  • Shadow stared at the papers on her desk, her face straight as ever, minus a slight frown.

"I'm not too sure this plan would work," she said, leaning back in her chair. She opened up a drawer and withdrew a folder, laying it atop the dark wood surface that was her desk. "The region is too populated, and I would prefer to avoid civilian casualties."

Ezekiel nodded slowly. Of course, he had thought this out.

"Yes, we would be hunting them in one of the few civilized sectors left on the planet, which would of course mean a huge potential for civilian deaths. But if we can't nail them in Rome, then we risk allowing this organization to spread outside of the Dakota sector and into ours, which would make an attack inevitable," he explained, crossing his arms. "Besides, Nyx already has a plan for dealing with the locals."

Shadow slid the file across her desk to the soldier, who picked it up and peeked inside. The woman sighed and activated her COM.

"Nyx, I want your squadron airborne within the hour." She looked back at Ezekiel. "And remember to save a seat for Zeke," she said, then to Ezekiel: "You should probably get down to the hangars, Nyx can be impatient."

The soldier nodded, and after a quick salute, spun on his heels and exited the room.

"I swear to god you are going to be late to your own funeral," Nyx said, sliding her respirator over her face. The black mask seemed to make her already pale skin seem whiter, making her seem to almost glow. She lowered the ramp to allow Ezekiel access to the fury's cockpit. The small VTOL shuddered slightly as the soldier boarded and climbed into the co-pilot's seat, directly behind where Nyx sat.

"I'm not late, you just have a habit of rushing," Zeke said with a shrug, sliding his own respirator over his mouth. "But I'm here now, and we have a strict time allowance, so i suggest we get to it."

Nyx rolled her eyes and flipped the switch that would lower the cockpit door. She had already warmed up the engines, so that the second the hatch closed, the Fury shot upwards. The pilot grinned inside her mask when Ezekiel clutched the sides of the cockpit.

"Alpha One to units two through six, our destination is Rome, ETA one hour," Nyx said through her COM. She glanced back at Ezekiel. "Hold on tight, we have a terrorist to catch."
