The following day, Nick was getting ready for his visit to the hospital. He took a pair of headphones and clipped his sunglasses to his shirt, checking the weather.

"Nick, you heading out?" Judy called from the kitchen.

"Yep, gonna go visit the family vegetable."

"I'm gonna take the kids to the park, do you have your phone?"

"Yeah, I got it. Later Carrots."

"Have fun handsome!" Judy called back as Nick walked out the door. Stashing his phone away he slipped into the car and pulled out onto the street. He couldn't help feeling a little down after last night, his love life with Judy had slowed down quite a bit. Though hugs, kisses and cuddles were in no short supply, they had not mated in months. A significant break from their frequent habits before.

Pulling into the hospital parking lot, he threw his pass up on the dash and headed inside. Approaching the counter he produced his name tag and badge, waving down the two does working behind it.

"Hey girls, how's things going?"

"Oh! Hey officer Wilde. Pretty good, here for another visit?"

"You know it." Nick smiled, taking note of her slightly protruding belly. "Well, looks like someone's got a little bun in the oven."

"Yep! I'm expecting a little boy! I'm so excited, although it's a bit fast. Tom and I have only been dating a year now." She giggled, clasping her hooves together.

"Well that's one way to make a quick buck." He quipped. The other deer behind the counter gave a good loud laugh while the other just threw her head back at the pun. "So is my old pops still out like a light?"

"Yeah, he's still snoozing."

"Figured as much. Still, might as well pop in and talk with him a while." The doe sitting at the computer swung around in her chair and spoke up.

"I think it's so sweet you coming to visit him so often."

"Yeah, no kidding." The other chimed in.

"Well I don't as often but, I can only come every second or third weekend lately with the kids and all." Nick explained.

"Hey, we have some patients that are lucky to get a visit every year. You're still a babe in my book." She giggled.

"Thanks sweet cheeks. I'll catch ya on the way out."

"Bye!" She waved as Nick headed for the elevator. Hitting the button for the eighth floor, he leaned back against the rail and sighed.

"Still a vegetable. Hmph, starting to wonder how pissed he'll be if he does ever wake up." He spoke to himself. Stepping out into the hall, he walked down and into Parker's room. Sure enough, asleep in the bed was his father, the early afternoon sun just inching off his bed. "Hey old timer, how's it hangin?" Nick greeted, pulling up a chair. Sitting down he clasped his hands together and glanced between the TV on the wall and his father. "Still out like a light huh? Figures. You know I always wonder if what I did was right by you. Like if you wanted to die that day and put everything to rest. Oshu messed you up so bad, but at least the cancer's all gone." Nick shuffled over and took hold of Parker's paw. "Just wish I knew for sure, you know? Well, guess I should fill ya in huh? Judy and me are doing alright, though things in bed have been kinda slow. Jason's gonna start school this year, kindergarten in September. Unreal huh? Seems like it was just a year or two ago Judy was in here giving birth to him. It's crazy how fast time flies. You get into the routine, settle down. Don't get me wrong, I love my girl and I love my cubs but, sometimes it just feels like it's all going too fast. I don't get to see Patrick and Finnick as much anymore, every party I go to now is birthday cakes, balloons and cubs. I guess I just miss the old days, you know? You probably do too."

Nick rose up to his feet and eased the chair back with his foot. Slipping cautiously into Parker's bed, he cuddled in and draped a paw across his father. "You're an ass you know that right? I finally get ya back and you spend the whole time asleep." Nick smiled. "Well, not your fault. Hope you don't mind if I catch a nap. Liam was up with night terrors again last night and it was my turn to cradle him to sleep." Nick yawned. "Night pops."

After just under two hours, Nick was woken up by the vibration of his phone. Pulling it out of his pocket, he placed it to rest on Parker's chest and swiped the screen. It was a picture of Judy holding Jason as he swung along the monkey bars. Nick chuckled and started texting her back.

"What a cute little monkey we got, Carrots. ;)" Nick gave another soft laugh as the text went off. Rolling onto his back, he just caught a glance at his father when he realized something was immediately off. Parker's eyes were wide open. Nick felt his heart stop in his chest, his jaw slacked and his hands started shaking. "D-d-dad?" He breathed, barely able to get the worlds out. Parker didn't say a word, just stared at Nick, unblinking and unmoving. "Dad.. Dad! It's me, Nick!" Nick stroked his father's head briefly before leaping out of the bed. He took Parker's hand and placed his other on his head. "Dad, can you hear me?" Parker clasped Nick's hand a little tighter, but didn't speak. "Oh god." He stammered. "Ok, what do I do? Think. Right, ok. Dad, listen to me. You're ok, you're safe. You're at Zootopia General Hospital; you've been in a coma for a while. I'm right here though, you're gonna be ok, I'm staying right here with you."

