Long ago the moon fell to earth. She was a beautiful young woman with long, flowing, silver hair, light blue eyes, and an hourglass figure. She wore a dress made out of stardust and walked among the world's brightest denizens. She took on the name Lumia Nox. She met a man named Solaris Royale. The two would meet in secret so that Solaris' family wouldn't know anything about his beloved girl. Lumia fell deeper and deeper in love with Solaris each day. Eventually the two were wed by Gaia Atlas. Lumia and Solaris went by an old ritual that combined their hearts into one and allowed them to shed their mortal form. Lumia took Solaris with her into the stars where they lived together in peace and harmony with the stars.

As the years passed Lumia noticed that Solaris was slowly growing distant from her. She worried it was something she did so she tried to convince him to tell her what she did wrong. He would reply "Nothing my love. It's not something you did but something I myself did. I can't tell you what I've done you just need to know that I love you with all my heart but we can't always be together." Lumia worried about what her husband meant when he said such things and slowly started to wane with the passing of time and the hurt in her heart growing with each passing night. However eventually Solaris noticed what was happening to his beloved and took her into his arms saying "I don't want you to waste away my beautiful Lumia, I need you to be the cooling darkness of a starry night in my life. Please don't leave me."

Lumia smiled and said "It's alright dear I'm not leaving you, I, I just feel as though this is something I need to do." And as she said that she faded away into the darkness of the night leaving Solaris alone. He cried out for his love for many nights until he caught the faintest glimmer of her eyes. With each day he professed his love for her and the glimmer grew. Slowly he was able to make out the figure of her standing almost as if surrounded by shadow. He called out to her and heard her whisper "I'm fine my love. You're feelings are bringing me back to myself."

Solaris said "I need you Lumia. I need you to be the breath in my lungs, the light in my heart, and the shadow in my soul. The thing I didn't tell you is that I am a son of the sun. My father originally had forbid me from seeing you, but you must know that I cannot. I may be a child of the sun, but I am the lover of the moon. As you wax toward full from my love I shall recite poems of love, happiness, and peace. As you wane away from me I shall sing songs of sorrow until I see you once again. I love you Lumia and I will do all in my power to be with you forever."

As time went on and she came back into full Lumia hugged Solaris to her and said "The stars as my witness, I will love you from now to the end of eternity. However I fear we can't be together forever. I wax and wane as your love grows and vanishes. My tears fall to the earth and change things. I wish for you to be with you forever more but I know we cannot as your father will take you away from me. So I shall hide as I wane and come back to you as I wax. I know we could have lived together on the earth as mortals but I would have eventually lost you to time. I'm sorry my love I will never forget you." Solaris cried out as his heart was broken and his love started to leave as she started to wane. Hearing his cry the wolves and canines of the earth howled out to the sky begging the moon to return.

The birds and other beasts screeched, yowled, and called out for the moon to know that she was loved as Solaris fell to earth. He knew that as the moon gained in fullness she would find him however for now he would hide on the earth so his father wouldn't find them. As the moon waxes, the voices of the animals wane. As the moon wanes the voices of the animal wax until there is nothing left for them to see. Solaris guides the animals in his quest for his love. His strength wanes as the moon falls away and waxes as she gains in strength as well. That's why the phases of the moon mean so much to the children of the sun. That's why the wolves and animals howl at night. The cycles of the moon are the same as the cycles of the heart. As one falls deeper in love their heart grows with light, but as the one we love gets father away the heart fades into obscurity as we fear that we are not loved in return. However if you hold on the light of the moon will remind you that love is for all.

Well this wasn't my best work but honestly I'm happy with it to a point. I'm going to start producing more short stories like this as well as my usual sexual content as time goes on. Honestly be on the look out for my next book Walk in West Moor Woods. Hope you enjoyed and see you next time.
