for comfort.

An elephant from the herd of animals trumpet and began to stamp his feet to the ground, the other elephants began the Lionesse's Lament, other animals began to join in. Kovu escorted Simba inside the cave, where the both of them were now alone.

'Kill him, now Kovu!' Zira's voice echoed in the back of his mind. It caused the young lion to wince, remembering those dark days when Zira tried to get him to murder Simba. He shrugged it off and continued to focus on Simba.

"You did fine, our majesty," Kovu reassured Simba as he watched the large lion slump into a heap. Those golden orbs gaze up toward Kovu through his crimson mane. "Thank you, for finishing for me." He said, his voice choked by the tears.

Kovu sat down on his haunches, a few lengths away from the lion. His dark fur almost made him blend into the darkness of the cave, but those green orbs of his ignited like crackling flames of a wildfire.