Parker tried to speak but could only give a soft little stammer. Nick leaned in and nuzzled him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Shh, it's ok. If you can't speak, how bout this. Give me one squeeze for yes, two for no, ok? Are you in any pain?" Parker gave his son a single squeeze. "Ok, we'll get that taken care of. Do you recognize me?" Parker quickly gave two and started to tear up. Nick dove in and gave him another kiss on the cheek. "That's good Dad, It's ok, I got ya. Can you move anything; you're other arm, your leg?" Parker seemed to be trying but his arms were shaking intensely along with his legs. "Alright easy, easy. The muscles are probably in bad shape, it has been a while dad. Just try to relax, I'm gonna call up a doctor for you ok?"

"Aooo...ah." Parker eked out.

"Shh, shh it's gonna be ok dad. Relax, I'm not going anywhere." He assured him. Nick took out his phone and called the front desk.

"Zootopia General Admissions, how may I help you?"

"It's Nick Wilde, I'm upstairs floor 8, room H17. Send a doctor up immediately, Parker Wilde has woken up from his coma."

"Nick!? Oh gosh are you serious!? Ok ok, I'm sending Dr. David Haan up right away. Just keep Mr. Wilde safe and secure till he gets there."

"Got it." Nick hung up the phone and turned back to his father. Parker was sniffling and crying in the bed. "Shh, I got ya dad. I got ya." Nick leaned in, letting his father's muzzle rest beside his. "Welcome back, dad. You're alive, and here to stay this time ok? Remember the cancer you had? It's all gone. We cured it. You're fine now. We'll get you all fixed up and I'll catch you up on everything that's happened ok? I promise." The door opened up to reveal a smiling panda doctor, walking in with a few nurses behind him.

"Well hello there." He greeted warmly. "Parker Wilde." He chuckled softly at the foot of his bed, taking a moment to pick up the chart and signing off on the date. "Congratulations Mr. Wilde on your awakening and welcome back. It's good to see you with us again." A few of the nurses in the hall started clapping; Parker gave them a teary eyed glance and tried his best to smile. Dr. Haan walked over and took hold of the remote near his bed. "Is it ok if I get you a little more upright? You can just let me know if at any point it becomes uncomfortable."

"Doctor, I don't think he can talk." Nick cut in.

"Oh, well alright. Parker, just give Nick's hand a good hard squeeze if you feel any pain while we sit you up ok?" He said softly. Slowly the bed started to incline up. Satisfied with the position, he set the remote down. "There we go, that's perfect. Mr. Wilde, you have one very devoted son." Haan smiled taking to the foot of the bed. "Nick here has been visiting you regularly. Though on more than one occasion we caught him napping in the bed with you." He laughed. Parker started to cry once again as Nick tucked his head under Parker's chin.

"Never gave up on ya." He chuckled. Doctor Haan gave him a few moments to compose himself before placing his paws on Parker's feet.

"Just relax, Parker. We're going to do a few tests, make sure you have a few proper nerve and muscle responses. It's ok if you don't feel a few things here and there, you've been out for some time. We'll get it all taken care of. Nick, I'd appreciate if you could keep a good hand on him to interpret his responses please?"

"Of course!" He happily agreed.

Nick spent the entire afternoon and most of the evening with Parker as he went under a battery of tests and therapies. At one point they had him rigged up with several leads that ran current into his muscles to help stimulate them. Doctor Haan also eased him into several motions to help blood flow into his legs and arms with Nick's help. Much to their surprise he was responding incredibly well, even being bold enough to get up and walk around the room afterward. The only issue was his speech, it seemed Parker had suffered some minor damage to the speech centers in his brain, but Doctor Haan felt it might only be temporary. All in all, Nick was quite proud of his father's rapid progress through the day and settled in beside him as he sat on the edge of his bed.

"So, feeling up for a jog?" Nick quipped.

"Fun-ny." Parker managed to say. "Wh..when.. are you going... t--to tell me... Ho--ow long I've... Been.. Out for?" He asked. Nick took a deep breath and finally answered.

