Just Friends (or proof I'm not dead)

Chris was running through a forest, running to escape from reality and responsibility. She wasn't ready. She loved running outside, she felt like part of the world, she felt like she was meant to be, she felt loved. Chris recognized the tree she had just passed, its ancient twisted knots signalled freedom, there was not far to go now.

Finally! She had reached her destination, a large bowl-shaped clearing with a great willow at its centre, she came here whenever she wanted to be alone, and whenever she wanted to escape her loneliness. Chris arrived at her usual spot within a cleft in the trunk of the tree, here she contemplated her dilemma.

For the last twelve months she had been dating Jonathan, a beautiful snow leopard with deep blue eyes, on nights of the full moon it seemed as if he was always smiling, such was the gleam in his eye. However she had always had a place in her heart for a certain other: Edward. He was an enormous polar bear who she had had a crush on since even before when she began school. Chris had been awed by his strength and grace, if Jonathan symbolised the moon, then without any doubt Edward was the stars. She looked back upon those last few days and saw that all the light had blinded her, she had to make decisions, back when she could, now it was too late.

Zack rushed through the thick, dense undergrowth of the forest with a speed that did not seem to fit his awkward, foxy frame. He was on the hunt. "Where did that dammed cheetah get to?" He questioned, dismayed by his quarry's ability to evade him. "You can do better than this Rich. His scent must be apparent for miles from here!" Unfortunately Zack had to admit that despite the apparent advantage that he had in this game, the cheetah was simply too elusive, he would have to give up.

Just as Zack was reaching the edge of the forest, where nature seemed to slowly submit to the dominant force of civilization, he saw a blur in his peripheral vision, a cheetah? Perhaps. At any rate Zack wasn't prepared to end his hunt without following up this last trail. Maybe he would win after all. Zack flew in the direction he thought he saw the blur escape, and sure enough, there unmistakably, about thirteen meters away, was the rapidly receding rear end of a young cheetah boy. Zack noticed that it was darker than he remembered but put this to the side of his mind, the light in these woods could cause far stranger things than a slight change in colour.

Chris relaxed into the hollow within the willow, allowing the coarseness of truth to abandon her person and bother someone else, just for the moment anyway. Now was not the time for the contemplation of inconvenient realities, this moment was for relaxation. Chris had prepared well, no-one would disturb her now. Everyone would be assembled in the main hall, listening to an apparently important announcement about a chapel to be built in dedication to some semi-historic figure, something like that anyway. She reached down and undid the top button of her shorts, the denim fabric parting to reveal a thickening in the fur that covered her stomach. She continued unbuttoning her shorts slowly, savouring the fact that for once she was able to take her time at this, her favourite activity. Finally she removed her shorts entirely, revealing her other useful bit of planning: her underwear was already gone.

***

Zack weaved in and out of the trees, pursuing once again the elusive cheetah, seeming to get closer with every passing second. Zack knew he'd won. In preparation for finally catching his prey Zack slipped out his already erect penis and prepared to attack.

***

Chris was in heaven, the pleasure she was experiencing had erased all of her worries, this place was hers and hers alone, it didn't matter what Jonathan ad Edward were planning to do. They could go kill each other for all she cared, she had this.

***

The cheetah had just dashed into a clearing, Zack knew that in the open he had the advantage. He angled himself towards where he saw the cheetah escape, braced himself and leapt.

As usual votes and comments greatly appreciated.

Sorry to leave it incomplete, but what can I say? I'm lazy.

Life has been busy of late and as such this is my shortest chapter so far. I will complete it in future, but at present it is on the backburner as I work on extending the world of Unbroken Bonds and try to improve my drawing skills (yes the project I previously mentioned will now get some attention) Thanks to Dasher Cheetah for the concept, he is responsible for almost all that will follow.
