The door to the enormous room opened and Wargreymon and weregarurumon entered.
"What do you think'" asked Weregarurumon.

The room was equipped with artificial weather, a small bar, a private gym and a huge Jacuzzi.
"I meant about the tournament" said the wolf "that strange being didn't even told us his name"
"I think we should just wait, I'm sure things will get clear after the first fight"
Just then, another two contestants entered the room. A tyrannosaur with red scales and a golden retriever.
"I call top bunk" said the retriever smiling when he saw the bunk beds "Name's Hunter, nice to meet you"
War and Were greeted Hunter with a handshake. The dinosaur just walked towards the center of the room and turned to face them.
"I am Ghenghis Rex, leader of the tyrannos, and you'd better stay out of my way"
"it seems it's going to be fun to have roommates" said Hunter.
"Chill out pal" said Wargreymon to Rex "We shouldn't fight outside the tournament, besides, we're all good fighters, that's the reason we were brought here in the first pace."
Rex didn't answered and left the room.
Somewhere else, Brooklyn, Shiron and Splinter entered the huge gym. Unlike the private gyms on the rooms, the main gym had at least ten of each workout items. One of the walls was totally covered by mirrors. There were weights to up to a ton and some devices they had never seen.
"This is a little like the battle nexus" said Splinter "But it's more... how to say it?"
"Awesome" said Brooklyn.
"Something like that"
"Well, we should continue exploring" said Shiron.
The gym to a big locker and shower room, there was also a door leading to a sauna. There were at least 15 shower heads and the walls were covered with clear blue tiles.
"those beings considered everything" said Shiron "I wonder when we'll know who is in the first match"
"And I wonder if they have cheese burgers in the dinning room" said Brooklyn.
On another room, commander Krugger opened a small drawer next to his bed.
"How did they knew my size?" he said pulling a couple of shirts with the SPD logo.
"They seem to know everything about us" said a dragon with red scales and green hair "They even know what I need to study for tomorrow's homework... my name is Jake"
The dragon pulled a math book from the drawer and tossed it over his bed.
"Anubis, doggie Krugger" said the commander taking the dragon's claw "Aren't you a little young to be here?"
"I think so myself" said Jake "But apparently I have some skills, so..."
A flat screen descended from the ceiling and lit, showing the complete list of contestants. The list started disappearing until only two names remained:

After that, a map indicating the place where the arena was appeared and a timer with a countdown indicating there were still two hours left for the match.
"I think we have plenty of time to go look for a snack" said Jake "I'm starving"
Jon Talbain was watching the same screen in his own room. His roommates were Greedo, Allo and Razor.

"Indeed" said the stegosaur "Looks like those beings are going to get as much profit from us as they can. There's a sensor in this panel measuring the energy we are releasing in this very moment"
Stegz stood up and looked at the AC grid, he noticed there were small cells on each side very similar to the ones used to catch solar energy.
"And they use this to convert the energy we generate when we remain here, I'm sure there are panels like this all over the place"
"If that's the case" said Blitz panting "If it's energy they want, they better get it now"
The Doberman continued working his pectoral on the machine.
"I alone could give them all the energy they need"
"I think our friend is a little cocky" said a blue feathered falcon standing next to Stegz.
"Yeah, but he has a point. Maybe we should train a little and see if we can get this over with faster... but there's still something that keeps making me curious"
"What is it?"
"The beings that brought us here said we were going to experience changes in our conduct, unusual changes that would maximize our energy production... I think I know what the meant now"

Falco did as Stegz asked and as soon as he got nearer he noticed the heavy musk coming from the dobbie's body. If the life of any of the fighters was put in danger, the match would stop immediately and the fighter with the less damage would win. Talbain felt a small tingling on his head and realized it was some sort of mental binding to stop him from using his special techniques. The cage door closed and Talbain took his fighting stance. Rex attacked immediately, roaring and charging against Talbain, he expected to break the dog's neck with a single punch. Talbain studied Rex's movements close, analyzing every step of the tyrannosaur. He dodged Rex's sharp claws in the last second and hit the reptile's stomach with all his strength. The air escaped from Rex's lungs and the big dino staggered backwards.
"What happened? I thought you wanted to show off" said Talbain.
Rex didn't answered and tried to attack again. Talbain dodged the punch, but he missed the muscled dinosaur tail and got the full impact on his chest. Rex took the full advantage of the situation and attacked again, his shoulder hitting the wolf's chest and sending him bouncing against the cage wall. Talbain felt like all the bones on his chest were broken, but he managed to stay focused. He saw Rex charging again and crouched. Rex's fist hit the cage bars and Talbain managed to connect two more hits on Rex's abdomen. The dinosaur staggered backwards again and Talbain jumped, landing a solid kick on Ghengis's chin, causing the dinosaur to fall on his knees. Talbain approached, but too late he noticed Rex's tail had wrapped around his ankle and pulled him off balance. Rex grinned and caught the wolf on a bear hug with his strong arms. Talbain howled in pain and tried to release from the iron hard grip. Seeing the wolf still showed resistance, Rex caught Talbain's shoulder between his powerful jaws. The wolf felt like a thousand needles pierced his skin. The strong pain gave him a little extra jolt and he managed to release from the dinosaur's deadly grip. Talban kicked a couple more times. Rex dodged the first one, but the second kick made him give a few steps back. Talbain fell on the ground, trying to get up.
"I told you dog, No one can defeat Ghengis Rex"
"You fight without honor" said Talbain holding his injured shoulder.
"Who gives a shit about honor?" laughed Rex and charged to finish the wolf.
Talbain moved to one side, but Rex had anticipated the move and tried to hit him with his tail again. The wolf managed to catch the thick tail and gave it a hard bite. Rex screamed in pain and saw each of the wolf's fangs carved on his tail, this enraged him and he threw another punch at the wolf, Talbain dodged it and kicked the dinosaur's hard skull. Rex lost his balance for a second and Talbain charged again, his fist was a few millimeters from hitting the dinosaur's neck when Rex managed to hold the wolf's arm. Rex roared and threw Talbain up, then focused all his strength on his fist and threw an uppercut, hitting Talbain square on the jaw. The wolf fell on the floor unconscious and Rex roared triumphant.
The cage door opened and Rex descended the small steps to meet a yellow colored raptor with iron jaw.
"Not bad" said Bad rap "you look promising"
Talbain's limp body started floating in the air as it was transported to the infirmary.
All the players received a telepathic message announcing the next match would be in six hours.
"I haven't noticed" said Hunter, there's no visible sun here, there's no way to tell day and night apart.
"I'm not even sure these beings understand that concept" said Kruger standing next to him. "I'm sure we still have lots to discover about this strange world"
The fighters scattered around thinking how to make use of their time until the next match.