"It's May 2nd, 2021. You've been out for about six years."

"God." Parker stammered, lowering his head. "Aiden... Wh-ere... is Aiden?"

"He's ok, dad. He's in Everhallow Creek along with Bryan Baxter. The ZPD still has warrants out for both of them but, I haven't bothered to tell the chief we know where he is." Nick nodded.

"Please... N-nicky, I... I have t...to see, him."

"You will." Nick agreed, rising to his feet he took his father in for another hug. "You'll see him again soon ok? He's visited you too, you know? He knows you're alive, he comes by about once a year when he can sneak into the city. I saw him here about four months ago." He explained, releasing Parker.

"Judy?"

"Yeah, I'm in hot water tonight." Nick chuckled checking his phone. "7:05 and six missed messages. I guess I missed dinner."

"You... sh-should.. Go, home." Parker said softly.

"You should come with."

"G..got a.. plan?" Parker smiled.

"Yes, yes I do." Nick quipped. Ringing up the doctor, he waited for David Haan to return while finding his father's cloths. Parker was able to get changed while waiting as Doctor Haan came in.

"Yes, is everything ok- oh boy." Haan sighed seeing Parker dressed in his grey hoodie and cargo pants. "You know, Ms. Dawson warned me a while back about the stubbornness of the Wilde family."

"Think you mean Mrs. Grizzoli." Nick winked.

"Yes yes." Haan laughed. Extending his paw, he reached to shake Parker's hand. "Well I know I can't keep you here." Parker took it and shook the doctor's hand as Haan slapped a band on him. "But I do need you to remain monitored." He winked.

"Hey!" Nick argued. Doctor Haan waved his finger.

"No buts, that's a health monitor. It has a GPS and keeps a tab on his blood pressure, pulse, temperature and sends an immediate notification to the hospital if any complications arise. You were an intensive care patient for too long to set foot legally outside this building without one. That; stays on!" Haan reinforced. "You find a way to sneak out of it, you'll find yourself either back in here, or in jail Mr. Wilde."

"Ok." Parker consented. "Th-thank y-you, doctor."

"Nick, I don't think I have to warn you. Parker's condition is still unstable. He'll need to be closely monitored over the next few days. He may experience hallucinations, nightmares, sudden bouts of pain or nausea. Will the ZPD allow you to do this?"

"Yeah, I actually have a few personal days I've never cashed in. I got it covered." Nick agreed.

"Excellent. I should also inform you that I have already notified Chief Delgato of Parker's awakening." Haan advised much to Nick and Parker's surprise. "But, also of his current state. I've warned him that incarceration at this point would be incredibly ill advised, we don't want to traumatize you any more than you already are. Stay with your son, relax, try to work on your speech and stay off of computers."

"N-not, a... problem." Parker adamantly agreed. "My, my dreams..... Seeing the- the screen and... the codes and. .. It's too much.. I just.. I can't."

"Easy dad, easy." Nick soothed, patting his shoulder. "Come on, let's head home. Thank you so much, Dr. Haan."

"I should thank you too! You were a fantastic assistant today."

The drive home was very quiet, Parker simply watched the sun reflect off the water and cars passing by. Arriving at home, Nick helped his father out who seemed to be managing ok. He shuffled behind Nick as he took out his key and started unlocking the door. Before he could open it though, Judy threw it open, ears back and looking furious.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, NICK!? YOU JERK, YOU HAD ME WORRIED SICK!" She shouted.

"Sorry baby, I had something I had to take care of." Nick winked.

"What could-" Judy cut herself off seeing Parker give a shy little nod.

"H-hello..Judy. It- it's good t-to see... see you again."

"Oh sweet cheese and crackers." Judy gasped, stepping around Nick. "Parker?"

"Y-yeah." He nervously laughed. Judy playfully punched his stomach.

"Jerk, you kept my husband passed dinner."

"Carrots!" Nick exclaimed but Parker just laughed, placing a paw on her head.

"S-sorry."

"Come on in, you can have Nick's plate." She smiled, nudging Nick as she walked by.

"Maybe after I'm done with it." Nick playfully protested. Parker put a paw on his shoulder and walked in with his son.

"Daddy!!" Jason bellowed, rushing up to his father. Liam and Hannah weren't far behind as he scooped each of them up.

"Hey squirt! Did you have fun at the park today?"

"Yeah! Did you see the picture! I was on the monkey bars like the big cubs!" Jason proudly touted.

"I did, you were so brave! Good job big guy!"

"Um." Hannah pondered, sucking on her finger. "Sleepy Grampa!" She pointed out eagerly. Parker couldn't help but smile; the three cubs in his son's arms. He was almost too overwhelmed.

"Yep, that's sleepy Grampa alright." Nick winked.

"Grampy you were asleep a long time!" Jason spoke up.

"Y-yes I was." He smiled stepping inside the house. "But I... H-had t-to wake up... And v-visit-t you." Nick passed off Jason into Parker's arms. Giving his grandson one good long squeeze and kiss on the neck, he dove down and took his time picking up Hannah and Liam to do the same. "Y-you litt-tle kit's, s-so cut-te." He stammered.

"Dad, this is Jason Nicholas Wilde, he's five years old now. These little mess makers are Hannah Judith Wilde, and Liam Parker Wilde." Nick winked.

"L-liam... P-p-parker? Oh, N-nicky, you sh-should-dn't have.."

"Parker, Nick, come on. Your cold dinners are ready." Judy called from the kitchen.

"Alright squirts, off to the couch and watch a little TV until for now ok? Daddy and Artist-formerly-known-as Sleepy Grampa gotta eat." Nick announced.

"Th-the h-house is... Beau-tiful." Parker complimented, a near empty plate in front of him. Nick was still chowing down on his meal, a mix of ground synthetic beef and potato.

"Thank you." Judy bowed. "How are you feeling, Parker?"

"Its... I-its hard-d, sometimes. I'm n-never sure if I'm.... I'm actually a-awake." He struggled to explain. Nick leaned over and gave Parker's arm a pinch. "H-hey!"

"See, awake and well."

"But Nick, his speech." Judy interjected.

"They said it might be temporary. He's been comatose for a while; some things might be kind of off for him." Nick explained.

"L-left leg... K-keeps going numb." Parker threw in, stroking his thigh. "T-tingles r-right..now."

"Did they give you anything?" Judy asked.

"J-just..s-some stuff to...to calm... me down if.. i-f I end-d up with... Nightm-mares or.. hall... lucin...Ugh." Parker started scratching his head.

"Dad?" Nick grasped his father's shoulder.

"I-ts ok... J-just a bit-t of a h-head ache.." He explained.

"Poor guy." Judy said, folding her ears back. "These nightmares you've had. Are they about what happened at the mansion?"

"M-mansion...p-preda-tton. Daryl... all of..all of it. It, it start-ted to.. to all mash up-p." Parker explained as best he could. "S-so, much... Pain." Nick took hold of his father's hand while Judy snuck in behind and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Just take it easy, Parker. Everything is gonna be ok." She assured him.

"We got ya, you'll stay here with us for a while. We'll help ya get over all this."

"I d-don't...." He started to stammer. "Don't d-deserve.. this m-much.. l-lov-ve."

"Shh." Judy hushed again, giving him a moment to collect his thoughts. "Hey Parker?" She smiled.

"Mm?"

"What hurt worse? The headache after that night of drinking before the mansion rescue? Or the pain you're in now, Mr. Tough guy." She giggled, bumping him forward a little.

"Hahaha. I-its, a toss-s up." He smiled.

"Six or half a dozen huh?" Nick joined in.

"G-give or take."

Nick had set up a an inflatable mattress downstairs in the basement for Parker to sleep on. It was a little dark but the basement had the old couch from Nick's apartment and coffee table along with a nice big TV. He wasn't too keen on sleeping in general, instead opting to watch TV most of the night. Nick awoke in the early hours, giving Judy a kiss on the shoulder and nudging her awake for her shift at the station. Nick bundled up his uniform just in case, but he was going to go in with the intention of asking for the time off to care for his father.

Strolling passed the bedrooms; he was relieved to see Ian getting up and getting dressed to help care for the cubs.

"Morning." He yawned.

"Morning, Nick." Ian stretched out. "So uh, how's our new guest?"

"Bout to go find out. He didn't scream or anything in the night, so that's good." Nick noted.

"Well, hopefully after he gets the day off I can learn a few tricks on the computer from him."

"I don't think that's such a good idea, Ian." Nick shook his head.

"Come on, Psych was one of the best hackers in the world."

"Don't." Nick tried to cut off, waving his hand in the air. "Don't freaking call him that Ian, geez."

"Oh right, sorry. Yeah my bad. Well, I'll let him make the call. I got babysitting today huh?"

"Yeah, if they refuse me the time, you've got the cubs."

"K, got it." Nick nodded his approval and went over to check on Jason and the twins. Just as he walked passed, Jason slipped passed the door in nothing but his tighty white undies and charged the stairs.

"Jason, get your PJ's back on!" Nick called out. Ignoring his father, Nick carried on toward Hannah and Liam's room. Checking the bunks, he saw Hannah waiting to be brought down but Liam's bunk was empty. "Hannah baby, where's your brother?" He asked, bringing her down and patting her backside.

"I don't know." She replied, putting a finger in her mouth. "Maybe he went potty?"

"Yeah, maybe he went potty. I'll go look." Nick agreed, carrying Hannah on his hip. Nick peered inside the bathroom and found it empty and started down the stairs. "That's not good." He pushed open the door to the basement and heard the TV still playing along with the lights all on. "You up dad?"

"Y-yeah, come on..d-down." Parker replied. Nick could just see his ears sticking out from the couch until he got into the basement. Liam was nestled in Parker's lap, sucking on a cracker while watching one of his favorite shows.

"Huh, this is where he snuck off to." Nick smiled, bouncing Hannah on his hip a little.

"Yeah, s-sorry.. He..was hav-ving some t-troubles in the b-bathroom.." Parker explained. "Brought h-him down h-here after and.... he c-conked out."

"Well that's good. Watching your shows there, squirt?" He asked his son.

"Uh-huh, shhh." The little cub hushed, pressing his finger on his lips. "Brave wittle lion is on."

"Ok squirt, here Hannah. Sit with your brother; we'll put on your pony show after ok?"

"K." Hannah agreed placing her next to Parker. He scooted Liam off and rose up to his feet with a few good cracks from his knees.

"Sleep ok dad?"

"No, act-tually. I d-didn't.. sleep." He explained coming around the couch.

"Oh, did you want the guest bed? I'm sure Ian wouldn't mind a few nights down here-"

"No-no.. I.. I just-t... I've b-been asleep for y-years.. Had my fill." Parker explained, stashing his hands in his hoodie.

"Hey come on, you still need to rest. Sides, a little beauty sleep wouldn't hurt ya." Nick playfully advised. Parker just shrugged it off, in a mirror of his son's attitude and smiled. Nick took him in for a hug and pat his back. "Come on, let's get some food in ya."

After finishing up breakfast, Judy got dressed up in her usual uniform and checked her phone. She noticed she had received two messages, one from the Chief and one from Bogo.

"Oh boy." She sighed, swiping it open to read them.

"What's up?" Nick asked, dressed in his classic shirt and tie combo.

"Messages from Diego and Bogo."

"What's it say?" Nick peered over.

"Judy, please bring Parker Wilde in with you and Nick today, that's from Diego. Mrs. Wilde, tell your husband that fox has to be psychiatrically evaluated before he goes anywhere else, including back home. Bring him to the station ASAP, I'll meet you and Delgato there."

"Huh, wonder if I got the same." Nick pondered, cracking open his phone. "Oh yeah, there he is."

"Let's see." Judy snuck a peek over and folded her ears back. "Nick!" She swatted his arm, Nick just slit his eyes, throwing up his brow with a smile. "Mayor Buffalo Butt? Seriously!?"

"Hahahaha." Parker laughed from the dining room.

"You shush! The last thing this dumb-fox needs is encouragement." She chuckled. "Come on Parker, we're going to the station.

"Hey come on, Carrot's its his first full day back." Nick protested.

"Oh N-nicky relax..." Parker joined in. "Let-t's not-t forget... How, I got-t into th-this mess."

"Thank you, Parker." Judy praised, patting his back.

Down at the station, Parker followed behind Judy and Nick walking through the front door. He looked around taking in the sight until he spotted a familiar face. Wolford was over by one of the pillars, talking with Grizzoli and a few other officers. Ryan was surprised to see him at first but glared at the old fox while Parker simply smiled, offering up a kiss.

"Nick! Judy! How was your weekend!?" The vixen behind the counter greeted happily, resting her head on her hands.

"Great, Kate. How was yours?" Nick smiled right back.

"Oh, it was fine. All I can say is I'm never going to Great Wolf Nightclub again."

"Uh oh, bad service?" Nick wondered.

"No, I may have gotten a little... Rowdy." She confessed, covering her mouth.

"Shots?"

"No, ladies night. We may have been trying to get one of the dancers to give us a private show."

"Kate!!" Judy exclaimed.

"What!? We were gonna pay! Uh, you should have seen that bulge, OOO! So perfect." She all but drooled recalling it.

"Totally appropriate conversation to have in front of my father." Nick quipped. "Speaking of which, where's stripes at? He wanted to see us."

"Uh huh, upstairs." Kate nodded. "Be a good boy, Nick."

"Where's the fun in that?" He winked. Judy pulled Nick's arm and carried him away from the counter. "Easy bun-bun, there's no rush."

"Nicky... Shameless, f-flirt." Parker lightly scolded.

"He is so bad sometimes." Judy joined in.

"Hey, I can't help it if vixens faint at the sight of me- OW!" Nick bragged until Parker knocked the back of his head.

"You're a m-married fox.. Act-t like it."

"I'm starting to like having you around." Judy smiled back to him.

"My p-pleasure, Judy."

Opening the door, they were met by Bogo, Delgato and a female arctic fox sitting at the desk.

"Have a seat you guys." Delgato greeted, extending his paw.

"Good to see you two again." Bogo smiled.

"How's city hall treatin ya, big guy?" Nick nodded, leaping into the chair along with his father.

"Way too much paperwork, far, far too much."

"So, here he is, seemingly back from the dead." Delgato stated. "I hope our officers didn't make you feel too uneasy, Parker."

"N-no, just-t fine." Parker replied.

"Parker? Or, do you prefer Psych?" The fox greeted, extending her paw. Parker grit his teeth and looked away.

"P-parker.. Please." He adamantly stated.

"My apologies, I didn't mean to offend you." She answered, pressing her paw on her chest. "Do you remember me at all, Parker? Claire? Claire Tanner?"

"Oh!" He perked up. "C-creepy Claire, from Savannah Central High School."

"Pah, you would remember that." She smiled. "Parker Mathias Wilde, it's good to see you again." She shook his hand and took a seat across from him. "I'm just going to ask you a few questions, we're going to talk about what happened at the mansion and whatnot, but I want you to feel comfortable. That's why I'm ok with Nick and Judy being here."

"Sure." He agreed.

"Chief, he isn't going to be incarcerated today, is he?" Judy perked up.

"I'm not certain Judy."

"The doctor clearly said-" Nick tried to speak up.

"I know what he said, Nick." Delgato cut off. "But I have a city to protect and as much as you may love him, I have to keep in mind who he is, and what he's done. I'm sorry Miss Tanner, carry on."

"Thank you. Parker what do you recall about the last day at the mansion?"

"Um.. I rememb-ber fight-ting with.. With Oshu. And, I remember... I remember Aiden bringing Nicky... B-b-bringing him in. T-telling the lion t-to.. to go. And... being r-ripped open." Parker stated, grasping his stomach. "B-blood, lots of... blood."

"That's good, take your time Parker. What else?" She spoke softly.

"After... I shot, Oshu... It-ts. Most-ly w-white... But, I remem...remember holding Nicky and J-judy's paws... Seeing.. seeing sunlight and-d then it's just-t. Dark."

"Ok." She nodded, taking a few notes. "Nick and Judy stated that, when you found out that Nick was the officer you shot, you turned on Oshu and helped free Bogo, Wolford and Judy. Is that correct?"

"Yes."

"Was this solely your idea, or was this encouraged by Judy?"

"She.." Parker smiled back to her. "She's the o-one. I'm p-proud of.. her." He took his time saying.

"Are you ok? You seem to be awful tired, Parker."

"Leg, really hurt-ts. And the h-headaches... They're bad." Parker explained as best he could.

"He also has a serious issue with speech." Nick threw in. "Doctor Haan said he may have had some mild brain damage from being comatose for so long."

"Yes, I saw that." Claire turned over her sheet on the clipboard. "David Haan stated there were improper responses from the right side of his face during a nerve exam, mostly located in the eye and jaw region. Uhh... speech impediment, including slurred speech and/or stuttering. Your left leg has unexplained spastic issues as well, he wants you back in to get that investigated." She carried on.

"Sounds about right." Nick agreed.

"Parker, can you tell me a little about what you experienced in the coma? Did you see, feel, hear anything?"

"A-lot." He breathed, nodding repeatedly. "S-so, many... Night-t mares. I saw, things f-from.. Predaton, D-daryl, Aid-den as a c-cub. Nicky b-bleeding. So, much. It was-s just soo... so much."

"Shh, ok relax Parker." Claire hushed, scribbling a few more things down. Setting the clipboard on the desk, all eyes in the room fixed on her as she hopped off the chair and moved to Parker. "Come down for a second ok? I just want to do a few tests here."

"Ok." He submitted. Standing before her, she placed her paws on his face and tapped at his brow, temple, cheeks and jaw.

"Can you feel that?" Parker nodded. "Does it feel the same on both sides?"

"No, it's.. w-weird here." He pointed to his right.

"Ok. Here grab my paws." She overlapped her paws and reached for his. Parker grabbed both in a similar fashion. "Squeeze tight." Parker did as instructed but she could feel significant weakness in his right hand. "Ok, arms up at either side. I'm gonna tap along your chest, you let me know if it feels normal on both sides, ok?" She gently poked at each rib, down to his belly where he chuckled a little and withdrew.

"Sorry."

"That's ok, was it normal?"

"Yeah, t-that.. was.. fine." He breathed.

"Good! Ok, now flex your arms, don't let me pull them away." She stated. Parker was letting the right slack quite a bit, but his left seemed steady. "Ok same thing but push out, don't let me push them in." And again she noticed a similar pattern. "Paws spread out, don't let me push them in... Ok." She whispered, picking up the clipboard and writing a few more things down.

"So, what's the verdict doc?" Nick spoke up.

"Well." Claire tipped her head, glancing to each of them. "Just based on the preliminary examination and Doctor Haan's findings, I don't believe Parker is fit to stand trial."

"Hmm." Bogo hummed with a scowl. "We are dealing with one of Zootopia's most cunning criminals in its history, how do we know he's not playing this up?"

"Are ya nuts or something?" Nick protested.

"Mr. Mayor, this is a five year coma patient. I'm surprised he's not in a wheel chair. Given the family's history of stubborn behavior, I'm actually leaning toward his condition being more serious than he is letting on, at least on the physical side of things. Mentally, and memory wise he seems fairly typical of someone who has experienced post traumatic stress. Nightmares, fragmented memories, hallucinations these are all typical symptoms. Chief Delgato, you can do with my diagnosis as you please but, I do believe imprisoning Mr. Wilde to be incredibly ill advised. In his current state, such actions may cause him to bring harm to himself or others." She advised.

"L-lovely." Parker shrugged off.

"Parker, I want you back in with me tomorrow, give yourself some good rest and try to work on speech if you can. My office is on the south end of Tujunga in the Rainforest District."

"Ok."

"That bracelet, it has the GPS enabled?" She pointed with her pen.

"Yes." Parker answered solemnly.

"Good, leave that on. The ZPD have access to those devices, you can be monitored to make sure you're not trying to flee the city."

"Sounds good." Judy agreed.

"Can he keep staying with us?" Nick requested.

"Either with you, or in a care center or the hospital but yes, he should be somewhere safe."

"I f-feel... Feel.. s..safe..." Parker tried to say, but was falling onto his knees.

"Dad!" Nick rushed over and put a paw around him along with Judy.

"My h-head." He whimpered.

"Easy, Parker. Take it easy, you're ok." Claire assured him. "Stop putting on such a tough show, ok? You really, really need to rest!"

"Chief?" Nick looked up. "Look, I hate to ask but, can I take a few personal days to look after him?"

"Yeah, I suppose. We are pretty slow right now so, should be fine." Delgato agreed.

"Thank you."

"Judy? I'll have you partnered up with Grizzoli today, ok?" Delgato offered.

"Sure, sounds good. Come on Parker; let's get you to the car."

"Thank you." Parker draped his paws over Judy and Nick as they carried him out the door. Delgato cleared his throat and looked to Bogo and Dr. Tanner.

"You really believe he's not a threat?" Delgato asked.

"If he is, give the fox an award." Claire nodded. "I knew him a little in High School, Parker was always pretty quiet unless he was around friends. But he's never looked, defeated."

"Defeated?" Bogo questioned.

"He's shaky, quite out of it and does seem like he is genuinely in a great deal of pain. I can't quite put a paw on it but, it almost seems like he's scared." She stated. "I'll speak with him more tomorrow and inform you of anything I find that's of importance."
